I don't own bnha or Naruto. The former belongs to Kouhei Horikoshi and the latter to Masashi Kishimoto.
Hey there, welcome to another chapter of this story. Hopefully you will enjoy it.
Chapter 9
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Izuku's eyes slowly open as he adjusts himself to a sitting position, slightly disoriented.
"What happened? The last thing I remember was…" And that's when everything comes back to him. The USJ, his sensei and most important, the nomu and its ability to use chakra.
He instantly jumps to his feet and tenses to fight again, his fingers ready to create more shadow clones, but he frowns when he realizes where he is.
"This is… my mindscape, but how did I get here?"
"Finally you woke up, I thought that punch would make you sleep for a month." Izuku turns around and his green orbs meet Kurama's own red orbs.
"Kurama, what happened? How did I get here?"
Kurama sighs and crosses his arms. "To answer both your questions, the nomu managed to survive and knocked you out with a punch, albeit it seems that it consumed almost all of its chakra to survive, and that punch took all of its remaining chakra. Before you lost your conscience, All Might appeared, which made the hand villain escape since the nomu wasn't moving anymore." Izuku sighs in relief and lies down on the grass. Once again, All Might saved the day.
But then Izuku frowned and looked at Kurama, "But how was the nomu able to use chakra? Although it was far different than either mine or yours, it was still chakra." Kurama looked away, which only made Izuku frown deepen.
"Kurama, do you know something?" Kurama sighed.
"I was planning on telling you this when you reached eighteen, but it seems that the beast is moving already." Izuku was confused by his partner's cryptic words, but didn't say anything.
"To start with, I'm not a quirk." Izuku tilted his head, even more confused at those words.
Izuku opened his mouth to reply, but Kurama lifted his hand. "Before you can speak, have you ever wondered why exactly your sensei quirk didn't work on you? Or why your 'quirk' has multiple aspects like transformation, element manipulation and even a sentient being like me?"
Izuku puts a hand on his chin, "Now that you mention it, that is indeed strange. Quirks aren't supposed to be so complicated as mine is, like how Bakugou can create explosions or how Kirishima can harden himself, even Tokoyami quirk mutates his head and gives him Dark Shadow, but he can't control and manipulate darkness aside from his sentient quirk. Not to mention how my quirk isn't a fully mutation type, which means that Aizawa-sensei should be able to erase it, but erasure doesn't work, but…" Kurama eye twitched and he let out a sigh.
'Of course that idiot would go into a muttering spree sooner or later…'
"OI! Shut up and let me speak!" Izuku jumped a little when Kurama shouted before rubbing his head and whispering 'sorry'.
Kurama let out a sigh before continuing, "The truth is that I'm not a quirk, and neither is your chakra. Let me explain everything, and try to keep yourself from muttering until the end, or I will eat you alive, got it ?" Izuku gulped and nodded, not wanting to test whether he was going to honor that threat or not.
Kurama then began explaining the story of Kaguya and how she came to earth. The chakra fruit and the birth of her two sons, Hagoromo and Hamura. He told him about how her sons fought their mother to free the humans from her control, which she was planning to turn them into an army of white creatures called Zetsu. At first, the brothers were winning against Kaguya, which made her merge with the god tree to create a beast called ten tails. In the end, after a hard and very chaotic fight, the brothers defeated her, and Hagoromo sealed the ten tails inside of himself. Then Kurama explains how Hagoromo continued with his life, trying to fix the chaos that his fight with Kaguya did to the world. The Fox decided to skip the story about how Hagoromo had two sons, Indra and Ashura, since he didn't want to explain about the reincarnations and jumped right until the day where Hagoromo was dying.
"If he were to die with the Ten Tails inside of him, it would break free and wreak havoc on the world again. To avoid this, Hagoromo splitted the Ten Tails into Nine Beasts. But even with the creation of the Beasts, it still wasn't enough to end the Ten Tails. Knowing that, Hagoromo used his power to seal the husk of the beast in the sky, which it got known as the moon." Izuku was silent at the end of the story. It wasn't hard to figure out that Kurama is one of the nine beasts in the story, but there are many unanswered questions on his mind.
After a few seconds, Izuku decided to ask the first and most important question, "If that's true, then why I never saw anything about the nine beasts around the world? Not only that, but the way you spoke about the creation of the moon seems to be a long time ago, meaning that I shouldn't be the only one that is able to use chakra." Kurama, despite everything, smirks at Izuku's sharp mind.
"The reason for your first question is because all of this happened in a world far beyond yours. In that world, everyone has chakra, and are able to use the same jutsus that you have and many others." That made Izuku stop completely.
'A-Another world full of people that are able to use chakra?! B-But how is that possible?! Is it another planet o-or even another galaxy?! Wait… could the chakra from that world be the reason for the existence of quirks?! I-If so, then…' Before he could even think, Izuku was thrown into a bunch of trees, courtesy of Kurama.
"Did you snap out of it?!" Izuku grits his teeth and jumps out of the destroyed trees with a tick mark on his forehead.
"Can you blame me?! You speak about some sort of space aliens and even another world full of chakra! I'm surprised that I'm not freaking out right now!"
"I'm surprised that you even believed me, not that I would blame you if you didn't." Izuku rubs his forehead to check if there was any sight of blood, and sighs in relief when it doesn't.
"It is a very elaborate story for it to be a lie, and it would explain how you knew so much about my quirk… or chakra in this case. Sentient quirks, while rare, aren't supposed to have so much information about themselves since they are connected to their user." Kurama raises an eyebrow, not believing that the brat, whom he has known for 5 years, isn't freaking out about that, unless…
"You are going to write everything and more in your notebook, right?" The glint in his jinchuuriki eyes proved that he was right, making the fox sigh.
'At least I can cut the mental link to not have to listen to those mutterings..'
"I still have a lot of questions, though." Kurama hums, understable.
"Ask them, I will answer them as best as I can."
"The first one is why you told me this now, and not before. Maybe it would have helped today against the nomu." Kurama didn't miss the bitterness in his voice when asking that question.
"There were many reasons for that. The main one is that you were a child who wasn't in the right state of mind to hear about those things yet. And as I said, I was planning on telling you when you hit eighteen, but unfortunately, things happened that made me tell them now." Izuku nodded. Considering that he was a child at the time and wasn't in the right state of mind, he would probably do the same.
"Before, you mentioned something about 'Beast', what is it? Is it one of your siblings?" Kurama growls at the thought of such a beast being compared to his siblings. He will never accept that thing as one of his siblings.
"No, the beast that I mentioned is the reason I was sent to this world. Unlike here, my world was full of wars, death and hate. Humans misused the tool that Hagoromo created, and instead of using it for peace like he wanted, it was used for wars. Unfortunately, those wars brought hate, and that hate created a separated beast from the nine that were born. Hagoromo, using his last bit of powers, sent the beast to this world, hoping that it would die since there is no chakra here. But it didn't go according to his plan, and he asked me to come here and fight against it." Izuku frowns in confusion.
"Then why are you here? Inside of me, I mean. It should be far easier to beat that beast without me trapping you."
"Aside from the fact that having a giant nine tailed fox in the world would catch the attention of everyone." He began with a sarcastic tone, making Izuku wince at how dumb his question was. "Things happened in my world and I ended up… dying. To save my life, Hagoromo fused my soul into yours, and here we are today." Izuku pauses, trying to process the information. Kurama died? But… who would be able to beat him? Izuku himself would never stand a chance against him alone… wait.
"Fused your soul with mine…?" Izuku mutters with a slightly fearful expression.
"Before you assume the worst, it's not the end of the world for you. Believe me, if anyone had a reason to fear this fusion it is me." Izuku deadpans at the fox, but then widens his eyes.
"So that's the reason why my eyes are slit now… it is as the saying goes, 'The eyes are the window of the soul.'"
"Wow, a poet." Kurama mutters sarcastically, but Izuku doesn't hear it since he seemed lost in thoughts, which caught the attention of the fox.
"What's wrong kid? Too much information for now?" Izuku shakes his head.
"No no, I was just thinking about why I was chosen. Wouldn't it be better for someone like All Might, who is the strongest hero alive? I was just a quirkless kid, and I even failed to stop the Nomu today… What chance do I have against that beast itself?" Kurama narrows his eyes at the traces of self depreciation in his jinchuuriki tone. Even after five years, that trait is still there.
"Perhaps you are right, and All Might could have been a better choice." Izuku looks away, trying to hide the pain in his friend's words, but Kurama isn't finished. "But I trusted in Hagoromo's choice of you, and you… well… isn't a bad choice." There's not a single chance in hell that Kurama will admit that the boy surpassed his expectatives when training, especially when he managed to use the Chidori and the Rasengan variations.
"Even if I would have a better chance by choosing All Might, then what would happen with all the people you saved along the years as a vigilante? Not to mention that All Might is far from his prime, and could probably be blown away by a strong wind." Kurama mutters the last part to avoid Izuku complaining about his insult towards the hero.
Kurama saw that his words did impact Izuku, as the boy reflected on every single person he saved. Ranging from Uraraka mom until the day he helped Eraserhead himself. All Might would indeed have a better chance with Kurama to finish the hate beast, but then who would have saved those people before?
"Thanks Kurama." Izuku smiles at the fox, who scoffed and looked away.
"I just got angry that you started to suck up to that blonde buffoon, don't thank me." Izuku sweatdrops at Kurama words.
'Tsundere…' He would rather avoid mentioning it aloud and risk Kurama hearing it… He misses when Kurama didn't know what that means.
"Hey Kurama…" The fox looked back to Izuku, who seemed lost in thought.
"Do you think that if Hagoromo hadn't chosen me… Would I be able to become a hero without a quirk?" Kurama hums while thinking about the question. It's obvious that this question meant a lot for Izuku, and if Kurama were to answer wrong, then it could cause a bit of trouble.
An image of Naruto as a kid appeared in his mind before it changed to Naruto with the Hokage cape, and Kurama couldn't suppress a smirk.
"Why wouldn't you be able to?" Izuku widens his eyes and looks at Kurama in his eyes, not sure if he heard him correctly.
"It would be hard since you would have to put in a lot more of efford to train your body, and you would have to ignore the others telling you to give up and all that stupid crap about how you couldn't be a hero without a quirk, but it's not impossible." Izuku laughs while cleaning his tears. Kurama is not one to lie or beat around the bush, and if he believed that he could, then it would be possible.
"Crybaby."
Izuku rolls his eyes, "Be careful Kurama, your tsundere act disappeared for a moment."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Kurama roars, making Izuku smirk at his partner, but then he sat down and looked at the trees. He could stay here forever, watching the wind blow at the trees, making the leaves fall.
"Do you know how long I have to wait before waking up?" Kurama grunts.
"I don't know. That punch you took from the Nomu wasn't weak by any means. Pretty sure you broke your arms defending against it." Izuku winces and rubs his arms, feeling thankful that he isn't feeling pain yet.
"Do you think I can patrol tonight?" Kurama snorts.
"Your arm isn't the only thing that you should worry about. Don't forget that All Might and your classmates saw you after that punch." Izuku widens his eyes at his words. He is pretty sure that his mom and Uraraka will be watching him like a hawk when he gets home.
Izuku was about to speak again, but before he could even open his mouth, his vision had gone white.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Izuku slowly opens his eyes again. Blinking to adjust to the light in the room, and winces a little when moving his left arm.
'It's not broken, or at least isn't broken anymore.'
"(No need to thank me.)"
Ignoring the fox comment, Izuku looks around the room. It seems that he was in a hospital room, probably UA. But he doesn't locate Recovery Girl anywhere, nor does he see anyone else.
'Maybe Aizawa-sensei is in another room? Hopefully his wounds aren't life threatening.' Izuku leans down on the bed and looks at the ceiling, thinking about the Nomu and Kurama words.
'A world completely different from this one… Where people have the same abilities as me, and some probably are far stronger than me… I wonder how the heroes would fare against them. Not only that, but there is a beast out there with the same powers as mine, if not more powerful. If the nomu is just a glimpse of its full power, then it will be hard.' Izuku looks at the window before focusing on his bandaged hand.
'I need to train, and harder than before. I need to master Kurama's power if I want to have a better chance against that beast !'
Izuku heard the door open and saw that Recovery Girl had arrived, but she wasn't alone. All Might in his civilian form was there, and there was also a detective with them.
Izuku, unaware about the identity of the detective, tries his best to not shout All Might and reveal his identity. Instead, he uses the hero's civilian name, "Yagi-san, how is everyone else?"
Yagi gives a reassuring smile to the jinchuuriki, "Don't worry young Midoriya. Everyone was unharmed save a few cuts and bruises. In fact, you were the only student that received that level of injury." Izuku lets out a sigh of relief, but then the detective cleans his throat.
"Oh right! Young Midoriya, this is my best friend in the police force, Tsukauchi Naomasa." He gestures to the detective, who bowed slightly.
"Hello Midoriya-kun, I hope you are recovering well." Izuku bows in greetings as well.
"Thank you Tsukauchi-san, I feel a lot better now thanks to Recovery Girl." To prove that, Izuku moves one of his arms, ignoring the little pain that this action causes.
Recovery Girl glares at Izuku for that little action, but then sighed. "I can't take all the credit. Your clones healed you to their best of ability until all of them vanished, and there is also the fact that your wounds were healing by themselves." Izuku rubs his head with a sheepish smile.
Tsukauchi takes a step forward. "I apologize for disturbing your recovery Midoriya-kun, but you are the only student left that we haven't taken a statement from. Before you ask, your clones vanished before I could talk to them." Izuku nods.
"So you want me to tell you everything now?"
"If it's alright with you, if not, then you can do it later after you have recovered enough." Izuku shakes his head, not bothered by the request, before he starts to tell him everything. About the villains appearing, Aizawa jumping to confront them by himself, Kurogiri teleporting him, Asui and Mineta to the flood zone, him sending his clones to aid the others, how he and his classmates escaped the zone and his confrontation with the Nomu.
"If you allow me, Tsukauchi-san, Shigaraki doesn't seem to be the one behind the nomu." Tsukauchi looks up from his notepad, silently requesting the boy to explain.
"When I thought I had beaten Nomu, he started to throw a tantrum, and he even told me about how Nomu had multiple quirks. He doesn't seem to be someone that has the ability to create something like that." If Izuku weren't paying attention to the detective, he would have seen All Might flinching and Recovery Girl holding her cane tightly.
"I see, thank you for your statement, Midoriya-kun. Now if you excuse me, I need to leave, have a nice recovery." Tsukauchi leaves, with Yagi following him as Recovery Girl checks on Izuku and his wounds.
When they were a bit far from the room, Tsukauchi turned to look at Yagi, both of them having grim faces.
"Do you think that… Is it him ?" Tsukauchi nods, making All Might clench his fists.
"At first I had hoped that it was pure research that allowed the creation of Nomu, but if what Midoriya said it's true, then he might be back." Yagi grits his teeth, almost buffering up to his hero form.
Tsukauchi puts a hand on his shoulder, making the hero look at his friend, "Calm down Yagi. Even if he is still alive, he couldn't have escaped from that battle unscathed. Focus on training your successor and your students while I search for any information about his location." Yagi sighs and nods, but then looks at Tsukauchi with a smile.
"You also should rest a little old friend, you could compete with Aizawa if you continue overworking yourself." Tsukauchi sighs and stifles a yawn.
"I was searching for that vigilante, Ninja. He always manages to escape the heroes the second they find him, making it even more difficult to find any clues about him."
"I don't get why you want to arrest him. Over the past years he has been a huge help from what I readed about him." In truth, if Yagi had met the young vigilante, he would only ask him to be careful in his fights and thank him for his services before trying to convince him to become an official hero. Why would he waste time to arrest someone who is actively helping to protect the civilians?
Tsukauchi sighs, "Not this again Yagi. If we allow a vigilante like him to bypass the law, it would inspire more and more people to become vigilantes themselves, and it may result in many vigilantes that are borderline villains."
Yagi shrugs, "Even then, Ninja has been pretty helpful in my eyes. You should just let him go." Knowing that it was futile to argue with him, Tsukauchi bid goodbye to Yagi before leaving.
Yagi sighs and decides to go back to Recovery Girl medic room. Arriving there, he could see that Izuku had a comical bump on the head, making the hero sweatdrop.
"Let me guess… you told her that you are fine and tried to leave." Izuku nods sheepishly while rubbing his head, making Yagi chuckle.
"All Might, what happened after I was knocked out? What about Uraraka and the others?" Yagi picks up a chair nearby and sits down.
"You don't have to worry about them, young Midoriya. Aside from Aizawa and Thirteen, you were the worst wounded of the students." His answer made Izuku calm down slightly. He was worried that after he was defeated, Nomu would be after his classmates. Thinking about it…
"What about Nomu? Its strength reminded me of yours, All Might."
Yagi rubs his chin, "I believe that your efforts weren't for naught, young Midoriya. When I arrived to fight against the Nomu, it didn't fight back. In fact, after it protected the villains while they escaped, it didn't move anymore." Izuku puts a hand on his chin. So his plan did work in the end, but why?
"(I have a theory about it, after he leaves we can discuss.)"
Izuku let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness then, It would've been a problem if you had to fight him… N-Not that I'm saying that you would lose, All Might! It's just that Nomu was really strong and you did some hero work in the morning! Which was the reason why you didn't come to the rescue class! Not that-" Yagu let out a booming laugh, which resulted in him vomiting blood, which in turn resulted in Izuku shouting in worry of his health, which in turn resulted in Kurama screaming in anger in response.
After Yagi cleaned the blood from his mouth and Kurama growled in his head to not shout again, he chuckled. "Don't worry young Midoriya, I'm not offended by your words. To be fair, they indeed are true. I would have struggled to defeat Nomu, since I barely had minutes left to fight. And even if I managed to defeat it, there was a risk of revealing my true state to the students." Izuku's eyes widened to the size of a dinner plate at what Yagi said next.
"Thank you, young Midoriya, for doing what I couldn't and protecting them." Izuku splutters many incomprehensive words, believing that he was still knocked out and dreaming of such a thing happening.
Yagi chuckles at Izuku's reaction to his words. With his piece said, the hero got up and walked towards the exit, but then he turned back to look at Izuku. "Oh, and young Uraraka is very worried about you. I believe that she may come to visit if you aren't out of here later."
After Yagi left, Izuku stayed there, replaying in his mind what he said before leaving.
"(All Might thanked me…)"
"(Yup)"
"(All Might himself thanked me for protecting everyone…)"
"(I know, I saw it…)" Kurama says, bored.
"(The number 1 hero himself thanked me!)"
"(I really wonder why you are so freaked out about something so small and yet you are ok when I talked about another world.)"
"(SO IT TRULY WASN'T A DREAM ?!)" Kurama groans at the question. Of course he would think it was all a dream.
"(Of course not you idiot! Did you forget that ever since I appeared, you never had a single dream when you slept?!)"
Izuku looks away, not knowing what to say in reply to Kurama words. But then he let out a sigh.
"(That beast you told me about… do you have an idea of how strong it is ?)"
"(No, but it can't be stronger than me, the strongest tailed beast, or even the strongest enemy I have faced in my life.)" Izuku rolls his eyes at Kurama words.
"(How can you be so sure that you are the strongest tailed beast?)"
"(A tailed beast's strength is measured by the number of their tails. The more tails the beast has, the stronger it is. I have nine so logically I am the strongest.)"
"(Have you fought against your siblings?)"
"(What do you mean?)"
"(I mean… you have to defeat your siblings to confirm that statement, or else there is no proof aside from your words. So, i'm going to ask again, did you ever fought and defeated your siblings in a fair fight?)" Izuku smirks at how Kurama starts to sputter just like he did when Yagi thanked him.
"(What was that Kurama? I didn't get it.)" Izuku smirks widens when he says that.
Kurama really hates how his new jinchuuriki is far more annoying than Naruto. He wonders what would happen if he 'accidently' killed him. Would he die too? 'It would be worth it.'
But then Izuku drops his smirk and looks at the window, watching the sunset with an worried expression
"(Do you think that the beast also did a soul fusion with someone or, at the very least, is sealed?)"
"(I doubt that the latter is possible considering that only me, you and that beast possess chakra, and only I possess knowledge of how to use it correctly. But the former it's not impossible.)"
"(Considering that there has never been a case of a giant beast destroying the world, it either has a human appearance or it is inside of someone… Speaking about it, what was your theory about what happened to Nomu?)"
"(Do you remember my first warning to you? If you somehow run out of chakra you die?)" Izuku nods. "(That's probably what happened with that thing.)" The Jinchuuriki frowns in confusion.
"(But how? I mean, even if it was a small portion of chakra, it should still have a lot more than a normal human, and Nomu didn't use any type of jutsu to deplete his chakra.)"
"(Many possibilities. Either the amount of chakra caused the chakra coils to blow up, or since it was an artificial creation, the chakra coils were already pretty damaged, or…)" Kurama frowns, another possibility entering his mind.
"(Kid, that combo you used, how sure were you that it would defeat Nomu?)" Izuku widens his eyes a little at the sudden question, but then he puts a hand on his chin.
"(Theoretically, that amount of flames could be compared to Endeavor's when he's serious. Even if I'm wrong, it was still very powerful, and I can say for sure that no regeneration quirk would be able to survive against it. Why?)" Kurama curses loudly, making Izuku frown.
"(That's not good. If you are sure that it shouldn't have recovered from that attack, it can only mean that chakra, or at least that beast corrupted chakra, can empowder quirks.)" Izuku widens his eyes, replaying Kurama words in his mind over and over again.
"(It makes sense! When Nomu used that version of our chakra cloak, it got stronger, but a lot more stronger than the boost that I can get from 1 or 2 tails of chakra, that means it also empowered the strength quirk. And it can also explain how it survived that attack with minimal damage and then ran out of chakra.)"
"(While I'm shocked and glad that you didn't go into a muttering spree.)" The fox ignores Izuku's indignant yell. "(That's not a good thing, because Nomu has multiple quirks. Either the man who has the beast knows how to take quirks from someone and transplant into another person or…)" A chill ran down Izuku's spine when he thought of the second possibility.
"(The man has the ability to steal quirks.)"
"(And you know exactly who once had that ability.)" The perks of being a vigilante is that, sometimes, you end up gathering some information from villains. Be it the local or time where a trigger deal will happen, places where they left a kidnapped person, and even information about other villains.
Izuku once heard a legend about a villain in his patrols. One that had risen up way back in the dawn of the quirks, and took advantage of the chaos that the world was going through at the time to increase his power and influence. He heard that he was the most powerful and dangerous villain of the world. At first, he dismissed those legends, not believing that to be real since there weren't reports of people losing their quirks, but now…
"(If that's case, then that man… is the same legendary villain from the dawn of quirks.)"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
A few hours later, Izuku found himself lying on the couch thinking about the USJ and the hate beast. When he arrived home after telling countless times to Recovery Girl that he was fine, he quickly found himself swarmed by his mother. He felt really guilty when he saw how worried she was for him, but that guilt lessened when she told him that a man called Yagi Toshinori passed by and told her that he was fine.
'Need remember to thank All Might next time I see him.' Izuku thought amused. A year ago he never expected to even meet All Might. Now he has HIS contact on his phone, and even sees the man everyday.
But when he saw Uraraka, the guilt doubled. After reassuring her that he was alright and (mostly) healed, she grabbed him in a bone crushing hug, thankfully she reminded herself to not touch him with all her five fingers.
Izuku remembers that she was already worried about him after she thought he died when Kurogiri trapped his clone (And he blushed when he remembered how his clone comforted Uraraka). And just when she was starting to feel better, he appeared in front of her, badly hurt, and this time it was the real him and not a clone.
After comforting and reassuring both of them that he was fine, Izuku decided to lie down on the couch. Tired from the day and yet, not being able to sleep.
"(A villain that is already dangerous due to his own quirk now possess the hate beast on his control…)" Izuku sincerely hopes that he is wrong and the man doesn't have a quirk like that, and the Nomu was a result of countless of experiments. But it's like Kurama said, pray for the best and prepare for the worst.
"(Considering that the villain is old, we should talk to Yagi about it.)"
Izuku frowns in confusion. "(Why would he know about that villain?)"
"(Name a villain or even a hero that could have beaten or even fought in equal grounds against Yagi before he received his injury.)" Izuku thought hard about that question, but he didn't find an answer. Hell, not even Endeavor could hold his own against All Might before his injury.
Taking his silence as an answer, Kurama nodded. "(Exactly. Only a very powerful villain could have given that wound to him. Considering that One for All is a unique quirk, I doubt that a single quirk would be enough to give him that wound.)" That makes sense in his opinion.
Izuku sighs. Great, this was supposed to be his day off from patrolling to rest and yet he can't fall asleep.
"(Hey Kurama.)" He heard the fox grunt. "(How was your life in the other world? I mean, before coming here?)"
"(Maybe I will tell you another time, now I want to sleep.)"
"(C'mon Kurama, I'm having trouble to fall asleep and I'm bored!)"
"(I miss the part where that's my problem.)" Izuku's eye twitched, but he forced himself to calm down.
"(Is this revenge for what I said before? When you told me you are the strongest tailed beast?)" Izuku doesn't hear a reply, making him more annoyed "(OI! Don't you dare cut your connection with me!)" When he didn't hear a reply, Izuku muttered something about 'old, revengeful fox' before getting up to drink some water.
On his way, he passed through his bedroom and heard noises coming from inside. Worried, but not crazy enough to barge in while there is a guest there, especially when said guest is a girl, he knocks on the door. "Occhan? Is everything alright?" Izuku was sure that he heard her yelp before something fell.
Before he could ask again, Uraraka spoke. "Uh, err, I'm okay! Don't worry Izu-kun, you should go back to sleep and rest!" Izuku frowns and looks at the clock, surprised when he sees how late it was.
'Good thing we don't have school tomorrow.' Although he inwardly cried when he remembered that if he patrolled today, he would have the perfect excuse to sleep the day off.
Izuku shakes his head and sighs. "Can't sleep either?"
"Oh ! It's just that… uh, I was finishing my homework." Izuku rolls his eyes at that excuse.
"I see, but it is strange… We have gone to UA only for three days, and I'm completely sure that there wasn't any homework until now." Izuku didn't need to see through the walls to know that Uraraka stiffened at his reply.
"Well-uh, you see…" Uraraka stammers another excuse, but Izuku shakes his head. Years of knowing Uraraka made him aware that when she was sad, she would either play it off with a fake smile or make an excuse to be alone.
"I'm coming in, ok?" He waited three seconds for any reply, but when he didn't hear any, he opened the door, and saw something that made him confused.
Uraraka, who was wearing her Thirteen themed pajamas that Izuku gifted her as a birthday present, was sitting on the bed facing the door.
Izuku coughs, both to clear his embarrassment of seeing Uraraka in her pajamas (which, in his opinion, makes her even more cute) and the fact that he was, technically, in a girl's room.
"So, uh, how do you like the room? D-Do you need anything else?" He asked while looking around his room. Without all the All Might merchandise, it almost seems like this isn't his room. While Uraraka said that she didn't mind it and there was no need to remove, both Midoriyas disagreed and Izuku, with the help of his clones, removed any and all All Might posters and merchandise. Of course, Uraraka did ask to keep a few of Thirteen merchandise that he owned.
What can she say? She found some of them really beautiful and well made.
Uraraka shakes her head while shuffling a little, feeling a bit nervous too. That's when Izuku noticed something strange. Uraraka had her hands behind her, and that made Izuku a bit suspicious.
"Occhan, what are you hiding there?"
Uraraka looks everywhere except Izuku's eyes, sweating profusely. "W-What do you mean? I'm not hiding anything!" Izuku raised an unamused eyebrow. Seeing that Izuku wouldn't budge, Uraraka sighed and showed two training weights that she was hiding. Connecting the dots, Izuku frowned.
"Occhan, why were you training so late at night?"
Uraraka looks away to hide the tears in the corner of her eyes. "It's just that… when I saw you at USJ badly hurt, and just before that I saw your clone dying and thought it was you, I just… couldn't help but feel useless." She looks at her hand.
"I mean, I am supposed to be All Might's successor, and instead of helping you to fight, I just… stayed behind while you risked your life to fight the villains." When Izuku saw her teary eyes, his heart clenched.
"Am I… the right choice for One For All?" Before Izuku could even think, he was hugging Uraraka with all the strength he had.
"Ochako." Izuku spoke, deadly serious. "I can say without any doubt that you are worthy of One for All." Uraraka opened her mouth to refute him, but he continued.
"You are the most caring, smart, kind person I know. Your reason to be a hero already makes you worthy of being All Might successor. And besides," Izuku looks at her in the eyes with a smile.
"You did your best at the USJ. I'm pretty sure that If it wasn't for you, Iida wouldn't have managed to escape and call for help. So, in the end, you also saved us!" After he said that, Izuku realized how close his face was to hers and quickly jumped back.
"S-Sorry if I made you uncomfortable ! I-I mean, I didn't want you feeling sad a-about the USJ a-and I acted without thinking ! I-I guess I should le-" Izuku was interrupted when he felt Uraraka giving him a tight hug, which he unconsciously returned.
"Thank you Izu-kun." Izuku smiles, despite the blush coloring his cheeks.
"It's alright, Occhan, because I am here." Was it cheesy that he quoted All Might? Yes. Did it work? Yes, if her small giggle meant anything.

"(Do you want to talk about what happened last night?)" Izuku flinches. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but he was refilling his paper tag stockage, and his flinch made him lose concentration and pumped more chakra than he meant to, resulting in the paper tag blowing up.
Judging by Kurama chuckles, the fox did mean that to happen. Cleaning his face, Izuku picks up another paper to start again. "(What do you mean? I wasn't being able to fall asleep and, as the traitor fox you are, left me alone with my struggle!)"
"(Oh, that's right. It also was one of the best sleeps I've ever had.)" Izuku rolls his eyes at the taunt. The only thing he was glad about Kurama abandoning him to sleep was that he didn't see what he told Uraraka.
But unaware to the jinchuuriki, the biju saw everything that happened that night. If Izuku could see his face, he would see the big smirk that the fox was wearing.
When Izuku started to infuse chakra into the paper, Kurama spoke once again. "(If you don't want to talk about the night before, then mind telling me how did you end up sleeping with your girlfriend?)" After Kurama said that, two things happened. Izuku blushed so hard that Kurama thought he was going to faint, and the paper tag blew up once again, throwing him on the ground.
"(COULDN'T YOU HAVE WORDED IT ANOTHER WAY?!)" Izuku grits his teeth when he hears Kurama laughing in his head.
"(Then where would be the fun of asking it?)" Izuku gets up and cleans the smoke out of his face, not bothering to heal his cuts since Kurama is already doing that.
Knowing that Kurama will purposely break his focus, Izuku creates ten shadow clones to make the paper tag. Meanwhile, Izuku sits down before picking up his notebook.
"(Won't try to increase your control over the chakra cloak?)"
"(Will you allow me to?)"
Kurama shrugs, not that Izuku could see it. "(Sure, I already know everything that happened last night anyway. I was just messing with you.)" Izuku nods, but then he widens his eyes when he registers what Kurama said.
"(Wait what?! But weren't you sleeping?!)"
"(I was going to, but I decided to stay and watch to see if anything interesting happened. Good thing I did.)" Izuku almost facepalms. Why didn't he expect something like that?
In truth, Izuku really didn't mean to fall asleep while hugging Uraraka. When he woke up and saw that he was holding her, he panicked. And the worst part? She woke up not too much later than him, which didn't give him time to think of a way to escape. Not to mention how awkward the breakfast was, with the two looking away from each other with a blush. It didn't help that his mom had a knowing look in her eyes.
"(Now that I think about it, wasn't the blanket on the ground when I arrived… Oh crap)"
He couldn't suppress his relief when he finally left his house to go train at the forest, hoping that training or even refilling his paper tags would help to get his mind out of that. But it seems that Kurama was keen on reminding him.
"(I guess I should practice the chakra cloak later. Now, I wanted to ask if you know any other jutsus for me to train.)" Kurama hums thoughtfully, which made Izuku inwardly glad that the fox decided to stop teasing him.
"(I know a few earth style jutsus, but considering that you struggled to use them, better focus on lighting, wind and fire styles.)"
"(Speaking about that, is it possible for me to learn them at later date?)"
"(Well, to be fair I'm surprised that you managed to learn three jutsus of different elements without much trouble. Every ninja back in my world has one affinity, be it water, earth, fire, lightning or wind. The thing about them is that while you can learn and use all the five elements, unless you are born with more than one affinity, it will be harder to learn a different element affinity, let alone master all of them.)" Izuku nodded while writing everything Kurama said.
"(So I can also learn water and earth style jutsus, but it will be harder than what I already learned since they are not my affinity.)"
"(Correct, and unfortunately we don't have a way to know which one exactly is your affinity. It would require a special paper that belongs to my world.)" Izuku sighs, but isn't too disappointed by that information.
"(So instead of trying to learn to use the earth and water, I should focus on learning more jutsus about the elements I can use right now.)" Izuku writes about the three elements he can use and under them, the jutsus he already has.
"(We can try either create new jutsus by using those that you already knows, or you can try recreate a few jutsus I know from my world.)" Izuku frowns. Creating new jutsus while he has a few that he still needs to master leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
"(About mastering those that still need work, you can use your shadow clones to help you. Remember that everything they learn goes to you when they vanish.)" Izuku nods, but he inwardly cringes at the thought of using many clones to speed up his training. The pain of receiving all of their information isn't exactly pleasant. Izuku then looks around the forest.
"(That solves one problem, but what about the training place? Rasenshuriken and Lightning Hurricane are both powerful and dangerous jutsus, and I don't need to say why using fire jutsus in a forest isn't a good idea.)"
"(Doesn't your school have those mock cities? Maybe you can use them to train. Another option would be that beach, but considering that people are starting to go there since It was cleaned…)"
"(Maybe I could talk with Aizawa-sensei or All Might to see if I can… Now, do you know any jutsu that I can try to use?)" Izuku said while waiting for his partner to speak before writing in the notebook.

While Izuku was discussing with Kurama about new jutsus, Uraraka was walking around Takoba beach. Thinking about the USJ or, more specifically, at what she did to Kurogiri.
'I'm sure that my quirk never increased the gravity of what I touch, but…' Uraraka's mind flashed back to when she touched Kurogiri. How he didn't float and instead sunk into the ground.
Uraraka picks up a small rock that was on the ground and uses her quirk on it, making it float in her hand. 'First it takes longer than before until I start to feel nauseous, and now I can increase the gravity of what I touch? One for All truly is an odd quirk. I wonder what will happen next? Will I be able to control the gravity of what I touch? Will I-"
"Young Uraraka!" The ninth user flinched when he heard a familiar voice shouting her name behind her. Turning around, she saw the skeletal form of All Might wearing an amused expression.
"Yagi-san! What are you doing here?"
Yagi shrugs. "I was taking a walk around Takoba, admiring the beauty of the beach when I saw you muttering to yourself. For a second, I almost thought it was young Midoriya." He finished with a chuckle, which Uraraka also weakly chuckled while blushing when he mentioned Izuku.
"Y-Yeah, I t-think I may be contaminated by his mutterings."
"Then I must be careful around him, or else I may end up muttering to myself while teaching or worse, on the TV." That made Uraraka genuinely giggle at the thought of All Might muttering on the TV just like Izuku.
"But enough about me young Uraraka, I want to know how you are doing. Are you doing well?" Uraraka nodded.
"The USJ was a scary experience, but it's okay now. I would like to say that I wouldn't want to go through something like that again, but as a heroine, that is bound to happen again." Yagi nodded.
"That's right. As a hero you may find yourself in the same or perhaps worse situations than the USJ. That's why you should never give up and always smile in the face of fear."
"How can you do that, Yagi-san?" Seeing his confused expression, Uraraka elaborates. "Always smile in the face of danger?"
Yagi sighs and looks at the ocean. "There is plenty of fear behind my smile, young Uraraka. I smile both to hide my fears and to comfort those that I must save, but sometimes not even I can keep my smile." Uraraka's mind flashes back to the USJ. When All Might appeared, he wasn't smiling. Instead, he was angry, very angry.
Uraraka also focuses her gaze to the ocean. "Yagi-san, did you ever have a moment where, even with the power of One for All, you felt useless for not being able to do anything?" While Uraraka was thinking about the USJ, Yagi was thinking about something else entirely.
"All Might, I'm counting on you!"
He shakes his head to get rid of the memory before nodding. "Yes, there were times that I couldn't help but feel useless for not being able to do anything, even with the power of One for All."
Uraraka wanted to ask about it, but she saw the sadness in her master's eyes and decided to change the subject as quickly as possible. "Oh! There was something I wanted to ask you, Yagi-san!"
"What is it, young Uraraka?"
"It's about something that happened at the entrance exams. I expected that I would feel nauseous since my quirk, Zero Gravity, makes me sick if I overuse it, but I barely felt sick during the entire exam! Not only that, but at the USJ when I used my quirk on one of the villains, he didn't float and instead sunked on the ground! That never happened before with my quirk." Yagi hums while rubbing his chin.
"It's probable that due to receiving One for All, it increased your original quirk power and made it stronger. A quirk awakening of sorts."
"Izuku also thought that it was a result of One for All." Uraraka blushes slightly and coughs on her hand to mask it. "Did any of the past users or even you had gone through that, Yagi-san ?"
"I remember that my master did say that her quirk had gotten stronger when she received One for All. Is it possible that it happens with everyone should they receive the quirk." Uraraka hums, missing the sadness in his voice when speaking of his master.
"And what about you? Did you go through that too?"
Yagi only chuckled. "No young Uraraka. Unlike my predecessors, I was born quirkless." That made Uraraka look at him with a gasp. The strongest hero was quirkless? Seeing her expression, Yagi chuckled again.
"That's right, young Uraraka. Before meeting my master and receiving One For All, I was quirkless. But that didn't mean I was planning on giving up on becoming a hero." Looking at the past brings back a lot of memories, both good and bad. Thankfully more good than bad.
Uraraka nodded and returned her gaze to the ocean, thinking about the recent events. All Might, the symbol of peace, was once quirkless. But still, that didn't stop him from achieving his dream of becoming a hero.
'Then, I must train much more. Not only as All Might successor, but because I don't want to feel useless like the USJ.' Uraraka shakes her head to get rid of the sight of Izuku's badly hurt body, and turns to look back at All Might with a determined expression.
"Yagi-san, please help me train!" The disguised hero was taken back by her exclamation.
"I need to train, and much harder than before. I want to master One for All, and become stronger to protect everyone! Please, Yagi-san." Uraraka bows to him.
"Please help me to get stronger!"
At first, Yagi doesn't say anything, but then he buffs into his hero form and lets out a booming laugh. "HA HA HA! THAT'S THE SPIRIT YOUNG URARAKA! YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO ASK, BUT I'M GLAD THAT YOU ARE DETERMINED TO GROW STRONGER!" Uraraka looked up and saw All Might giving her a thumbs up.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY! I WILL START PLANNING A GOOD TRAINING SCHEME FOR YOU!" Maybe it was the fact that he used to buff up when Uraraka was cleaning Takoba, but he forgot that there were a few people on the beach. And when he realized that, he sweatdropped.
'Shit! I forgot about them!'
And Uraraka also realized that people noticed that All Might himself was in Takoba beach. Thankfully there weren't a lot of people, but that didn't mean they wouldn't take pictures and post it on the internet.
All Might also realized that, if his next words meant anything. "NOW! YOUNG AND DEDICATED FAN, I MUST RUN!" He was careful to shout aloud that Uraraka was just a fan, and not someone he personally knew.
Uraraka watched as the hero crouched and jumped away, unaware of his thoughts.
'I'm glad that you are determined to grow stronger, young Uraraka. Because my power grows weaker each second. And if All for One is truly back and I'm not able to finish him off for good this time, then I will make sure that you will be stronger than me!' All Might isn't planning to die against his nemesis, but just wanting to win isn't enough to actually win.

Izuku doesn't know exactly when their discussion about jutsus changed to the topic of Kurama life before they met, but hey, he isn't complaining to figure out more about Kurama and his world.
"(Wait, so they were afraid of you and your siblings, and sealed all of you into humans that are called Jinchuuriki?)"
"(Yes. My first vessel was a woman named Uzumaki Mito, the First Hokage wife. Then, it was Uzumaki Kushina and after her, Uzumaki Naruto.)" Izuku didn't miss the soft tone when speaking about the last, but he had other questions.
"(So, are all of them related? Considering that all of them has the Uzumaki in their name, it seems like they are.)"
Right now, they were walking home. It wasn't too late yet, but considering how worried his mother was due to the USJ, he would rather not put her under more stress.
So, after talking a bit about jutsus, replying to his friends texts that he was alright, arguing with Kurama who was snickering at the fact that he didn't remember replying to his friends until the fox reminded him, they ended up starting talking about Kurama world.
The fox told him a little about his siblings, villages and the kages. Now he was telling him about his own life.
"(Not sure about Mito, but Kushina was Naruto's mother. They share the same name due to being of the same clan.)" Izuku hummed. He needs to remember to ask Kurama about those clans later.
"(Can you tell me a bit about them?)" Kurama shrugs, not that Izuku could see it.
"(Mito was the first Hokage wife, and she was one of the strongest kunoichi that I know. Both because of her skills, and because she was one of the few strong enough that could safely become my Jinchuuriki.)" Izuku frowns in confusion.
"(Strong enough? What do you mean?)"
"(Like my siblings, a weak person can't handle my chakra being entirely sealed on them, but unlike them, the jinchuuriki had to be strong both in body to handle my massive quantity of chakra, and in mind if he wanted to use my chakra.)"
"(But I wasn't exactly a strong person when we met, though. I didn't even had chakra or a quirk.)" This time it was Kurama who rolled his eyes.
"(While it is true that you were weak, small, scrawny and a crybaby, well, you still is a crybaby.)" His eyebrow twitched at every insult, no matter how truthful they were. "(I wouldn't exactly call you weak in the mind part, considering that you still wished to be a hero despite everything. But at that point, I was willing to work together with you instead of thinking of a way to escape. Believe me, it would be a lot different if I wasn't.)" And unlike with Naruto and the other two, he wasn't exactly sealed, but tied to his soul. Although he probably would end up working together with Izuku anyway, considering that it was a request from Hagoromo.
"(Makes sense.)" Izuku idly wondered how Kurama acted in the past. If his words meant anything, he wasn't exactly on friendly terms with his past jinchuurikis.
"(Kushina was the one chosen to be my host after Mito, considering that she had a special chakra that could handle me.)" Kurama grumbled when remembering his time with that woman. At least he wasn't tied with chains when sealed inside Naruto.
"(If your voice tells me anything, it wasn't a pleasant experience when you were with her?)" Kurama huffed.
"(Oh no, it was perfect! Aside from being tied in chains and having my hands, feet and tails stabbed in wood stakes!)" Izuku winced. Yeah, it definitely wasn't a good time for him.
"(What about your other jinchuuriki, Naruto? Was he also chosen because he had an special kind of chakra too?)" That would make sense, considering that Naruto was Kushina's son, he could also have the same, or at least, stronger chakra than a normal person.
"(Not exactly… You see, unlike male Jinchuurikis, there is a moment where the seals are weakened in the females, and that is during the childbirth. While she was birthing Naruto, a masked man attacked and managed to extract me from her.)" Izuku nodded. It would make sense considering childbirth Is already a delicate process, it is expected that the seal would weaken.
"(Although I was free, it didn't last much time. That man put me under a genjutsu with his sharingan, a powerful doujutsu that I will explain more later.)" He quickly said the last part with a firm tone when he saw the curious glint in his eyes. Izuku, knowing that Kurama could very well stop telling his story if he pressed on, didn't interrupt him.
"(He controlled me and made me destroy Konoha, the village I told you about before.)" Izuku stiffened. If that's true, then many people died. He may not know the full extent of Kurama's abilities, but the fox was very powerful.
As if reading his mind, Kurama nodded. "(It took the whole village and the Third Hokage to stall me. Of course, Minato, Naruto father and the Fourth Hokage, teleported me away from Konoha when he defeated the masked man, which freed me from his control.)" Izuku nodded along the story. Kurama faced a whole village and two hokages, which were, without a doubt, far more stronger than he is currently. And he isn't stupid enough to believe that no one died in the fight, but he doesn't blame Kurama for those deaths, considering he was being controlled by the masked man.
Kurama continued. "(Kushina was still alive, but she wouldn't last much longer. Having a Biju forcefully extracted is a death sentence to anyone, but due to her Uzumaki lineage, she was still alive, but badly wounded. Minato couldn't seal me on her again, since she would probably die and so would I, but not for too long. So, Minato decided to split my chakra in two and sealed half on him and half on Naruto. Of course, after finally being free, I wouldn't let them seal me so easily, especially on a random baby, so I tried to kill Naruto.)" Kurama could have omitted the part where he tried to kill Naruto and ended up killing his parents, but he wanted to see something.
Izuku was shocked that he was capable of killing an innocent baby, but he didn't interrupt him and waited for the end.
"(Minato and Kushina sacrificed themselves and saved the baby, whose half of me ended up being sealed.)" Kurama finished. Truth is, a small part of him was slightly afraid of how Izuku would react to his past. Sure, he still believes that many humans are still scum, but he can see that there are some that are different, even before meeting Naruto, but his hate and anger blinded him. It was only thanks to Naruto that he realized that not all humans are the same.
"(So, got anything to say?)" Izuku was silent, thinking about what Kurama just said to him. The fox just told him that he tried to kill Naruto, a baby who didn't do anything bad, in cold blood, and instead killed his parents, making him an orphan.
'But… Can I really blame him?' After being trapped for how long he was inside Mito and Kushina, the latter was even painful, it was obvious that Kurama would hate them, and even the whole village. After being freed after so long, he obviously wouldn't want to be trapped again, but he was not excusing his actions. He knew that the Kurama from the past is not the Kurama that was inside of him, that taught him and fought alongside him.
And after taking a deep breath, Izuku finally answered. "(I will be honest. If I was told this when I was ten or eleven, I didn't think that I would forgive you. But… You taught me that not everything is just black and white. While I do not excuse your attempt to kill an innocent baby, I can understand that you were angry and hated the idea of being sealed again, especially with how painful it was when you were with Kushina. But that Kurama isn't you anymore, right? Or else, as you said, you wouldn't help me. You would probably try to manipulate or even kill me to free yourself, right?)" Kurama winced a little. He may could have done that, considering how much he hated humanity, but chances were low considering that this was Hagoromo's request.
Izuku didn't wait for a reply, not that he was expecting one. "(What I meant to say is that I don't care about your past. You are my friend and partner, so I don't care what you did, only what you will do.)"
Kurama let out a scoff. "(Like I need your forgiveness or anything like that.)" He then cut their connection, but Izuku could see that it was just empty words. He knew that Kurama cared, he was just putting up his tsundere act.
And Izuku was right. Kurama was smirking while being slightly proud of Izuku. 'Heh, this kid just keeps surprising me. Instead of hating me for what I did, he forgave me and didn't change his opinion about me.' Kurama admits that this was a small test to see his reaction about that day. That's why he didn't tell him about Naruto's life yet, or that the boy had forgiven him for that night.
Izuku kept walking in silence. While he did mean what he said that he doesn't care about his partner's past, he couldn't help but feel curious. Kurama hated humanity, so what made him change?
After a while Kurama suddenly spoke. "(This will be interesting.)" Izuku could hear his smirk, and was confused by those words. But soon he understood what he meant, because he saw Uraraka not too far away.
Izuku was tempted to use the Shunshin to avoid talking with her, but that plan was long gone when he took too long to act and Uraraka saw him.
Both of them froze, and started to blush while avoiding each other's gaze. Izuku really wished that his past self had used Shunshin, now he has to deal with this awkward situation.
"(But if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure you enjoyed falling asleep while holding her close. In fact, I believe that a part of you didn't even want to leave the bed.)" Kurama's words only made Izuku blush even further.
"(SHUT UP! YOU ARE NOT HELPING!)" His only reply was laughter. Kurama admits that it's fun to tease his jinchuuriki with the fact that he has a crush on the Uraraka girl, even if he refuses to admit it.
"H-Hey." Izuku managed to say, sounding as if he used all of his strength to speak.
"Hey…" Uraraka was in a similar situation, but slightly better than Izuku. Neither of them said anything else for a few seconds.
"Can we/I'm sorry-" They said at the same time, and both let out a small chuckle at that.
"You can go first Deku-kun." Izuku smiled slightly at his 'new' nickname, knowing that Ochako isn't using it as an insult.
"Sorry for…" Izuku tried to think on how to word it.
"(Sleeping with you)" Izuku thanked all the gods and even Hagoromo himself for managing to not speak that sentence out aloud.
"(SHUT! UP!)"
"(What? I'm just trying to help.)" Kurama said, but Izuku could imagine the fox smirking at him, with red orbs full of amusement.
Taking a deep breath, Izuku tried again. "I'm sorry for… Falling asleep with you. I didn't mean to, and I shouldn't have entered your room at that time in the first place." He was a little surprised that he didn't stutter a single time, despite how nervous he was.
"It's okay, Deku-kun, it's not your fault. And besides," Her blush intensified a little. "I-I wouldn't mind if we s-shared the bed again." She said with her voice barely a whisper, but Izuku heard it clearly, resulting in his own blush also intensifying.
"Wha- B-But…" Kurama had to roll his eyes, and resist the urge to say something.
'Hard to believe that this guy is the same one that fought Nomu head on and works as a vigilante at night.'
"Y-You are the guest here! I-I shouldn't intruse in your room!" He said, after he finally stopped spluttering.
"B-But you wouldn't be intrusing! I-It would be just sharing the bed! Y-You don't have to if you don't want to!"
"E-Even then, I-I don't think it would be a good idea."
"Deku-kun, you do know that it wasn't the first time we fell asleep on the same bed, right?" Despite her own blush and nervousness, she couldn't resist teasing the grenette even a little.
"Yeah! But… it's different this time…" Izuku said weakly. They were children, barely 11 years old when they did, and now they are teens. He doesn't believe it is a good idea to… share a bed.
"A-And besides, I-I don't think my mom would approve." He knew that it was a weak excuse, considering how they woke up with a blanket covering them, and Inko eyeing them with a knowing look when they had breakfast.
Uraraka's deadpan expression, despite her blush, confirmed that it was a stupid excuse, and he could even feel that Kurama also knew that it was a pathetic attempt.
"(Just give up, kid. And besides, why are you trying so hard to refuse? I don't need to remind you that you enjo-)" "(No! You don't need to remind me!)" In the end, Izuku sighed.
"B-But, are you really sure that it wouldn't be a bother? I don't mind sleeping on the couch, really!" That was a small lie. The couch was a bit uncomfortable, especially with his sore body from fighting the Nomu, but it wasn't that bad.
"N-No, you wouldn't. A-And you don't have to do it if you don't want to, you know?" Izuku sighed.
"Ok… we can try, but if you regret it later, then you tell me, ok?" Uraraka nodded, and the duo decided to walk home together. The previous awkwardness disappearing as the two started to talk about their day. Uraraka was training before they met, nothing too hard though, just a few push ups and a small jog. Izuku told her about a few jutsus that he was planning to create, and how he was stocking more of his paper tag, since he had run out of it.
"I always was curious about those paper tag things. How does it work?"
"To put it simply, I create them by drawing the kanji 'baku' on paper and infusing my chakra on the kanji. They can only explode if I do a specific hand seal or by lighting them on fire." Uraraka nodded along.
"So you can make grenades without using gunpowder?"
"Yeah, but it needs focus, or it will blow up in my face. Believe me, it was rough in the beginning." Both of them winced. Izuku because he remembered every attempt that resulted in an explosion in the beginning, and Uraraka because she tried to imagine Izuku working on them, and the tags exploding on his face.
"Oh, I was thinking if it was possible for me to use some of them as a support item."
Izuku shrugs. "I don't see why not, although you would need a way to use fire to activate them. Maybe a lighter?" Uraraka had a dumbfounded expression, and Izuku only replied with a confused one. "What?"
"D-Didn't you just say that you can detonate them by using a hand seal? Wouldn't you end up detonating mine by accident if I keep them?"
Izuku shook his head. "Not exactly. I need to focus slightly on the paper tag that I wish to detonate. If I just needed the hand seal alone then it would end up detonating every time I try to use a jutsu that has this specific hand seal." Uraraka made an understanding expression, which made Izuku let out a small chuckle.

Izuku adjusts his kitsune mask while gazing at the city from the top of the building.
"(Anything yet, Kurama?)"
"(Nothing for now, better keep moving around.)" Izuku nodded and jumped to the next building.
While he accepted sharing the bed with Uraraka, he still was very nervous about it, and there was also the slight issue of his vigilantism. He could have taken the day off again, considering that he was still a bit sore, but decided against it for two reasons.
The main one is to not risk someone connecting the dots. It is paranoiac to think that having one more day off than usual may allow someone to figure out who he is, or at least make the connection that he is a heroic course student from UA? Maybe, but Izuku would rather not risk it.
The second one is because of what Kurama told him about the beast, and how he planned for Izuku to seek any clues about it, or at least, see if he could sense any kind of chakra. It never happened in all those years, but this time may be different, considering the Nomu and the fact that he's actively searching for it too.
To avoid the issue, Izuku had create a clone and hid himself until it was around the hour that he became active. He was glad that he avoided consciously sharing a bed with Uraraka, at least for now, considering that he will receive the memories of his clone by the morning.
Even though he didn't feel any chakra, be it evil like the nomu or not, the criminals were more active tonight. Izuku had already stopped 2 drug deals and a thief, and it was only after an hour of being active.
"(Kid, I'm feeling something, but if I'm not wrong, then you must hurry, and be careful.)" Izuku frowned at the serious tone in his partner's voice, but instead of questioning, he decided to quickly follow the directions to arrive, but what he saw shocked him to the core.
A hero, one that Izuku knew very little about since he was a bit recent in joining the pro hero work. His name was the Hidden Hero: Shadow Mist. Izuku heard that he got stronger the more his surroundings were dark. Considering his quirk, being an underground hero was ideal for him.
Said hero had many cuts around his arms and a large cut across his chest, and his eyes were closed, making it impossible to know if he was still alive or not, Izuku hoped that he was.
But the figure that was looking at the dead hero was what made Izuku pale. A scarf just as red as the blood covering his sword, a headband covering forehead, and red eyes that locked in Izuku when he realized the jinchuuriki was there.
"A child at this place?" The man said, glaring at Izuku, who did his best to not flinch. This person…
"Leave, I do not have time for you."
It was the Hero Killer:Stain.
Chapter end.

Phew, I finally finished this goddamned chapter. Man, it was a little hard, but finally did it.
Now Izuku knows the truth about Kurama and that there is another beast out there, and is learning more about Kurama's world and past. Truth to be told, I was a bit torn about their interaction when Izuku learned about the night of Naruto's birth. I tried to write it again, but it just kept getting worse, so I decided to leave this way.
And look at that! The Hero Killer meeting Izuku (As a vigilante) right now? Bet you didn't expect that! (Or did… who knows?)
And I must say, don't you hate it when you try to focus on something, but your brain just gives you ideas that are too good, but you don't want to add more things to do? Yup, that happened to me when writing this chapter! I was playing Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade and look at that! I got DE Megumi! Yay! (No Yuta, though, but at least I got Teen Gojo) And while I was testing him with some boss, I was also watching Mahou Shoujo Akogarete (A really good anime to bring the whole family together to watch, trust me) and my mind just said "Hmmm, what if Megumi somehow ended up in Mahou Shoujo Akogarete?" And ta-da! That damned idea wouldn't get off my head, and would get in the way of writing this chapter!
(Seriously, I finished an entire chapter, with more or less 15k of words for that story of Megumi in Akogarete!)
So if the chapter seems bad, here is my excuse! Blame it on my brain!
Oh and fun fact: that little hero OC at the end? His name was literally based on(more like outright copied) a Yugioh GX card called Elemental Hero: Shadow Mist, because as I said, I suck at names.
Now, for the reviews!
Monster king: Here is it buddy, glad that you like this story!
Freedomringer: man, power scaling sucks, and glad to know that you believe I did a good job on handling it here, and I will do my best to keep following it here. Now, about Ochako… don't worry, she will be better at the sports festival… hopefully… who knows what my future self will write… and… I still don't get what 'coining' means :(
Realoverlord76: And since when you were under the impression that I wasn't eight years old?
Nah, joking. Sorry about the grammar and all that in the beginning. It was mainly because I wrote on the fanfiction app itself (A big mistake, really. Picking another app was the best decision I made. Not only that, it helps to correct some spelling mistakes, and I don't have to worry about the app screwing my chapter and erasing half of it and duplicating the beginning of the story.) Sure, there was the detail that my English was (And still is) Less than good, but I guess I made a huge improvement… right? Hopefully yes…
Projecticeman: Yes, 4 tails Naruto did that, but it was the version 2 of the cloak, and Izuku was wearing the version 1, it would be another story if Izuku were to use ver 2. Now, about your question of All for One and chakra… That's a really good question! And it's so good that I can't answer because it would spoil the future!
Tsuety.lynnt: Glad that you liked this story so far, and about the update schedule… no I don't have one. I just write when I want (and sometimes, I don't make any progress in the chapters at all.) And post when finished. But I try, at least, to update one of my fics per month.
VENOMfir3: Depende, vamo testar o teu portugues ae. Manda uma redação do enem com o tema desse ano (ou do ano passado, dependendo de quando eu postar o capítulo) e não vale chatGPT.
Viruz pirata: I didn't get what you said… at all.
NEWTON RYBACK:Here it is buddy.
Whitemare: There ya go.
Guest: Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think I will give the sage mode to Izuku even if it was possible, considering that KCM 1 and 2 is already pretty op both here and in Naruto verse. If I were to give him sage mode, and combine it with KCM like Naruto did in the War, well, Izuku would be far too op, and the villains would be screwed, even the hate beast.
(Also?) Guest: No, I don't plan to give him One for All at all. He is already too op with chakra and Kurama, and One for All belongs to Uraraka. (Canon Izuku is already too op himself with 45% and all the other quirks, give all the jutsus and Kurama Chakra from this story to him, and full access to 100% of OFA stockpile and he could probably solo the entire hero and villains from Japan!)
Naedinefebruary2.0: Hey there, glad to know you think that about my fic. Thanks for the offer, but I will stick to just writing here, since this is just for fun (and to get rid of the many, MANY, ideas that just kept popping up in my brain.), but thanks again.
Franciscovirgolinov: Hey buddy, it's a good idea, but I don't plan on writing it. Too many fics for me to manage (and I really don't want more than just those three. Seriously, I'm already fighting myself to not start writing about that Jujutsu x akogarete fic that I spoke up there, and there is also the Dxd one.)
Animeworld2.0: Wait, I saw your channel and you just posted videos of Harry Potter, unless I'm mistaken.
Thunder dragon:Maaaaan so many words, just like the guest! But I read a little and saw that you want challenges… sorry, but I don't write them. As I said, struggling with those 4 stories and the fact that I'm resisting the urge to create more fics. So, no challenges, sorry.
A, e VENOMFIR3, tava brincando sobre a redação do enem, se quiser, pode traduzir e escrever lá (obviamente dando os créditos) mas se quiser postar a redação do enem aqui… bem, esteja livre pra postar.
and I just found out that you can DELETE REVIEWS! FUCKING FINALLY! I CAN DELETE THOSE WEIRDOS FROM BEFORE AND ANY WEIRDO FROM NOW ON! GUEST OR NOT!
Oh, and just before I end this, have you guys watched Sonic 3? Not gonna lie, I loved that movie. No spoilers cause I don't want to ruin it for those who didn't watch it. Just want to tell you guys about a fic that I saw about it.
Green Light in Fate.
A fic where an OC finds a little small and black hedgehog first. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty curious about it and the future. Just asking for you to check on it, and follow it if you enjoy it.
Welp, I guess that's all there is, bye and till the next chapter… goddamn it, now I want to make a sonic movie fic…
