CHAPTER 04: GOING BACK TO THE FALLS
September 26, 2012
9 p.m.
It has been a tiring state of hope, misfortune, and sadness. Though Dipper and Mabel are still okay at their home, they were still tired from being at their Piedmont home after so much has happened already. Their school closed down, Dipper had many premonitions of the future, and many other crazy stuff Dipper cannot explain to human comprehension. If anything, it almost felt as if going downhill was the only route they can take until something exciting happens.
However, since their school closed down, they might have to either go to another school, or go back to Gravity Falls. Dipper and Mabel both hoped they would go back to the falls, since it was what they would only complain about during their stay back at Piedmont. They still had hope that they would go back to the Falls.
Dipper laid down in his bed, doing nothing, while Mabel was looking out the window, counting cars and a sorting them by color, an activity that has somewhat died out in Piedmont, with her being the only one trying to keep the activity alive.
Dipper thought it was great Wendy knew where Dipper and Mabel were staying, but he still had nothing to do other than lay down and stare at a ceiling.
Caryn was on the phone with an unknown person. It was weird how Caryn called someone on her phone because she would only call someone when it was around 10 or 11 in the morning. Dipper and Mabel didn't mind their business or whatever people were doing at all, but a phone call at 8 AM was indeed strange to them.
Dipper and Mabel wondered what Caryn was calling someone about, or if they called them. They didn't know if it was a telemarketer trying to sell a product that sucks more than anything, or maybe it was a job application call. Still, they didn't bother to figure out what it could be. However, it seemed pretty convincing to them still, even though they wouldn't even bother to figure it out.
"What do you think Caryn's talking about on the phone, Mabel?" Dipper asked.
"I don't know, sometimes we don't even bother phone calls," Mabel replied.
'Yeah, you're right, but whatever, it could be interesting, but your guess could be right. I'm really not sure as of right now," Dipper replied.
"Listen, Mabel, if anything, it could be Grunkle Stan or Great Uncle Ford. Still, we have to wait and keep hoping, alright?"
"Alright," Mabel replied.
Dipper and Mabel sat there, on the bed, eavesdropping every second of Caryn's call on the phone. They both didn't know what they were talking about, but they anticipated and tried to decipher what Caryn was saying as they could only hear her voice, but not the voice on the phone, for it was too quiet to even make out. They both leaned against the door to try and find an answer as to what Caryn and the unknown person were talking about. However, Dipper made out an old man's voice, but it was so muffled on the phone that they couldn't make it out. It was too difficult to see what they were even saying.
However, Caryn knocked on the door and opened it.
"Kids?" Caryn said.
"Yes, mom?" Dipper and Mabel replied.
"You're both going back to Oregon!"
Dipper and Mabel were beyond excited. They had been wishing relentlessly to go back to Gravity Falls, Oregon. They ran to their beds and other places (nightstand, wardrobe, drawers etc.) and they packed their suitcases.
"You're both going to stay at Gravity Falls permanently though. I'll only be able to call you in order to get in contact," Caryn said.
They didn't mind if their time back at Oregon was forever, they just wanted to go back.
Dipper and Mabel got their stuff back, and they ran out the door and waved their final goodbye to Caryn and Filbrick.
The two waited for a few minutes until the bus came. They said they were on their way back to Gravity Falls.
So then, they ran in the bus, got to their assigned seats, and leaned by the windows to take a nap as it would take hours to get back to Oregon. Going back to the Falls was a long ride since they lived in Piedmont, a city where only the wealthy and cruel would live. Filbrick himself was more fit for the description since he was a gambler who was responsible for a lot of tax evasions in his years of living cruelly.
*Nine hours passed*
Mabel woke Dipper up as they were finally back in Gravity Falls. They both ran out of the bus, into the pathway into the forest, and there they knew they were finally glad to be back. They found the Mystery Shack. Grunkle Stan, Great Uncle Ford, Wendy Corduroy, and Soos Ramirez welcomed them both. The two saw how the Mystery Shack improved over the past month. There were new attractions, even some of the monsters the twins both encountered were managed to be taxidermied.
"Hey, Dipper, I got a gift for you, come here," Stanford said.
Dipper followed Great Uncle Ford, and he showed Dipper what he got for him.
"If you love monster hunting just as much as we did last summer, then you'll love this book!"
It was a copy of The Island of Doctor Moreau by H. G. Wells. The Island of Doctor Moreau was a book about three men on a boat trip to an unknown island with unknown, grotesque monsters. Dipper seemed anticipated with the plot of the book, and he took it into his room.
Both his and Mabel's room were really updated, with Mabel getting a princess-like bed with fleece curtains on it, while Dipper had a bed with a built-in tree design, with an engraving of the Big Dipper, which he got his nickname. There were all sorts of plant life around his bed, with small trees well-watered and they had a pleasant, earthly smell to them. Dipper loved his bed, and so did Mabel when she walked in later on. Dipper placed his new book on his hand-built bookshelf.
Dipper laid down on his bed, took out his journal, and began to write about his excitement.

Wow. I'm finally back! Finally back at the Falls! I have experienced a bit of trouble, but it really doesn't matter. As I've said, I'm just glad to be back. Our school, Eggbert Elementary, shut down due to bankruptcy threats, and the random woman, who made the threats, won the court case because it was reported that their staff were poorly treated secretly, turning out to be true, and that shocked me more than ever.
I really hope I can live a better life now that I'm back at Oregon.
Signed, Dipper.
P. S.,
To my future self, if you come back to this, just remember, you are still better. Anything bad? Keep re-reading this for comfort.
