bopdog111: Well not completely. We have some filler, and where Yuto and Shark will tell people about their relationship with Kyoji, while Shark gives Yuma the duel Caswell challenged him on.

The next day, they are all back of the pier just watching Yuma duel Shark like Shark had promised. Shark isn't giving Yuma any quarter, and Yuma isn't doing well as he doesn't want Astral's help, and isn't using his Numbers like he had promised at Caswell. Although Yuto does have a frown, even with a Number, Shark is a powerful Duelist, and he certainly still proves that. Almost to where to tell Yuma just to use a Number but Yuma said he isn't going too.
"Xyz Summon! Come on out, Black Ray Lancer!" Emerging was Black Ray Lancer twirling it's spear while they watch this. He has Aero Shark, and the newly summoned Black Ray Lancer while Yuma just has Gogogo Golem.

"Not good." Yuma panicked seeing the monster.
"Now by using an Overlay Unit, Black Ray Lancer shuts down Golem's ability!" Black Ray Lancer fired a wave that enveloped Gogogo Golem stopping it's protection effect. "Now attack Black Ray Lancer!" The monster charged in piercing the spear through the Golem destroying it with ease. "And now Aero Shark attack!" Aero Shark moved chomping down as Yuma yelled out landing hard with a groan.

"Like I thought without a Number, he's poor as a duelist." Caswell spoke with a grin as he said this. Despite being proved too that Astral is real, it only supports Caswell's claim that Yuma is a terrible duelist who needs someone like him to help him duel better.
"That... could have gone better... he dealt some damage at least?" Yuto mentioned trying to be positive.
"Yeah, he managed too... if he hadn't, he wouldn't have been able too." Bronk spoke up that knowing the type of duelist Yuma is probably be unable to deal damage against a strong duelist like Shark. Number or no Number. "Okay, so Yuma, it's official you do need a Number to win duels."
"Hey, I am getting better myself!" Yuma called over still against him being a poor duelist despite this. Then he turned to Shark with a grin. "So Shark up for a rematch!?"
"No thanks, get better first, and then we can do that." Shark spoke over with crossed arms. "Besides, you all are owed an explanation about Kyoji from me, and Yuto. You should be more concerned about that."
"That's right." Yuto nodded frowning slightly.
"Well what did he mean about having no desires?" Tori asked them.
"I have no idea, he definitely had desires... the same as anyone." Shark frowned.
"So why don't we start with the baseline then. Who exactly is Kyoji?"
"He's... a dear friend to me, and Shark." Yuto admitted to them from Astral saying this recalling memories. He then looked down as he speaks of this more. "Me, Shark, and Rio were young when we met each other. We are all in a orphanage together just without parents, and the three of us are really close. Close as brothers."
"Yeah, brothers in arms type of deal." Shark closed his eyes as he spoke about this with crossed arms. He hasn't think about Kyoji in a long time from what had happened back then, so this is gonna be painful/difficult to explain. "He is the one who helped us develop our skills as duelists. We also desire to become Champion Duelists to support the orphanage we've been staying at."
"He was a strict teacher." Yuto smiled softly. "Always pushing us a lot."
"And we also go in tournaments, and Kyoji always wins first place. I always let him win as I think, he carries on the hope, and dreams of us orphans." Shark added over recalling fond memories. "And no matter how much me, and Yuto dueled against him even outnumbered, he had prevailed over us."
"I think the closest I got was... about the same as you did against Shark Yuma." Yuto recalled. "He was in an entirely different league... though he wasn't just a strong duelist he was kind too."
"So... what exactly happened? Why are you three against each other now?"
"Well a few years ago, Kyoji, and I had competed in the Duel Monsters Regional Cup." Shark spoke to Yuma to answer. This event had severed what he had once felt from Kyoji, and the reason why he was gone for a long time. "Kyoji felt that the last opponent would win against us, so... he tried to steal that guy's Deck." Which of course pained Yuto. He had assumed that was some sort of false rumor, but Shark had confirmed that it's actually true after this long.
"I don't know why he did it, and when I asked him he answered that he couldn't let us lose no matter what... even if he had to cheat." Yuto frowned.
"He gotten founded out. I couldn't let him fall from grace, so I ended up taking the blame." Shark admitted with closed eyes. "Kyoji had ran off, and we haven't seen him again after that. Until now that is."
The others looked shocked hearing that.
"Wait, but... that means you never cheated right Shark?" Yuma realized hopefully. "That whole thing at the Nationals... it wasn't really you."
"No it isn't. But he is still my brother, so I wouldn't have him get disgraced after that." Shark turned away with closed eyes. "However, my national career gotten hanged for good if you recall what he had said before."
That made them remember before Shark, and Kyoji dueled each other they had chatted that Kyoji had heard Shark cheated himself not believing it but Shark had confirmed that he really did that doing what Kyoji had done in the past. It was cause he was trying to fight for Rio, Shark's only sister, to pay for her operation but he had gotten discovered, and disqualified as a result. He didn't want to risk losing everything for such an important duel as that final match against someone named Thomas, so he had abandoned his pride as a duelist by seeing his Deck when it fell.
They all looked stunned hearing that before Bronk blinked.
"So that means it all depends on you right Yuto?" he asked only for Yuto to frown.
"No... I'm not even close to that level... I'm still the weakest by far." he confessed.
"Correction Yuto," he perked towards Shark who had turned away from him. "I am now the weakest out of the three of us." Yuto widen his eyes hearing that while Shark closed his eyes. "You did everything fair, and square, but I had cheated in a match to get this far. You, and Kyoji also evolved, your Decks, and learned new skills... meanwhile, I'm just same old, same old. Just a thing in the past, always using what I do best without moving forward."
"That's not true Shark, you're still an incredible duelist." Yuto frowned hearing that. "Besides, there's so much I don't know about Rank-Up cards."
"Well, I don't have any." Shark spoke over with crossed eyes. "And Kyoji has some himself at this point."
"That reminds me, where did you find out about all this Rank-Up-Magic stuff anyway?" Flip asked him.
Yuto shuddered a bit. "I... learned from Shay."
"Oh Shay... Shay Obsidian, Lulu's older brother who's a large rank of Heartland Security?" Caswell recalled from this.
"That's right." Yuto nodded smiling.
"And he's... no offense Lulu, but he's always the scary type." Bronk admitted towards Lulu as Shay has a habit of not being friendly towards anyone not even his close friends (alongside Yuto who is his best friend) except for Lulu.
"He's not that bad." Lulu mentioned only for Flip to suddenly gasp.
"You guys look at this!" he cried showing them a news article about a new deck being shown including an extremely powerful card called Chaos End Ruler - Ruler of the Beginning and the End.
"Oh what's that?" Yuma spoke seeing it.
"It's a really powerful Deck! And within it, is also a powerful card that is really rare with a really powerful effect!"
"Well don't stand there Flip, tell us what it can do." Saya told him.
"Chaos End Ruler - Ruler of the Beginning and the End can't be summoned unless you banish a LIGHT Warrior, and a DARK Fiend from the graveyard, and when it's summoned your opponent can't do anything and once per turn you can pay 1000 life points to banish everything in your opponent's hand, on their field, or in their graveyard and deal 500 damage for every card." Flip answered. "This card could win duels on its own... Number or no Number."
"Oh dear me... if that is used against us... I shudder at the thought." Yuma, Yuto, and Lulu can agree with Astral's words that they would have no chance against whoever uses that card.
Shark frowned slightly hearing that.

Meanwhile at the arcade where they found Shark before...
Both Scorch, and Chills, the two dreadlock, and white suited thugs that they all encountered before were seeing the news article about the Deck themselves. Ever since Shark had humiliated them both in front of the entire gang, they are looking for a way to get payback onto Shark. And seeing this may have just provided that chance they had needed. But they need the culprit, Shark to be there for this plan to work.
"So how do we get him to show up?" Chills questioned.
"I know Shark's type, Chills. We simply drag there here under the assumption that we have some cards worth giving." Scorch held up a card as something glowed on his arm with a smirk. "And when he shows up, we will trip security for him to be taking the blame. This cannot fail."
Chills smirked holding up a card of his own as something glowed on his own arm. "Sounds good, he'll pay for turning his back on us."
Unaware to them, a member of their own was spying on them concerned. Ever since Scorch, and Chills got the cards they have now, they changed, and been getting bolder. And now, their gonna do something really drastic which is something they wouldn't do. Perhaps he can save this pack, if he tries something... but what can he do exactly? He isn't as strong as they are, and they won't listen to the gravity of the situation, if he tries to protest.
But he gets an idea... maybe those kids that came looking for him can assist Shark out of this funk. So he turned heading out to try finding them for the event that will happen tomorrow night. With Yuma and the others they were still talking when Cathy blinked.
"Huh, who's that coming this way?" she asked them.
"Huff, huff..." the guy catch his breath while his hands are on his knees. "Hey... you are... were looking for Shark... right?"
"Weasel?" Shark frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Seeing him, the guy, Weasel yelped in shock, and somewhat fear. "Oh uh, Shark! I didn't see you there!"
"Obviously, so what's going on?" Shark frowned. "You look worse than usual."
"It's Scorch... Scorch, and Chills their planning something really drastic!" Weasel proceeded to tell them about what he had learned. Scorch, and Chills ever since they have some new cards were acting bolder then usual, and are proceeding to steal a Deck that had the Chaos End Ruler card within it, and planned to frame Shark for it as payback for defeating them in front of the pack like he did. They are planning to use the cards they have to lure Shark, and trip security off when he arrives to frame him.
"What kind of cards?" Lulu asked suspiciously. "Did you get a chance to see them?"
"No, I'm sorry, I haven't." Weasel was unable to see what kind of cards they are even though this sounds suspiciously like Number cards.
Shark frowned. "If they want me, then they'll get me."
"Wait a second, didn't you hear him?" Tori frowned. "They're planning on pinning all of this on you, what about your sister?"
"...If something does happen to me, then she'll be Yuto's responsibility. There is no-one I trust more to take care of her then Yuto."
"Maybe there's something else we can do." Lulu pointed out. "What if we flipped this on them instead?"
"Flipped them?" Saya looked confused before she widen her eyes. "Wait... Lulu are you thinking-?" She had realized what Lulu is up too, and isn't sure if she should feel relieved, or scared.
"I am, I'll let him know... when will those two try and steal the cards?" Lulu asked Weasel.
"Tomorrow night."
"Thank you." Lulu smiled. "We'll take care of everything. I just need to make a quick call."
"Uh, Yuto, you know who she is talking about?" Yuma asked Yuto if he knows who Lulu means.
Yuto just swallowed nervously. "Yeah... she's going to call Shay."
"Oh... in the end, is it wrong to feel sorry for those two now?" Caswell gulped when he hears this.
"No, they deserve what's going to happen, but I intend on seeing it for myself." Shark answered.
"So your gonna head over there like they planned?" Yuma asked him.
"Yeah, I am." Shark smirked.
"Well Yuma... if you never met Shay, or seen how he duels... you should be afraid."
"Huh? Why Bronk, if he's Lulu's older brother, he should have the same playing style she uses right?" Yuma asked over confused why he should be afraid of Shay.
"The only thing Shay and I have in common is we both use Winged-Beasts." Lulu answered. "He's... a bit different than I am."
"Is he that intimidating?" Astral inquired hearing that. "I can't imagine your brother being very frightening."
"Trust us, Astral, as soon as you see Shay in action, you will know." Those words from Yuto made it certain for them. They listened from it, and decided that it be best if they see for themselves.
The next day...
"Alright, we are here. Where is Shark though?"
Scorch, and Chills are near the museum once they are sure security is laxed at this point. They are just waiting for Shark for their plan to work against him. Even though Chills is sure is that he had sent the message to Shark as bait, he hasn't turned up yet when he was suppose too. This is starting to irritate them, that Shark be late for this even though he messaged he be there.
"So what do you two want with me?" questioned a voice as they turned to see Shark walking over to them.
"Ah Shark." Scorch smirked over towards him. "You were late, what took you?"
"I was waiting on someone." Shark mentioned as they noticed someone glaring at them as he approached, it was Shay.
"So you two are the ones planning to steal the rare deck being displayed?" he questioned.
"Who are you?" Chills questioned seeing him.
"Wait a second, I recognize this guy, he works for Heartland... he's one of his security dogs... but I've never seen the guy duel." Scorch frowned recognizing Shay. He's one of Heartland's well-known security officers who deals with the most drastic of threats. To think Shark knows someone like him... "I think I saw him talking on the phone but I doubt he's a threat... we'll just wipe the floor with him and then get the cards."
"Hmph, so you sniffed our little plan do you Shark? Well you are correct, for what you've done that day. Once we're done with him, we will deal with you." Chills spoke towards Shark smirking over.
"Try saying that after he deals with you." Shark spoke before he then nodded to Shay. "Their all yours, sir."
Shay glared but nodded. "Here's how this is going to work, you two will share 8000 life points and I'll have 4000 you'll also be allowed to attack on the first turn but you won't be allowed to use each other's cards. I'll also be taking the first turn."
"What? You be willing to give us a big handicap like that?" Scorch smirked as Shay unlocked the gate for them to duel at the courtyard in front of the building.
"You must either be bold, or stupid. Either way it works well with us." Chills smirked also as they walked in all together to start the match.
Shay activated his Duel Disk as he glared at them. "I take it you agree to the terms then?"
"Fine." Scorch, and Chills activated their own Duel Disks while everyone else already inside watched over from nearby.

It looked like a cyborg bird with multiple jet engines on its body with its wings, and having spikes around its blue body with armor around it as well. It also has a single blue orb on its forehead acting as an eye with a red crest on its chest.

"Is that all you can do?" Shay challenged Scorch.
Scorch growled before calling. "In that case, I use Volcasaurus' special ability! By using an Overlay Unit, your new monster is destroyed!" The Number takes the Unit before it proceeded to blast Air Raid with lava destroying it. "Then as a special favor, the attack points of that monster goes to you as damage!"

Shay's eyes narrowed as his monster was destroyed in a fiery explosion.

The two flew up to the Overlay Network shattering before Chills finished, "I Xyz Summon! Number 19: Freezadon!"
A 19 glowed as a blue ice rock similar to Volcasaurus appeared before deforming into a blue version of Volcasaurus with a 19 on his chest roaring.

"Well, your wrong about that moron." Chills smirked over towards him. "Only your monster will be destroyed as a Number can only destroy another Number in battle! And least I forget, your bird isn't one!"
Shay only stared at him as though daring him to attack.
"Very well! Freezadon destroy it!"
Freezadon charges in towards Revolution Falcon who stared unafraid.
"Now Shay will lose his monster!"
"I don't think so Yuma." Astral however doesn't think so unlike Yuma feeling something is amiss.
"I activate my facedown card!" Shay called. "Rise Rank-Up-Magic Raidraptor's Force!"
The spell appeared as a blinding light stopped Freezadon in its tracks.
"Agh, what now!?" Scorch tried to cover his eyes from the light.

"Huh? But that all adds up to Rank 13, which doesn't exist!" Yuma argued from this from how ridiculous that sounds. The highest Level or Rank within Duel Monsters is Level 12, so a Rank 13 monster is impossible to have. Then again... Shay doesn't look to be joking.
The three monsters flew up with their Ranks displayed above them.

Raising from the Overlay Network was a large falcon monster cawing loud. It's one of the biggest monsters they have ever seen with large pink/purple wings while having blue armor cawing loud on the field.

Seeing the large monster they all gaped from this. They never thought that a Level 13 or Rank 13 monster is possible but there seeing that it's definitely possible as this monster is the proof.
"What the hell...?" Scroch stepped back seeing it.
"A rank 13 exists?" Chills just stared shocked having assumed Rank 13 is impossible.
"Dear me." Astral whispered in disbelief as he stared in awe at the monster that seemed to break every rule of Duel Monsters just by existing.
"When Rising Rebellion Falcon is Xyz Summoned, all of your cards are destroyed and if it happens to have three Raidraptor monsters with different names as Overlay Units, which it does, you take damage equal to your monster's total attack points!" Shay revealed. "Wipe them out!"
The monster cawed loud as it blasted over a large blast towards them. Chills tched from this taking a card from his hand. "I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Defensive Ice!"

A ice shield appeared around it while the blasts charged in at Volcasaurus, and Freezadon.
"That still destroys your partner's monster." Shay told him.
While the ice reflected off Freezadon, Volcasaurus roared as it was destroyed harshly from the blast. (Scorch & Chills: 5500/Hands: (Scorch: 4/Chills: 3))
"Anything else?" Shay questioned.
"Nothing else from me." Chills sets a card to end his turn.

"Now Shay's against the two Numbers again!" Yuma panicked seeing this.
"And neither can be destroyed by Shay's Rank 13." Astral also sees the two have a lot of defense from the Numbers unable to be destroyed in battle from Rising Rebellion Falcon not being a Number. It is stronger but if it can't destroy them, and deal minimal damage then this will get Shay nowhere.
"Like I expected." they turned to Shark who was glaring. "They are cheating."
"Cheating, us? What do you mean Shark? We didn't spy on his deck like you." Scorch smirked. "All we're doing..."
"Is losing!" Shay glared towards them. He then raised an arm as his monster powered up as it absorbed 3 Overlay Units. "I use Rising Rebellion Falcon's special ability, by using three Overlay Units I can copy the effect of a Raidraptor Xyz Monster in my graveyard."
Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon: (ORU: 4 - 3 - 2 - 1)
"And I choose the effect of my Revolution Falcon! By using one Overlay Unit it can attack all of your monsters, and when Revolution Falcon battles a Special Summoned monster that monster loses all its attack and defense points!" It takes it's last Unit as they both stare stunned that despite having powerful monsters it managed to overwhelm them.

"Now, attack both of their monsters!"
Rising Rebellion Falcon charged in as the Numbers weakened.

Number 19: Freezadon: (ATK: 2600 - 2000 = 0/DEF: 2500 - 2500 = 0)
The two watched stunned as it tackled the Numbers, and although it failed to destroy them it was enough to end the duel as they screamed out landing harshly down on the ground.

At this Astral reached forward as the Numbers exited the two which the Numbers on their bodies shattered as he takes the cards to examine his memories.
"No... way..." Yuma trailed off stunned seeing this. Shay had wiped the two out so easily, and they been playing into his hands.
Shay frowned before turning and walking off.
"Yeah... terrifying." Bronk shivered nervously.
"Well as I spoke before. They were cheating." Shark spoke to them with crossed arms. "They haven't turned on the auto-shuffle feature so they knew what cards their buddy has." When the two regained consciousness they see Shark glaring at them. It terrified them enough that they ran off without questioning what is going on.
"Well hopefully they learned their lesson. But what now?" Cathy asked them.
"Now we should go before Security finds us." Caswell suggested to them.
They all nodded at that as they left the area.
Ulrich362: Well... Shay's powerful... maybe too powerful.
bopdog111: Raidraptors have a lot of different options.
Ulrich362: True, that was just the tip of the iceberg in regards to what Shay is capable of... though for the curious there is going to be a reason he doesn't bring it out very often. That said, if memory serves next up is going to be... a very interesting duelist making their presence known?
bopdog111: Interesting... but at this point deadly. He isn't using the Deck he was using in Arc-V, he's at his original roots.
