The scene opens with Odysseus and his crew inside of a nondescript wooden area, with Odysseus sitting down and explaining a plan to his crew mates. "Alright my brothers, listen closely. Tonight we make the Trojans pay. Ten years of war, they killed us slowly." As he says this, his face turns from the calm expression he'd held into a grimace, his lips turning downwards as his teeth show slightly. He's clearly angered by this thought. Suddenly, a smirk appears on his face. "But now, we'll be the ones who slay!" His expression grows serious again as he begins pointing at his crew. "Think of your wives and your children. Your families wonder where you've been. They're growing old, and yet you're still here. Do what I say, and you'll see them again."
The crew responds sharply, with a resounding "YES, SIR!" as he begins to explain what they'll be doing, pointing directly at each crew member when he calls out their name. "Diomedes will lead the charge! Agamemnon will flank the guards! Menelaus will let our mates through the gates to take the whole city at large! Teucer will shoot any ambush attack, and Little Ajax will stay back! Nestor, secure Helen and protect her." As he says this, an image of Helen appears. "Neo, avenge your father. Kill the brothers of Hector." As Neo smirks imagining his revenge, a vision of Hector's brothers appear. The soldiers respond to Odysseus' orders with another resounding "YES SIR!" as Odysseus smiles, continuing to bring confidence to his men.
"Find that inner strength now! Use that well of pride! Fight through every pain now! Ask yourself inside! What do you live for? What do you try for? What do you wish for? Who do you fight for?" With the soldiers responding in kind. "What do you live for? What do you try for? What do you wish for? What do you fight for?" Odysseus closes his eyes, thinking back to what he left behind, the image of his wife and child coming to mind with ease. "Penelope... Penelope... and Telemachus! I fight for us! I fight for us!" As he opens his eyes, a look of focus appears on his face as he leaves the area they're in, the camera panning out to show they were inside the infamous Trojan Horse. "What do you live for?" His soldiers echo again. "Penelope..." He responds, his look of focus growing sharper. "What do you try for?" His soldiers state. "Telemachus..." He replies, a look of furious devotion appearing upon him as he takes another step forward, unsheathing his sword. "What do you wish for?" His soldiers ask, as he takes yet another step. "I'm on my way." He raises his sword high in the air, ready to command his men. "What do you fight for?" is the final question they ask as he brings down his sword, shouting as loud as he can. "Attack!" As his command rings out, the plan he had given his men is executed, and the city of Troy falls into chaos.
As Odysseus walks through the city, fighting his way up the walls of Troy, blood covering his sword and armor, a mysterious figure approaches him, suddenly stabbing him. He cries out in pain-"Argh!"- only to look down and see there's no stab wound. Panting, unsure of what just occurred, sweat coming down his face, he asks a question. "Who... was that?" As soon as he utters this question, the cry of an eagle is heard, and a being he though he'd never see appears before Odysseus in storm clouds that weren't there a second ago, thunder ringing out. It's the King of the Gods, Zeus himself. He replies to Odysseus' question. "A vision... Of what is to come. Cannot be outrun. Can only be dealt with right here and now." Odysseus looks at the King of the Gods, the determination on his face not wavering. "...Tell me how." Zeus smirks confidently, knowing Odysseus may have trouble handling what he'll need to do. "I don't think you're ready... A mission... To kill someone's son. A foe who won't run. Unlike anyone you have faced before." Odysseus remains confident and determined as he replies. "Say no more... I know that I'm ready." Zeus's smirk grows as he repeats what he said before. "I don't think you're ready."
Suddenly, a light shines down on Odysseus, and a sleeping infant floats into his hands. Odysseus looks confused, unsure what's going on. "It's just an infant... It's just a boy... What sort of imminent threat does he oppose that I cannot avoid?" Zeus begins to explain, his smirk leaving his face as he grows serious. "This is the son of none other than Troy's very own Prince Hector. Know that he will grow from a boy to an avenger. One fueled with rage as you're consumed by age. If you don't end him now, you'll have no one left to save. You can say goodbye to..." As he stops, voices appear from nowhere, sounding like Odysseus' crew. "Penelope..." They say, leaving Odysseus confused on what they mean. Zeus then says "You can say goodbye to," stopping again, letting the voices speak for him "Penelope..." Making it clear to Odysseus that if he doesn't kill this infant, then Penelope will be killed and Ithaca destroyed. Odysseus, horrified by this prospect, tries to argue. "I could raise him as my own!" He says, before Zeus and him begin to speak at the same time.
"He will burn your house and throne." Zeus states, as Odysseus argues, "I could raise him as my own!" once more. As Odysseus replies with "Or send him far away from home," Zeus shakes his head, stating "He will find you wherever you go." As Odysseus tries to argue by saying "Make sure his past is never known," Zeus sighs and says "The gods will make it known." Odysseus starts to resort to anything he can think of. "I'd rather bleed for you!" He states, as Zeus say "We're bringing you down on your knees for you." Odysseus gets on his knees and pleads with Zeus, saying "I'm on my knees for you! I'm begging please!" Unfortunately, Zeus just smiles and says "This is the will of the gods!" Odysseus begs, tears streaming down his face. He can't help but think of his own son, Telemachus, as he holds the infant son of Prince Hector. "Please! Don't make me do this! Don't make me do this!" He cries out, as Zeus stops smiling, his face returning to its serious expression. "The blood on your hands is something you won't lose. All you can choose is whose..." He whispers, disappearing. As he disappears, it pans back to Odysseus, still crying as he gets up.
