The scene opens with an exhausted Odysseus wiping off all the blood on him and closing his eyes as all 12 ships begin to move in the direction of Ithaca. He falls asleep quickly, only to begin falling. He looks around when he hits the ground, feeling no pain as he stands, and realizes he's once again in Athena's temple. She's glaring at him, clearly upset he hadn't killed the cyclops. She walks over, holding her lance so tight her knuckles have gone white. "You are reckless. Sentimental at best. That's not a teaching of mine. You've grown soft. Your dead friends can attest." Odysseus, feeling angry as she says this, glares back at her, baring his teeth in his rage. "Hey." He says, his anger starting to grow. Athena shakes her head at him, disappointed. "Put your emotions aside. You're a warrior meant to lead the rest!" She turns around, starting to pace back and forth. "I don't know where I went wrong, but I warned you and you failed the test!" She says, stopping and looking back at Odysseus. "So now I'm gone." She says, a determined look in her eyes. She turns away again, her back to Odysseus. "This way, you'll know what your place is. This way, you can't cross the line. This way, when all is over, you'll keep yours and I'll keep mine." While she doesn't turn to face Odysseus, the scene does pan to show her face, and it's mixed with pain, disappointment, and sadness. "This way, you won't disappoint me." She says, gritting her teeth as she continues. "This way, you won't waste my time. This way, I'll close the door. Consider this as my goodbye." She says, regret tinging her voice slightly.

Odysseus throws his arms up in the air, shaking his head in disbelief. "That's just like you. Why should I be surprised?" He says, rolling his eyes, his anger clouding his judgement, making him act without thinking as he speaks. "Selfish and prideful and vain. Unlike you, every time someone dies, I'm left to deal with the strain." He says, pointing at Athena in an accusatory manner. "What's a title that a goddess could lend if I'll never sleep at night? I'll remind you I saw you as a friend... but now we're done." He says, slashing a hand through the air as he speaks, signifying he's done with this friendship. "This way, you're out of my head now. This way, you won't plague my life. This way, when all is done, you're out of sight and out of mind." He angrily says, beginning to walk back and forth similar to how Athena did earlier. "This way, you get what you wanted. This way, you can save your time. This way, you can close the door and have your damn goodbye!"

As Athena hears Odysseus say this, she turns around, anger showing on her face as well as sadness. "You're not looking for a mentor, I'm not looking for a friend! I mistook you for a general! What a waste of effort spent!" She angrily cries out, slamming her lance into the ground, as if to fortify her words. Odysseus glares right back at her as he angrily speaks, not caring if his words hurt her anymore. "At least I know what I'm fighting for while you're fighting to be known! Since you claim you're so much wiser, why's your life spent all alone? You're alone!" He yells, slamming his own sword into the ground next to her lance, almost daring her to try to say he's wrong. Athena doesn't notice it herself, but there are now a few tears coming down her face from how much Odysseus' words had hurt her. He was, after all, a good friend to her, so of course his words hurt. "One day, you'll hear what I'm saying. One day, you might understand. One day... but not today... for after all, you're JUST A MAN!" She cries out, with echoing voices joining her. Her anger comes back, though the tears coming down her face don't stop yet. "This day, you sever your own head. This day, you cut the line! This day, you lost it all! Consider this as my goodbye! Consider this as my goodbye! This is my goodbye! Consider this as my goodbye! This is my goodbye!" She yells out, grabbing her lance from the ground and quickly transforming into flickers of light, leaving her own temple as Odysseus wakes up.
