Post-Reichenbach. John hasn't been able to move on with his life after Sherlock died 3 years ago. On the third anniversary of his best friends death, John looks for a way to forget, but is instead greeted with something quite unexpected.

He watches over the faithful.

"John wasn't there. If he had seen Sherlock, if he had seen that raw need to forget, he could have stopped him." A case goes wrong and John is out of town, Sherlock turns to alternative means of forgetting. John puts him back together. Johnlock slashness.
