Sesshomaru and Harrue waited all night, and it grew cold. It was going to be a dark winter; it had grown colder a lot sooner.

They now stood feet away from the group.

Inuyasha did not want to go.

"Will it make you feel better?" He asked Kagome.

"Yes,"

"What will you do?" Kikyo asked,

"Go home," She had no reason and no want to go West. It was hard enough with them standing right there.

Sesshomaru eyed her; she could feel it, and her eyes moved to him.

Inuyasha moved to stand in front of his brother. "Im doing this for her, not you,"

Sesshomaru moved his eyes to Inuyasha; he didn't care why he came, just that he did.

"Miko," He spoke "My mother is waiting to speak to you,"

"Can she not do so after winter, she may not be able to return to her time if the weather changes suddenly," Kikyo spoke,

"Could I see the well?" Harrue asked, it was innocent enough.

"Sure," Kagome told her,

Sesshomaru eyed the demoness, she looked up at him and Kagome walked away.

Inuyasha shook his head and then they all followed.

"Well, this is it," Kagome told her,

Harrue blinked,

"No big deal," Kagome said "I mean besides this magic,"

"Do you control it?" Harrue asked,

Kagome shrugged "I dont really know, all I know is I jump and it takes me to and from,"

"Impressive," The demoness spoke,

Kagome half smiled "Well, I guess I'll see yall after winter,"

It would be months.

Sesshomaru saw the hesitation, she didnt want to leave.

"The offer still stands Miko, my mother would be pleased to have your company," And he really wanted to study her more.

She looked at him and the wind blew and she rubbed her arms and something inside him wanted to go closer to her, his beast was pacing again.

"I hope won't she won't be too cross with me,"

"That remains to be seen," He told her,

She didn't smile but her eyes lingered on him a little longer than normal and he didnt miss it. How did he miss it before?

Kagome turned and jumped, her skirt flew in the wind and down she went. Harrue rushed forward but Inuyasha knew something was wrong, there was no light, no magic.

Kagome hit bottom and her heart raced "What," She whispered.

Sesshomaru started to walk forward but his brother's name whispered on her lips stopped him dead in his tracks.

Inuyasha smirked. Sesshomaru watched as he jumped down the well.

Kagome sat on the ground "Kagome?"

"I dont understand," She whispered,

He crouched down,

"There is nothing," She said, she couldn't feel anything magic.

Their eyes met "How can this be? Why now?"

He knew why, but at the same time, he didnt.

"Are you ok?"

Above Sesshomaru, who was focusing more on her than he ever had, smelt tears. Had she been harmed?

A tear fell from her face and she quickly wiped it away. There was only one thing she could do now. Go to the West, to his home, with him and his new mate.

Knowing was hard, and seeing was harder still. She was going to slip up at some point she knew it and it would make things so awkward. It was her fault they were mated in the first place.

"Inuyasha?" Miroku called down,

"Yeah, she's fine, stand back coming up,"

"You're going to be ok, we got you ok?" Inuyasha told her,

It was sweet, but she did not feel confident at all but all she could do was nod her head.

He picked her up and bolted out of the well and sat her on her feet.

"Is something wrong?" Harrue asked,

Kagome looked down, and Inuyasha looked back "Damn thing ain't working,"

"The magic is gone," Kagome looked at her hands, she could still feel her power and the jewel.

"Then you are meant to be here," Kikyo stated,

At one time that statement would have brought her joy, now it made her cold and lonely.

"Come on let's go," Inuyasha and the group began the walk West. Kagome with her head hung low and the night air chilling her skin.

Harrue looked up "Did I do something wrong?"

He would have preferred she not asked to see the well when he was trying to get the Miko to come West. Curiosity got the best of him.

But in the end, it didnt matter, the well didn't work, and that in itself was strange.

He looked at it. It took her away on his wedding day, so why does it lock her here now?

"Come," He told Harrue and they followed after the group.
