Author's Note:
Wanted to get something out of the way before we continue. This fic was posted first on AO3 for a good while before I started releasing the chapters here on FFN too, so there's two more chapters I'll have to release here to match the pace of the one on AO3. Now for why I'm talking about this, I started taking omake ideas from my commenters on AO3 so I could write them into little short stories or one shots that are either canon or non-canon to the main fic. That being said, since I'm also now releasing the chapters on FFN too, any of y'all who want to give ideas for me to write into omakes like the one you'll see later can just write them in the comment sections.
Alright, as always, enjoy the chapter and have a nice day.
"Vaggie! Vaggie! Look, look! There's a big line for that ice cream truck over there!" Charlie practically hopped on hoove to another as she held the sleeve of her girlfriend in one hand while pointing at the truck with the other.
The ice cream truck in question was thrice the size of a usual truck, but considering the large sized frost-based demon serving the clients in front of him, it made sense.
"You wanna grab some ice cream, hun?" Vaggie softly smiled as the princess nodded with joy as she rushed towards the back of the line, holding Vaggie's sleeve as she dragged the one eyed angel behind her gently.
The Hazbin group each went their own way in the town of Nazarick as they all clamored to what interested them in this new place.
Angel and Cherri were the first to split, saying that they have some pals in the nearby club that they wanted to meet up with again, and left the rest of the group on their own.
Alastor found a 1930's bar that seemed to have been opened by a fellow sinner like him from the same period, and with the familiar radio tunes being played from behind the doors, the radio demon simply gave a twirl of his cane and a bow before he entered the establishment with a pleased smile on his face, with Niffty tagging along behind the demon.
Husk for his part, found a casino that seemed to care for its appearance unlike the many others in Hell with the numerous sinner security guards guarding it and the line in front of the establishment. And seeing that it was only him with the Morningstars left, he quickly made his way towards the line with a smile on his face.
Lucifer also found something that interested him, with a shop seemingly providing all sorts of bathroom supplies, and behind the display glasses were a large assortment of rubber ducks of all shapes and sizes.
Suffice to say, Lucifer could only give his daughter a few quick words of where he intended to go before dashing away towards the store, not even giving the hellborn a chance to reply.
And so here they are, standing in a line waiting for their turn to buy some ice cream while the rest of their group went to other places that caught their interest.
"Next!"
As soon as their turn came, Charlie hopped towards the ice cream truck as she began reading the menu off of the side of the vehicle with Vaggie at her side.
"Uh… I'll have the chocolate ice cream cup with rainbow sprinkles on top, please!"
The demon that seemed to be made from ice cubes nodded before looking at the one eyed angel. "And you, miss?"
Vaggie blinked quizzically as she gave the same menu a look over, and seeing nothing particularly of great interest, shook her head and responded. "I'll have what she's having."
And with a final nod, the ice cube demon got to work as he began to swiftly brought out two cups of generous size and placed multiple chocolate scoops in each cup, before using a shaker and sprinkling the top of the chocolate ice cream scoops with rainbow sprinkles.
"Here ya go ladies, two chocolate ice cream cups with sprinkles on top, that will be 5 dollars each."
Charlie blinked owlishly before fishing slowly ten dollars from her pocket, giving it to the demon as he gave them the cups, Vaggie and Charlie looked at each other questioningly for a moment before looking back down at the cups.
"Uhh… You girls alright? I didn't poison them if that's what you're wondering." The ice demon stared at the with worry filling the red gem like eyes engraved in his ice cube head.
"Oh, it's nothing like that! It's just… are you sure this is just five dollars each? It seems a bit too… cheap."
The ice cream truck owner gave a small 'Oooh' as he heard the hellborn's words before snorting and chuckling, frost spewing from his mouth with each laugh.
"So that's what you meant! Ya don't have to worry princess, that's just because supplies are easier to get around here than outside the town. And you can thank the new bosses for that. Say what you want about how violent the takeover was against the sad fucks that resisted, but it was the best decision for us poorer shits."
Charlie raised an eyebrow in confusion as she asked the demon. "How so?"
"I don't know it myself, but the bosses have tons of shit with them, or at least the skele-boss man, he can bring it out of nowhere whenever he wants. Construction supplies? Done. Food? Not even worth asking. Money? Stupid question. Fuck, even this truck of mine is something he brought of nowhere, true, I had to do some modifications here and there, but it's basically still the same as the day the boss man gave it to me."
"...He gave it to you? Just like that? An Overlord?" Vaggie asked incredulously as she doubted the sanity and naivety of the demon before her. There's no Overlord in Hell, no matter how nice they might seem, who would ever do someone a favor like that just for no reason.
"Yeppers." The ice demon said with a casual tone, surprising Vaggie with it. "Believe me, I know how overlords work, I was under the… 'generous employ' of one before all this now. Fucker used me as some sort of mobile refrigerator for his stupid drinks. Thank God that the bastard was one of the few fucks that tried to attack the new bosses, I think his entrails are still hanging on the border wall form the outside. You can catch a whiff of them if you like when you go back out, though I wouldn't blame you if you don't… Still, this place is amazing, ain't it?"
Charlie nodded in response with a smile on face, and even Vaggie had to agree, this place was like a sight for sore eyes, even though she preferred Hell over Heaven because Charlie is here, she couldn't help but miss the actual order and peaceful atmosphere of Heaven, and this place has been the closest thing to it in all her years in Hell.
Still…
"Even if these new overlords aren't the same as the one you were under, why did this new 'boss' just give you something free of charge? Are you under a contract? Do you have some sort of other job you do for him?"
The ice demon chuckled under his breath before answering. "I did ask him why he gave me a truck that was almost custom designed for what I wanted and guess what he answered?"
"What?" Vaggie asked with a raised eyebrow, even Charlie was lending an ear to the conversation as she happily took tiny spoonfuls of her ice cream.
"He said that he just didn't want me to get an ice cream truck for myself and make it all colored red like the rest of Hell! Hahahahahahaha!!"
As the demon laughed, Vaggie felt her jaw fall to the floor in surprise at the answer. That's it? That's the whole reason for an overlord, a member of the most powerful and wicked sinners among the whole group, to help someone?
Just so that a random demon wouldn't contribute to Hell's preference to red?
As the ice cream seller laughed, Vaggie was almost tempted to join in as even Charlie giggled at the overlord's supposed reason. But the shock of it all left her silent.
The pair waved the ice demon goodbye as they left, the frosty delicacy in hand, and went about their day, enjoying the relatively peaceful environment of the town while the group was still split.
"You know, Vaggie, in all my years here in hell, I've never seen a place in the Pride Ring looking so… peaceful. The closest you can get is the nearby Imp City and the parties set up by the Ars Goetia nobles. But even they aren't this… nice. Especially since there's lots of crime in Imp City, even if the whole murder thingy is rarer than in Pentagram. And the nobles are… being themselves." Charlie shivered slightly as she felt a sweatdrop run down her forehead, remembering some of the 'regal parties' made by the hellish nobility of Pride.
A single time visiting one of King Paimon's fabled anniversaries for his numerous children is enough to make a demon wish to have been a human, just so they could at least have a chance to go to Heaven and be a dimension far away from those chaotic events.
Vaggie patted the hellborn's back comfortingly as she sighed softly, though she would never admit it out loud, she's glad she only met Charlie after the princess retreated from noble society, especially considering their less than favorable views on a "commoner" dating the very Princess of Hell, worse now that it has been found out that she was also an angel, a fallen one at that, that wasn't even at the very least a cherubim (not the tiny cherubes mind you) or a former seraphim like Charlie's father.
They continued to walk in a comfortable silence with only the common noises of the cars and trucks going by and the other sinners and hellborns going their own way keeping them company, it was in a sense, comfortable.
Suddenly, the two began hearing a large cacophony of voices from in front of them, with a crowd gathering in front of one of the stores. And from the looks of it, an argument or a fight of sorts started.
Usually, one wouldn't care much for any spat aside from wanting to record it and keep it for later if it was funny enough, and that's because this is Hell, where murder, turf wars, and bloodshed is common.
But in such a peaceful part of Pentagram City? The two were quite curious as to what would lead anyone to fight here and risk being at the end of the blade of one of the monsters guarding the town.
As they walked towards the source of the noise, the voices became more distinct and they could make out what was being said over the murmurs of the crowd.
"You fucking cunt! How dare a piece of shit like you steal stuff from me?!"
"Steal?! You tacky bastard! You were asking for prices well fucking beyond what they should've been worth and thought I'll fucking listen to your stingy ass!"
"Oh you little-!"
The 'shopkeeper' and the 'customer' continued arguing and screaming in the middle of the street, with the crowd growing larger and larger as people were curious by the gathering of hellborns and sinners around the store.
The princess saw some of the hellborn children clutching their parents' clothes tightly as the loud screaming seemed to have upset them, with many on the verge of tears as spittle was thrown around by the pair of arguing sinners who began shoving and hitting each other.
Charlie felt a spike of anger and fury erupt from within her as the two demons were getting dangerously close to hitting the crowd around them, and as her demonic form began to flare to life, Charlie began making her way to the front of the crowd to stop the squabbling two.
"Alright! Calm down you tw-!"
"That is quite enough."
A sudden chill began to overtake the crowd and the pair from the Hotel as a new deep voice spoke up softly yet with an authoritative tone. And slowly, a singular being began making his way from the skies towards them, floating down using magic.
The entity was clothed in a suit of fine purple silk topped with golden buttons with matchiñg trousers. He had the suit unbuttoned, revealing the finely threaded purple vest underneath, a black dress shirt and a red necktie.
The stranger had bleached white hair that reached to his shoulder, and was a bit longer than shoulder length as some of the hair strands at the back of his head were tied into a single neat braid, with the rest flowing down freely both in front and at the back of his shoulders. And where a face should've been, was an unmoving red mask stuck into a permanent wicked grin that sent shivers crawling up the spines of the onlookers, and large sapphires in place of eyes.
As the entity finally reached the ground, a crisp clack was heard as the stranger's shoes touched the pavement. He surveyed the crowd around them for a moment, locking eyes with the two troublemakers.
Though Charlie couldn't help but think that this mysterious stranger might have stared at her and Vaggie for a moment before that.
"Now then, what seems to be the cause of this ruckus? You two are drumming up quite the large crowd and disturbing the peace with your squabble."
The two sinners gulped in fear as they eyed each other, hoping for the other to speak up first to the intimidating masked man.
With none speaking up, the being gave a small sigh of faint annoyance as he gazed at the two sinners from behind his mask with violent intent. "I'll chuck this up to a mere argument gone too far, however should either of you dare to make such a disturbance again, I will ensure that you are both excommunicated from the town and blacklisted from there on out, are we clear, gentlemen?"
The two nodded so quickly, you'd think their skulls will pop out of their joints. And so within the second, the shopkeeper immediately rushed back towards his store while the the other demon walked away a tad bit too quickly.
The masked being sighed for a bit before looking at the gathering of hellborns and sinners and raising his hand in a placating gesture.
"I apologize for the commotion everyone, you may return to your everyday lives now."
The people took the hint as they dispersed back, walking away from the original scene of the argument, sans for the masked entity and the two women from the Hazbin Hotel.
The masked being prepared to fly away from the scene before a voice called out to him as he began hovering slightly from the ground.
"Wait, sir, please!" Charlie called out to him as she walked towards the man, who she now realizes was quite massive, around ten feet tall if she had to guess, and as he turned around to look down at her, she ignored Vaggie's soft whispers of warning as she approached.
"Charlie, wait!"
"Um, sir, I have a question, do you work for the overlords here?"
The man was silent for a few seconds as he stared at her through his frigid mask, before answering in a level headed tone.
"I do, is there a problem, Miss…?"
"Charlie! Charlie Morningstar, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir…?"
The man was silent once again, thought not for as long as last time, before answering the young heiress of the throne.
"Momon, my name is Momon. It's a pleasure to meet you, your Highness." The man gave a small crisp bow, one that almost made her believe that he was hellion noble than as a sinner, or at least, she assumed he was a sinner, as she doesn't recall seeing any hellborn race with his appearance before.
"You can just call me Charlie, you don't need to bother with any titles with me."
Momon nodded as he spoke up again. "I see. Will then Miss Charlie, to what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Well, me and my friends came here to this town, super nice place by the way, to visit the overlords here, I was wondering if you know anything about it as of now, if you don't mind that i, no biggie."
Momon tapped the lower part of his mask in thought, seemingly looking thoughtfully in the distance for a while before answering her.
"Ah yes, I do recall something about that. I believe some of my fellow colleagues are already looking throughout the town for your friends and bringing them to meet with the two lords. There should be someone also on the way to guide you two as well."
Charlie felt a smile overtake her features as she looked at Momon with glee.
"Really? Thank you Mr. Momon!"
Momon looked at her for a few seconds silently before a deep chuckle erupted from him, his hand waving slightly in response.
"I'm happy to help, Miss, now if you'll excuse me, I still have a few more rounds to make."
And with that, the masked demon took the skies and flew to the center of the town in the blink of an eye.
"Ooohhh, aren't you excited Vaggie?! We're finally going to meet them!" Charlie practically hopped towards her girlfriend who was in a seemingly catatonic state.
"Vaggie? Are you okay?" The hellborn shook the fallen angel's shoulders slightly as she brought her out of her stupor, the one-eyed woman blinking in surprise as she looked at Charlie.
"I'm fine, Charlie, I'm fine." She waved her arm dismissively as she continued to stare at where Momon was in the skies with scrutinized eyes.
The princess felt something was wrong as she looked at Vaggie and tightened her grasp on the woman's shoulder.
"What's wrong, Vaggie? You know you can tell me."
Vaggie looked at Charlie with appreciative eyes as she placed her hand on top of Charlie's.
"It's nothing big, Hun, it's just… That man, Momon, he isn't all that he seems. He's… dangerous, very dangerous."
Charlie gave a small sigh as she looked at Vaggie with a smile. The former exorcist tended to always have her guard up against others and see everyone as a potential enemy first and foremost.
Though in this case, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of agreement with her, even though it made feel guilty thinking badly of someone before she could even get to know them well. Momon didn't strike her as a wicked person, or at least not as wicked as the likes of Valentino or some of the more depraved sinners in Pride, but he gave her the same feeling she had when going up against her parents when they taught her self defense and how to use her pitchfork or when she fought Adam.
He was, to be blunt, a monster.
Charlie shook her head as she looked at the skies, perhaps she was wrong, perhaps it's just her full instincts in combat giving her false measurements, for a mere sinners or hellborn could never get on the same level as Lucifer or Lilith. Though she will take Vaggie's warning into account in case he does turn out to be a dangerous individual.
But until then, they are both supposed to wait for the escort to take them to the overlords ruling this town.
"Come on, Vaggie, let's just go find a place to wait for whoever it is that will pick us up. We can talk about this later."
Vaggie looked at Charlie for a bit before giving her a nod and a smile, letting the hellborn princess lead her to a nearby outdoor bench.
Though, for all their preconceived notions on Momon's strength, it hasn't crossed the minds of the two women yet if Momon's superiors would be much greater threats than Momon ever was.
The masked demon Momon flew in through open window gently as his shoes Madea crisp sound as he floated down to the floor, the lavish lounge where he entered had one other occupant as the masked being closed the window behind him.
"Welcome back, Skelly! Have you met with Lucifuck's bitch daughter yet?"
Momon sighed as his body began to be overtaken by a pillar of light, and in place of the masked demon with a suit, was the undead Overlord who donned his usual academic purple robes.
"I did, and your former subordinate as well." Ainz sighed as he looked through the window at the town down below. "And I must say, I am not impressed by either of them, for the very daughter of the Devil and a former member of your greatest group of soldiers. They are both…"
"Pathetic? Wimpy? Whorish?" Adam gave lazy suggestions as he was eating from a bowl of chocolate ice cream while watching a show on the nearby TV.
Ainz gave a deep chuckle as he sat beside the First Man, cradling his chin with his fingers as he looked up slightly, the red flames that served as his eyes going out as he hummed.
"While I wouldn't agree with your third comment, but they truly do not strike me as anything worthy of noting, their combined overall power from what I have detected with my spell is utterly insignificant, and this not speaking of their abysmal individual power. I must say, had I not known who exactly they were, I would've been worried about them surviving in Hell as they are right now."
Adam swallowed the chunk of ice cream in his mouth as he wiped his lips with a napkin before jokingly punching the undead on the shoulder with his furried hand and a grin on his face.
"Look at you, mister gentleman! All respectful and shit, even with the slander! Gonna open the doors and let them enter first too?"
Ainz sighed as he stood up and turned off the TV, earning a disapproving groan from Adam in the process, as he walked towards the doors.
"In any case, Adam, they're going to arrive within the next hour, it's for the best if you prepare yourself when meeting them. None of them know you rematerialized as a sinner yet. So what say you, we give them one hell of a surprise, hmm?"
Even though Ainz's skull couldn't morph into any readable expressions, Adam felt that if he could, the undead would have a mischievous grin right about now.
One that the reborn sinner sported visibly on his person.
The former Head Exorcist stood up, the bowl of ice cream and the spoon vanishing into particles of light as he walked towards the undead skeleton.
"I like your thinking Skelly, but I got some ideas for a dramatic reunion I wanna run by you."
The undead tilted his head slightly as he opened the doors.
"Oh? Do tell."
"How about when they enter, we-"
The doors closed behind the pair, the only sounds still permeating the place are the sounds of gunshots and explosions from beyond the territory walls and the howling wind against the glass windows.
Omake: New Head Exorcist
(Idea by Aptom117, thanks a lot!)
Charlie opened the doors of the meeting room as she winced and blinked her eyes frantically, the lights from the meeting room blinding her with their brightness.
"Welcome, am I to presume you are the one who the fallen seraphim sent?"
A deep baritone voice echoed through the room, reaching Charlie from the other side. And as she finally adapted to the bright light and looked at the source of the voice, she gasped in shock.
There were two figures on the other side of the rectangular steel table. The first of whom she recognized instantly was an exorcist, her uniform still bloody from the recent extermination and a neutral expression on her face.
And as she gazed as the other with trepidation and hesitation, she couldn't help but think of one word that perfectly encapsulates what this seated being was.
Death.
Dressed in purple robes that revealed the skeletal ribcage underneath, with a menacingly red orb that screamed danger floating below his ribs. The being's skeletal finger were adorned in rings of various shapes and sizes, yet they all screamed wealth and authority.
Finally, between the two large pauldrons sitting on the entities shoulders, and under the purple hood, was a skull of inhuman proportions that seemed to be carved form marble, with red flames within the eyesockets that served as eyes. And a black intricate halo that seemed to be made both from light and fog behind his head.
Overall, if Charlie met this angel anywhere else, she'd think that the grim reaper has come for her and she's about to find out if there's a hell or heaven for hellborns like herself.
"Are you alright, child? Can you hear me?" The skeletal angel's deep rich voice reached her ears again, she coughed slightly to hide her embarrassment and shock before giving the seated entity a positive smile as she sat opposite from him on the other side of the table.
"I'm fine! Thanks for asking! So uh, I'm here to represent my dad, Lucifer, and I did want to speak with someone from Heaven too, so it all works out!"
Adam hummed in thought before speaking. "Shouldn't introductions come first, or should I supposed to refer to you as 'child' from now?"
Charlie gasped in shock before standing up and walking towards the pair, coughing once more as she gave her best professional smile, which wasn't much but it was at least an attempt.
"Uh, right, sorry about that! My name is Charlie Morningstar, but you can just call me Charlie. I'm the daughter of Lucifer and Lilith and the princess of Hell, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir!"
Charlie extended her had for a handshake, yet before she could fully do so, she felt the tip of a pointed object on her throat, and as she widened her eyes and gazed at the source of it, she saw the same exorcist who stood silently behind the skeletal angel giving her a threatening look with the tip of her angelic steel sword on the hellborn's throat.
Charlie gulped in fear yet didn't move from her place or speak in fear of making things worse, and thankfully, the seated angel raised his hand as he spoke up.
"Stand down Lute."
The exorcist, that now Charlie knows as Lute, swiftly left her sword dissolve into particles of light as she went back into he blink of an eye standing at attention behind the other angel with her hands behind her back.
"I apologize, Lute is quite overprotective." The angel gave a deep chuckle as he extended his hand while speaking. "I am Suzuki Satoru, you may call me Satoru. I am the new Head Exorcist, it's a pleasure to meet you, Charlie."
Satoru shook Charlie's hand, which the hellborn could notice was much much bigger than hers yet warm despite being skeletal in nature.
As the two retracted their hands, Charlie went back to her seat as Satoru leaned back on his, his skull supported on the knuckles of one of his hands.
"Now then, there were things that I wanted to also speak with your father about, had he come to this meeting like he was supposed to, but as he decided to pull the same move again…"
'Did he say 'same move'? Did dad do this before?'
"I'll ask that you inform him of what I tell you here, but until then, the floor is yours, speak, what is it that you wanted to tell us?"
Charlie cleared her throat as she materialized a pile of papers, that from the top page, Satoru could see was apparently a pile of crayon drawings, and had he still had the necessary muscles to do so, would raise an eyebrow questioningly.
"Now, I'm here to talk about the biggest problem that plagues both Heaven and Hell!"
"...Your parents and the rest of the sins? Their actions have been the greatest thorns in our side for the longest time, if you have plans of a coup d'etat, then I'm all ears."
Charlie didn't know if Satoru was joking or not, his unmoving skull and his seemingly eternal professional neutral tone didn't help her discern his intentions or his emotions.
"Er, no… I was actually talking about the overpopulation of Hell. It's the reason why the Exterminations started in the first place, and I have a better solution for this."
Neither Satoru nor Lute spoke up, yet the skeletal angel's head tilt was an indication for her to continue, which she did.
"Instead of killing the sinners, I thought of a more humane way to help fix the overpopulation issue, and that is by redemption! If they can redeem themselves and go to Heaven, then the exterminations won't be needed anymore and you guys won't have to come down and waste your time anymore, and everyone can live happily!"
The hellborn placed down all the crayon drawings she was showing the undead angel as he continued staying still as a statue throughout her entire presentation. As soon as she finished, Satoru leaned on the table as he supported his skeletal head on the top of his hands.
"Miss Charlie, while I am moved by your desire to… help, the sinners of hell. I do have my own criticisms of this endeavor of yours."
Charlie felt a sweatdrop go down her forehead as she looked at Satoru and waited for him to continue.
"For one, I would like to ask, how sure are you of this working to begin with?"
Charlie bit her lip for a moment before answering, her expression filled with both doubt yet also confidence.
"I'm not exactly sure if it's really possible since there's never been a case of a redeemed sinner. But it's never too late to try, right?"
Satoru stared at the hellborn for a few moments, and though she was a bit uncomfortable, she didn't say anything in the moment.
"And how many sinners are exactly in your establishment ready to attempt to redeem themselves?"
"...one…"
Satoru's red lights vanished for a moment before reappearing once again, akin to the motion of blinking as his jaw dropped slightly.
"Pardon? Only one? You do realize that's not even nearly enough to even put the forgo the exterminations even once, right?"
Charlie wanted to retort and speak up, but Satoru beat her to the punch as he continued.
"There are over a hundred and fifty thousand deaths per day, and this number could change due to population growth, age demographics, and global or localized events. And if we are to use the most optimistic of measurements, and say that fifty thousand new souls end up in hell everyday. You'd need to redeem that many souls daily to even put a halt to the increasing number of sinners, and even more to decrease the number of those who are already there."
Satoru sighed as he placed his skull in his open palms while sighing. "Worse yet perhaps, is that you came here, forgive me for saying this, but with nothing but childish drawings and flowery naive words and hoped that Heaven would blindly agree? Did you want us to simply waste time and resources assisting you on a project that the main people it should affect, don't care for whatsoever?"
No response was uttered from the hellborn princess, who looked like a child that was scolded severely by their parents or a puppy left out in the rain. She wanted to desperately defend her case and get them to see from her point of view, but Satoru's gaze reminded her eerily of her mother, who would give her the same disappointing stare whenever Charlie would screw up or be unable to meet her mother's expectations as the princess of hell.
A few moments went by without either side uttering a word, with Satoru staring at Charlie for a while before he sighed and leaned back in his seat.
"One chance."
"Huh?"
"I shall give you one chance to prove that your project is worth considering. While your hotel as it stands has no chance whatsoever of ever replacing the Exterminations, I will give you a chance to at least prove that your hotel is worth being endorsed by Heaven. Is that clear?"
Charlie rubbed her eyes that had accumulated a few tears as a sparkle returned to them, her mouth morphing into a wide smile as she looked at the apathetic undead angel.
"Really?! Oh thank you, thank yo-!"
"Make no mistake, I care not for what happens to the sinners, whether they end up atoning for their crimes or being put down by an exorcist's blade, it matters not to me. I'm simply giving you the chance since we do not really lose anything by allowing you to continue with this project of yours. However, know very well that you should ever use this as a chance to gather an army or cause an uprising or a rebellion… I will end you personally, do you understand, Young Morningstar?"
Charlie gulped in fear at his last words, yet the smile she had on her face never left, and nodded happily.
"Thank you Sir Satoru, I promise you that I will show all of Heaven and Hell that redemption is possible!"
Charlie gave a small bow reminiscent of ones exchanged between nobles before leaving happily, leaving Satoru and Lute alone within the room.
"Well, this was productive, wouldn't you agree, Lute?"
The exorcist scoffed for a moment as she stared at the doors which the princess used to exit.
"I still do not understand why you even offered this filthy hellspawn a chance, sir, she's not worth any such boon."
Satoru chuckled for a moment before answering her. "She would've gone and continued with this hotel of hers either way, even without our approval, this was simply a method to mitigate the damage and control her actions without giving either her or her incompetent father a chance to cause havoc."
Lute slowly nodded to Satoru's words, not fully assured but she relented as she trusted the undead.
"Now then." Satoru stood up as he waved his hand and a dark portal opened behind him. "You go back for now, since the young princess didn't give me a chance to speak with her of the matters I intended to let her relay to her father. I will go personally to that pathetic fool and do so myself. You go in ahead and go spend the rest of the day with Adam, I know that that's preferable to you than to be forced to talk with a second morningstar on the same day."
Lute nodded gratefully, a blush overtaking her features as she thought of the First Man, before saluting and stepping through the dark portal, the [Gate] spell closing in behind her.
Satoru sighed for a moment as he looked around the room, reminiscing on how he got here to begin with.
After he passed away following the end of Yggdrasil, he suddenly ended up within the divine realm of Heaven in his undead avatar. He wanted to panic and shout as he didn't understand what has happened. But it seems that all his abilities and skills from Yggdrasil were also present as his {Emotional Suppressor} made it painfully clear.
And when he ended up meeting the High Seraphim and the First Man, he panicked and thought they were going to attack him, and prepared all the defensive spells he could remember at that moment in preparation for a confrontation.
A confrontation that never occured.
Seeing that he wasn't supposedly a demon scout from Hell in case Lucifer and Lilith attempted to wage war again, the two welcomed him warmly upon realizing he was just a human soul that happened to be powerful, too powerful.
He accompanied the First Man, who was the Head Exorcist at the time and was shown everything that Heaven had to offer, or at least as much as everything can be shown for a realm of infinite proportions.
Though his best memories of that time, was finally reuniting with his mother, who passed away when he was but a child right in front of him. If he was capable of crying in his new form, he would've, though his mother did shed more than enough tears for the both of them.
A few years went by as Satoru got used to this phantasmal paradise, and even became used to assisting the Head Seraphim and the First Man in their work when possible.
And even helping the second in command of the Exorcists with her infatuation with the Head Exorcist.
Life was good, until the queen of hell, the Archtraitor's bride, Lilith, appeared one day to make a deal with Adam, and in exchange for giving the man what he desired, he would let her stay in Heaven, a contract that would stay for as long as both parties arrived.
And though Adam pretended it was nothing, Satoru and many others noticed how exhausted he was mentally, his mind filled with conflicting thoughts following the deal signed with Lilith.
And it was then that Satoru stepped up to help one of the few friends he made in Heaven since he ascended, taking on the role of Head Exorcist and letting the First Man retire, this time, without any surprising new duties to take him by surprise again.
Shaking off those fond memories, the undead angel chuckled as he opened a gate towards the Morningstar's residence, preparing to go meet with the fallen seraphim.
His mind only contained thoughts of being done with this as quickly as possible to go back to the people who he considered his family and friends back in Heaven.
