Something odd is going on with Luca. Giulia can sense it, and her intuition rarely lets her down.

Alberto would never be the same without Luca. Who knew being an astronomy nerd would be so cute or mean so much.

Although Alberto seems to know a lot about life on the surface, Luca still teaches him a thing or two. Who knew learning about records could lead to figuring out so much more.

Underdogs and childhood friends, Luca and Giulia, are about to enter their freshmen year. They're very optimistic for a fresh start in a new school after not being so popular in grade school. Alberto, in his second year, is a bad boy who runs in a gang. This is based on an idea by numjumo on Tumblr. The art used for the cover is drawn by her. I have her permission to use it.

A bottle Alberto found in a shipwreck turns out to contain a wish-granting genie! The genie's memories - and Giulia's wish to be a sea monster like the boys - lead Luca and his friends on a quest to rediscover the lost history of interactions between the two worlds. But first they'll have to stop the genie from taking revenge on the sorcerer who trapped it in the bottle long ago.

Memories of the summer melted into hazy things like gelato melting in the summer sun.

Even if its healing up there still is something left from the trauma Alberto's dad inflicted and it feels a little like a ship in a bottle. Rated t for mentions of homophobia and eating disorders. Its all my headcannon.

Before going out to a party, Alberto questions if he deserves everything he has, the voice in his head, the one he has tried to silence for a long time, but that never goes away, not entirely, tells him not. It's Giulia's job to try to make her brother feel better by reminding him of all he has achieved.

Luca can't believe it; Alberto has returned to compete with him and Giulia, this should make him happy, but things are not that easy. Giulia and Alberto aren't on the best terms; this could affect their performance at the race. Will they be able to resolve their differences in time? Can the Underdogs win the Portorosso Cup; without the boys' revealing their identities?

Alberto Scorfano - Portorosso's pansexual punk - has set up his piercing parlor just a stone's throw from home.
