They sat at an outdoor cafe and she ordered a big milkshake and he simply watched her.
"Didn't you want something?" She asked looking up,
Oh he did, he wanted a lot of things, but he had been with her for over an hour and nothing seemed to jog her from the false life she was living.
"I know women like to eat," He said,
"Are you married?"
"No," He quickly stated. Kagome watched as a group of girls went by laughing and blushing, but his eyes never left her,
"Girlfriend?"
"No, are you interested in the position?"
Her milkshake almost came out of her nose "What?"
He didn't know why, but teasing her was most amusing, plus he could get away with it.
"Are you seeing that boy?"
"Boy?"
"Hojo I believe his name was,"
She smiled "Hojo is sweet and all, but he's more like a best friend,"
"Is he aware of that?"
She shrugged "I try to hint it here and there though im not sure if he gets it,"
"Hn"
She giggled again,
"Something you find amusing?" Why did she keep laughing at him, did she remember him and was just playing a game?
"It's the way you say Hn, I just haven't heard anyone talk like that before," She looked down and sipped the last bit of her milkshake.
"Are you done Kagome?"
She didn't know why but her heart fluttered when he said her name, her eyes looked up at met his. He felt it, she shifted in her heat, and something stirred, and he found it interesting.
"Um, yes thank,"
He walked with her as she bought a few more things, quietly this time and he watched her as she smiled and greeted people, she was the same yet different.
She didnt remember him, or Inuyasha or anything. He wondered for a moment if she would want to remember, would she be mad or happy, sad or angry?
"Sesshomaru?"
"Hn?"
She smiled, "Im done, unless there is anything you need to do?"
"No, come I will walk you home,"
He helped carry her bags,
"Thank you for buying me the dress and ice cream,"
"Hn"
He watched as another smile graced her face, she had never done that in the past.
"Will you attend the festival?" He found himself asking,
"Well now that I have a dress," She smiled brightly,
"You?"
He had thought about it ONLY because of the culture part of it, while he was used to and tolerated humans now he didn't like crowds, never did.
"Perhaps,"
They stopped at the step,
"Perhaps?"
"If you will join me perhaps I would go,"
Kagome thought for a moment, he did buy her the dress, it would be rude to refuse "A date?" She asked joking.
"If that is what you wish to call it,"
Her funny face disappeared "Wait your for real?"
Why was that so shocking to her? Of course, had this been the old Kagome who knew him he could get it, but she wasn't.
"Hn, Kagome,"
She blushed 7 shades of red and quickly bowed "Hia!"
"Till then," He said handing her bags to her, he then left and she walked up the shrine steps in a daze.
Her family watched as she smiled the rest of the night.
The men in her life were suspicious when the night of the festival arrived.
"What do you think it is?" Her little brother asked seeing Kagome run around trying to get ready.
"Mmmmm I think I know!" Her grandfather chimed with a finger in the air "It's a boy!"
"It's wonderful!" Her mother smiled behind the not-so-sneaky boys,
"Ahh, woman dont sneak up on us like that!" Grandfather demanded, "Yeah Mom, not cool!"
She answered by hugging them.
"Kagome you look wonderful"
"Thanks, Mom!" Kagome said spinning,
"Hey Kagome how did you buy that?" Her brother asked,
"Who are you going with?" Her grandfather asked, both peeking into her room from behind the door frame.
Her mother shut the door on their faces.
"So is it a date?" Her mother asked sitting on the bed. Kagome quickly looked at her "I um- She blushed.
Her mother smiled softy "Is it with that man who came to talk to Grampaw?"
Kagome slightly opened her mouth "Mom," She said softly,
"Mothers know everything," She stood up and placed a hair comb in her hair "Just be careful ok,"
"Grandpaw didn't seem to like him,"
"He is just worried about you dear,"
"Are you going to tell him?"
She stood back, her daughter looked like a woman "It will be our little secret for now," She winked "Why dont I walk you down,"
"Yes please,"
Kagome's mother led her out of the house and slammed the door on the boys as they left. He was waiting at the bottom of the steps for her. She walked down gracefully and met him "Hi,"
He looked at her, all of her "The dress suits you well,"
She blushed "I like your outfit too, but didn't men wear black mostly when they got married?"
He raised an eyebrow, did she remember something?
"Hn, perhaps I'll end up married tonight,"
She blinked and then blushed more "Do you tease everyone or just me?"
"I like your reaction," He offered his arm, and she slowly took it.
"My reaction, why?" She really didn't understand his teasing.
"Most people fear me,"
Women looked at him as they passed,
"I dont think the girls fear you," She smiled,
"You blush," He said,
And she blushed again "I would think you would be used to girls blushing at you," She looked ahead he eyed her "Do you find this one attractive?"
She smiled at his speech but didn't look at him "You're very good-looking," She looked at him "You ask that as if you are unware?"
No, he knew he was good-looking, he just didn't think she thought he was good-looking.
"I am aware that others find me attractive I was unsure if you found me attractive,"
It sounded so weird to her, he said that like he knew her for a long time or something.
