My Little Pony: Civil War
It was once just me and my griffon-scone cart not long ago. I didn't have much to look forward to in my life before I joined up to fight. I'm Gilda. It makes me proud that I am fighting alongside the ponies and griffons for rights that everyone should have. For the first time in my life, I'm a part of something special. Gabby and I got our first promotions
We were handled brass-handled 'S & K Sword Bayonets' to denote our rank, "Congratulations, Gilda and Gabriela, for your bravery in battle have been awarded with the rank of corporal," said Captain Blue Belle with a hoof-to-talon shake to me. I smiled, and she smiled back. I don't blame any of the tercel-griffons for staring at her backside on a march.
"We did it-we did it-we did it!" Gabby cheered
"Put a sock in that trap!" I snapped, closing her beak
I chuckled lightly seeing Gabby smile with puffing cheeks. I can't be mad at her. I let loose my grip on her cute beak, "You're right, Gabby, we did it," I said as I hugged her. A bit of a mistake on my part to the humor of my commanders. Gabby picked me up as I hugged her, and spun with me in her embrace and nuzzled me, "Ok down, Gabby, down!"
"I'm sorry, I could not resist," said Gabby, and I ruffled the top of her head. Two light blue stripes are now sewn into the upper sleeves of our tunic jackets. I was whittling away at a small stick with my Rifleman's Knife when I saw Captain Blue Belle and Captain Valiant Charge come out of their tents all gussied up in dresses with feathers in their manes.
"Captains, what's the big occasion?" I asked
"We're going to a party," said Valiant Charge
"The Spring Blossom Social, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna wanted us in attendance, we should be back by this evening, you and Gabby are in charge until then," said Blue Belle, Gabby and I saluted to our Captains and they went on their way to the evening party. That morning after the party, I'd suspected there was a problem. Neither came back.
"What're we going to do?" Gabby asked me, "who knows what could've happened to them," she sniffled, I hushed to Gabby to keep her from crying. Just then as we were about to take action, a changeling flew in our camp, "it's Ocellus," said Gabby as I let her go. Ocellus flew down, and caught her breath. Ocellus must've been at the party that evening
"Where are our officers?!" I demanded
"Please! Tell us!" pleaded Gabby out of panic
"I saw what happened, there were two spies disguised as server-ponies, they had chloroformed them and took them away, I followed them the best I could, they met up with a rendezvous with a Separatist Captain, they're heading south toward Appleloosa," Ocellus explained, count on a changeling like her to do her part, and give detailed descriptions.
"I'll keep watch over the Griffon-Soldiers, go get your officers back," said General Razor Edge. We took a handful of Griffon-Soldiers in the form of Galena, Georgia, and Gallus to help us with this mission. Heading south to Appleloosa means going through the Everfree Forest, and a mountain pass. With our Colt Revolving Rifles ready, we are set to march.
"We start with the officers," I whispered
"Then we'll work our way down," added Gabby
We heard a wagon, and the sound of hooves coming up the trail. We hid behind trees, fallen logs, and boulders. Seeing the head officer and his feathery hat, one wonders why we Griffons will aim at them first in the heat of battle? Now you know. I closed my eyes as I hid behind a tree. I opened them as I slowly turned and quietly cocked the hammer.
I looked down the barrel, and with one shot to the temple I took him down. I hid back quick as the Captain called out to 'present!', and that was when Gabby took her shot, and she shot him in the head between the eyes. The corporal called out 'take aim!', and he was immediately shot by Georgia in the heart, and fell on her back. This attack is now on.
"Fire!" called out a rebel, hitting nothing
"Where are they?!" she asked, and was instantly shot
Blue Belle and Valiant Charge were tied to the back of the wagon, and ducked as the shooting started. Bullets cut through the forest air as Gabby and I moved like ghosts in the trees. Georgia and Galena held their position at a fallen log. Bits of tree bark were kicked up, and the 'ping' sounds of shots missing their marks echoed on the dusty trails below.
I nodded to Gabby and the others. We slung our Colt rifles behind our wings. We swooped down on the Rebel-Ponies, or what was left of them. I parried a rifle, and made a rebel shoot his own comrade in the head, and slit his throat. Gabby blocked a charging bayonet with a rifleman's axe, and stabbed the rebel-mare in the gut. That left two more for us
"Don't move! Or Sugah-Flanks gets it!" one threatened
"You did NOT just call us that," said an annoyed Blue Belle
It was a unicorn, using magic to hold a revolver to Valiant Charge's temple, and a knife to Blue Belle's throat. Georgia had a rifleman's axe ready. The edge bloodied from battle. With a lightning quick reflex, she threw the axe. It hit the unicorn square in the middle of the forehead. Georgia went up to pull the axe out of his skull. I call that a job well done
