About 2 pm the next day, Dallas was waiting for Johnny, Bexley, and Ponyboy to meet him at the edge of Sutton and Picket Street. He lit up a smoke while he waited. They were going to go through the town before they would go to the Nightly Double later that night. The Nightly Double was at the Admiril Drive-In, which plays two movies every weekend.

After a while, the trio came up to him. Ponyboy wore a navy blue sleeveless shirt and jeans. His dark hair was slicked back because of the grease he put in it. Bexley wore a white t-shirt with a red, blue and white flannel with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, light blue jeans with tears in the knees. Her hair was in a low ponytail with hair covering the back of her neck with bangs. As for Johnny, he hadn't changed his clothes, which was a black shirt, his denim jacket, and denim jeans.

When they walked up to Dally, Ponyboy gave him a slap on the shoulder. "Hey, Dal," he said after he did it. Bexley had a lit cigarette in her left hand and she took a drag of it. "We're early," Dally said, leaning against a lightpost with his thumbs hanging out of his jean pockets.

"So what are we doing, Dal? Anything legal?" Bexley asked, which made the blonde hood smile sideways. "Nope. Let's get outta here," he replied as he started to walk ahead with the trio following him. They all walked through the town, going to a burger joint that was called The Way Out.

It was a place where most greasers hung out at. When Dally, Johnny, Ponyboy, and Bexley had made it there, they tried talking with some greasers that were in their cars. However, a fight between some of the greasers started up, getting Dally and them to look over. It was all fun and games until one in a yellow jacket pulled a blade out.

Then, two police cars showed up, which was Dally and them's cue to leave the area before things got really bad. Afterwards, the four of them went down to the DX, where Soda and Steve were working outside on two cars. Bexley had said that she wouldn't be getting a job until she and Soda turned 17 next month.

Steve was the first to see them coming and he grinned. "Hey, Soda, here come the hobos," he said ironically. "Hardy har, Steve," Bexley chuckled at him as they made it there. "Hey, Sodapop," Ponyboy said, leaning on one of the gas tanks that was there. "Hey, I ain't got no cash," one of them said.

They all hung around there for a little while longer before they left to go get some ice cream. At one point, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Bexley were able to keep the people behind the counter while Dally snagged some smokes from the cupboard behind the counter. Then, they left with the smokes in their possession.

"So what's the movie about?" Johnny asked while they all walked through the town together. Dally put Pony and Johnny in a quick, playful headlock. "Ow! Cut it out, Dallas," Johnny exclaimed when the blonde did this. "I have no idea, John. One of those beach movies, y'know?" he replied, lighting another smoke. "Sounds riveting, Dal. It's gotta be one of the movies that doesn't have a plot behind it," Bexley said, putting her thumbs in her jean pockets. "Yeah, that's one of them," Dally replied.

The four of them walked around a building that had three younger kids playing with some cards in the grass. Dally wasn't a fan of kids, which was pretty obvious from whenever he looked at one. "Did I say that you kids could play in my grass, huh?" he said to them, looking down at the kids. They all looked up at the blonde hood and they shook their heads at him.

"What're you doing here, then? Here, give those to me," Dally said as he took the playing cards, fixing them up. "You ever play 52 card pick up?" he asked them. They all said that they did. "What? Hey, don't get wise," Dally said while shaking his head. Bexley took a step forward towards the younger kids.

"You little shits better start running because he doesn't like little kids. He might even kill ya," she said putting an arm on his shoulder. With that, Dally releases the cards, letting them fall to the ground. Then, the kids started to run as fast as they could from the four hoods. The four greasers gave chase, running into a field.

"Yeah, go on, get outta here, you little brats!" Ponyboy shouted as they came to a stop. But those little kids didn't stop running though. They all looked up at the sky, seeing that it was starting to get dark. "We better get going if we're gonna make the movie in time," Bexley told them. "You're right. Let's go," Johnny agreed with her.
