Chapter 8 Attack's and chasing leads
Author's notes I do not own Marvel just the idea for this fic which is set in an AU Along with my OC's Jack and Graham Williams and others who might show up in this fic in future chapters like The Serpent. Also, some characters will be OOC in this story.
That is enough of an author's notes, on with chapter 8.
Marine One
President Ellis did not say a word as Marine One took off from the White House once everyone was on board, not for a few minutes as the helicopter was heading for Air Force One.
His wife was silent has well, her thoughts were where her husbands were, their children. Their two sons who were in college, were they be alright, would they ever see them again.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Gregson getting an update from the Department of Defence "The five missiles are not heading for South Korea or Japan. Tracking data suggests they are heading for different locations on the West Coast."
President Ellis said "Our naval and air forces are ready to intercept these missiles and take them out?"
The general nodded once saying "Ships off the coast of California are ready to fire has soon as those missiles are in range. Fighters are in the air. Director Phil Coulson has been in contact, they are aware of the situation and have some of their SHIELD Quinjets over the West Coast and ready to take down the missiles has well."
The helicopter landed at the runway where Air Force One was, everyone got on board has another helicopter landed with other members of the cabinet who were in DC, others were on their way to other secure locations at that very moment.
With everyone on board, Air Force One took off, President Ellis and those in his cabinet there went into the situation room, followed by his advisor Graham Williams.
The President asked for an update on the situation and General Gregson had a display put up on a screen, showing the feed from Space Command in the Pentagon.
The General said "The missiles will soon pass Hawaii, the targets appear to be cities on the West Coast, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego and Las Vegas."
The missiles headed towards their targets and some of them were within range of US naval ships off the coast of California, the ships opened fire taking 3 of the missiles, while the US air force and SHIELD Quinjets took out the others a minute later.
President Ellis breathed a sigh of relief at this good news and knew what he had to do, he got on the phone and contacted the leaders of Japan and South Korea, they all needed to be in complete agreement for what happened next.
The calls with the leaders of Japan and South Korea were very brief, they were all in agreement that the DPRK must be immediately punished, what happened cannot stand and there must be retaliation, it was clear to everyone Kim Jong Un has lost his damn mind.
A call then came in over the Beijing – Washington hotline, it was the Chinese President Xi Jinping, who in a short statement to President Ellis condemned the actions of Kim Jong Un in launching nuclear weapons at the United States and made it clear China's position, if the US and their allies took military action against Kim and the DPRK, they would not interfere.
The orders were given out to troops already in South Korea has part of the build up of US troops in the country, when the fighting between the rebels and the DRPK began.
Members of the US special forces, along with South Korean and Japanese special forces were to go into North Korea with two objectives, number one, take possession of the DPRK's remaining nukes before they could be used again and number 2 find and kill Kim Jong Un wherever he was hiding in the Hermit Kingdom.
With other military units heading into the DRPK to deal with the loyalist forces, the rebels were about to get the military might of the US, South Korea, and Japan on their side in this civil war.
Over a dozen stealth blackhawk helicopters took off from military bases in South Korea heading for the DPRK heading for the nuclear sites North Korea had that they knew about to remove Kim's remaining nukes from play.
With others heading for bunkers deep in North Korea that US and South Korean intelligence knew about, Kim Jong Un had to be hiding in one of them, just a matter of search and destroy.
Among the US soldiers being sent into the DPRK to find Kim Jong Un and eliminate him were US army rangers, Captain John Walker, and Sergeant Major Lemar Hoskins. Like everyone on this mission, they knew what they had to do, put down the North Korean made dog before anymore innocent lives were lost in Kim's madness.
The first of the Blackhawk helicopters arrived at the first North Korean nuclear sites with a firefight between DPRK loyalists and the US and South Korean troops broke out.
As all this was going on, US President Ellis was contacting the United States Congress for a formal declaration of war against the DPRK explaining what happened and that the threat was neutralised, which was granted quickly after an emergency vote was held.
New York City
At an underground casino, several men were in a back room, talking to the owner of the casino, Robert Carlise, who had ties to the Italian mob who were big in the arms trade on the East Coast, the men gave him offer he found very interesting. Offering 100 million dollars to just get them a meeting with head of the family who was known to deal in arms.
These men were members of HYDRA and they had a proposition for the boss and Robert was intrigued by the offer and got on the phone to the boss at that very moment, he knew that he would want to know about this big money offer.
As the call was made, the CCTV footage for the casino went down and Robert ordered his men to go see what happened, it was not long after that when gunshots rang out and there was screaming from patrons.
It was not long before members of NYPD SWAT and SHIELD agents had Robert, his top lieutenants and 3 HYDRA members in custody.
3 mobsters were dead in the shootout, no civilians harmed, one SWAT member got a flesh wound but would be OK and no one else injured.
It was a good raid; the mobsters were taken into police custody while the HYDRA members were brought to a SHIELD blacksite in the city.
Team Hunter had questions for them.
Once they arrived, each of three HYDRA members were taken to separate interrogation rooms and questioned by a member of the team.
One was put in a room, shackled to a desk and before long, a tall man with black hair and blue eyes entered the room saying "My name is Agent Jack Williams and you are a member of the vile group of murderers known has HYDRA. Tell me, what were you doing in the casino, was not to get a line of credit to play at the tables some more, that much is obvious."
The HYDRA member at first said nothing before Jack said "Maybe you know me, by another name. Headhunter. HYDRA must tell ghost stories about the man who was cutting a bloody path through them about 2 years ago. All the bodies I left in my wake."
The man looked at Jack with fear in his eyes and Jack smiled, he liked to see HYDRA members scared, it is no less then what they deserved for all the pain, all the misery they inflicted on others.
The agent asked in fear "What do you want to know?"
Jack sat down across from him at the table and asking "Why were you at the casino?"
The man answered "We were sent there to meet with Robert Carlise, we knew he had ties to the mob and could get us a meeting with the biggest arms dealers on the East Coast. All HYDRA cells got the same order, get a lot of arms and ammo, by the order of The Serpent, the new head of HYDRA."
The door opened and Natasha Romanoff walked in asking "What are the arms and ammo for? Who is The Serpent?"
The agent answered honestly "I do not know why he wants us to gather arms and ammo, he just gave the word to all HYDRA cells in the North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and South America to do that. Not many of us left, but we did what we were ordered to do."
The man took a deep breath before he continued "As for The Serpent, I do not know who he is. But I know he took over HYDRA after his wife, Madame HYDRA ended up in a coma following an attack on a HYDRA base in the Middle East. Some of low-level guys, we talk among ourselves. I do know this about The Serpent."
He started to tell them everything that he knew, heck he was a dead man already., "He was originally part of a HYDRA cell based in Asia, the man who ran it, was a man named Tanoui, He was one brutal man, but he had a code, once you were part of HYDA, you were like part of his own family. One day, this man from Australia showed up, claims he was ex Australian Intelligence who apparently went rogue. No one really knows the truth. But once he joined Tanoui's HYDRA cell, he rose through the ranks, bit by bit, kill by kill. Madame Hydra who was Tanoui's second in command, fell for him, fell for him hard as some say. He soon became Tanoui's top assassin, others in the cell warned him that this man is not to be trusted, he is dangerous. Poisonous like a Serpent. They were proven right. Serpent and Madame Hydra made their own alliance and got most of the cell to join them. They stabbed him in the back, well metaphorically. In reality The Serpent blew his brains out, execution style."
Flashback 18 months ago HYDRA base Thailand
The base was in flames as men and women in black and red armour were going around killed Tanoui's loyal followers, Madame Hydra in her green attire was cutting through some men like cake with her sword.
The Serpent, in his black and red armour with the skull mask on, was walking with confidence with a revolver in hand, which only had 1 bullet in it and the man who some in HYDRA claimed had no fear, proved that, spinning the chamber of the gun, pointing it at his own head, pulling the trigger, getting a click.
He walked over to Tanoui who was on his knees, injured in the fighting but alive and spined the chamber of the gun again before opening fire, the bullet went through Tanoui's head, as The Serpent smiled, the woman he loved would now lead this cell of HYDRA and go on to lead more then just one HYDRA cell before long, all of HYDRA would bow to her.
End of Flashback
Natasha then asked "Where are these other HYDRA cells that got these orders to get arms and ammo?"
The man told them the locations of HYDRA cells in the US and 2 in Europe that he knew about, he did not know more than that.
Jack contacted SHIELD bases in those areas, along with their allies in Europe, to coordinate a strike against these HYDRA cells.
Today they would strike a blow against HYDRA, being one step further to winning this war against HYRDA, once and for all.
Team Hunter members started to arm up getting automatic weapons with silencers attached and putting on bulletproof vests, they were going to go after the local HYDRA cell in New York City themselves.
The HYDRA cell was operating out of a butcher's shop in Queens, according to the captive, the owner of the butcher shop and other employees were HYDRA, happy to let them use his place of business for their work and give others some work while in the city.
The team struck quickly after arriving near the shop, the shop was empty with no customers, clearly the place did not get much business, the three employees there were taken down with headshots by Ben who was on a nearby roof with a sniper rifle.
The team entered the building and went through the back door of the business. The half dozen or so HYDRA members were either killed or taken captive.
Inside the area, they found a small cache of weapons and plans for attacks on the New York Stock Exchange and City Hall. It seemed HYDRA was making plans to sow more chaos.
The other HYDRA cells were raided with only a few causalities among SHIELD teams in the US who went after the cells in Dallas Texas and in Miami Florida and some wounded in the local law enforcement raids in Europe against HYDRA, similar plans for attacks were found there as well.
They had even found a dozen Inhuman's held captive at the HYDRA base in Austria, seemed that cell had plans to attack the United Nations during the upcoming General Assembly meeting at the Vienna International Building that was in the works and was now prevented.
Thankfully HYDRA's plans in those countries were all prevented and they had a name for the new head of HYDRA, the Serpent who Jack Williams vowed to take down, to finally put an end of HYDRA, once and for all.
North Korea
Captain John Walker, opened fire taking down another DPRK soldier in the bunker, he ordered the team to move on further inro the facility.
The bunker had a lot of troops in it, taken down by the US and South Korean special forces of the elite 707th, for this bunker near Pyongyang to have so many troops in it, troops from one of most elite military units in the North Korean regime the Korean People's Army Special Operations Forces. clearly a higher up was here, maybe one of the top generals, or maybe even Kim Jong Un himself.
The fighting had been fierce has the North Korean troops were fighting to the last man, Walker took down another hostile near a locked door.
The lock was shot off and a grenade was thrown in by one of the South Korean troops, before a small group of four went in, all there found were dead men dressed in suits, bodyguards and they were of the elite unit 963, the North Korean Guard Bureau and they were charged with one thing, the protection of the Kim family and other higher ups in the DPRK.
Lemar Hoskins saw the bodies and said "If they were here. Good chance that fatso Kim is here as well."
The team were contacted and told that the high priority target was in the bunker and to be on alert, any remaining opposition was going to fight to the bitter end to try and keep their dear leader alive.
Some of the others in the team reported in that they engaged in a firefight 2 floors down with over a dozen of Unit 963. Walker and his team headed down there as fast as possible.
Several of those in the firefight were dead or wounded by the time they got there, Walker threw a flashbang and that gave them the advantage to take down those members of Unit 963, the teams entered a room they were guarding and saw it was a fancy looking office, it did not seem like anyone was there, but they heard sounds of crying near a desk.
The armed US and South Korean soldiers then saw him, the tyrant of North Korea, the grandson of Kim ll Sung, Kim Jong Un himself, hiding under the desk, crying, and cowering in fear like a child.
He was dragged to his feet and started to shout at them, one of the South Korean troops hit him to the ground with his gun saying "Shut up you dog!"
Walker contacted command, to let them know they found Kim Jong Un alive and got the order to take him out, the head of the South Korean troops was doing the same and got the same order, he opened fire with a pistol shooting Kim once in the head and once again in the chest.
With that the special forces troops planted explosives to destroy the bunker a few minutes after they left as they fell back.
US President Ellis was told that the mission to find and kill Kim Jong Un was a complete success, but the good news was soon followed by some very bad news.
The other teams were at the nuclear sites inside the DPRK, all the opposition there was eliminated and a count was done of all the Nuclear Missiles there, the DPRK had 40 missiles, 5 were fired at the United States and destroyed, that should leave 35 of them left.
The count, done twice to make sure, only counted 32 nuclear missiles, three of them were missing and the few survivors at the sites who had surrendered rather than fight had no idea where they were or who had them. Just that they were moved from the site a week ago on orders from up high.
The President felt a shiver of fear down his spine at the prospect of 3 nukes out there in the world and who might get their hands on them.
SHIELD HQ
Loki looked across from Sif, neither of them said a word at first, the hot and heavy making out they had done still on their minds.
Sif spoke first with some hesitation said "I had always found you oddly charming even all those years ago and I thought despite everything you had done, even with what happened in New York, that you had some good in you. That has been proven for all to see now when you helped evacuate survivors from Asgard. You can try to hide it, but you are a good man."
Loki smiled and Sif offered to get them something to eat and left the room as Loki sat back and reflected on how things had gone since Asgard was destroyed and wondered what was going to happen next.
He would make up for the sins of his past, for what Thanos made him do to Earth, while controlled by the Mind Stone. Anyway, he could and do whatever he had to do.
Los Angeles, California
A cargo ship arrived at a private port where several armed individuals from the terror group the Watchdogs were waiting, several North Korean army officers got off the boat and met with the leader of this group of the Watchdogs, they were told that if the money that was offered to them was good enough, then the hate group just bought themselves 3 nuclear missiles.
The man behind this off the books deal was a high ranking DPRK army general who saw the writing on the wall for what would happen to the regime once army units on mass started to disobey orders from the dear leader, so he made plan to flee and took 3 of the nuclear missiles with him to use as bargaining chips to get enough cash to live comfortably in Switzerland for the rest of his life under an assumed name where the South Korea NIS would never find him, or the American CIA.
The payments went through the dark web to the Swiss bank account and once the general was assured that the money came through and good, the missiles now had new owners, as Watchdogs gave orders for the cargo to be unloaded, the missiles would be put to good use by them in their mission.
Their leader had a perfect target in mind for their shiny new toys. One that the world would never forget.
