Chapter 2: The Power of the King

"Where are they?" Naruko asked herself, looking around.

Currently, the new mage is looking for Asta and Yuno, but for different reasons. The first to cheer him up and the second to reprimand him and maybe punch him in the face.

Beside her floats the grimoire she received during the ceremony, which further disturbs Naruko to discover that she has her own magic book.

After the ceremony, Naruko and the church group left the tower, the latter returning directly to the orphanage/church, thinking that Asta and Yuno returned home, but Naruko was doubtful and began searching outside the village.

If she was Asta, she wouldn't have gone back home, wanting to reflect on her side to know how she failed. What she had done when she failed her three exams.

For Yuno, she thought he would be in his corner trying out these new techniques. Again, that's what she had done when she had taken the scroll of forbidden techniques.

"Should we also think on our side? I'm curious to know how you were able to have a grimoire! Especially since it's different from the others!" Kurama said, wanting to know why his host has a grimoire.

"We can think about it later! Right now, what I'm concerned about is finding Asta!" Naruko replied as she continued to look around for the two boys.

She stops walking when she hears voices coming from inside a ruined building.

"Ultimately, I don't think this is a good idea!" Naruko jumps onto the wall, hiding in the bushes and discreetly looks at the people inside.

She spots Yuno a few meters from a closed double door, while in front of him stand two boys of the same age, who she doubts were part of the ceremony.

"Need I remind you that this redneck stole the show today!" The long-haired boy exclaimed to his classmate before looking at Yuno with anger and jealousy. "He deserves a good lesson! It makes me sick that he got the four-leaf clover! It should have gone to me!"

"Wait!" his friend began, but the blond didn't listen.

"If I can't have it, I'll burn it!" The blond finished before opening his grimoire as flames appeared around him before rushing towards Yuno.

Naruko was about to intervene, but Yuno simply raises his hand, and a small tornado appears around him, sweeping away the flames, as if it were just a simple candle.

"Huh! He put out my flames without even using his grimoire!" The blond exclaimed in disbelief before looking at his comrade. "What are you waiting for! Cast a spell on him!"

But before his companion can act, chains come out of the walls and capture the two mages, who scream in panic before being imprisoned on the walls.

"I wouldn't mind if you hurt him, you see, because I need him!" A man chuckled in amusement as he advanced towards the group. "No use trying to escape! His chains absorb your magic and block your movements!" He said he saw the two boys trying to escape in vain.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Yuno asked as she looked at the mysterious person suspiciously.

The man chuckled in amusement, as his chains snaked around his body. "Mhmhmh! My name is Revchi Salik! I had a little reputation among the mage knights, but I was banished after failing a mission and now I'm nothing but a miserable thief!" The man now known as Revchi finished.

Before Yuno can answer, new chains come out of the ground and immobilize the boy in place, while another chain grabs his grimoire to pull him towards the thief.

"But enough talking. I'll get rid of this grimoire for you." Revchi chuckled as he took the grimoire.

"Why steal it? You should know that only the rightful owner of a grimoire can read the scriptures." Yuno said, still calm despite the situation.

Revchi's smile grew bigger and more greedy. "I know that, but there are plenty of people who would pay a lot to have a grimoire of four-leaf clovers! You may have been lucky to have such a grimoire, but unfortunately for you, I am still a former mage-knight, while you are just a peasant with no experience of real life! Your legend ends before..."

Bam!

"Argh!" The thief screamed in pain, feeling someone hit him in the head, causing him to lose his balance.

"The only one where the story is going to end is you!" Naruko yelled as she landed on the ground, after coming out of her hiding place to jump on the thief and kick him in the head.

"The girl with the crown grimoire!" Revchi growled, holding his aching head before standing up.

"My name is Naruko Uzumaki Namikaze! That's the name of the one who's going to kick your ass, thief!" The blonde proclaimed as she took up a fighting stance.

* Naruko! * Yuno thought in surprise, not expecting the young blonde to intervene.

But before anyone can say where to do anything, they hear a voice coming from above the walls

"Stop it!" Asta yelled as he jumped off the walls and landed on the ground…

At least that's what he planned to do, but he hit the other side of the wall and fell painfully to the ground.

Everyone remains silent about what they just saw. Not knowing what to say or do in front of this ridiculous scene.

"I thought your entry onto the bridge of the Land of Waves was stupid, I realize that someone else can do worse than you." Kurama said, interrupting the silence.

*Hey, that was a nice heroic entrance!*

After a few seconds, Asta recovers from his shock and stands up, pointing a finger at the first person he sees. "What's going on! Why are you picking on Yuno?!"

Only to realize that the person he is accusing and one of the boys, still imprisoned. Realizing his mistake, he then looks at the thief.

"You, release Yuno immediately!" Asta exclaimed, having guessed that it was him from the fact that his grimoire was open and that Naruko had no reason to take it from Yuno.

Revchi is silent for a moment before realizing who the boy is and chuckling. "Ah, but you're the poor boy who didn't receive a grimoire at the ceremony."

"Yes, it's me, so what? Don't change the subject! Release Yuno immediately, you bastard!" Asta demanded, not caring about his situation, wanting to save his brother and rival.

"You know, kid, the outside world is a place where the law of the strongest reigns, but you won't live long enough to learn that!" Revchi said with a dark smile, lifting his black hair to show the left side of his face, marked by a burn.

Yuno notices the thief's grimoire starting to glow and realizing what he's planning, Yuno yelled at his adoptive brother. "Asta, run away!"

But the latter remains motionless and when Revchi makes chains appear, the boy without magic runs towards the thief. "No, I came to free you!"

Revchi deploys his chains, but thanks to Asta's training, the latter manages to dodge and jump behind the criminal, intending to knock him out with one blow.

Unfortunately, before he can touch it, chains wrap around his stomach, holding him in place.

"I'll crush you!" Asta yelled, trying to move forward despite the chains.

"Oh really! You're not..." Revchi started but had to step back to the side to avoid another kick from Naruko.

"Don't forget that there are two of us!" Naruko said.

The thief didn't answer and threw chains at the blonde girl, who easily dodged the attacks while advancing towards the thief.

Seeing her approaching him, Revchi tried to back away, but was stuck against a wall.

"AAAH!" Naruko screamed as she swung her fist at the former mage knight's face.

Seeing the danger and not having time to block his attack, Revchi summons one of his chains, then grabs it to fly into the air. Narrowly dodging the attack, which hits the wall.

While everyone expected her to break her hand, they were surprised to see that it was the wall that broke, revealing a small vertical crater.

*What is this power?! No one should have such strength! * Revchi thought in disbelief.

"Wow Naruko, you're incredibly strong!" Asta exclaimed with stars in his eyes, unable to help but be amazed despite the situation.

*At least the mummy-teme's experiments had positive effects. * Naruko thought, remembering that Hiruko had increased his muscle strength, in order to rival Tsunade's.

Even though she hadn't trained for 2 years, due to her captivity, Hiruko had improved her body. Whether it was resistance, speed or even immunity against fish, in order for her to be able to withstand the orb, but also that it is a powerful body when it possesses her. Naruko was certain that if she hadn't been kidnapped, she wouldn't be as strong with Jiraiya's training... or without lack of training.

That didn't mean she forgave him for all the pain he caused her and that she would make him pay if they ever saw each other again.

Revchi landed a few meters away, no longer having his arrogant expression, replaced by annoyance and slight worry.

Seeing that the girl was more dangerous than she looked, he knew he had little chance, but looking at the two prisoners, an idea crossed his mind.

To everyone's surprise, Revchi released the two boys. "How about helping me get rid of those three?" Revchi offered to the two boys, having a better chance of beating the girl with those two.

"W-Why do we have to help you?! You captured us to take the other peasant's grimoire?!" The blond haired boy stuttered with his comrade nodding.

"That's true, but because it was a stupid idea to destroy the grimoire, when it would bring a lot of money! Imagine. If you help me, you will have enough gold to live your days peacefully, until your death." The thief replied.

The words captivate the two boys, who begin to imagine their lives in a luxurious palace, surrounded by servants and several noble women.

Seeing that this gets their attention, Revchi continues. "Besides, if we get rid of them, they won't be able to take the exam to become a mage knight and overshadow you. I could even help you with advice, since I was a mage knight too."

What he doesn't say is that he had no intention of sharing his prize, much less helping them become mage knights, preferring to leave them in their misery after getting rid of the other three.

Hearing the last part, a dark smile appears on the blond and brunette boy before they activate their grimoires.

"Take that, commoner!" The blond exclaimed as he threw a fireball at Naruko, who dodged the attack without any problem.

*These two got fooled like idiots, when it's obvious that the thieves are manipulating them!* Naruko thought, not being able to believe the stupidity of the two boys.

But before she could attack him, she had to jump into the air to avoid a rock spike thrown by the other boy.

"Damn, aim better next time Chris!" the blond yelled at his comrade.

"Okay Robert, I'll do… Aaah!" The brunette boy began before jumping to the side when Naruko dove at him to kick him.

He manages to dodge, but like the wall, a small crater forms, due to the power of Naruko's kick.

Robert tried to attack the commoner again with a fireball while her back was turned, but like last time, she dodged without difficulty and ran towards him.

Robert didn't have time to dodge or retaliate and Naruko kicks him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

"ROBERT!" Chris yelled in panic before looking at his opponent. "You're going to pay for what you did to him!" He exclaimed, summoning a head-sized rock and throwing it at the blonde.

But to his surprise, Naruko destroys his spell with her fist, shattering the rock into pieces.

"This is incredible!" Asta exclaimed.

"Tss, bunch of incompetents!" Revchi murmured, seeing that even with his two mages to help him, the situation does not change anything.

Seeing that the brown boy was about to cast a new spell, Revchi then had an idea and he looked at the boy without magic, who was trying to free himself from his chains.

Without warning, he throws a dozen chains at the boy, who doesn't have time to notice before screaming in pain when the chains pierce his flesh.

Her scream caught the attention of the others, including Naruko, but it was a mistake, as she received Chris' attack on the torso, causing her to be thrown against the wall, screaming in pain.

Revchi chuckled in amusement, seeing her distraction in walking, but to make sure she didn't get back up, he deployed more chains to immobilize the girl on the wall.

"Well, you gave me a hard time, but I finally captured you and as a reward, I think I'll take your grimoire." The thief said before capturing Naruko's grimoire with a new chain.

"Good, now we can get richer and become a mage knight more easily!" Chrs said triumphantly.

"Not before I make that commoner pay for what she did to me!" Robert growled angrily at Naruko, after recovering from the latter's attack.

Naruko growled in pain and anger. She tried to free herself from the chains, but quickly realized that she was unable to, even with her great strength.

"I will become… Mage Emperor…" Asta muttered weakly, as his body was bruised and crushed on the other side of the wall.

This caught the others' attention before Revchi laughed and leaned on his shoulder with his boot. "You! Mage Emperor! What a joke! I can tell if someone has magic by touching them with my chains! And you unfortunately don't have any! That's why you'll never have a grimoire!"

"I've never heard of a person without magic! He might not be human?" Robert added with a cruel smile, loving tormenting the weakest.

"I bet his parents abandoned him at birth, when they found out he had no magic in him." Chris said before he, his comrade, and even Revchi laughed in amusement.

Hearing the insults from the three attackers, Naruko grew more and more angry, remembering the same words the villagers said about her. She wanted so badly to make them pay, but she wasn't able to at the moment.

"I've never met someone so pitiful! The very idea that you could become a Mage Emperor is a huge joke! Your two friends must be laughing at you too!" Revchi continued as he continued to hit Asta with his boot, while the boy did nothing or said anything to defend himself.

*What is he talking about? What if it's true? Yuno is strong and he received the four-club grimoire. While me, no matter how hard I try, I'll never be able to use magic! * Asta thought, as doubt and despair began to emerge in his mind.

"You'll never amount to anything in this world! You should let go! You've been a loser since birth!" The former mage-knight continued.

"He's right! Even with effort, a commoner is still a commoner and a loser is still a loser! It's the natural order! You should just give up!" Robert chuckled darkly, as Asta remained motionless.

"Bastard!" Naruko growled, struggling even harder to free herself from the chains.

*Kit, I'll give you some of my power to free you, but I don't know what effect it will have on your body! * Kurama warned in Naruko's mind.

*No matter, I have to save Asta! *

But before the fox can say what he said, Yuno speaks, catching Revchi's attention.

"Hey! It's true that Asta will never become Mage Emperor, because I'll be the one to become one."

"Did you hear? Even your boyfriend thinks the same thing about…" Revchi said as he looked back at Asta, but the wind mage continued.

"But he's not a loser. Asta is my rival!" Yuno finished with a smile as she looked at Asta.

Yuno's words were like a wake-up call to Asta.

"Geez Yuno, you really like to overdramatize things!" Naruko said, unable to help but smile at the wind mage's statement.

"Him, your rival? When doesn't he even have any magic power?" Revchi mocked, with the other two attackers laughing.

But suddenly the thief felt a grip on his leg and saw the boy without magic holding his limb.

"This… isn't over!" Asta growled, a new, decisive glint in his eyes.

Asta's expression surprised Revchi, who took several steps back.

"Sorry for putting you through this sad spectacle, Yuno and Naruko! Just a little more patience! I'll take care of him!" He said, slowly getting up from the ground.

It was at this moment that something unexpected happened.

While the sun was still at dusk, the sky suddenly turned black and a worn black book with a red aura appeared in front of Asta.

The scene was so astonishing that no one said anything except the boy concerned.

"A grimoire?" Asta whispered softly in amazement.

"I knew it. I knew you would have yours too, Asta." Yuno said, although surprised by the appearance of the book, he knew that his rival would have his grimoire too.

The book opens in the middle and a huge rusty sword comes out, also surrounded by a red aura.

The sword floats in the air for a moment before crashing to the ground.

Without thinking, Asta stands up and grabs the weapon, as if he knows what he should do.

*This power? It's similar to mine? The one I have now! * Kurama thought intrigued.

"Asta has always been like this. He always manages to do the impossible. Today as before." Yuno said, remembering the day that had marked his life.

"What the hell?! How can he have a grimoire, when he has no magic?! And what is this sword?!" Revchi yelled, now becoming panicked.

Crack!

The thief turns his head towards the noise, only to widen his eyes and be even more panicked as he sees the girl's grimoire breaking the chains that imprison it as a golden aura surrounds it.

After a few moments, the grimoire freed itself completely and opened in the middle, letting out a light as bright as the sun, while the sky was at dusk again.

And just like Asta's grimoire, Naruko's let out a sword. Although less imposing, its appearance was resplendent, without the slightest imperfection and shining like the purest gold.

The sword has a decorative blue, gilded hilt, as well as rubies inlaid on the crossguard and on the blade, in the fuller is covered with gold with an inscription, which no one could understand.

A weapon in appearance and power alone was worthy for the true king.

The weapon advances towards Naruko, as the chains imprisoning it begin to tremble at the immense magical power nearby before shattering into dust.

"Caliburn!" Naruko murmured in amazement, recognizing the weapon that allowed Artoria to become king of Britain.

She didn't know how she could be here, let alone repaired, after Artoria's half-sister destroyed it?

But that didn't matter to the former kunoichi, for some reason, perhaps coming from the orb, she knew that this weapon was for her.

She grabbed the handle and felt an immense power invade her whole body, while a light surrounded her, like for her grimoire.

"What the hell is this! Who are you anyway!" Revchi yelled as his body began to unconsciously recoil backwards.

He notices the boy without magic looking at him while raising his weapon and Revchi immediately realizes he was going to attack him.

"A scumbag with no magic power, that's what you are!" The former mage knight yelled as he summoned several magic chains, directing them all straight towards Asta.

With a simple movement, Asta swings his sword and without even touching, the chains disappear.

"He dispelled my magic?!" Revchi shouted in disbelief.

Clenching all his muscles, Asta rushes towards the thief at a speed far above that of a normal human, much to the surprise of Revchi, Robert, and Chris.

"I will become a Mage Emperor, even without magic power! My determination, which is my magic!" Asta exclaimed before swinging his sword at the thief.

The attack was so powerful that it propelled Revchi to the top of the wall, who lost consciousness on impact.

"I figured that without magic, I'd have to rely on my muscles! It'll pay off in the end!" Asta said, panting with exhaustion, but managed to stay standing.

"He defeated a former Mage Knight!" Robert said in disbelief.

"Quick, let's get out of here!" Chris says, as he turns to run away, followed closely by his comrade.

Only for them to be blocked by the blonde girl, holding her sword in both hands.

"Where do you think you're going!" Naruko said, standing at the exit of the path.

"Let go of us! We have nothing to do with you!" Robert said quickly, not wanting to confront the girl.

If the two commoner mages had power that far surpassed his and his comrade's combined, he didn't want to take his chances against her.

Naruko laughed at the blond boy's words. "What bullshit! First you attacked Yuno without provocation, then you teamed up with a criminal to rob us! I don't know the rules of this country too well, but I'm sure you'll share a cell with that guy!"

"Not if we get rid of you first!" Robert shouted before casting a fire spell towards Naruko, followed by Chris, who cast an earth spell.

But before either spell can touch her, they hit a golden barrier, causing them to disappear a moment later.

"What? She can dispel magic too?!" Chris exclaimed in panic.

"No, your magic is so weak compared to Naruko's, that her mere presence was enough to dispel your spells." Yuno explained calmly, having understood what had happened.

Naruko raised her sword, and a column of golden light shot out from around her, rising up to the sky.

The next moment she lowers her sword and screams. " EXCALIBUR!"

The movement creates a huge blast of golden energy, which rushes towards the two boys, too panicked and terrified to react.

But due to Naruko's newfound power and lack of experience wielding a sword, she misses the boys' heads by millimeters, destroying the top of the gate behind them, leaving nothing of the top, as if it had never existed.

*Oops, I didn't expect to do so much damage with a single attack! Good thing I missed them! * Naruko thought, surprised to have so much power.

"Hmph, at least this toothpick isn't just for decoration!" Kurama said, admitting that it was impressive for a human, but still weak compared to his Bijû-Dama.

The two boys stand there frozen, too shocked by what they just saw, but after a few seconds they end up passing out.

"Pathetic and they wanted to become Mage Knights." The fox mocked.

"Look at this, Naruko and Yuno! I have my own grimoire! It's all old and dirty, but I'll cherish it until I die!" Asta exclaimed happily before caressing his grimoire against his cheek, completely ignoring the five-leaf clover on the cover.

"Asta. You saved me again, just like you did that day! Do you remember that time and our promise?" Yuno asked, walking towards his rival and adopted brother.

The day Asta had managed to get his medallion back from a drunkard. The boy without magic had no chance against an adult, but he had insisted and endured the thief's blows, until he finally stopped and left in his misery. When Yuno had asked Asta why he had taken the blows to get his medallion back, the latter had told him that it was his duty as the future Mage Emperor to protect the people he cared about, no matter the danger.

That day, Yuno made a vow to do everything to become Emperor-Mage.

"I thought you forgot." Asta said before the two of them punched each other, symbolizing their friendship.

"We'll see, who will become the next Mage Emperor!" The two rivals and brothers said simultaneously.

"Sniff… it's beautiful…" Naruko said, who couldn't help but let out tears of happiness upon seeing such a scene.

Even after everything she has been through, she still retains her sensitivity and empathy.

"Oh yeah! Naruko, you have a grimoire too! Since when?! Can I see it?!" Asta exclaimed, remembering seeing his new comrade using a grimoire, as his eyes glowed.

Naruko was slightly taken aback by the smaller boy's questions but answered. "For your first question, after everyone has received theirs and for the second, yes you can take it." The former kunoichi finished as she handed her grimoire to Asta after her sword was returned to the book.

"Ooooh, so cool! There's a crown instead of a clover!" Asta exclaimed, amazed by the appearance of Naruko's grimoire.

"I've never heard of a grimoire that has a crown instead of a clover. Do you know why it's different?" Yuno asked, looking at Naruko.

"I have an idea, but it will be too complicated to explain." Naruko said, not knowing how to say that it is probably due to the orb of a former knight that she received due to an experiment by a ninja deserter.

Wow, there was definitely no need to be more specific...

Before Yuno asked him to explain, they heard Father Orsi's voice.

"ASTA, YUNO AND NARUKO!" Father Orsi shouted with tears in his eyes, followed closely by Lily, Drouot and a few soldiers.

"FATHER ORSI AND SISTER LILY, LOOK I HAVE MY OWN GRIMOIRE!" Asta yelled as he showed his grimoire, surprising the three adults.

"WHAT!? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!" Orsi asked, still shouting.

"I DON'T KNOW! BUT NOW I CAN BECOME A MAGE KNIGHT!"

"Argh, I guess I should explain!" Naruko growled, certain that if they kept yelling, she would go deaf.

The former kunoichi began to recount the events from when she found Yuno, until she and Asta defeated the three attackers, with Yuno helping her with the details.

At the end of the explanations, saying that the three adults were shocked was an understatement.

"Asta can use magic!" Lily said in wonder.

"I wouldn't really say magic, because even when his grimoire opened, there was no source of energy. I would rather say that it is Anti-Magic." Naruko said, since she had inherited her father's ability to sense chakra, which converted into magic.

"Anti-Magic?" Orsi repeated, finding the idea of magic that cancels out other strange magic.

"And what about yours, young lady? You seem to possess the same spells, but you have magic?" Drouot asked, looking at Naruko's grimoire in his hands, after the latter had passed it to him at his request.

"I don't know. Our type is similar, but nature is different." Naruko replied, since even though both can make weapons appear, her magic is offensive and Asta's cancels magic.

The tower master nodded before handing the grimoire to Naruko. Meanwhile, Father Orsi and Asta walked away from the group.

"What do you want to tell me, Father Orsi?" the boy without magic asked curiously, not understanding why the adult monk was pulling him away from the group.

"I want to tell you… I'm sorry… sorry for not supporting you when you said you wanted to become a Mage Emperor or even for anything else, while I only supported Yuno. I didn't realize how hard it must be for you every day to see others using magic and not you." Orsi apologized, lowering his head in shame.

Asta's eyes widen in surprise as he hears Father Orsi apologize. As far as he can remember, he's never done it before.

After a moment of silence, the young boy finally answered. "You don't have to apologize father Asta, I've been through much worse and even if you didn't support me, you still gave me a bed, food, clothes and most importantly brothers and sisters. So, thank you for everything you've done for me." He said with his optimistic attitude.

"You really are a good person Asta, much better than me." Orsi said as tears began to escape his eyes, seeing that even after what the young boy had been through, he still managed to keep smiling.

After a while, he continued, "I promise that this time I will support you in your dream to become a Mage Emperor and be the father figure you deserve."

Meanwhile, Yuno who had been listening to the conversation couldn't help but smile. Even though it was far from a normal person to hear, he had manipulated the wind to move the sound towards him and it was as if he was listening in front of them.

"You know it's not good to spy." Naruko said as she approached the wind mage.

"How do you know I was listening?" Yuno asked curiously.

"You didn't move while they were talking and when they finished, you smiled. Also, given your talent for wind, I understood that you had moved the sound." Naruko said, since it was one of the basics that one had to have to become a ninja.

Although she didn't spend much time at the academy and the teachers didn't teach her much, thanks to Artoria's memory and her abilities, she was able to improve her memory and analytical skills.

"You are also gifted to have discovered." Praised the wind mage.

Naruko shrugged. "I wouldn't say that it's just that I have a good intuition."

"What are you planning to do? Now that you have a grimoire too, are you going to become a mage knight?"

"I don't know. I'm still thinking about what to do in this kingdom." Naruko replied, since you needed a grimoire to become a Mage Knight and before having hers, she hadn't thought about becoming one.

"Maybe you should follow me and Asta to become a mage knight? From what I've seen, you have what it takes to become one." Yuno suggested, thinking that Naruko would be ideal in the role.

Also, like the others, he enjoyed her company.

"Be careful, it might seem like you want me to become Mage-Empress instead of you." The former kunoichi teased with a mischievous smile, which made the young mage smile.

"There is no chance, because it will be me who will become."

*He may look like Sasuke, but he has a good heart and cares for Asta. He sees him as a rival, but also as a brother. *Naruko thought with joy, but also a little jealousy, due to Asta and Yuno's relationship.

Even though Naruko considered Sasuke as a brother and a rival, he only saw her as a nuisance to be removed in order to achieve his goal. She had realized at the end of her fight in the Valley of the End.

In truth, she could have defeated Sasuke at that moment, but because he was her teammate and friend, she had tried to neutralize him, while the teme wanted to kill her.

When they had launched their last attacks, she had touched Sasuke's headband, not stooping to kill one of his comrades and friends and she had thought he would do the same.

But she had made a mistake. Sasuke had not hesitated for a single second to pierce her heart and the only reason she is still alive is because she was actually dead for a few minutes before Kyûbi managed to make her heartbeat again before it was too late.

This event made Naruko realize that she and Sasuke were never rivals or friends, much less brothers. They were at best comrades who had to work as a team to succeed in their missions.

If she ever crosses paths with the Teme again, she won't hesitate to kill him.

She then looks at Yuno, then Orsi and Asta, who were coming towards them, with the grey-haired boy wearing a big smile. Even though she was a stranger, they didn't hesitate for a second to welcome her into the orphanage and consider her a member of their family.

Besides, she found the idea of becoming a knight, like Artoria once was, amusing.

It was a new life for her, away from persecution and lies. She could give meaning to her life and protect people who truly deserve it.

"Alright, I'll follow you." Naruko replied with a determined and hopeful look in her eyes.

Chapter 2: End

A new chapter completed.

Naruko searches for Asta and Yuno to talk to them for different reasons, until she finds the latter, who is attacked by two nobles, jealous of Yuno's success. Revchi, a former mage knight turned thief, neutralizes the nobles as well as Yuno, to steal the latter's grimoire, but Naruko intervenes to save Yuno, followed closely by Asta.

After a few words and mockery, Asta tries to attack Revchi, but the boy without magic is captured by the thief's chains. However Naruko manages to put Revchi in difficulty, until the latter frees the two nobles, offering them to help him in exchange for a share of the money he will have with the grimoire of Yuno and Naruko, as well as helping them to become knight-mages (although in truth he lies).

But even with the help of the two nobles, Naruko still has the advantage, until Revchi injures Asta, which distracts Naruko, who is attacked and captured.

As Asta proclaims that he will become the Mage Emperor, Revchi and the two nobles mock him, causing Asta to lose his spirit and be on the verge of despair, until Yuno says that he will be the Mage Emperor, but that Asta is his rival. With her words, Asta regains his confidence and summons his grimoire.

At the same time, Naruko's also opens, releasing Caliburn and the two of them respectively get rid of Revchi and the two nobles (Naruko had missed her attack, but the two attackers fainted upon seeing the power of the attack and their imminent deaths).

Father Orsi, Lily and the master of the Drouot tower arrive shortly, and the three teenagers explain what happened. Orsi then has a private discussion with Asta, who apologizes for not encouraging him in his efforts and for not being a good father figure, which Asta forgave him and even thanks him for welcoming him into the orphanage and giving him brothers and sisters. Orsi promises to encourage him from now on and to be a better father to him.

Meanwhile, Yuno asks Naruko if she wants to become a Mage Knight, to which she replies that she doesn't know, before remembering that Artoria was also a knight and that Naruko found the idea of becoming one amusing before finally accepting.
