Lux sails passed the structure as they continue on their journey. As they venture through the terrain, they find that the whole place is surrounded by snow. When they come across the frozen waters, they try to go around but then the entire passage is unexpectedly covered in ice like magic. The ice became so thick that it trapped Lux in one place. "Bloody Hell!" Lucifer expressed frustration and anger. He goes towards the main deck of the ship and announces an order to the demons. "Everyone! Get down there and clear a pathway! We need to get going!" Lucifer turns to find Maze in her current outfit which is not up to standard for this condition. "Uh, Maze! Get changed before you poke someone's eye out." As Lucifer walks off, Maze does smile at the idea but Lucifer immediately turns down that idea on Maze which makes her mad. Everyone gets changed into much-needed outfits to survive the freezing territory and work a way to get back on track.
As the demons work on the ice with some working around the ship while the others create a pathway, Lucifer along with Amenadiel and Chloe stay on board to check with the boat to see if the weather has affected the ship. One of the demons said "Well if someone mentions that 'Hell freezes over' this is the kind of torture that they're gonna get" This is true considering that the longer the crew stay here, the more likely that they'll freeze to death. "Well, Detective, is this what you meant by Hell freezing over?" Lucifer expressed towards Chloe who rolled her eyes in response to that statement. And then, she wonders about the snow. "How does it get even colder this fast?" While Lucifer doesn't complain as in a world containing celestials, we wouldn't question random things like this. But if something makes the weather as cold as it is, there must be something or someone making the condition worse. As Lucifer was about to speak, there was a sound coming from the distance. It sounds like a gust of a wind but it's not a sound that anyone could recognise. It's like a howl or crow but whatever it is, it's loud, deep and alarming. As Lucifer, Chloe and the crew look towards where the sound is coming from, they see a snowstorm but if look closely, how snow was formed in the air is not natural. As the storm-like being went behind one of the structures, the crew stopped moving as they were waiting for what could happen next. Another call occurred which made the crew get more intense with anticipation. Everything has gone quiet for a minute or two and then BANG! The creature came out of nowhere and started going after the crew. After it misses one of the members, it goes around and it appears that it planning on who it's going for next. At least they can see what they are up against. The creature looks like a great giant bird and it appears to be generating snow from its wings which makes the environment colder as it roams around. Amenadiel calls out, "It's a Roc!" Lucifer calls out to the crew "Everyone stand your ground and protect the ship!" The demons got out their blades and made their way to the ship to protect it and get a better advantage point against the Roc. As the Roc flies around, it does appear to have the entire ship surrounded. As it flies, it goes out towards one of the demons which is Belios. He lands a swing at the beast but the Roc dodges and instead goes for the ice that was under his feet, causing Belios to fall into the icy water below while the Roc flies in to prepare for the next attack. Luckily Chloe noticed Belios' situation and offered a rope to help him out. While all that is going on, Lucifer notices how the Roc is not attacking anyone severely but only making the crew weaker and weaker while searching for something. And then, he sees that it looks in one particular direction and makes a quick dash. As Lucifer sees where it's heading, it's going towards Chloe as she works on helping Belios out. "Detective! Watch out!" Chloe managed to hear Lucifer's warning and turned to find the Roc flying towards her with its talons reaching out towards her. She tries to get away but it catches her and starts to fly her away. Lucifer rushes out and manages to grab her hand but the Roc's strong wings had also managed to get Lucifer off his feet. He tries to stay near the ship as much as he can but their hands slip from the grip and all Lucifer can do is to see Chloe being carried away from the mystical beast. Lucifer wastes no time and gets some things for the rescue mission. "Hold on, Brother!" Amenadiel rushes out to Lucifer's side while Lucifer franticly gets some things sorted. "This is one big bird up there. You need the whole crew …" Lucifer doesn't stop however and doesn't look like he's listening to what Amenadiel is trying to say. Instead, he carries on with his agenda.
Chloe can't do anything except hold on to the Roc's talons as it carries her to its home. It's located at the very top inside a giant cave and once the creature made it there, it dropped Chloe harshly to the hard surface below her. She had a look to get an idea of what she found herself in and it's not very pleasant to say in the least. There are a lot of skeletons, stranded bones with some armour, clothes and shields. It must be some unlucky travellers who came across this place. Chloe wastes no time to find a solution and she turns to see that the Roc is looking right at her. Chloe quickly looked for a way to defend herself by grabbing a shield and just as the Roc about to land on her with its talons again, Chloe threw a shield at it's temporarily blinding it. While Roc tries to recover from the blow, Chloe lays down her coat on top of some bones and goes to find somewhere else to hide. As Chloe checks what's happening, she sees that the distraction does work but only for a short while as once it is figured out, it starts to look around. Chloe can see that it won't stop until it finds her again. She thinks to herself that she needs to find a way to get out of its cave but she needs a plan. What she can do is to keep evading and try to avoid any attention to herself as possible because she can see that the Roc is smart and any wrong move to alarm the creature and capture her.
Lucifer is nearly ready to go and find Chloe. As he makes the final preparations, he announces some orders to the crew. "Demons! You keep on working on the ice and make sure the Lux doesn't freeze in place! We need to be ready to get out of here once we get our detective back!" "Yes, my lord!" Demons responded and Lucifer went toward Maze who was curious about why he was getting too close. "Lucifer, what are you doing?" "I just need something from you" Lucifer got close and before she could react, Lucifer grabbed Maze's demon blades and rushed off to another part of the ship. "Lucifer! Give those back!" "Can't make any promises but in the meantime, get back to work!" Lucifer keeps running until he reaches the cannon to launch himself as high as he can while the crew sees their captain going off into the air. But that launch managed to get him so far as he landed some feet away from where Roc and Chloe were located. Before he reached land, he pulled out the demon blades and latched himself onto the edge of the cliff. While he holds on tight and recovers from that landing (lucky that he won't suffer much from the impact due to his supernatural healing), he looks around and sees how far he has to go and starts to climb. With each blade, he goes towards the nearest ledge before something terrible like an avalanche could send him back down to the bottom. While climbing, he thinks to himself about how Chloe is doing right about now. Either hiding or finding a way to escape. Chloe is a smart woman so she would find a way but Lucifer is not going to let that giant bird do anything to the detective. He takes one look around and he sees that there is a ledge where he can gather his strength for the Roc. He puts the demon blades to his side, runs out and he sees a giant cave and ventures himself. Without drawing any attention to himself, he had a look around to get any clue as to where Chloe might be. Coming from one part of the cave, Lucifer can see the Roc going around the bones and it appears that it's searching by grabbing things out of the way and using its talons to scoop objects away. As he watches the Roc, it must mean that it's looking for Chloe otherwise it would fly out and deal with the crew. As Lucifer looks around, he catches a glimpse of Chloe hiding behind some rocks so he makes his way to Chloe's side.
From Chloe's point of view, she has been moving from place to place while evading the Roc as it's on the hunt after her. She developed a strategy that when it appears to be invested into a certain area, that's when she's free to move to a different spot. She would make a noise to lead the giant bird away but she has noticed that it can't easily be fooled and one false move can lead to her downfall. Suddenly, she felt something grabbed her and dragged her while covering her mouth so that she doesn't scream. That sudden move did start Chloe a little bit but when she saw that it was Lucifer, she relaxed which indicates to Lucifer to lower his hand away from her mouth. "You came to rescue me? Chloe whispered and Lucifer responded quietly "Of course, you save me and the crew from some singing fish, I save you from a giant bird, then we're even." As Lucifer and Chloe go from cover to cover as they avoid the Roc, they discuss how they can escape. As things seem getting frustrating, Lucifer mutters to himself "No, no, no, no. This is not how it goes down. Not by a long shot Dad!" Chloe keeps her cool and tries to find some solutions while Lucifer does the same. Except one loud noise occurred out of nowhere and it drew the Roc's attention towards the duo. With the Roc distracted, Chloe expressed "Lucifer if you have any ideas, … now's the time" Lucifer smiles as he likes it when someone has faith in him, especially since not many people do. He does get an idea which is to confront the Roc while Chloe can make her way out. Chloe disagrees with the idea that Lucifer reminds her that he is immortal and nothing can't hurt him. Lucifer marches towards the gigantic bird and announces "Hey you big feather jerk! You like humans, huh? Get the taste of the devil right here!" With Roc focusing on Lucifer, Chloe finds the right opportunity to run toward the exit. However, Roc notices and Lucifer uses Maze's demon blade to cut Roc's leg, It causes great pain to the creature as it feels and Lucifer does another stab at one of its wings to prevent it from flying. Lucifer rushes out towards Chloe but not before Roc attempts to reach out to Lucifer which causes a cut on his side. While it does hurt Lucifer a bit, he keeps on running until he makes it to her side. As the duo continue to run from the giant creature, they need to make a plan to get back down. Lucifer grabbed one of the shields from the floor, grabbed Chloe and they both slid down the hilltop while on the shield like a sled. However, it's not long until they spot the Roc coming their way. Although it can't fly as well as before, it would use the environment to bounce around while trying to get the duo. As Chloe holds on to Lucifer, he finds a small opening where the Roc can't get in. Once inside, Lucifer doesn't stop as he figures that the giant bird will find a way to get to them. Lucifer and Chloe ride the shield through the unknown cave and they can hear in the background a big collision from the Roc who managed to enter. Even though the cave is not big enough for the Roc, it ends up chasing the duo by crawling instead of flying while using the wings as a boost. Lucifer then noticed an exit among the stalagmites so he clutched the demon blade into the ground to make a sharp turn and make sure that Chloe held on to him as tightly as she could. It took a huge amount of energy and restraint but Lucifer managed to get the right direction. The Roc followed pursuit but by going through the stalagmites, it caused the cave to collapse. The ceiling ended up falling on the Roc, killing it completely. For Lucifer and Chloe, they manage to get out of the cave just in time and they end up falling with Lux directly underneath them. Lucifer grabbed Chloe and used his being to shield her from the fall.
Lucifer and Chloe landed on the ship and survived. Lucifer was hurt from the chase and the fall but his first concern was Chloe. "That was thrilling, are you ok?" Chloe nodded but she noticed that Lucifer was bleeding. Lucifer then noticed too and he was stumped as her because he doesn't bleed like this. Before they can investigate, they are surrounded by the crew who are happy to see that they are ok. Lucifer lets Chloe go with the demons because they are simply checking with her and they are being on a good behaviour at this point. He also gives the blades back to Maze before he forgets. Lucifer then watches and smiles to see that Chloe is safe again. Then, the whole crew was startled by the rocks that were falling from the cave that Lucifer and Chloe had come from. The rocks collided with some of the structures which then fell into the water. It broke the ice and Lux is free to sail. The whole crew cheered as they could carry on the mission and get out of this frozen place. Lucifer walks to the quarterdeck and Chloe has glimpses of where Lucifer is going. She smiles warmly. She was about to join him but she figured that she would let him rest after that whole chase. Lucifer reaches the part of the quarterback where the crew can't see and he checks his wound. He sees that he really was bleeding but it doesn't normally bleed this much. He continues to check around to see if there is any more damage. That's when he noticed another weird thing: a feather. Not just any feather but a large white feather and he recognised it as it came from one of his angel wings. Lucifer is left stumped about what is happening to him and what it could mean.
