Dr. Stephan Strange, Sorcerer Supreme, was a comic book character. The transformation spell had mentally made Xander Harris into Stephan Strange and also created a magical core to allow him to use the knowledge and power of the Sorcerer Supreme.
"The language of the Mystic Arts is as old as civilization. The sorcerers of antiquity called the use of this language 'spells,' but if that word offends your modern sensibilities, you can call it a program; the source code that shapes reality. We harness energy drawn from other dimensions of the Multiverse to cast spells, to conjure shields and weapons, to make Magic." Xander remembered reading that, the Ancient One's explanation of Magic to Stephan Strange. It was the same as what was called Magic in the world he lived in.
And in this world, Xander had read many of the books Giles kept in the Library while they'd researched demons and he knew of one demon, a very rare one, that had what he needed to save his oldest friend's life. As he levitated along carrying Willow's body and following a sense that drew him like a moth to a flame, Xander swore he'd save her. He settled in front of the door to the magically created Sanctum Sanctorum and teleported inside.
He didn't have a lot of time, he knew that. Decades worth of the accumulated knowledge of one man had been crammed into his head and his mind was trying to accommodate it. It wouldn't be able to hold all of it, he couldn't and stay sane, but he also believed he'd keep some of it and probably could, over time, learn it all for himself. Right now though, he needed to combine the magically downloaded knowledge with the learned knowledge and use it to save Willow.
He walked through the mansion known as Sanctum Sanctorum and was awed at how detailed the Magic had enabled it to be. A perfect replica of a comic book hero's home, made real and solid and unlike the knowledge downloaded into his head, here to stay. Something he just instinctively knew.
His new home. He gently set Willow's body on a table in the Sanctum's Library and looked at the books. Giles would have a field day and they'd probably never get him out of this Library, but its contents, like the Sanctum Sanctorum, were Xander's responsibility now and he would safeguard them.
First he cast a protective spell, to keep Willow's body safe in case he couldn't destroy the demon fast enough and to preserve her body so it didn't begin to decay.
Than he established a containment circle and lastly, he summoned a Mohra demon, their blood was known as the Blood of Eternity and allowed them to regenerate from almost any wound. It could also be used to heal and regenerate other beings and even revive the dead. It's why they were so rare and nearly extinct as they'd been hunted for their blood.
Xander conjured an Eldritch Whip and snapped it at the crystal in the Mohra's forehead, killing it without regret and using a knife, cut into it. All he needed was a few drops of blood, he used the knife to cut Willow's arm and mingled the blood, praying it worked.
Across town, as Giles drove his decrepit old Citreon back toward the Library, he tried to calm the distraught ghost of Willow Rosenberg, assuring her that they would not give up trying to find a solution to her current state of being when she abruptly disappeared, nearly causing both a heart attack and an accident as Giles' surprise almost caused him to lose control of the car. He managed to regain control of both the car and himself and pulled over to mourn for the bright young woman killed by Ethan's reckless use of Magic.
In the Library of the Sanctum Sanctorum Willow Rosenberg took a breath of air into her lungs for the first time in nearly two hours, her life restored. The regenerative capabilities of the Mohra blood repairing even the damage that lack of oxygen for those two hours had done to her brain. She opened her eyes to see her oldest friend hovering anxiously over her. He grabbed her and held tight, shaking.
"It worked." She heard him whisper. "It worked, you're alive. Don't scare me like that again, Willow! I can't lose the only family I have left!"
"Whatever you did, I'm just glad to be alive." She clung just as tightly and then reluctantly drew back. "I was with Giles, he probably thinks I've moved on."
"Al right, let's head back to the Library. Let everyone know you're alright. Oh, guess what? My costume changed the world, he destroyed all the vampires and I think he might have drained the Hellmouth to do it." He grinned at the astonished look on Willow's face. "Well, except Deadboy who's now Aliveboy."
The two old friends stepped out into a brand new world.

A/N Merry Christmas everyone. Eldritch Whip is a spell Dr. Strange uses. A Mohra demon's blood made Angel human for a day on Angel, before he got the Oracles to rewind the day so he could go back to being a vampire.
He's staying human in this story. 😜
Should I expand this into a full length story or just leave it as is, a one off?
I've decided, once I finish the Shadows au stories I'll come back and expand this one, this was a fun one and I'd like to explore it further. 😄
