Xander arrived at school a little earlier then usual and went to find Ms. Calendar, hoping she'd be willing to be his 'Ancient One' and teach him Magic, a lot of the personal knowledge of Dr. Strange had already slipped away. Xander couldn't remember the name of his brother anymore or what medical school he'd attended, but a large amount of the spell knowledge still seemed intact and as he'd proven last night, he could still use the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto, which was tucked under his shirt right now, you never know when it might come in handy. He found her in her classroom, preparing for her day.

"Hey, Ms. Calendar, you got a minute?" He asked.

"Sure, come on in, there's something I need to talk to you about anyway."

"What about?" He asked, setting his bag next to a desk and taking a seat.

"You've been helping Buffy with patrolling and research into demons, right?"

"Yes, almost nightly."

"I thought so, you've fallen a little behind as a result. Not enough time for studying and rushing though your homework will cause that. I'd like to give you a chance to get caught up so I'm going to have a class on Saturdays for you and a couple other students that have fallen behind. Get your grade back where it usually is."

Xander groaned at the idea of Saturday classes, but Ms. Calendar was right, he had been rushing though his homework and not getting the best results because of it.

"Computers aren't exactly my thing anyway, but I do want to keep my grade point average up." Xander nodded. "Math really is the only subject I need any help in, usually anyway. But yeah, sure I'll be here."

"Good, I'll catch the others later, but if you see Cordelia or Buffy could you pass on the message that I need to talk to them?"

"Sure." Xander nodded. "Cordelia's been dealing with a few things lately herself, I can see why her mind wouldn't be on studying right now."

"Being kidnapped and nearly turned into a modern day Bride of Frankenstein will do that you." Ms. Calendar tried to smile, but it was definitely forced, too many people died in Sunnydale as it was, humans being killers on top of demons was even harder to deal with. "So what can I help you with, Xander?"

"Have you heard what happened last night?"

"I heard City Hall announced spiked Halloween candy caused hallucinations, what actually happened?"

"The owner of a costume shop worked a transformation spell involving Janus for his idea of a game and ended up creating more than he'd intended and Janus wouldn't loan him anymore power in the middle of the spell. The idiot ended up drawing power from the Hellmouth." Xander explained.

"It didn't open, did it?!" She exclaimed, well remembering back in May when the Master had briefly gotten it opened. She shivered in remembered fear battling that tentacled Guardian of the Hellmouth.

"No, it fact it may be permanently shut down because he didn't just need more power to complete his game, he turned me into my costume, a Magic using superhero who found that the spell had also created a spell from the comics that can destroy vampires and he cast it. The spell drew from the Hellmouth too. It wiped out all the vampires, worldwide, last night." He explained.

"You can't be serious!" Ms. Calendar stared at him. "A made up spell from a comic book did that?"

"The Magic system used in the comic book is the same as the one in the real world." He informed her. "You draw energy and use words to shape it, so yes, it worked. Angel's curse modified the spell for him and made him human, a fact he's trying to deal with right now."

Jenny Calendar looked and was surprised. "Angel's human?!" She focused on that part for now, wondering how her people would take the news, if the Elder Woman wasn't already aware of it, that is.

"Yeah, which makes a relationship between him and Buffy just legally a big no-no, not just morally and legally, but that part's Buffy's business." Xander shrugged, Buffy would probably just do what she was already doing, sneak around to see him. "But he's going to need a legal identity and I cast a spell of my own last night, well more than one since Willow died as a result of the spell and I summoned a Mohra demon for it's blood and revived her. But I also cast an Emancipation spell, to free myself and it's possible that includes legal emancipation, I was wondering if you could help me check into that?"

Jenny blinked at him and frowned, recalling a few comments he'd made that in retrospect might not have been tasteless jokes. "Do you want to be legally emancipated if the spell did make it happen?"

"Yes." Xander said firmly. "I'm not going back to my parents house, I can't. It's not a good place, Ms. Calendar and you don't have to worry because I have a safe place I can live."

"Xander -." She paused. "I'll help you look in to it, but I'm going to need more information so I can make sure it's the right call. Is that all you need me for?"

"No, I need you to help me learn Magic, some of what my character knew is staying with me and I need to understand it. I trust you to help me."

"Not Rupert?"

"I'm not sure he can be trusted. He's insisting on Buffy keeping secrets from her mother and he's never explained why the Watchers Council has control over Slayers. Plus there's Angel, did you know it was Angel who gave Giles the Pergamon Codex, with the prophecy about Buffy's death in it? And when Buffy went to face the Master, I found Angel in his apartment, no shoes on, reading a book. He claimed he was too scared to try to help her, but he certainly wasn't acting scared."

"And Buffy wouldn't believe you if you told her that." Jenny knew that was true, Buffy was completely enthralled by Angel and believed they were in love.

Xander nodded.

"I'll need to think about that and I'll need to evaluate what has stayed with you."

"Smart and cautious." Xander grinned. "Just like the Ancient One."

"The Ancient One?"

"The title of my character's teacher. She actually was ancient in addition to it being her title. You just are without being ancient." He flashed another grin and headed out to go to his first class.
