Back at the townhouse, everyone was doing their part to see what they could figure out. Frisco and Felicia had joined them, and Annie and Frisco especially were busy reaching out to their connections.

"You know JJ should be here by now." Jayne looked at her phone, worried about him.

"Give him a call, he might have gotten so busy he got lost in work." Annie suggested.

Jayne scrolled for his name in her phone and tapped it, waiting for an answer.

JJ was a mess, barely composing himself as he accepted the call. "Jayne." He tried to sound as he always did but he couldn't manage it.

"What's wrong?" Jayne was really worried now.

"I haven't got a chance to look into things...I'm sorry." JJ knew they were counting on him. "My dad's health took a turn for the worse. Gran and I had to come to Albany."

Jayne knew the bond that JJ and his father shared, she even got to see it when they were together before. "Is he okay?" She asked.

"No..." JJ broke down, he couldn't help it. He adored his dad, he was his best friend. "He's gone."

Jayne's heart shattered, tears fell down her face as she spoke. "Oh, JJ, I'm so sorry. Can I come be there for you and Rose?" She asked, she wanted more than anything for both of them to know they weren't alone.

"You don't have to." JJ replied, he didn't want her to feel like she needed to be there, even if he could use her company right now.

"I want to, I loved your father. I know I barely knew him but he was a kind, honorable man and he made you into the incredible man you are." Jayne was honest, not holding anything back. She knew that JJ was very much his father's son and she also knew hearing that was something he would want to hear.

JJ loved hearing that, making his dad proud was always do important to him. "I would like that. I'll text you the address. Thank you."

"You don't have to thank me. JJ, I...I will see you soon." Jayne hung up the phone and immediately made plans to go to Albany.
