Hadley's POV

I had barely stopped pacing while everyone around me was looking for Klaus and Rebekah but there was nothing I could do and that was the annoying part since Elijah was adamant on keeping Hayley and I in the compound where we were supposedly safe but I knew that was a lie given the fire at the plantation proved that we weren't safe from the witches, none of us were.

"Hayley!" I heard Elijah calling out meaning he was back and despite him not calling for me I made my way out of my room following the sound of his voice into the upstairs library and study seeing him with his shirt off and his body covered in what looked like tattooed names but I doubt Elijah had a single tattoo on his body meaning they weren't normally there especially since Marcel and Hayley standing around him.

"What's going on?" I asked announcing my presence.

"Sabine...Elijah what is this?" Hayley asked him after spotting Sabine's name on his right inner wrist.

"I believe they represent the names of the women that Celeste inhabited for the past two centuries" Elijah replied to her question making me roll my eyes, they could deny it all they want but clearly there was some feelings between them.

"It's called a devinette its old school kind of like a riddle, witches use them to teach their kids, solve it and it disappears.

"Why, what's the point?" I asked since this seemed like a waste of time and a sick game the witches were making us solve just to waste time.

"Celeste forced me to make a choice, between yourselves and my siblings and now she means to mock that choice, taunting me with a childish game" I sighed lowering my head since although Hayley and I would have died last night if it wasn't for Elijah, I wish it hadn't come at the expense of Rebekah and Klaus. "The longer the game the more they suffer, to find Klaus and Rebekah we need to solve this riddle the solution lies somewhere in these names" he stated holding up his arms.

"The name next to Sabine...Annie La Fleur, she's the witch that was shunned from her coven just over a year ago never knew why but I can find out"

Marcel and Elijah went to see someone that knew Annie to get answers while Hayley and I stayed back going through the list of names that she'd taken down of all the names covering Elijah's torso and I begun pacing again really leaving Hayley to the work as I was unable to sit still because sitting still meant allowing my mind to dream up macabre thoughts of the witches finding a way to kill Klaus and having to raise this baby alone, or even worse than that was them coming for me and our baby next without Klaus there to protect us.

"She killed herself?" Hayley's voice found its way to my ears making me stop and turn towards her seeing her on the phone.

"Yes, drowned herself in the Mississippi to be precise; Celeste was clearly tired of the body and ready to take Sabine's" Elijah's voice replied as Hayley put it on loudspeaker for us both to ear.

"How do you know that?" Hayley asked him and I nodded agreeing since that didn't sound connected to me.

"Because she leapt to her death from the very location Celeste and I had our first kiss.

"Poetic, I guess...in a creepy vendetta sort of way" I spoke up looking up sharing a look with Hayley.

"All these names, these lives stolen that Celeste might take her revenge, I suppose we have no choice but to see where they take us" Elijah replied. "Hayley I have to go, I'll call you back"

"Elijah, wait!" Hayley called out in hopes to stop him from hanging up.

"What is it?" he asked her.

"Ask Marcel if he knows anything about a name on that list Brynne Deveraux" I frowned confused looking up at her. "Sophie said that it was her family's bloodline that put the curse on the crescent wolves but Celeste said that she was the only one that could break it, if Brynne Deveraux was actually Celeste when she cast the spell, then maybe Celeste can still break it"

"I'll see what he knows"

"Elijah, I'm really sorry that you're going through this, if I had known that Celeste made you choose who to help-"

"You and Hadley were going to die in that fire along with my brother's child there was no choice" he says cutting her off before he hangs up and before either Hayley or I could say anything else.

"I hat waiting around like this" I scoffed standing up and went back to my mindless pacing.

"So what's going on with you and Klaus?" Hayley suddenly asked making me freeze in place as I turned towards her. "You guys seemed pretty cozy before we left for the plantation house yesterday" I frowned narrowing my eyes before I softened them.

"What's going on with you and Elijah?" I shot back and her face dropped into a frown.

"Nothings going on" she lied clear as day.

"Same goes for Klaus and I, he's the father of my child and that's it" I spat before I turned and left the room heading into Klaus's art room looking around at all his paintings before I made my way to the desk and picked up some paper seeing as my art book burned up in the fire last night and sat down beginning to draw to distract my mind but unfortunately it didn't last as I heard Elijah and Marcel return and quickly stood to find out what they'd found.

"Find anything about Clara, the mystery witch?" Marcel asked them as he walked into the library and I followed behind him.

"Not much, she was a nurse as the Fleur De Lis Sanatorium, recognize her?" Hayley asks as she clicks on a picture and points to a women. "Top row, second from the right"

"No, I don't" Elijah replies before he turns to Marcel. "Marcel?" Elijah asks him but Marcel isn't looking at the laptop making me frown. "Marcel, do I need to remind you that Niklaus and Rebekah are somewhere suffering horribly, if you know something talk" Elijah warns him as he walks towards him since his behavior clearly indicates that he knows something that he's not saying.

"The Sanatorium, that's where you'll find them" he states putting distance between him and Elijah which makes me more curious.

"Are you sure, how do you know?" I asked since I didn't want this to be a misdirection.

"I just know" he states making me narrow my eyes at him.

"How do you know?" Elijah asks him.

"If I'm right, you need to know exactly what we're walking into" Marcel replies. "We did something, Rebekah and I...I think the witches are trying to use it against her, it was uh...something that you're not gonna like" Marcel warned him and I could agree once he told him what they'd done, they'd brought their father to New Orleans in the 1919 to kill Klaus.

"For the better part of a century, I have wondered how father found us what foolish mistake that we had made to destroy our time in the one place that we could finally call home, did you know, I even blamed myself for a time Marcellus?" he spat angrily before he was suddenly gone and across the room with Marcel in a choke hold against the wall.

"Elijah!" Hayley yelled to curb his anger even though I reckon Marcel deserved it, he betrayed their trust...him and Rebekah brought the only man that Klaus truly feared to kill him and if I was Klaus I'd be furious and murderous.

"Niklaus treated you like a son" Elijah growled pushing against his throat more. "Rebekah-"

"I loved her, I still love her" Marcel insisted cutting Elijah off. "All we ever wanted was to be together but as long as Klaus was around, that was never gonna happen but hey I guess you wouldn't know anything about that, huh?" Marcel added before Elijah finally let him go.

"When Niklaus learns the truth there will be no end to his rage, I will not let my sister suffer that wrath"

"Then we need to get to them before he learns the truth" Marcel argues and they start to leave.

"Elijah!" I called out following them onto the balcony. "Let me come, I can help"

"This is out of the question" he argued making me glare as he continued to leave with Marcel following him.

"I can talk to Klaus, I might be able to calm him down if it's already too late and I wasn't really asking for your permission" I started walking out but suddenly felt myself get picked up and placed down in a storage room with the door shutting before I could even blink. "Hey!" I ran towards the door trying the handle but it wouldn't budge. "Elijah let me out, I can help!" I banged against the door but couldn't hear. "Let me out!" I slammed my fist on the door when it suddenly opened and I stumbled a little eyes widening when I looked up seeing Hayley. "Where are they?"

"Gone" she replied and I frowned immediately walking for the garage where my car was and started going through the cabinet which held all the keys. "What makes you think you can get through to Klaus?" she asked making me stop and turn to face her.

"I don't know if I can but I have to try"

"Your with him, aren't you?" she asked making me frown as I went back to searching for my keys but they weren't here, Elijah clearly was smarter than he looked.

"Yes and no" I sighed hanging my head as I placed a hand on my bump. "It's complicated okay but...I have to do this, now any chance you know where your original dick of a crush has hidden my car keys?" I asked her and she blushed shaking her head at me before she pulled a drawer open and reached right in behind it pulling out a set of keys and I smiled when I saw the wolf keychain hanging off it knowing straight away that they were mine. "Thanks, now are you with me?" I asked taking her hand holding it between us with the keys in our hands.

"Celeste is probably there and she's the only one to break the cure on my...our family so you can count me in" she smirked back making me scoff out a small laugh since who'd have seen this day coming where Hayley and I agree on something with a common goal.

"Just to be clear I'm still not 100% convinced Jackson is even my half-brother" I argued shaking my head as we moved towards my car getting in.

"What makes you so sure he isn't, you said it yourself that you were only 2 when you went to live with your father, how do you even know she died?" she asked me as I pulled out of the garage and started driving with her giving me directions to this sanatorium.

"It's what I'd been told growing up"

"Whose to say your Dad didn't lie to you?" she asked making me look over at her while watching the road out of the corner of my eye.

"Because...because my Uncle would have told me if I still had family out there"

"Maybe he didn't know either, maybe it was between your mother and father to keep it a secret" she argued making my frown drop even more.

"What's this book Jackson mentioned?" I asked her.

"I left it in the bayou shack, after this we can go back and get it" I let out a sigh focusing back onto the road as I drove.

When we finally found the sanatorium I parked a couple meters down the road before we both got out and seemingly just in time as we saw Celeste still in Sabine's body walk out the front of the sanatorium so we snuck up behind her and Hayley quickly hits her over the head with a shovel from my car.

"Hey there, witch bitch" she remarked making me laugh as Celeste fell to the ground unconscious. "You and I are gonna have a little chat"

"Take my car, take her to the bayou get her to make the cure by any means necessary and I'll meet you out there as soon as I can" I told her looking up at the sanatorium.

"What do you even plan on doing, how do you plan on getting to Klaus?" she asked me.

"I have no idea but I have to at least try, for our baby's sake before they decide to put Klaus down where he'll never see our child and our daughter will never know her father" I argued looking back briefly before I ran up the steps and into the building although the moment I was inside I realized how big this place was.

I ran around helplessly trying to listen out for any signs of a fight, voices or a feeling but this place was proving to be as huge as it looked and by the time I finally thought I heard crashes and voices coming from a below basement area so I ran in that direction towards the stairs in which would lead me down but froze at the top when I heard what happened.

"You know, if you had offered me even a fraction of the same I wouldn't have to do this" I heard Klaus's voice before I moved closer and saw him lift a blade in the air about to stab Rebekah with it but Elijah intervenes and stabs it into Klaus' chest instead and I let out a gasp in shock.

"Go both of you, run as far and as fast as you can...run!" Elijah yelled towards Rebekah and Marcel who immediately stand and flash away away, leaving Elijah with a disabled Klaus in his arms and I knew I stood no chance again Elijah who would be adamant to keep Klaus detained until Rebekah and Marcel were far away so I quickly stood and backed up trying to be as quiet as I could so Elijah didn't hear me than ran from the building into the forest to hide just in case.

I spotted a car on the road down the hill so I ran for it tripping down the bank just a little and landed on my knees on the road right in front of the oncoming car hearing the tires screeching under the force of their fast break and stared into the headlights for a second, my breaths were coming out in short bursts still in shock over what I'd just seen Elijah do, since I never thought that he would take down Klaus like that.

"Hadley?!" my head snapped up as the drivers door opened and I saw Hayley getting out.

"Hayley-" I sighed never so happy to see her in my life as I stood hands running over my stomach to check for wounds luckily not coming across any blood.

"Oh my...are you okay, what happened?" she asked me.

"No time for that, we have to get out of here" I told her and ran the car jumping into the passenger seat. "Drive!" I told her and she wasted no time jumping on the gas as I looked into the back and saw Celeste still passed out cold in the back seat.

"What's going on, what happened?"

"Elijah got to Klaus before I did, I never even stood a chance to talk him down...he's on his own with Klaus's wrath now" I frowned looking out the side window. "Lets just you and I focus on getting the cure for the crescent curse out of this bitch before we kill her" I told her and she nodded driving us out to the bayou leaving the Mikaelson's to sort out their own mess.
