Hadley's POV

I had woken up to a shocking and downright unsettling sight as the moment I stepped out of my tent I was under the eyes of over a dozen or so wolves that I definitely didn't recognize from the Crescent Wolves and they definitely didn't smell local either and all their eyes were drawn to me the moment they saw me.

"Seriously what is going on, who are all these people?" I asked approaching the bayou shack seeing Hayley and Eve standing on the porch. "Why are they standing out there all weird and lurky?" I added taking the offered cup of coffee from Hayley's hands.

"They've come from all over, all the packs " Eve replied and my eyes raised in confusion.

"Why, to see a baby that isn't even born yet?" I huffed rolling my eyes.

"Forget the baby, these freaks they came here to see you" Ollie argued coming out of the shack. "You know given the place your mother held in the pack hierarchy maybe they think your gonna be the long lost werewolf messiah or something"

"Yeah no thanks" I scoffed since I never asked for any of that.

"No pressure or anything" Hayley adds right before Oliver's phone rings and he steps away to take it.

I couldn't move anywhere even though I avoided literally thirty or forty different pairs of eyes all watching me some never blinking it seemed like it and the crowd was continuously growing with each hour which was making me even more self-conscious and my mood only soured further when Elijah showed up.

"Your people are uniquely poised to set an example for the rest of the French Quarter, which is why it's important for the wolves to attend" he stated having invited us to some witchy event that the quarter witches were hosting.

"Thanks, but no thanks?" Hayley scoffed and I nodded agreeing with her.

"Let's hear the man out" Oliver protested.

"The witches are the ones that cursed your pack and they've been nothing but crap to me since I first came to town" I argued glaring at him before I turned to Elijah. "No, we're not going"

"It's a new day in the Quarter Hadley, I agree with Oliver if we're gonna coexist we have to play ball" Jackson argued back and I scoffed rolling my eyes at their blind faith as he turned to Elijah. "We'll send a representative with a gift" Elijah nodded his thanks before Hayley frowned turning and started walking away with Elijah chasing after her and I saw Jackson watching them go.

"You guys are idiots" I muttered shaking my head as I turned and started walking back towards my tent but frowned when I saw the multitude of wolves all waiting to continue to stare and gawk at me. "Great" I huffed and walked towards the shack going inside to get away from all the eyes soon joined by Hayley. "You don't honestly trust Elijah do you, that this treaty is gonna hold up and we owe these witches anything"

"Of course not, he says that we shouldn't be trusting Jackson"

"Well it's a good thing that I don't trust anybody but myself" I smirked towards her seeing her smile at my words with a slight roll of her eyes before I move to exit the shack with Hayley behind me as we walk out onto the porch seeing Jackson and Oliver, the latter hitting Jackson as he sees us and they immediately stop talking which makes me suspicious especially after what Hayley had just said.

"What is this, high school?" I asked them.

"Why don't you take the hint and mind your own business?" Oliver spits and I glare at him having enough of his shit so I step forward and grab him by the arm, spinning him around twisting his arm behind his back pinning him up against the wall, face-first.

"This is our pack, that makes it my business"

"No need to get all riled up, it's not good for you Hadley" Jackson quickly argued.

"I have tried to play nice-" I argued right back not letting up and twisted Oliver's arm tighter. "The last month of pregnancy is all hormones and mood swings, so unless you want me to snap your arm like a twig, I suggest that you tell me what is going on" I spit into his ear.

"You can go to hell" Oliver spits back.

"Knock it off, there's no reason to keep it from them" Jackson speaks up being the voice of reason, just like an Alpha.

"I can think of a reason, tall and immortal hybrid psychopath" Oliver hisses as he tries to fight against my grip but I forcefully pin him back down again. "Uhh!"

"Hadley, you're one of us you deserve to know" I glared behind me at him as he gives me the eyes that tell me to let Oliver go. "Now, go on" I scoff rolling my eyes as I reluctantly release Oliver and turn to Jackson for this explanation. "We made an alliance that's gonna change everything for the wolves"

"An alliance with who?" Hayley asks him and I frown having almost forgotten she was here.

"Klaus" Jackson replies and my eyes widen since why the hell would they side with Klaus.

"Tell us everything" I told him narrowing my eyes at them.

Oliver and Jackson told us about the deal that Jackson had made with Klaus at the treaty party as Klaus has promised the wolves a better chance, a chance to be above the other factions by some kind of object that he was gonna somehow get the wolves that would make it so we didn't have to turn on full moons, that we could control the shift like hybrids did and to be honest it sounded too good to be true which is why I had made it adamant that I was going to attend this stupid Feast of Blessings with Hayley since I didn't trust Klaus and even less so did I trust Hayley to go alone when she was blinded by Elijah.

Hayley and I arrived in the street beginning festival both in black dresses which had seemed fitting given our mood to not wanting to actually be here just in time to watch as Genevieve steps offstage and I glare at the bitch before I turn to watch the show as Monique steps forward first and creates a mild earthquake that rumbles the ground below us, then the next girl steps forward and raises her arms creating very strong winds that blow around the crowds of tourists before finally Davina steps forward then turns around and raises her palm to the fleur-de-lis sign behind her, which immediately ignites with fire and sets off dozens of fireworks, which makes the crowd cheer again.

It is then everyone of the supernatural side of this giving festival head towards a small compound entering through a gate one by one with Elijah being the front man seemingly welcoming everyone in and I couldn't help laughing a little as I couldn't help overhearing the colorful things in which Davina had to say to the pretend noble original vampire.

"Strange, I thought you'd be in the company of your colorful friends" Elijah said the moment Hayley and I stepped up next to go in after he and Genevieve had a word after she chased Davina off.

"Oh, you asked for a representative for the werewolves and you got two, so take us or leave us" Hayley bites back and I smiled for a second until Elijah smiles and holds out his arm, which Hayley reluctantly takes and I shook my head when he looked at me and stepped around them to walk in by myself and once inside all our heads look up as Genevieve clinks her glass with a knife.

"Welcome, as is our time-honored tradition you are all welcome to deliver your offerings it is our custom that no one should be turned away, no blessing be denied" she states and the guests line up to bring their offerings to the Harvest girls with the first being Hayley with our shared gift from the werewolves, she smiles at Davina and is about to give the gift to her but is stopped by an attendant who gestures for Hayley to give the gift to Monique and she reluctantly does followed by the next person who was a lady I recognized from the last party, she was leader of the human faction now and she gives their gift to Abigail continuing on with everyone else and I watch with a heavy glare as no one gives their gift to Davina especially as Davina's face falls and I see Genevieve smirking at the sight.

The gift giving continues with no one giving to Davina still and that smug little bitch Monique smirks over at her before Davina stands and runs off the stage in near tears and I take a step forward to slap that smug smirk off that little bitches face when I feel a hand grab my arm and turn seeing Elijah so I slap his hand away.

"Don't touch me" I growled out.

"It is not your place to interfere with witch business, Hadley" he reminded me but I only glared at him.

"It is my place to interfere with bullying little bitches" I spat narrowing my eyes even further at his look, like he had the right to actually tell me what to do.

"You would do well to remember the agreement in which the wolves agreed to by signing the treaty-"

"Hayley signed the treaty I didn't" I scoffed before I walked away since it wasn't worth it.

"Josh!" I heard Davina yell out and I turned seeing Klaus holding the poor boy by the back of his neck pulling him towards the main stairs, he was dressed in an all black suit that made him look devilishly handsome.

"Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention please, we are gathered here today to pay homage to our beloved witches but one very special witch has been utterly ignored" Klaus spoke up, his voice echoing through the room in his usual Klaus-like fashion. "That seems a little unfair to me" I smiled a little at his interruption since it seemed at least someone agreed with me that Davina was being ignored and everyone watched as he holds out a small box towards her as his offering.

"No, I don't want your gift" Davina immediately protested making my smile widen that she still held her grudge towards him.

"I understand why you would reject me given our past, in truth many of us here today have been wronged in the conflict which my brother's treaty ended, your friend Josh was involved in a plot to kill me it would be well within my right to execute him here and now but in the spirit of solidarity and for your favor Davina I hereby pardon him" Klaus announced before turning to Josh. "Josh from this day forward, you have nothing to fear from me...please" he says then hands Davina the box before he leaves the center of attention disappearing from view and I didn't want to intrude on their moment now that Josh was free from Klaus and left them but it seemed I didn't get far before I felt a hand on my arm and turned eyes going wide when I saw Klaus.

"What do you want?" I questioned since I was still angry at him.

"I hear you made quite an impression with the wolves" he said and my eyes narrowed. "My arrangement with them was supposed to be a secret and yet you forced it out of them, it's very bold as was your decision to represent them here today with Hayley, I trust you'll do nothing to harm our cause" I scoffed and rolled my eyes since what was with these Mikaelson brothers thinking they could tell me what to do.

"Are you really gonna go behind Elijah's back?" I asked since while I knew he was capable of it, he didn't exactly seem all that interested in being King of the Quarter anymore.

"Come on, what difference does it make to you as long as your people benefit?" he asked and I rolled my eyes doubting his sincerity in wanting to help the wolves.

"If I find out that you are playing some game, trying to manipulate us for one of your schemes-"

"You know, you've come a long way, little wolf" he spoke smirking as he cut me off and I raised my eyes at him. "I knew you were tough, I knew you were cunning but I never knew you were a queen" he smiled before walking away and I frowned following his back before I sighed and went to find Hayley figuring I'd had enough of this stupid party and that we should head back to the bayou but before I got too far the sound of drums suddenly sounded as a large group of drummers marches into the party down the stairs .

"Happy Fête des Bénédictions" the one in the front calls out. "We have a message for all of you from Marcel Gerard" I frown and look around for Hayley spotting her near Elijah before my eyes go back towards the drummers eyes going wide when they take out straight razors and slice their wrists open, bleeding all over the floor and the vampires in the room start to get antsy and vamp-out at the smell of blood.

"Control yourselves, this is a vulgar trick" Elijah yells out to them. "We do not violate our agreement" he adds right before the lights suddenly go out and the next thing I heard was the growls and screams from the vampires feeding on the drummers, as well as other humans at the party and I felt myself get pushed to the ground in the chaos so I placed my hands on my stomach to protect the baby as I cowered low on the ground trying to stay hidden as possible while the crowd dissolves into chaos before the lights are suddenly switched back on and I looked up seeing there are dozens of dead or injured humans lying on the ground.

"Elijah?" I hear Hayley yell while I look up and my eyes meet Klaus's in fear seeing him staring back with a mix of emotions on his face seemingly hesitating with himself on coming towards me.

"Hayley, it's okay it's all right" Elijah responds going over to Hayley picking her up. "Hadley" I turn my eyes from Klaus as they come over to me and help me sit up before all our eyes turn and see there was a message on the one of the walls 'THERE WILL BE NO PEACE' and it was written in blood, I turn back to where Klaus was but frown when I see that he was gone.

Hayley and I left returning to the bayou where we told Jackson what had happened given we both had bruises and cuts but mine healed thanks to the blood I shared with the baby and Hayley is pacing around outside by a fire as she talks to Jackson.

"I've learned my lesson, at first I was against your plan I thought that we should just live with Elijah's treaty but after that party, those innocent people...there will never be a peace" she stated and I scoffed since what did she expect, our three species would never get along, there was centuries of hate and that wasn't going to go away just because we wanted it to. "The weak will always be at the mercy of whoever is calling the shots"

"It's survival of the fittest, we need to protect ourselves" Jackson agreed speaking like a true wolf making me smile until he walked around the fire and stood beside Hayley. "And we we need to protect each other" my smile dropped into a frown for the reminder of feeling like the outsider here.

"We need to use Klaus' help while he's still willing to give it" Hayley insisted and I saw her eyes drift over to where I stood making my eyes narrow a little at her clear insinuation. "But, Jackson from now on you have to tell me everything and no matter what, we do not trust Klaus" she added once again looking at me with the last part.

Pretty soon I found myself on the outskirts of yet another gathering, listening to the music plays as the werewolves all hang out together outside around a bonfire but like always I was standing on the outskirts feeling like I didn't belong watching as Hayley was accepted, as she laughed and smiled with Jackson bonding with him and it did nothing to help me feel like I belonged here so I turned walking away from the party having enough of being the outsider and the pathetic one watching from the sidelines.

I don't know what possessed my destination but I felt lost in this place, I didn't have a place amongst the wolves and definitely didn't have a place in the city yet something was drawing me here and soon I found myself outside of the Abattoir looking up at the balcony of Klaus's room seeing the light on, after everything tonight I should have stayed away but he kept drawing me back when I should be running.

I saw a shadow move across the curtains and moved back into the shadows so that I wasn't seen knowing that it was unlikely that he was alone given the company he liked to keep with that witch but my frown grew when the shadow was brief and dropped my head only imagining what was going on in that room so I turned to walk away only to jump and let out a small squeal when I saw the shape of someone behind me before they covered my mouth and pushed me against the wall but what shocked me was how gently it had been done and that caused my eyes to focus in aided by the shift in light as we were now stood underneath a lamp post.

"Klaus" he smirked, his face three inches away from mine as he lowered his hand from my mouth. "What are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you that, not safe for you to be wandering the city alone you never know what's lurking in the shadows love" I looked up towards his room with a frown.

"You saw me, didn't you?" I questioned turning my eyes back towards him.

"Your not very stealthy" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Excuse you, I can be very stealth-" his lips were suddenly on mine and my eyes shot open in shock for a second before they unwilling shut as my lips instinctively moved back against his feeling his hands grip my waist as mine moved to his shoulders but I quickly regained my composure to realize what I was doing and pulled away.

"Why'd you do that?" I asked him looking down to avoid his eyes but he refused to let me do that and I felt his hand on my cheek to lift my face until my eyes unwillingly met his.

"Because-"

"Don't do that" I spat pushing him away and started walking away. "You don't get to say that when your sleeping with that witch!" I yelled over my shoulder at him but jumped when he was in front of me again. "Get out of my way"

"I'm not sleeping with Genevieve anymore"

"Oh I'm sorry and I'm what your sloppy seconds then" I spat glaring at him.

"Well technically she was my sloppy seconds love" he argued and I raised my left eyebrow in question at his train of thought. "I had slept with you before her"

"Your impossible" I scoffed shaking my head. "That doesn't make sleeping with that witch any better Klaus"

"Why do you care so much that I did?" he asked making me stop.

"I don't" I replied.

"Sure sounds like you do, it sounds like your jealous" I scoffed in his face.

"I have nothing to be jealous over some resurrected witch"

"Your right love, because she never held a candle to you" his knuckles brushed over the side of my face.

"Why because you care for me, because some miracle happened and I'm the mother of your child?" I asked taking a step closer towards him looking up into his eyes.

"I do care for you" he insisted.

"What does that even mean?" I asked him.

"What do you mean, what does it mean?" he asks back and I roll my eyes.

"Do you even know how to care about someone other than yourself because I sure as hell haven't seen it" I argued and he frowned stepping away from me.

"You're the one that came here Hadley"

"And I can see that was a mistake" I stated as I turned to leave again but didn't get far as I stopped letting out a sigh. "Whatever it means to you, I care about you too Klaus...bloody more than I should and we should try to get along for this baby's sake" I huffed before I continued on my way walking back out to the bayou since like it or not with Marcel still out there the bayou was the safest place right now.
