"Steve why do have to wear these top hats?" Carl asked as he gave is soon to be son-in-law an annoyed glare.
"Yeah we look ridiculous!" Eddie chimed in. "I mean you it's fine because you're Steve as for me and dad we look ridiculous."
"Because Laura said I can pick out any accessories with our tuxedos because it is my wedding day too. Plus I think all three of us look like distinguished gentlemen." Steve said with pride as he saw his own reflection in the full size mirror with Eddie and Carl standing beside him, then fixed his red tie.
"Yeah dorky distinguished gentlemen." 3J couldn't help but throw his own opinion in while Richie slightly chuckled as they played on their game boys before the wedding ceremony started.l as they hung in the grooms dressing room as Rachel, Estelle, and Harriet were both busy with Laura
Carl sighed and nodded as he patted Steve on the back in their white tuxedos and top hats. "You're right Steve it's your day too and if you and Laura are happy that's all that does matter. Right Eddie?" Giving his son the side eye.
Eddie gave in to, "Right Dad!" He said smiling back in the mirror. He was actually really happy for Steve and his sister. So the whole top hate with a bright purple tie was nothing really to complain about in the end. "Hey Steve let's get finished getting ready on our final touches as I am your best man and all and Dad can go check on Laura for you."
"That sounds like a plan to me!" Steve smiled ear to ear and only could imagine what Laura Lee Winslow would look like walking down that isle in less than half an hour.
Max, Laura's best friend and maid of honor, made a quick run through the church to make sure all the red roses and purple tulips were all in place and no Myra in sight. Thanks to Eddie and Carl having some of the police force there to help with security and have other small rolls in the wedding it seemed like the wedding was going to be off with a hitch. This was Steve and Laura's third attempt at this wedding due to Myra's schemes and now finally on May 15th, 1999 was their day. They had a church, a cake, and reception hall plus all the other bells and whistles. As Max made her way back she saw guest were starting to arrive. Rachel made her way out of the brides dressing room to join Greta to greet guest, and Max saw Carl walk towards her.
"So is my baby girl ready to go?" Carl said as Max noticed his eyes were already wet and tears were going to flow once he sees his daughter. Max took his arm and walked him towards where Laura was. "Mr. Winslow, you better keep it together because if you start crying Laure will start and trust me it took us forever for her to be happy with her makeup." Carl smiled and entered the room. He saw her reflection from her mirror as she sat at the vanity. Max walked away and went up to Laura and whispered something in her ear.
Harriet looked over at her husband and Carl could tell she was even trying not to cry. Max, Estelle, and Harriet walked near the exit and Harriet gave Carl a kiss and patted his arm. "Why don't you have a moment with your daughter before you walk her down the aisle. I'm going to take Mother Winslow and we are going to take our seats. See you in a few".
Laura turned and smiled so big at her dad, "Hey Daddy!" She said with excitement but her voice cracked. She could see her dad alga's tears in his eyes. "Hi Laura." He chocked out finally walking over and sat down next to his daughter. "You look so beautiful..." He said as he took her hands into his as they looked at each other. "We'll make sure if Steve faints when he first sees you, Eddie will catch him." They both chuckled but Carl could not get over how much his little girl looked so grown up today in her white wedding dress.
"Thanks Daddy. Are you going to be okay?" Laura asked as she spoke softly. Carl nodded repeatedly for a few seconds as he was afraid to say anything. Before Laura could say anything else there was a knock at the door, "Laura, Mr. Winslow, It's time!" Max informed them with a grin and excitement. "Okay baby girl let's get you married to most oddest, strangest man on this planet." Laura nudged her dad in disapproval but had a slight smirk. Carl retracted his statement, "Okay, okay, okay yes he is odd but he is also kind and thoughtful and he is going to treat you so good as they come."
"Thanks Daddy, that means a lot. I know he will because he has loved me for so many years and I don't think that will ever go away." Before they could say anymore Max rushed them to their spot before they opened the sanctuary doors. Rachel made sure her niece had her bouquet. She handed Max's her small bouquet and fixed Carl's tie. "Okay you three let me take some quick pictures and then I'll slip through the doors and wait for you to walk down the aisle to take more. And Laura?" Rachel sighed with some relief. "Yes?" Laura responded watching her aunt smooth out her dress a little bit more. "Next to Harriet, you are the most beautiful bride I've ever seen. Steve is going to fall in love with you all over again honey!" All four chuckled because they probably knew was true but Laura couldn't think that man could fall in love with her anymore.
Rachel took about ten pictures of Max and many more of Laura and Carl. Then as she slipped through the sanctuary doors, they suddenly heard the polka band strike up the music cuing Max it was her turn first. "See ya in there." Max said as she looked back at Laura with a wink. Two police officers opened the door for Max to walk through and quickly closed them so no one could see a peek at Laura. But she got a quick glance at her soon to be husband and he looked like he could faint any moment as Eddie was standing behind him just in case. Then she looked over at her dad and he was now finally letting the tears flow. Laura took a deep breath as she tried not to cry herself but not a moment sooner the doors opened slowly and the polka band began to play the wedding march and everyone in the pews all stood. Laura heard her dad and looked at him again wiping his tears, "Here we go baby girl..." As they took a step forward Laura could only beam from ear to ear as she finally saw Steve and he was so handsome. In less than fifteen minutes she was going to be officially Mrs. Steven Q. Urkel.
