A/N: I'll be putting English dialogue in italics just to differentiate it, since I don't know Japanese.

Arriving at the airport Aizawa can't help but curse his luck. Nezu had said the flight would arrive a few days before the term began. Day one is literally tomorrow. Given that Dusk would need time to settle in and recover from the jet lag, they'd be missing the first day at the very least.

Mic puts a hand on his arm to calm him, "It'll be alright Sho. I know flight delays are a pain in the ass, and they probably feel the same way, but we can work with this. Everything will be fine in the end."

Aizawa lets out a sigh, "I know, I know. I just wish they had more time to settle in and start to adjust before getting thrown in the deep end."

Shinso speaks up from the back seat, "Dad, you're worrying too much. Even if they miss one day it's not the end of the world. Besides, there's a possibility acting like someone's father before you've even met them will ruin your reputation.

Aizawa rolls his eyes at his son, "As if. Even if people somehow found out, all I have to do is get a few takedowns and any lost rep will be back before you know it."

Finding a parking space close to where they're supposed to meet Taylor, the three exit the vehicle and head into the airport. Moving to a decently open position, Mic eagerly holds up the sign he made that says 'Dusk Taylor Welcoming Party' in English.

Out of the crowd emerges a man who couldn't possibly look more like a government agent if he tried, Dusk trailing behind him with their luggage. Upon actually seeing the teen in person, Aizawa and Mic are met with the realization that Dusk is tall. As in, a good three or so inches taller than Aizawa tall.

Stopping only a few paces away, the agent greets the assembled family, "Greetings, I am Agent Reynolds. I've been put in charge of watching over Dusk until they've been handed off."

Reynolds stays for a moment longer, just to iron out some small details and give the Heroes his contact info before heading back into the airport, presumably to catch a flight back home.

With the man gone now, Dusk takes a moment to look the three over before speaking, "HI. I guess they already told you who I am, but they didn't really tell me anything about you guys. They just said I'd be staying with two Heroes and their son and left it at that."

Aizawa scowls, it was frustrating, but the AHAB was notorious for being tight-lipped, so it wasn't a surprise.

With a sigh, he begins to explain, "My name is Shota Aizawa, I'm an Underground Hero that uses the code-name Eraserhead. This is my husband Hizashi Yamada, AKA the Pro Hero Present Mic. Lastly, we have our son Hitoshi Shinso, who'll be in your class at UA. Both I and Hizashi are also teachers for your class, so you'll see us a lot throughout the school day."

Dusk nods, "Makes sense why I got put with you then. Alright, let's go. I feel like I'm about to die on my feet, and I'd prefer to do that in a bed."

Aizawa nods and gestures for Dusk to follow as the family heads back out to the car.

Arriving at the house, Dusk takes a moment to look over it, "Nice place ya got here."

Mic chuckles, "Just wait till you see the inside Listener. I'm sure you'll love it more!"

As the door opens, Dusk heads in, remembering to swap their shoes for slippers, and looks around. The room they're in looks pretty comfy, with some mismatched furniture placed in angles with a comfortable view of a TV. In the corner they see… Is that a cat tree? The gray furball that pokes its head out to see what the noise is about confirms it. These people are cat owners.

Aizawa turns to see Dusk reaching down for… hold on, is that a pet carrier? How had none of them noticed the teen had one? Dusk opens the door and out comes… another cat. Based on its size it could only be a Maine Coon, and even then it was still a large one.

The cat is mostly black, with splotches of gray occasionally popping up across its fur. As it turns around, Aizawa sees that is has heterochromia, with one green eye and one gold eye. Shinso, being a huge cat lover, immediately squats down and holds out his hand for the cat to sniff. The cat takes a moment to sniff before ramming its head against Shinso's hand, asking for pets. Shinso is all too happy to oblige.

Mic chuckles, "What's their name?"

Dusk chuckles, "His name is CORPSE, in all caps."

Mic blinks, "Why?"

CORPSE turns to Dusk and, in the deepest voice they've ever heard, says, "Dusk. I hunger."

Mic and Shinso freeze up, but Aizawa knows what this means, "He's a Quirked animal?"

Dusk nods, "Yeah, I've already submitted the paperwork for him to be a Hero Partner, and Nezu approved it, so I brought him along instead of sending him off with my siblings. He is my cat after all."

Aizawa nods, "You bring everything you need for him?"

Dusk nods, "Of course. Wouldn't be very fair to him if I left all his stuff at home."

Aizawa crouches down, "Are you alright sharing the house with four other cats CORPSE?"

The cat nods, "Yes. As long as Dusk is here I'll be fine."

Aizawa nods, "Good to hear."

Standing, Aizawa leads Dusk to their room so they and CORPSE can get settled in. Looking around, Dusk sees that the room is a bit plain, but it has all the basic necessities.

Aizawa turns to address them, "You won't have to attend school tomorrow, due to having only just arrived, but Nezu has expressed he'd like you to join us as soon as possible."

Dusk nods, "I should be fine after a day of rest. Personally, I can't wait to join you all."

There's just the barest hint of excitement in their voice, which concerns Aizawa a bit. Most teens would be more… open… about their excitement. But Dusk is blank faced and near monotone. He can only hope they'll open up more given time.

Taking a closer look at Dusk, Aizawa can notices that they've had their left eye closed the entire time. It's impressive they've done so well without depth perception, but Aizawa is still a bit worried.

Noticing Aizawa's gaze, Dusk realizes what he's thinking about, "Hm? Oh, you're wondering about my eye, right?"

After a nod of confirmation, Dusk opens their left eye showing that it's no different from their right, "Just an old habit from when I was younger. Here, gimme a sec."

Dusk pulls a pack of makeup wipes out of their pocket and wipes off the area around their eye, including their eyelid. When they're done, Aizawa can now see the large scar crossing over the eye that had been expertly hidden. Based on the look, it's from a slash wound.

Dusk chuckles, "I've been in theater for years now, so I've got a pretty good handle on how to hide things like this. If you're curious, one of my dad's old rivals figured out his identity back when no one knew his Civilian identity. After that, they tracked down his family and tried to have me assassinated. Unfortunately for them, he anticipated something like that and I was able to fend them off long enough for a Hero to arrive. After that, no one heard from that rival again."

Aizawa nods slowly. This does line up with some of what he knows about Apophis and his relationship with his family. It's nice to hear that he may have cared about them, at least a little bit.

Aizawa turns to go, "Alright, I won't bother you anymore. For now. Dinner should be ready soon."

Dusk nods, offering a small, "Thanks," as he goes. Taking a seat on their new bed, CORPSE shortly joining them, Dusk takes a moment to think about this new life. Maybe it won't be so bad.

A/N: Alright, chapter 2 down and we have a kitty. For those who heard the words "Hero Partner" and got worried for the kitty's safety, he'll be fine. CORPSE is actually stronger than a lot of the students, lol. Anyway, I'll be going now. See you around.
