The award-winning documentarian took a moment and adjusted the way she was sitting in her interview chair before she spoke up. Afterwards, she directed her attention to Chuck. "I'm sure you're aware, the fate of Lizzie Shafai will happen in two weeks. Are you," Bentley stopped and addressed the happily married couple. "The both of you worried the verdict might not be 100% solid?"
Chuck and Sarah were momentarily silent as they let Bentley's question sink in. It wasn't long before Sarah spoke up.
"We're not worried," Mr. Bartowski responded. "We've been assured by our attorney Justin, along with Hartley and Vivian the case against Lizzie will end up with her being convicted. All the evidence they have including her physically assaulting me in court should prove she should be locked away for a long time."
In response, Chuck nodded. "It's going to be a long two weeks." The nerd shook his head concerning Lizzie being sentenced. A few seconds later, he turned his attention to his wife who was seated next to him. "Fortunately, we have our honeymoon to look forward to after this whole ordeal," he further added, reaching over to hold his wife's hand.
"We deserve it, Babe." Sarah replied, softly smiling.
"Since Make-A-Wish is apparently paying for it," Bentley revealed. "Have the both of you mutually decided on going?" questioned the award-winning documentarian.
Bentley didn't have to wait long for Mr. and Mrs. Bartowski to answer. They simultaneously spoke up. "Costa Grava."
"I know it very well," responded Bentley.
"Vacation?" wondered Chuck.
Bentley shook her head. "Story. It was years ago." she started, waving her hand. "Long story short, there was a military coup, but it was thwarted. I covered the story when I worked as a journalist. Last I heard, the government continues to be stable and flourishing." she candidly shared, shrugging her shoulders. "Oh, make sure to check out the waterfall. From what I remember, it was absolutely breathtaking." Afterwards, she proceeded to peer down at her notecards. "Anyways…"
The moment Bentley peered down at her notecards, she missed how the married couple reacted and turned to each other with seemingly stunned expressions concerning the failed military coup years ago in Costa Grava. It was truly a humorous sight to see if anyone besides the cameraman noticed the way Chuck and Sarah reacted. In any case, a few moments later, Bentley continued the interview with another topic in mind.
According to Chief Beckman's executive personal assistant," she began.
"Scooter," Sarah chimed in, interrupting Bentley.
"Scooter," Bentley repeated, giving a polite nod. A slight look of annoyance was expressed on her face after being interrupted. Afterwards, she briefly peered down at her notecards before returning her attention to the married couple. More importantly, Chuck. "Your surprise wedding episode of Bash At The Bench was the most viewed and shared. Plus, it went viral and quite possibly made history." she shared, sounding impressed. "Your thoughts on what was considered a tremendously huge accomplishment, especially a YouTube channel with such a large following. You must be proud."
Chuck sat there for a moment and let Bentley's question mentally settle in before he responded. A few seconds later, he spoke up. "I am proud. It was an awesome history-making accomplishment but," The happily married nerd shook his head while smiling. "It's more about the support of the Bartowski Brigade than anything else," Chuck stopped mi-sentence. Afterwards, he briefly directed his attention to his wife who was sitting next to him. "Without them there wouldn't even be a Nerdy Nerfherder and Fuzzball YouTube channel or Bash At The Bench for that matter." he further added. "They're awesome. A truly passionate fanbase."
Sarah nodded in agreement with her husband. "That's one way to describe The Bartowski Brigade," she proudly retorted, expressing a soft smile. Afterwards, she shook her head in disbelief knowing an entire fanbase welcomed her with open arms instead of instantly being rejected.
"Speaking of describing," Bentley uttered, chiming in. She directed her focus on the 2 main individuals who ended up being the focus of the documentary. "I have two questions,"
"Fire away," responded Chuck. He briefly pointed and shot finger guns toward Bentley, which he quickly regretted.
Of course, Sarah softly chuckled and found what her husband did adorably amusing. Her attention Chuck inevitably turned towards Bentley. "We'll do our best to answer it." she stated, giving a slight nod.
"The first question is," Bentley briefly paused before she spoke up again. "How would you have described the last several months?"
After Chuck heard Bentley's question, he sat there for a moment and let it sink in. "Wow," he responded, shaking his head. "How would I have described the last several months?" the nerd softly repeated.
Bentley and Sarah sat there waiting for Chuck's response. As they were waiting, the interview switched to other interviews where Bentley asked the same question, which were answered.
"Emotional rollercoaster," answered Ellie, shaking her head. She was seated next to her husband who gave his answer.
"A measure of determination and endurance." Devon shared, briefly grinning.
After Devon gave his answer, the interview Bentley did with Mr. and Mrs. Woodcomb switched to the Chief Administrator of Westside Medical Center. Her hulking Head of Security seated next to her.
"Overcoming challenging odds." Beckman uttered. Afterwards, her attention directed to Casey who sat there with his arms crossed.
Instead of saying anything, Casey simply grunted. His nonresponse quickly switched to Detective Lau's response.
"Case closed." she answered, expressing a confident smile.
The short clip/interview of the veteran detective's response was quickly switched to Alex and Morgan's interview. They gave their responses a well.
"Whirlwind of insanity." Alex breathed out, recalling the past several months.
"Season 6 of Episode 13 of ER," Morgan suddenly blurted out. "Carter and Lucy got stabbed by mentally unstable patient." Of course, a look of disbelief was expressed towards him by both women. "What?"
A few seconds later, the short interview clip immediately switched to what the hospital's physical therapist answered with.
"In life," Hannah briefly paused before she resumed speaking. "The fight you go through is 50% physical and 50% mental. Don't give up the fight." she firmly shared.
Hannah's short interview clip switched to the hospital's attorney, Emmitt Milbarge. He was about to say something when it suddenly switched two individuals who the Bartowski's/Wood Combs considered practically family.
"Winston Churchill once said, "If you're going through hell, keep going." Hartley eloquently uttered.
"I think what my father was trying to say was," Vivian chimed in, briefly glancing at her father. "If the going gets tough, the tough get going." she deciphered. "I concur with him as well relating to what Chuck went through." Vivian further added.
At that point, the interview with Hartley and Vivian Winterbottom switched to Sarah's younger sister and mother.
"A kick in the nuts." Molly answered, shaking her head. "My sister's life changed and got better because of Chuck. If he wasn't around…"
"Thankfully he is," interjected Emma, cutting off her youngest daughter. "And now he's officially part of our family." she proudly added, talking about her son-in-law.
The interview switched from the Walker women to the man who not only was called in for back up by Sarah but partly helped in regaining his former Stanford roommate's sense of self.
"Friendship paid back and forward," Bryce stated.
After Bryce, a number of answers were given with other individuals Bentley interviewed ranging from Carina and Zondra to Jester. It wasn't long before Sarah appeared.
"A relationship tested by fire," the beautiful blonde shared. "And although it was difficult we were able to take the heat and make it through the other side." she positively added. Afterwards, the camera panned over from Sarah to Chuck.
"What she said," Chuck uttered. He pointed over to his wife who was sitting to his left.
In response, Bentley cracked a slight grin. It wasn't long before she directed her focus on the nerd himself.
"Finally," Bentley took a seemingly elongated pause before she continued speaking. "My second question to you Chuck," She briefly paused and took a deep breath before she resumed speaking. "Any last thoughts or parting wisdom you want to share to close out this documentary?" Bentley inquired.
Chuck sat there for a moment next to his wife and let the question Bentley asked sink in. "That's a good question." he softly breathed out.

"Well," Chuck started. "I learned and faced not only some hard lessons, but truths about myself over the last several months. One of those hard lessons I faced was admitting to myself that you can't do it all alone even if it's with the best of intentions for someone you love." he shared, shaking his head thinking back.
"And the hard truth?" Bentley inquired.
"It's okay to be scared," answered Chuck. "But what's not okay is staying silent about it. That's when I end up getting in my own head and bad decisions happen. Those bad decisions nearly cost me losing two people in my life. Hannah and most importantly," He paused and turned to the beautiful blonde sitting next to him. "My wife."
Sarah softly smiled in response. Afterwards, she reached over and placed her right hand on her husband's left knee. "It's because of that fear of losing me that you forgot the promise we made to each other. No secrets…"
"No lies." Chuck chimed in. After giving a nod, he pressed on. "I remember. It was stupid of me getting the gun in the first place and if the safety was actually off…"
Sarah immediately cut off Chuck. "Stop," she uttered, shaking her head. "Don't go down the road again because you know what happens when you do."
"I end up spiraling." the nerd replied. Afterwards, he took a deep breath and returned his attention to Bentley. "I think the reason I've been so protective of Sarah is because my sister and I lost our mom."
"Chuck," Sarah interjected, cutting off her husband. The concerned look on her face and the sound of it in her voice was very evident. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
Chuck nodded in response. "You need to hear this because it's something that's been weighing on me ever since you got attacked."
"Ok." Sarah softly responded.
After Chuck returned his attention to Bentley, the award-winning documentarian spoke directly to the nerdy business owner and YouTube host.
"For the viewers who are watching," Bentley softly conveyed, expressing her condolences. "What's your mother's name and when did your mother pass away?"
"Mary Bartowski," answered Chuck. "And she didn't pass away." he added, shaking his head
In response, Bentley expressed a puzzle look on her face. "You said you and Ellie lost your mother."
"Sorry about that," apologized Chuck. "She actually left us without any word or explanation," After the youngest Bartowski sibling shook his head, he resumed speaking. "It's the reason why Ellie, Devon and I celebrate Mother's Day on the day she left," he further explained. Chuck sat there silently for a moment before he spoke up again. "It's also the reason our father left us to go looking for her."
"Why mention her now?"
"I think the moment Sarah was attacked by Lizzie," Chuck took a momentary pause before he pressed forward. "It brought back feelings and emotions that I thought I came to grips with. Feelings and emotions that Ellie, my dad, and a very awesome therapist helped me sort through it all."
"And you thought the Lizzie attacking in court was your fault," uttered Sarah. "Hence the breakup conversation with Hartley and Vivian who thankfully talked you out of it." she furthered added.
Chuck shook his head. "As a kid, I felt the main reason she left was because I broke her charm bracelet. In some ways, I didn't want the same thing to happen to Sarah. I didn't want to end up being the reason for her blaming and resenting me for our relationship breaking apart just like my mom's charm bracelet." At that moment, he turned in his interview chair and faced Sarah. "That's why I was so hell bent on protecting you." he added, lowering his head.
In response, Sarah softly smiled. Afterwards, she reached over with her right hand and gently placed it underneath her husband's chin. The same right hand where the aforementioned charm bracelet was hanging around her wrist, which was given as a 30th birthday gift to her. The charm bracelet that once belonged to Mary Bartowski. "I understand." she softly uttered, lifting his head up to look at her.
"You do?" he softly replied.
Sarah nodded and leaned forward locking eyes with her husband. "You wanted to protect what's special to you," Afterwards, she showed her husband the charm bracelet she was wearing. "It connects your mom and I to you. You didn't want to lose that connection and in a subconscious way that's the reason why you wanted to keep me safe by breaking up with me."
After Chuck heard what Sarah shared, he sat there thinking about the charm bracelet connecting his mother to Sarah.
"I think you're right," nodded Chuck. His trademark toothy smile slowly expressed. "I was so focused on fixing things myself that I ended up making things worse."
"That's why you have me," Sarah pointed out. "And everyone else that loves and cares about you. Do you remember what your father told you and Ellie when a piece of the charm bracelet broke?"
"There's nothing in this world that we can't fix together." Chuck answered.
"That's right," nodded Sarah. She lifted her left hand and showed her wedding ring. "No matter what we're in this together."
The special moment between husband and wife was interrupted by Bentley who spoke up. "The charm bracelet and its correlation with Sarah and your mom. The possibility of your mom abandoning you and Ellie…"
"She didn't abandon us!" Chuck angrily blurted out, cutting off Bentley. "There was a reason that she left so unexpectedly," he insisted. "It didn't make sense then. Doesn't make sense now."
Bentley sat there momentarily silent after Chuck's unexpected outburst. After a few more seconds of awkward silence, Bentley spoke up. "I'm sorry," Bentley stood up and apologized. "My intention was not meant to be disrespectful in any way to you Chuck, " she expressed, with apparent genuine sincerity. "Or you Mrs. Bartowski."
A look of anger was clearly expressed on Sarah's face after she heard Bentley's response. "Well, it was. Intentional or not," the beautiful blonde firmly stated. "It's completely disrespectful even for an experienced, respected and former journalist such as yourself." she pointed out.
At that point, Bentley scooted forward to the edge of her interview chair and held out her right hand. "Again, I mean no disrespect and deeply regret my choice of words concerning your mother, Chuck." Once again, the award-winning documentarian paused and pressed on. She made sure to choose her next words very carefully. "Have you been able to figure out why your mother left under such suspicious circumstances?" questioned Bentley.
"No."
"Why is that?"
"I was focused on trying to find my father," responded Chuck. "I hoped finding my father would eventually lead to my mother," he further noted. "Unfortunately, the potential leads wound up becoming dead ends."
Bentley arched her right brow. "As a journalist, I don't believe in dead ends, especially when it was about a story I was involved in. I just ended up finding another angle that ultimately led me to the answers I needed." she shared. Afterwards, she pointed at the happily married couple. "Don't give up because there's a lead out there and I'm sure one will turn up." she insisted.
"Thanks for the advice," nodded Chuck.
"We'll certainly take it into consideration." acknowledged Sarah.
"Excellent. I'm glad we were able to close this documentary on a positive note rather than on a negative note. Thank you. The both of you for doing this interview and sharing the remarkable journey you've endured in order to literally get back on your feet. The two of you are a prime example of when going through good times and bad you don't give up or quit on each other. You'll always stick by each other's side and what was that you said Sarah," Bentley glanced down at her notecards because she took note of it and wrote it down. "There's nothing in this world that we can't fix together." She lifted her head and nodded. "It's truly an excellent reminder."
"And thank you," Bentley turned to the camera to speak to the viewing audience. "The viewing audience. You all tuned in and watched the amazing journey of a man who was considered a social media fan favorite and his life was nearly cut short by a disillusioned fan who stepped over the line. A man who went through his ups and downs like any human being who unfortunately made some mistakes in the process. He owned up to those mistakes and ultimately fought back to put himself, his life and relationship together…"

It may end up possibly shining on you. For all of us here on Nationwide Community Spotlight, I'm your host, Jane Bentley."
Bentley pressed a button on the keyboard sitting in front of her stopping the video. A vanilla file folder was sitting just off to the right of the computer keyboard. Afterwards, she turned around in her chair and looked at the two individuals sitting across from her.
"So, what do you think?" she inquired. "Once the documentary has some finishing touches added to it and is finalized, it will be ready for the viewing audience soon." she furthered add.
"It was awesome," Chuck responded, giving a thumbs up. "It has sort of The Office feeling all throughout the documentary. Emmitt is definitely Dwight." Bentley was about to say something when Chuck blurted out something. "Or Toby! Yeah, definitely Toby. Nobody likes Toby. Michael certain didn't." he added, shaking his head.
"I'm definitely Jim," He pointed to himself. Afterwards he pointed to his wife. "And you're a blonde version of Pam, Babe."
Sarah sat there briefly staring at her husband before she turned her attention to Bentley. "I apologize for anything that Molly said or did whenever you interviewed her." stated Sarah, shaking her head.
Bentley cracked a slight grin in response. "She certainly exhibited a big personality and an attitude to match. I wonder where she gets it from." she stated, looking at Sarah.
"No comment." responded Sarah, rolling her eyes.
After expressing a soft chuckle of amusement, she spoke up again. "I heard about the verdict that Lizzie received and I'm sure you're relieved because it's finally over."
Chuck nodded. "Indeed. Life without the possibility of parole. There were more charges tacked on because she physically assaulted Sarah in court."
"Our lawyer Justin informed us we didn't have to attend her sentencing, but we did." Sarah chimed in. "We wanted to show Lizzie that we don't fear her, and she doesn't control our lives." she noted.
"I'm sure you did." Bentley retorted. Afterwards, she briefly turned her around in her chair to retrieve that same vanilla file folder that was sitting next to the computer keyboard. "I have something for you." She lifted the vanilla file folder and showed it to Mr. and Mrs. Bartowski.
"What is it?"
"Do you remember what I said about not giving up when it comes to leads about your father?
"Yeah," nodded Chuck. "From what I remember, you also said when you were a journalist you just ended up finding another angle that ultimately led me to the answers you needed." the nerd added. "Why?"
"Here," Bentley reached out and handed the file to Chuck. "Open it up."
A look of confusion mixed with curiosity was expressed by Chuck after taking the vanilla folder. That same look of confused curiosity was expressed on Sarah's face as well. A few seconds later after briefly looking at another, Chuck opened the vanilla folder and inside of it was a picture of two individuals. One of them was someone Chuck and Sarah knew.
"It's Hartley," Chuck lifted his head and looked directly at Bentley, "Who is the other guy with the chiseled chin?" he wondered. "He sort of looks like the guy from the 90's series The Sentinel."
"The other guy with the chiseled chin," Bentley responded. "Is United States Federal Attorney, Clyde Decker."
"United States Federal Attorney?" questioned Sarah. She briefly glanced down looking at the photo once again. "How does Hartley know him?"
"Apparently, they're old friends." answered the award-winning documentarian. "As my editor and I were putting the documentary together I noticed the both of them talking to each at the wedding reception. So, I snapped a pic. I didn't realize who it was until I realized Decker was part of a story that I covered several years back. Although the case is closed, it's still considered an open investigation by Clyde Decker."
"What story?" wondered Chuck.
"It involved the CEO of QCC, Quinn Consolidated Corporation," shared Bentley. "Nicholas Quinn." she revealed.
"Why does that name sound familiar?" responded Chuck, furrowing his eyebrows. A few seconds later, it dawned on him. He lifted his right hand and snapped his fingers. "Nick Quinn was a prodigy/wunderkind of the gaming world who started his own company called C.I.A. It stood for Capture, Integrate and Activate. Unfortunately, he was forced to step aside and relinquish control of the company."
"Why?" wondered Sarah.
"Mental Health issues," answered Chuck. "Gamers like Morgan, Bryce, and myself know he's a legend in the gaming world. We always wondered what happened to him after he seemingly disappeared."
"Well," chimed in Bentley. "He eventually resurfaced several years later with a renewed sense of mental health. He started another company that didn't involve gaming. This time around it was more about Real Estate and Investments." she further revealed.
"Awesome for him," Chuck responded. "But you said he's being investigated. Why?"
"There have been countless investigations against Quinn that have had him allegedly involved in fraud, money laundering, racketeering and even murder." Bentley listed off. "That's just the tip of the iceberg. Decker wasn't able to get any of the charges to stick because of Quinn's high-priced lawyers."
"Murder?" Sarah furrowed her eyebrows. "Who was his alleged victim?"
"His Chief Financial Officer, Roger Bale." Bentley answered. "He supposedly had state's evidence that proved Quinn was guilty of everything he was accused of. Unfortunately, 2 days before he agreed to give sworn testimony and testify against his boss he died under suspicious circumstances."
"Okay," nodded Chuck. He continued to furrow his eyebrows. "Why are you telling us all this?"
"The reason why I'm telling you all this is," Bentley took a deep breath before she resumed speaking. "Your mom was somehow involved."

Chuck's eyes widened, nearly popping out of his head. "What!?"
"How certain are you that Chuck's mom is involved?" questions Sarah.
"My instincts as a journalist kicked in and did a little investigating of my own. Contacted sources I could still trust without ringing any alarms." answered Bentley.
"What did you find out?" wondered Sarah. She and Chuck continued listening while sifting through the vanilla folder that Bentley provided them.
"The one thing that Roger Bale was known for was always having a back-up plan if anything went south. He'd always back up important information on a thumb drive or disc." she further revealed. "I'm betting all the evidence against Quinn was downloaded on a thumb drive or a disc. I'm also betting he needed someone who he trusted to send it to and keep it safe."
A look of perplexed confusion and bewilderment was expressed on Chuck's face. "My mom?"
"How do they even know each other?" wondered Sarah.
"It turned out before Bale became Chief Financial Officer for Quinn; he was running his own financial firm here in Los Angeles." Bentley shared. Afterwards, she pointed at Chuck. "Your mom was part of Bale's financial firm working as a financial paralegal. They were also apparently good friends from high school."
At the same time Bentley revealed the connection between Bale and Mary Bartowski, Chuck was looking over high school pictures the award-winning documentarian found. It was certainly mind blowing not only for Chuck, but for Sarah as well. As the nerdy couple continued to look through the pictures in the vanilla folder, Bentley continued speaking.
"From what I was able to gather, Bale and your mother dated for a while but ended up breaking up. They still remained friends. She ended up meeting your father and the rest is history. Bale was even invited to your mom and dad's wedding. Take a look." Bentley pointed to the vanilla folder. "From what I was able to find out, your mom took maternity leave because of you," She pointed to Chuck. "And while on maternity leave, she made the decision to quit her job as a financial paralegal to stay home to become a wife and raise their two kids."
Chuck flipped through the vanilla folder and eventually saw the photo of Roger Bale pictured with his mom and dad at their wedding. The youngest son of Stephen and Mary Bartowski was absolutely floored and was momentarily rendered speechless, which caused him to shake his head in disbelief. Fortunately, Sarah was right there by his side to speak up on behalf of her husband.
"So, what you're saying is," Sarah briefly paused trying to wrap her mind around what Bentley was sharing with the both of them. "Chuck's mom could very well be in the witness protection program?"
"It's a likely possibility." acknowledged Bentley. "Unfortunately, you both had to tread very carefully from this point on." she insisted, with caution.
"We will," Sarah nodded. At that point, Sarah's eyes suddenly widened and turned to face her husband. "Chuck, your dad."
"I know," responded Chuck. "He was probably close to her trail and then something happened."
"Do you think…"
"I don't know." Chuck quickly chimed, shaking his head. "At least I hope not." he added. The sound of concern and worry expressed in his voice.
There was a brief moment of silence before Sarah turned her attention to Bentley. "I know we can't ask you this…"
Bentley immediately lifted her right hand and stopped Sarah. "I'm already deep in it as it is. I can't stop even if I wanted to." she stated, knowing the dangers the lie ahead for her. "I'll keep in contact and let you know if I find out anything more."
Sarah nodded. "We'll do our best to do some investigating on our end with who we can trust."
It didn't take long before Bentley figured out what Sarah meant. "The private investigator who runs Longshore Investigations." Sarah nodded in response. Afterwards, a growing smile was expressed on Bentley's face. "I haven't felt this excited in a while. Do you know what that means?" she added, looking back and forth at the happily married couple."
It took everything in Chuck to finally speak up after hearing what was considered an absolute bombshell. "Yeah, this isn't the end." he stated, shaking his head. A few seconds later, he turned his attention from Bentley to his wife. "It's just the beginning of so many more questions. One of them being," A serious expression appeared on his wife. "How much does Hartley actually know?"
