The Destiny of Kate Austen

Jack devastated over the death of Locke decides to take the leap. The consequences of this action cause Destiny to come for Kate Austen. This story follows the aftermath of Jack's death and how they get back to the island and protect it. Major story changes for Kate Austen and Claire Littleton. PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END.

1. Jack's Leap

Jack drove to a bridge over the Los Angelas River and stopped his car. He got out the obituary for Jeremy Bentham and cried thinking about Locke. Jack called Kate but she didn't answer, and he left her a message about the obituary but couldn't finish it. Jack got out and walked to the railing and got on it. He looked to the sky and begged for forgiveness. Jack heard a crash behind him but thinking about everything in his life and how he screwed up, knew the world was better off without him and that he was a failure. Jack stepped off and fell onto the concrete below. Jack took one look at the sky and saw a plane flying overhead. Jack closed his eyes and died.

Ben's people were watching the ambulance take the mother and son to the hospital and turned to see them below carrying Jack's body away. He called Ben and said "Ben, we have a problem".

Ben asked, "What is it".

Ben's man answered, "Shephard's dead".

Ben said, "I'm on my way".

Kate was making breakfast for Aaron when he said "Mommy. I wanna cartoons".

Kate responded, "all right baby, but you have to eat at the table".

Aaron said, "Okay mommy". Aaron turned on the TV and immediately saw Jack on the news. Aaron said "Mommy. Jack on TV".

Kate asked, "What is it baby".

Aaron said "Jack, mommy. He's on TV".

Kate turned to see the news report and heard "Oceanic Six survivor Jack Shephard found dead this morning. He was in the LA River after jumping from the sixth street bridge".

Aaron asked, "Mommy what's happening".

Kate said, "Aaron go to your room".

Aaron responded "Mommy".

Kate raised her voice and said "Aaron. I told you to go to your room. Will you listen to me for once. Go to your room". Aaron ran to his room and Kate turned her attention back to the TV and said "Jack. What did you do".

Ben arrived in Los Angelas and went to his man who was watching Jack. Ben asked, "What happened".

Ben's man answered "Shephard. Got off the plane and on his way home just pulled over and jumped. He had this on him".

Ben's man gave Ben the obituary and Ben said "Well, I guess he took it in a different way than we thought".

Ben's man asked, "What do we do now".

Ben answered "We continue as planned. Getting them all to the island".

Ben's man asked, "But without Shephard".

Ben said "Don't worry, I have a plan. A plan to get them all together".
