Ben called his lawyer Dan Norton and said "Hello Dan, it's me. Is Ms Littleton in town".
Dan said "Yes, in fact, she's coming to see me very soon".
Ben said "Get her to see you right away. And pick up the blood sample for Aaron. It's time for his grandmother to know the truth". Ben hung up and got ready to get the Oceanic Six back to the island.
Dan called Carole and said, "Hey Miss Littleton, it's Dan Norton from Agostini and Norton".
Carole responded "Yes, hello Dan. Our meeting's not for a couple of days".
Dan said "Something has come up, and I need to see this right away. Is this a good time".
Carole said "Uh, yeah, what is this about Mr Norton".
Dan said, "I can't discuss that until I see you".
Carole said "Okay. I'll be waiting for you". Dan collected the blood sample for Aaron from his safe and then drove to the motel where Carole was staying. He went up to Carole's room and knocked on the door. Carole was looking at the picture of Claire she brought with her when she heard the knock and opened the door. Carole said, "Hello Mr Norton, come on in".
Dan said, "Thank you Ms Littleton". Dan entered and saw the picture of Claire and asked, "Is that your daughter Ms Littleton".
Carole answered "Yes. That's my Claire. She's way I called you. She was on Oceanic 815".
Dan said "Ms Littleton. I don't think we should continue this case against Oceanic".
Carole asked "What. Why not".
Dan said "Something else has come up. Something that you need to know. Can we sit".
Carole said "Of course". Dan and Carole sat, and Dan got the Aaron's blood sample out. Carole was shocked to it and asked, "Is that blood Mr Norton".
Dan answered "Yes, taken from a three-year-old by the name of Aaron. He was the baby that the Oceanic Six returned with".
Carole said "Yeah, I saw him at the funeral for Mr Shephard. Why do you have his blood Mr Norton".
Dan answered "Because another client of mine is bringing a case against the Oceanic Six and Ms Austen in particular. They believe the Oceanic Six lied. That the whole story about their time on the island is a complete lie".
Carole took it in and said "That's unbelievable. But why would you bring this up with me. What, how am I involved".
Dan said, "My client wants you to join in on this case and go to the police with them".
Carole said "Mr Norton. I still don't understand, how does this include me and the blood of a child".
Dan said "Because Ms Littleton, we have reason to believe that Ms Austen lied about giving birth on that island. That the child she has been raising for the last three years is not hers, and that he is actually the son of your daughter".
Carole was taken aback by this and asked "Mr Norton, what are you saying".
Dan said "We need your help Ms Littleton. We need you to expose the Oceanic Six for the liars that they are. To get you your grandson".
Carole said "Mr Norton. I don't have grandson".
Dan got out a medical report and said "Ms Littleton. This is the medical report from Sydney hospital confirming that your daughter went for an ultrasound. She was eight months when she boarded Oceanic flight 815 and here's the police report for the capture of Ms Austen in Sydney. No report of her being pregnant. But she did overturn a car allude capture. If she was six months pregnant as she claimed, why would she overturn a car to avoid capture. An act which could have killed her and her child. And this report from the birth of the Oceanic 815 Sun Kwon's daughter. Full term baby. On time. Not late. She was pregnant for supposedly tenth months but didn't have a late baby. And this medical report confirming that Jin Kwon, who was her husband, and the supposed father of her child was sterile. Now Ms Littleton, this could all be circumstantial and Ms Austen had poor judgement, that your daughter was pregnant as well but died, that Mrs Kwon did lie but because she didn't want people to know she had an affair. But all the bodies were found in the plane. The story which the Oceanic Six confirmed had all 324 dead bodies. They claimed that this was a miscount but upon recount. 324. All the passengers were in there. Not 316 like what they should be if it was just the eight of them that made it to the island, or however the number of people left the plane, like they said. But no. There was 324. The total amount of people that boarded, were found. Now Ms Littleton, you see why my client is concerned".
Carole asked "So, you really believe that this boy, the baby I saw in his mothers, in Ms Austen's arms is my grandson".
Dan said "Ms Littleton, my client believes beyond doubt that he is. All we need to get the Oceanic Six is to test your blood. Confirm that he is your grandson and expose them all as the liars they are".
Carole turned to the bed and got up and grabbed the picture of Claire. She thought about Claire and how much she missed her, how all she wanted was for her to come home, and this was her chance to have that. To protect the last bit of Claire that remained on Earth. To have a grandchild and for him to have a family. Carole said, "Let's do this. I want my grandson".
Dan said, "Hold on one second". Dan called Ben and said "Mr Linus. Ms Littleton's on board. Where would you like her to meet you".
Ben answered "The police station. Everything is all set up. Get her here now".
Dan hung up and said "Ms Littleton, will you kindly follow me to the police station".
Carole answered "Of course. Not a moment to waste".
