Dan and Carole left to the police station where Dan said "Inside Ms Littleton. My client is waiting for you".
Carole accepted and exited the car heading inside the police station. Ben approached her and said "Ms Littleton. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Benjamin Linus".
Carole said "Hello Mr Linus. Now, tell me this before we do anything, how sure are you that this little boy is my grandson".
Ben said, "I believe it as much as I believe we are both real".
Carole asked, "What do I do".
Ben said "Officer Rodgers, can you take Ms Littleton to have her blood sample taken and compare it with the one for the child".
Officer Rodgers answered "Absolutely". Officer Rodgers took Aaron's blood sample and led Carole to the back room where he sat her down and told her "This is gonna pinch a little". Carole accepted and breathed deep, and her blood was taken. Officer Rodgers said "There we go. All done. Now all we do is compare the samples".
Carole asked, "This quick".
Officer Rodgers said, "We were all set up".
Carole said "So, you knew I'd come".
Officer Rodgers said "This is potentially your grandson. There was no doubt. Now can you wait with Mr Linus while I do this. Won't be a moment".
Carole accepted and said, "Thank you officer Rodgers".
Officer Rodgers said "Thank you for doing this. You're really helping us".
Carole accepted and left. Ben asked, "How did it go Ms Littleton".
Carole said, "Officer Rodgers will be out in a moment".
Officer Rodgers performed the test and printed the results out. He saw that they confirmed that Carole was Aaron's grandmother and left the room. Carole and Ben looked at him and Officer Rodgers called out "Captain. Captain. You need to see this".
The police captain came over and asked, "What is it Officer Rodgers".
Officer Rodgers said "This is test confirming the relation of Ms Littleton to the baby that survived Oceanic 815. Ms Austen lied about giving birth on the island and this proves it".
The captain looked at it and asked, "Oceanic 815".
Officer Rodgers said, "Would you like me to issue an arrent warrant for the Oceanic Six".
The captain looked at the results and said "Yes. Bring them in. We need to confirm that Ms Austen isn't related to the child and send them in. I'd like to speak to them".
Officer Rodgers responded, "Yes Captain". Officer Rodgers then went over to Carole and Ben and said, "The captain would like to speak to you both". Carole and Ben accepted this and followed Officer Rodgers to the captain. Officer Rodgers said "Captain. Ms Littleton and Mr Linus".
The captain said "It's so nice to meet you Mr Linus and Ms Littleton. Please sit down". They all sat down, and the captain said "Now, these results have just come to me and confirm Ms Littleton that you are the grandmother of the child Aaron. Member of the Oceanic Six". Carole took it in and was delighted that she had a grandson and could take him home to raise him like Claire would want.
Ben said "So, are the Oceanic Six being arrested".
The captain said, "We are issuing warrants for their arrests, and they'll be in custody".
Ben said, "When you arrest Ms Austen, what will happen to Ms Littleton's grandson".
The captain said, "We'll bring him back to the station and Ms Littleton, you'll be given the child to care for until we can prove Ms Austen isn't his mother".
Carole asked "But how. I'm not her mother or even related to her".
The captain said, "More protocol than anything, just to have a definitive no to Ms Austen's motherhood of your grandson".
Carole asked "Can I come. Come with you when you arrest Ms Austen. My grandson will be with her, and he'll be distressed by the situation, and I want to be with him".
The captain said "As you are confirmed family I will allow it. But you must listen to every order my officers give you. This is for your safety and that of your grandsons".
Carole said "Understood. Thank you. What do I do".
The captain said, "Wait until my officers come and collect you to head to their location. Now, if you'd kindly wait outside".
Carole said, "Thank you".
Ben said, "I appreciate all the hard work you and your officers have done for me and this case".
The captain said, "Anytime Mr Linus".
Ben and Carole left. Carole said "I don't know what to say. Thank you, Mr Linus. I had no idea about any of this or would even had thought of this. You have done me, my daughter, and my grandson more than we could ever repay you".
Carole hugged Ben and Ben said "You're welcome Ms Littleton. I'm happy that you'll have your grandson. Enjoy being a grandmother".
Carole said "Oh, this is more than I could have ever dreamed".
Ben said "Enjoy". Ben then left the police station.
Officer Rodgers went over to the captain and said "We have a confirmed location on Ms Austen. Her cars been spotted outside the address of Jack Shephard's mother house".
The captain said "Good. Now take Ms Littleton with you and once you have the child then put an all-out alert on the other members of the Oceanic Six".
Officer Rodgers said, "On it captain". Officer Rodgers left and "Ms Littleton, you're with me". Ms Littleton followed and entered the car with Officer Rodgers they left the station and headed out to the home of Margot Shephard. They arrived and Officer Rodgers said "My partners are here. You wait here until I give the all clear. Then you come out and meet your grandson". Carole accepted and Officer Rodgers left the car. He went over to his fellow police officers and said, "On me". All three went to the house and knocked on the door.
Kate answered and asked "Hello. Is this about Jack because his mother's very distraught at the moment and she'd like to do this at a later date".
Officer Rodgers said "We're not here for Ms Shephard, Ms Austen. We're here for you".
Margot and Aaron came over and Margot asked "Kate what's going on. Why are the police here".
Officer Rodgers said "Katherine Austen, you are under arrest for the abduction of the child Aaron".
Officer Rodgers grabbed her, and Kate asked "What. He's, my son. What are you doing".
Aaron cried "mommy, no".
Margot said "Officers, you are mistaken. The boy is her son, there's no abduction".
Officer Rodgers said, "We'll be the judges of that mam". Officer Rodgers then read Kate her rights and handcuffed her.
Officer Rodger then led Kate away and Aaron ran after them and said "Mommy. Mommy. Let my mommy go".
Kate called back "It'll be okay Aaron. Just stay here and mommy will be out real soon".
Carole heard this and was disgusted by the way she was acting like her grandson's mother when she abducted him. Officer Rodgers said "I wouldn't be the judge on that. Ms Littleton. You can come out now".
Kate was shocked to hear this name and Carole exited and saw Kate's face. Carole knew that Kate realised what was going on and that she was caught. This confirmed to her that she abducted Aaron. Carole walked over to the house and as Kate was being placed in the back of the car, she thought about screaming and telling Aaron to not listen to them and that she was his mother but knew that this would be for nothing because she would never have Aaron again and it was pointless.
The police officers said "Ms Shephard. Can we come in and talk".
Margot said "Come in then. All of you". Carole thought that she mustn't know about how her dead husband had an affair with her and it led to Claire but wasn't going to bring this up because Aaron was their main priority, and she had just lost her son. Margot said "Come in Aaron. We need to talk to the police officers". Aaron was confused about what to do but knew Kate would want him to listen to her until she came back. Aaron followed and they all sat in the lounge room. Margot asked, "Why have you barged in here, on today of all days and arrested this poor boy's mother".
Aaron asked, "Why have you arrested my mommy".
The police officer answered "We ran tests on the blood of the child's and Ms Littleton here. And we have confirmed that she is his grandmother".
Carole said "Aaron. I'm your grandmother. I want you to come home with me and we can be a family".
Aaron said, "No. I live with my mommy".
The police officer said "Aaron. Kate is not your mother. She lied and took you".
Aaron said "No, you lie and take mommy. You're bad men".
Margot said "Aaron. These are police officers. They are not bad men. Don't call them that".
Aaron responded, "They take mommy away".
The police officer said "Son. I know this is extremely difficult to understand but we are telling you the truth. We help kids, kids like you and we just want to make sure that you are safe".
Aaron responded "But you are wrong. Mommy is mommy".
The police officer said "We performed a test on your blood and her. They are the same. Yours and Kate's aren't. That means she is your family, not Kate".
Aaron said, "Test is wrong".
Carole said "They're not wrong Aaron. I understand why you believe she's your mother, but she lied to you. Lied to me. Took you from your real mummy and lied to the world. I will do anything to get you to believe me Aaron. You're all of my daughter that I have left in the world and a plead of you, believe me. You look so much like her, and I will never lie to you or not look after you. All I want is to take you home and look after you. We're family and I want us to be together".
Aaron listened and thought that she sounded honest and like she cared for him. Aaron asked, "Are you really my grandma".
Carole answered "Yes. Yes. Yes. I am your grandma, and I want you to come home with me. We're all each other has".
Aaron asked, "You're not saying lies".
Carole said "No Aaron. I will never lie to you. I'm sorry this happened. I wish it never did. If I was told the truth I would have been there day one for you. And I'll always be there for you".
Aaron said, "I believe you".
Carole said "Thank you, thank you, thank you Aaron. I will look after you and protect you. Will you come with me". Aaron was unsure and Carole "Please Aaron. I know this is hard and I know this is difficult. I don't blame you for being scared and afraid. I am to. I really am. But you're my grandson and I won't let anything happen to you". Aaron got up and hugged Carole. She embraced him back and could feel Claire within him. She then said "Thank you Aaron. I really appreciate how brave you are being". She then asked the police officers "What do we do now".
The police officers answered, "We'll take you back to your motel room and there we will stay until we hear back from the tests conducted by Ms Austen".
Carole said, "Come on Aaron, let's go".
Carole led Aaron out of the house and into the back of the police car. Margot watched them leave and couldn't believe the day she's had, or the fact that her son's girlfriend was a child abductor. She wanted to ask Jack all about this and was devastated that she couldn't.
The police drove Carole and Aaron back to her motel and went inside with them. The police officer said, "We should be hearing from them very soon".
Aaron saw the picture of Claire and asked, "Who is this".
Carole said "Aaron. This is my daughter. Her name's Claire and she's the most precious thing in the world to me. You look so much like her. I, I just can't believe it. She would be so proud of you. You've been so brave today, nobody and I mean nobody could have done what you did today and I'm so happy to finally meet you".
The police officer got a call and officer Rodgers said "Reporting in on Austen. Oven".
The police officer asked "We're still with them. What to report".
Officer Rodgers said "We have a confirmed test result that Ms Austen is not the boy's mother. I repeat not the boy's mother".
The police officer said "Copy that. Over".
The police officer told Carole and Aaron "We have a confirmation. Ms Austen is not the mother to Aaron. We can confirm to you both that she was lying".
Aaron began to cry and ran to the bathroom. Carole said "Aaron. Please wait. Stop". She went to the bathroom door and said "It's okay Aaron. It's okay. I'm here. Just come out. I know this is hard, I know and I'm so sorry but please come out. We're on this together and I need you to be brave right now. You are strong Aaron. Strong and brave. Please come out. Please".
Aaron opened the door and Carole hugged him. She said "It's okay. It's okay". She then wiped away his tears and said "You've done so good. And I couldn't be more proud of you. I love you and I'm going to stand by you every step of the way. This is difficult and I can't do it alone, we need to do it together".
Aaron cried "Mommy lies".
Carole hugged him again and said "It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. You're so brave. You're so much like your mum, that it makes me cry. I miss her every day, but I have you and you have me. So, wipe away those tears and let's not let them get what they want. The people that want to keep us down and hurt us; they want us to cry and hide but we're not like that. We're strong and united. Together we can do anything. So, let's start with this".
Carole and Aaron walked over to the police and Carole asked, "What do we do now".
The police officer answered "Stay here. Look after your grandson, and we'll be in contact".
Carole answered "Okay. Look forward to hearing from you soon".
The police officer said, "Good luck".
The police officer said, "Yeah Good luck".
The police left and Carole turned to see Aaron looking at Claire's picture. Aaron asked, "Is this my real mommy".
Carole answered "Yes, she is your mummy. And I know she loved you very much".
Aaron said, "I look like her".
Carole said "Extremely". She then said to Aaron "Thank you for coming into my life. I thought I had nothing until today. I thought I lost everything, but you saved me".
Aaron asked, "Am I staying with you forever grandma".
Carole answered "Yes. Absolutely. We're staying together and nothing will separate us". She then said "And I think you're exhausted from everything that happened today. You go have a nap and I'll be right here until you wake up". Aaron crawled onto the bed and got under the quilt. Carole said "Have a good sleep, Aaron. I love you". She then gave him a kiss on the forehead.
Aaron said, "night grandma".
Carole responded, "have a good sleep Aaron". Carole watched Aaron sleep and had no doubt in her mind that he was Claire's because he was identical to her in every way, including sleep. She remembered watching Claire at his age sleep exactly like Aaron was and how much joy it gave her to watch Claire sleep. She felt it again with him but wasn't going to let him go. She whispered "I lost you baby. I won't lose him. He's all of you I have left, and I'll keep him safe. For you. Thank you for giving me a grandchild".
Sayid arrives at Santa Rosa and after killing the man watching Hurley. He goes in and tells Hurley about Locke's death and that he's there to get Hurley somewhere safe. As they leave the door is burst down by the police and they order "Hands up. Put your hands up".
Sayid and Hurley are confused by this and comply. Sayid has a quick look outside and see that they are surrounded. Sayid and Hurley surrender and are both put in handcuffs. The police said "Sayid Jarrah and Hugo Reyes, you are under arrest"
Sayid asked, "What are we being charged with".
The police answered, "The abduction of Aaron Littleton".
Sayid and Hurley both recognised the name and knew that the world must have found out about the lie in regard to Aaron. How they lied about him and said that Kate was his mother. Sayid accepted this while Hurley thought that this was just the coming of the inevitable and it was always going to happen eventually.
