Sawyer and Kate are horrified by Daniel being shot and Sawyer exclaims "No" and tries to run down there and attack the Others.
Kate asks, "What the hell do you think you're doing".
Sawyer said "They just shot him, Freckles. They ain't talking".
Kate responded "And they're gonna shoot you to, especially with that out. We have to go, James. We have to go now". Kate and Sawyer tried to leave but Charles rod in on a horse and whacked Sawyer with his gun. Kate rushed over to Sawyer and said "James". An Other told Kate to not move and aimed his gun at her.
Charles asked Sawyer "And just who the bloody hell might you be".
Eloise read through Daniel's journal and read the message in the front from her future self and knew that it was her handwriting. Charles brought Sawyer and Kate down as captives and asked Eloise what happened. Richard said that Daniel had a gun to his head and Eloise shot him. Richard asked where he found Sawyer and Kate and Charles said that he found them hiding in the bushes likes rats. Eloise asked if they came with Daniel and Kate answered "Yes. Yes, we came here with Daniel". Eloise told the Others to put them in her tent. Sawyer and Kate were taken to Eloise's tent and Charles asked why the Dharma initiative had declared war on them. Eloise said that they weren't part of the Dharma initiative Charles asked where they were from.
Sawyer and Kate were thrown into Eloise's tent, and Sawyer told the Other "Take it easy on her".
Sawyer was kicked in the head and told "Don't talk. Understand".
Kate asked Sawyer "Are you okay".
Sawyer answered "I'm fine Freckles, but I don't know so much about you. What was all that about out there. Our destiny. Purpose. You know you sound a hell of a lot like Locke".
Kate said "Because we need to do what Dan said. What he died for. We need to stop our plane from crashing".
Sawyer responded "He wanted to set off a hydrogen bomb. Is that what you want to do. Set off a nuke".
Kate said, "It's the only way to fix our mistakes".
Sawyer asked, "What mistake was so bad, you're willing to set off a nuke, just to make it right".
Kate answered "To many. To many".
Sawyer said "Well, if I recall, you were being shuttled off to prison, if we reset everything, that's where you'll be".
Kate said "But everybody else will be fine. You, Jack, Charlie, Shannon, Boone, Locke, Micheal. All of it will be erased and they'll be fine".
Sawyer said "I want them back to. I'd give anything to see them all again, but we can't. They're dead and we have to accept that they're gone. Jack's dead Kate. Nothing can bring him back".
Kate said "He's not the main reason I'm doing this. Aaron is".
Sawyer asked, "What does the kid have anything to do with it".
Kate said "I took him. When we left, I lied and said he was mine. I wanted him. I ignored the fact that he might have a family or Claire because I wanted him. I stole him from both his mother and grandmother".
Sawyer asked, "I thought you said that Aaron was with his grandmother".
Kate said "He is now. But only because I got caught. My lie caught up with me and that's how I got those handcuffs. How we all were in handcuffs and it's all my fault. I was selfish and didn't think about anybody but my myself. I hurt a three-year-old. Terrified him and made him not know who he was all because I needed him".
Sawyer said "But he's with his grandmother now. It was already set right".
Kate said "Not the damage I did. And I know that I did damage. You should have seen his face. That is something I'll never forget, and I need to fix it. This is also the only way that Claire can be with him. She is his mother, and they deserve to be together. And even though she was on the plane to give him up. I know that they'll be together".
Sawyer asked "How. How do you know. If you do this and Claire was going to give the kid up for adoption, how do you know she'll change her mind".
Kate answered "Because they're meant to be together. They love each other and are supposed to be with each other".
Sawyer asked, "What if you're wrong".
Kate said "Then at least Aaron won't look at me the way he did. That was the worst thing I have ever felt, and I know it's all my fault. If I can do one thing, it's that". Eloise came in and asked about what Daniel needed the bomb for, and Kate answered, "You wouldn't believe us if we told you the truth".
Eloise told Kate "When I was seventeen years old, I took a young man to the bomb. He proceeded to tell me that if we buried it underground. When I asked him how he could be so sure. He said that he was from the future. And then he disappeared. Right in front of my bloody eyes".
Sawyer said "Yeah, I'm aware. I was there. I was the guy that had the gun on you".
Eloise turned and said "You were. You were there". She then asked Sawyer "Well then, tell me this. The man I shot. He told me something before he died. He told me that he, he said he was my son. And this, this is my handwriting, but I don't remember writing it. So, tell me. Is the man I shot my son".
Sawyer answered "Yes. He was your son. We came here looking for your help".
Eloise asked "The bomb. What did he need the bomb for".
Kate said "Because we need to put things right. You and me. We both hurt our sons in irreversible ways. But Daniel, he found a way to make it all right. Fix things. If we do this, then your son will still be alive and mine, mine will be far better off. He'll be safe and he'll be happy, all with his real mother. The one I took from him".
Eloise could see the hurt and desperation in her eyes. Eloise agreed and said "all right, then. I believe you. I'll take you to the bomb. There's just one small issue, however. We secured it over twenty years ago underground but since that time it appears someone has built an entire village over it".
Sawyer asked, "You don't mean".
Eloise said "However, it appears you've been passing yourselves off as member, so I suppose getting coming and going will be relatively simple".
Sawyer said, "We can do that but I'm not sure if I want to".
Kate exclaimed "James".
Sawyer said "She's wants to. I don't".
Kate said "James, please believe me. This will work. I know it'll work, and everything will be all right".
Sawyer accepted and said "We'll do it. We'll get this bomb".
Charles asked Richard why Daniel looked familiar to him when Eloise came out with Sawyer and Kate and told Richard and Erik that they were going with her. Charles asked where and she said that Sawyer and Kate can be untied. She then asked for a moment with Daniel and closed Daniel eyes before covering him with a blanket. Eloise said "We're going to the bomb. Those two are going back to the Dharma initiative. We'll break down a wall for you, just find it and we'll be there".
Charles exclaimed what and talked to her alone about her being pregnant and how he didn't want her to go. Sawyer asked Richard "Who's the long hair that whacked me with his gun".
Richard answered "The man you're asking about, Lafluer, is Charles Widmore. He and Eloise are, well, let's just say love can be complicated". Eloise told them that they were moving out and they followed her.
Sawyer and Kate were walking back to the van when they notice Sayid in front of them and Sawyer called out"Hey stop. I said stop you son of a bitch".
Kate exclaimed "James". Sayid tuned and Kate continued "It's Sayid".
Sawyer said, "I know". Sawyer went up to him and asked "Why the hell did you do it. Why the hell did you shoot the kid".
Sayid answered, "Because it was Ben and I was trying to change our future, but it didn't work because despite Benjamin Linus being dead, we're still here".
Sawyer said, "Ben's not dead shooter, we saved him".
Sayid asked, "Why did you do that".
Kate asked "Why did we do that. Since when did shooting kids become okay".
Sayid answered "He's ruined our lives. He's brought us back here. He's the reason why so many of us are dead".
Kate said "He's a kid. He hasn't done any of that yet".
Sayid said, "And if you let him die, he never would have".
Kate said "Because he just a boy. And he doesn't deserve to die or be treated like a monster by you".
Sayid retorted "Did you think about that when you took Claire's baby. When you told the whole world that you were his mother, and it got us all in chains".
Kate slapped Sayid and said, "Fuck you".
Kate then stormed off and Sawyer said to Sayid "You didn't have to treat her like that. She's only trying to help us all and I know that she feels guilty about what happened. But she only did it because she thought it was best".
Sayid responded, "I don't think Claire's mother thinks the same way". He then asked, "What were you two doing out here".
Sawyer answered "Kate, wants to reset time, like you tried to do with Ben. She wants to make everything right and that we never crashed".
Sayid asked, "And how does she plan on doing that".
Sawyer answered, "By setting off a hydrogen bomb". Sayid turned to Sawyer in shock and Sawyer said, "And if you wanna make it up to her, I suggest you help her".
Sayid asked "Why would she want my help. Why would you my help".
Sawyer answered "Because this is a bomb and if we don't want to accidently blow ourselves up. We need you".
Sayid asked "You really think this will work. Reset everything. Get rid of all the horrible things that have happened to us".
Sawyer answered, "Kate believes it".
Sayid "I'm in".
Sayid and Sawyer caught up to Kate and Kate asked, "What's he doing here".
Sawyer answered "Helping".
Sayid said, "If you want to set off that bomb safely and make sure we change the future, you need me".
Kate turned to Sayid and thought about it. She then said "Yeah, I think we do actually. We do need you. It's a bomb and if this is going to work, we need to work together all of us".
Sawyer said, "Then come on Freckles, let's change the future".
Kate, Sawyer, and Sayid headed back to the vans. They arrived and saw Juliet, Miles, Jin, and Hurley waiting for them. Juliet saw them and said "Hey, they're back". Sawyer, Kate, and Sayid went over to them and Juliet asked, "Where's Dan".
Sawyer answered "Dead. They shot him".
Kate said "It was an accident. But they're willing to help us fix it. What we need to do is go back to the Barracks and find them. They'll break a wall down for us".
Miles asked, "How is them going to the Barracks and breaking a wall going to help us stop your plane from crashing".
Kate answered "Because it'll lead us to a bomb. A bomb that if we take to the Swan site and destroy a pocket of electromagnetic energy will stop the Hatch from ever being built and our plane from ever crashing. We'll land in Los Angelas like we were supposed to".
Jin said, "I'll be with Sun and raise our child".
Hurley said, "Everyone like Libby and Charlie will come back".
Kate said "Yes. All we need to do is this one thing and everything will how it's supposed to be".
Juliet said "Then, let's get on with it. We don't have time to waste, especially if we're going to blow up a bomb".
Everyone got into the van, and they drove back to the Barracks. They arrived and Sawyer said "Come on everyone spread out and search the houses. We need to find the hole the Others are coming through. I'll take Sayid and pretend he's my prisoner". Everyone got out and began to search. Sawyer escorted Sayid and led him through the Barracks. Sawyer remarked "Good thing everybody's to busy worried about getting out of here instead of noticing us".
Sayid said, "That's at least one thing going in our favour".
Juliet looked inside Horace's house and found Eloise, Richard, and Erik. Juliet called out "In here. They're here".
Everyone quickly rushed down and Sawyer said, "Good work Blondie". before giving her a kiss.
Richard asked, "you coming".
They all went inside and followed Richard to the bomb. Richard unclothed in and Eloise asked what they were going to do now. Sayid looked at Daniel's book and Kate asked, "Anything in there about how we're supposed to move a ten-tonne bomb".
Sayid said that it was actually 20 tonnes and then told them all that Daniel never intended to move the bomb in its entirety put to remove the plutonium core and how to detonate it. Sawyer remarked "still can't believe we're doing this".
Kate asked "Daniel said that we need to blow up and eliminate a pocket of energy. Is only part of the bomb gonna be enough to do that". Sayid said that the core itself is a thermonuclear weapon and it'll be more than enough. Sayid began to start getting the equipment to remove it and Richard said that they buried it over twenty years ago and put it underground because it was emitting radiation and asked Sayid if he thought that removing the core was a good idea. Richard told Eloise that she was pregnant and Eloise that her being pregnant is why she has to do this. Eloise asked what happened after they do after removed the core and Sayid answered that once the core is removed, they have two hours to get to the Swan site. Kate asked, "Two hours". Sayid said that when Daniel returned to the island, he was very explicit about his timetable. Kate said "Well, if that's the case. We better get moving".
Sayid removed the core, and Richard went over to Sawyer and asked, "Can I ask you question".
Sawyer responded "Sure".
Richard said "When we first met, you got me to trust you by talking about John Locke. The man that walked right into our camp and told me he was gonna be our leader. Well, I've gone off the island three times, since then, to visit him. But he never seemed, uh, particularly special to me".
Sawyer responded, "You said you had a question".
Richard said "You knew him. Locke".
Sawyer answered, "Locke's a man. He makes mistakes, he's scared, he doesn't really know what he's doing. But the one thing he always does is never gives up. He always tries even when the world tells him to stop. If you want to know if John Locke's special, no he isn't. But that doesn't mean I'd give up on him. He'll never stop trying".
Sayid wraps up the bomb and Hurley asks "Dude, is that gonna be safe to carry around like that".
Jin asked, "Is it enough because we can more to protect it".
Miles said "Yeah, it's a nuke remember".
Sayid said, "Don't worry guys, I got it".
Kate and Juliet saw this and everyone got ready to leave. They go back to the hole in the wall and Eloise tells them "All right. With the Dharma initiative distracted we should get through easy, let's go".
Eloise tries to leave but Richard knocks her out with his gun and Kate asks, "What the hell are you doing".
Richard aims a gun at them and said "I'm protecting our leader. Get back". Richard then remarked "She's gonna be angry when she wakes up, but that's a lot better than being dead. She ordered me to help you, we helped you. Now you're on your own. I'll take her out the way we came in".
Sayid said, "Come on everyone, let's go".
Miles said "Yeah, let's hope we don't see each other again". Kate, Sayid, Sawyer, Juliet, Jin, Miles, and Hurley all made their way through Horace's house and as they reach the exit, they see Phil talking to Horace and telling him "Lafluer's gone rogue. He punched me and he stole the kid".
Horace said "Okay, everyone take your weapons and find Lafluer and Juliet. We need to get answers from them".
Phil told security which positions they should go to be, and Juliet asked Sawyer "What do we do. Phil's after us".
Sawyer said "Sayid, get that jumpsuit on. We're hiding in plain sight and moving quickly to the vans".
Sayid got Horace's jumpsuit on, and they all left the house. They moved quicky to the van when Roger noticed them and screamed for their attention. They all turned to Roger who aimed his gun at them and Sawyer pleaded "Roger, we're just taking the Hostile in. Lower your gun".
Juliet said "Yes, Roger please lower it. We're on your side".
Roger screamed "Hey, they're working with the Hostile".
Roger then shot Sayid and as Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, and Jin fired back. Kate and Hurley went over to Sayid. Kate asked "Sayid, you okay".
Sawyer screamed "Kate get Sayid to the van, we'll cover you".
Kate and Hurley helped Sayid up and ran to the van while Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, and Jin laid covering fire to keep the Dharma initiative from firing at them. Kate got Sayid in the back and Hurley got in the driver's seat. Hurley drove over to them and stop next to them. Hurley screamed "Get in". Sawyer laid covering fire as Juliet, Jin, and Miles got in before he did.
Sawyer screamed "Drive". Hurley then drove off and they all fled the Barracks heading to the Swan site.
On the drive Juliet tried to help Sayid and told him "Try not to move. We need to stop the bleeding". Hurley asked if Sayid was okay, and Miles said sarcastically if Sayid looked okay and told Hurley to keep his eyes on the road. Juliet continued to help Sayid and Hurley asked if he should pull over, but Miles told Hurley sarcastically for him to do that and for them to get shot. Miles then told Hurley to just drive. Hurley accepted this and continued to drive.
Sawyer asked Hurley "How much further, Hugo". Hurley answered that they were about five minutes away.
Sayid told Juliet "You can't stop the bleeding".
Juliet told Jin "We need fresh dressings". Sayid said that he needed to modify the bomb, so it detonates on impact. He then said "We need to be there at the moment of the incident. Or all of this will be for nothing".
Kate said "Don't worry Sayid, we'll be there. We'll be there".
They arrive at the Swan site and Sawyer told them, "I take a look at the site, see what's happening". Sawyer goes up to observe the Swan site where he sees Radzinsky telling a worker what to do and Pierre tells Radzinsky that the Gauss readings are off the charts. Radzinsky knows that they are over the pocket and Pierre says that if they keep drilling then all hell would break loose. Phil called Radzinsky and Radzinsky wanted to know what Phil wanted.
Phil said that Sayid had returned and when Radzinsky asked what Phil was talking about Phil said "Here at the Barracks. He, he attacked us and had help from Lafluer and his friends. They stole a van and took off". Radzinsky asked where they took off to and Phil said that he didn't know but that Roger said that they had a bomb. Radzinsky said that the Hostile knew about the Swan and told Phil that he needed to gather some men and get down to the Swan site immediately because when they come, they are going to be ready for them. Sayid heard and alarm and Radzinsky told everyone to keep the drill going and cool.
Sawyer realised the incident was about to happen and said, "I guess this is it", he then ran back to the van and said "on the ridge I was able to have a look at the whole Swan site. Something just happened down there. They hit something. I guess it's time for me to go".
Kate said, "No. Let me do this".
Sawyer said, "I'm sorry Freckles, I'm in charge and it has to be me".
Kate said "No. I made a mess of everything. I need to make it right. Please, let me make it right".
Sawyer relented and said "Go Freckles, go now and do it. I know you can".
Juliet said, "We believe in you Kate".
Sayid informed her "it's all set to go Kate. Just be careful and once you're in position at the closest possible place to the source of electromagnetism, drop it and it will detonate".
Kate responded "Thank you Sayid. I will save you".
Sayid responded, "Nothing can save me".
Kate then picked up the bomb and said, "See you at LAX". Kate then walked to the Swan worksite.
Jin helped Sayid and Miles remarked "guys a thought just occurred to me. What if this thing that Kate is about to do actually causes what she's trying to prevent. Perhaps the little nuke is the incident. So maybe the best thing to do is nothing". No one responded to him and Miles remarked "I'm glad everyone thought this through".
They then all heard a car passing nearby and Jin told everyone that it was Phil, and he was going to the Swan. Sawyer exclaimed "Oh hell, if they see Kate, they're gonna kill her". He then asked Juliet "Got my back Blondie". Juliet told them Jack's mantra of live together, die along.
Phil arrives and Radzinsky was happy that they got there fast. Phil asked if they had any sign of them and Radzinsky answered that they haven't yet and have time to set up a perimeter. Pierre asked if he had sent security to the site and Phil told security their positions and to get into them. Pierre said that they needed to be getting people away from here. Kate saw this and begun to sneak around. Phil spotted Kate and began to shoot at her. Kate shot back and advanced firing at them while they fired back at her. Radzinsky cried "Get her. She's only a girl".
Phil yelled "Flank her. Get her now".
Sawyer, Juliet, Miles arrived in the van and Radzinsky wanted to know who they were as Sawyer, Miles, and Juliet immediately began firing at them to help Kate. Kate advanced and shot someone who had a sight on Sawyer before they could get him. Sawyer noticed this and was grateful that she spotted him. Kate and Sawyer moved closer to the shaft and Sawyer flanked Phil and Radzinsky knocking Radzinsky out and grabbing Phil from behind while Pierre took his gun. Sawyer told Phil to order everyone to drop their guns and Phil ordered everyone to drop their guns and they complied. Sawyer said, "all right, you can come out now, Freckles". Kate came out and Sawyer told her "You asked me if I believed in you. Do it Kate. Save us". Kate went over to the shaft and Sawyer told Pierre to turn the drill off. Pierre attempted to shut the drill off, but it wouldn't work because something was pulling the drill down. Radzinsky said that they hit the pocket. Kate got the bomb out and prepared to drop it. Sawyer asked "Hurry up, Kate. What the hell you waiting for. Drop it". Kate then turned to everyone, and Sawyer tossed Phil aside. Sawyer and Juliet turned to each other and prepared for what would happen afterwards. Kate dropped it and they all prepared for the explosion they heard nothing and knew that nothing had happened. Sawyer remarked that it didn't look like LAX.
The Incident began and begun sucking in metallic objects. Pierre tried to shut it off and Kate backed away. The drill collapsed and Pierre was crushed. Miles rushed to help him, and Sawyer dodged objects. Miles freed Pierre and told him get away from here. Radzinsky tried to flee in the Jeep and wanted to know what was going on. The jeep was being dragged in, and they had to bail out. Sawyer tried to move but Phil picked up a gun and was about to shoot him when the scaffold collapsed and sent a rod into Phil spearing him and killing him. Chains then were pulled in and wrapped themselves around Juliet. Kate saw this and rushed to help. Juliet was about to be pulled in when Kate grabbed it and tried to pull Juliet back up. Kate then called out for Sawyer. Sawyer seeing Juliet was in trouble rushed over and as Juliet began to fall Sawyer caught her. Sawyer told Kate to get the chains off and she tried but couldn't reach. Sawyer told Juliet to hold on because he got her, but she said that she couldn't. Sawyer said that he had her but as the drill began to collapse Juliet realised that Sawyer was in danger and told him that it was okay. Sawyer struggled to hold Juliet and told her to not leave him. Juliet told him that it was okay, and he ordered her to not leave him. Juliet said that she loved him, and Sawyer tried to stop her from talking like she was about to die. Sawyer couldn't hold on anymore and Juliet fell. Sawyer watched as she fell and cried in devastation. Kate attempted to pull Sawyer away from the shaft and told him that they had to go but Sawyer refused and stayed there. As it was collapsing Kate said, "Come on James, we need to go". She then pulled on him hard and they both fell backward. The drill then fell into the shaft. At the bottom of the shaft Juliet sees the bomb didn't detonate and whacked it with a rock until it detonated.
