Kate awakes in a tree and when she climbed down, she ran into Miles who wanted to know where they were. She then saw the door to the Swan and realised that they were now back in the future. They went to the crater, and they realised that it was the Swan Hatch detonation site. Kate sees Sawyer and says "James, James". She then tried to shake him awake. Sawyer awoke and Kate asked, "Can you hear me, James".
Sawyer grumbled "What happened. Where are we".
Kate answered, "At the Hatch".
Sawyer exclaimed "What". Sawyer sat up and saw the crater. He said "That's the Swan Hatch. Blown up. Just like we left it".
Kate said "James, I'm sorry".
Sawyer responded "You're sorry. You're sorry".
Kate said "Yeah, I'm sorry".
Sawyer said "You blew right back here. Back to the future".
Kate said, "I know".
Sawyer got up and said "You said we could stop it from ever being built. That our plane would never crash on this island".
Kate responded, "I know I'm sorry".
Sawyer remarked "This ain't LAX". He then said "You blew us right back where we started. Except Juliet's dead.
Kate said, "I know and I'm so sorry".
Sawyer responded, "She's dead bitch because you were wrong".
Kate responded "James, I'm so sorry. I'm so very sorry. I thought we were supposed to. I thought it would work".
Sawyer responded "Well, it didn't. You crazy bitch. You're crazy. You're literally insane and we were crazy for following you".
Kate said "Sawyer. I know you're upset".
Sawyer said "I'm beyond upset. I'm devastated and I'm furious. You killed the woman I love. You killed and ruined my life".
Jin came over and said, "Sayid needs help".
Kate asked, "Where is he".
Jin answered "With Hurley at the van. Two minutes away. He's still bleeding we don't know what to do".
Kate heard a faint noise of Juliet calling out for help and went down into the crater. Sawyer asked "What are you doing Kate. Searching for a nuke to save Sayid". Kate told Sawyer to shut up and Sawyer heard faintly Juliet's cry for help and rushed down over the shaft and screamed calling out to Juliet. Juliet said James and Kate was delighted to hear Juliet's voice. Sawyer, Kate, Jin and Mile immediately rushed to save Juliet. Lapidus, Charlie, Claire, and Sun talk about Illana's people and Locke's body. Ben goes out because Locke wants to talk to him, but Richard shows him Locke's real body which he is surprised to see. Sawyer, Kate, Jin, and Miles remove the rubble until they see a beam blocking them. Sawyer said "Jin. Flashlight". Jin gave Sawyer the flashlight and as he search Sawyer said that if they could move the beam, he think he can get down there. They attempt to pull it but can't and Sawyer tells Jin to get the chains from the van. Jin goes and finds Hurley, they take Sayid back to the Hatch and when Hurley asks about the hole in the wall, Jin knows where to go. They make it to the crater and Sawyer remarks to Kate that Juliet isn't making anymore noises. Kate tells him that she knows they're there and she is just resting. Sawyer then panics that Juliet is going to die and as Kate rushes over to help, Sawyer thinks about if Juliet dies, then he'll kill Kate.
They tie the chains around the beam and Kate asks Sawyer "You got it". Sawyer said to Jin that they were good with the chains. Sawyer told Jin to start pulling the beam and Jin started up the van and they pulled it away. Sawyer made his way down to Juliet and awakes her. Juliet asks where they are, and Sawyer tells her to not worry about it because she's fine and he's going to get her out of here. Juliet tells him that it didn't work because they're still on the island. Sawyer tells her that he can get her out when he gets things loose enough. Juliet said that she hit the bomb and Sawyer's still here. Sawyer asked why she hit the bomb and Juliet answered that she wanted him to be able to go home and never came it to the island. Juliet was upset that it didn't work, and Sawyer told her not to worry because she was going to be okay. He is going to get her out of the shaft and they're going home together. Kate called down to Sawyer. Illana's men take Ben inside the statue, and they try to shoot Locke, but he runs before turning into the black smoke and attacking the guards. Ben is surprised to see that Locke was actually the monster. Kate asks if Juliet's okay and Sawyer tells her that he's working on it. Sawyer freed Juliet and held her. Juliet remarked that they could get coffee sometime and Sawyer said that he had to get her out of here before Juliet said that they could go Dutch. Juliet asked for Sawyer to kiss her, and he accepted before kissing her. Juliet said that she has to tell him something important and he wanted to know but Juliet died before she could.
Sawyer cried before carrying her body out and Jin, Miles, and Hurley were at the top looking down at them. Sawyer turned to Kate in pure anger and told her "You did this".
As everyone else prepares to go to the Temple to save Sayid, Sawyer covers Juliet's body and prepares to bury her. Kate asks if Sawyer's going to the Temple, but he says that he's going to bury Juliet. Kate wants to help and he tells her to help Sayid. Sawyer asks for Miles help and Miles agrees. Kate says that she'll leave a trail for Sawyer to follow but he tells her that he isn't following anybody. Jin gives Sayid water and Hurley asks Jin and Kate "Are you guys ready",
Kate answers "Yeah, we're ready". Sawyer carries Juliet and leaves with Miles to bury Juliet and Kate, Jin, and Hurley take Sayid and go to the Temple. Hurley, Jin, Kate, and Sayid arrive at the Temple and Hurley remarks about the wall being big. Kate said, "I don't know how we're gonna get Sayid over".
Hurley responded "We're not. We're bringing him in through here". They carry Sayid down and make their way through until they are all taken one by one by the Others. They are taken to the Temple and Hurley remarks that they found the Temple. Dogen wants to know who they are and after they don't answer Cindy tells the Others that they were with her on Oceanic 815. Dogen wants them to be killed and Hurley tells them that Jacob sent them. Dogen asked what Hurley said and Hurley said that Jacob sent them and he said that they'd help Sayid. Dogen wants proof and Hurley tells them about the guitar case that Jacob gave him. Hurley thought that he technically didn't give it to him but told him to take it when it fell into his lap which it did so it was basically giving it to him without giving it to him. Dogen opened the guitar case and revealed and Ankh which he broke. Dogen read a list of the remaining candidates and Lennon asked for their names and they gave the Others their names.
Lennon asked about Sayid and Kate answered "Sayid Jarrah". Dogen accepted and let them in. Hurley wanted to know what the paper said and Lennon told him that it said that if Sayid died then they'd be in a lot of trouble. They led them to the spring and Lennon remarked that it wasn't clear and wanted to know what happened. Dogen cut his hand and put it in the water. Kate asked Hurley "What is he doing".
Hurley answered "Dude, I don't know".
Lennon asked who did this to Sayid and Kate said "It's my fault. I never shot him but I'm responsible for what happened to him". Lennon said that if they did this then there would be risks and asked if they understood. Kate said "I understand. Do what you have to do. You save Ben. You can save Sayid". The Others placed Sayid in the pull and his head under the water. Hurley asked if unconscious people could hold their breath and Kate answered, "I don't know". Sayid began to thrash, and Kate said to Dogen "I think you can let him up now". Jin asked what they were waiting for and Kate screamed that it was enough. Kate tried to attack Dogen and said "Let him up" but Dogen grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Kate was moved by the Others and Hurley said that they were not saving him but drowning him. Sayid stopped thrashing and the Others stopped forcing him down. The sand in the hourglass ran out and Dogen told them to pull Sayid up. They carried Sayid out and Dogen checked on Sayid and saw that he was dead. Lennon told them all that Sayid was dead. Kate knew that if Jack was here then he would try to give Sayid CPR despite Sayid not coming back and knew it was one of things she loved most about him. They wait in the pool room with Sayid's body when Cindy comes in with Zack and Emma and bring them food. The Others bring in an unconscious Sawyer and Miles. Kate wants to know what happened and Miles tells them that the Others attacked them, and Sawyer took four of them out before being knocked out by a rock. Kate went to check on Sawyer. Lennon wanted Hurley to come with him and Hurley goes with him to Dogen and Dogen wants to know what Jacob told him. Hurley answers that Jacob told him to come here and they'd save Sayid. Lennon tells Hurley that Sayid was beyond saving. Hurley realised that Lennon wasn't translating to Dogen and that Dogen understands him. Dogen tells Hurley that he doesn't like the way English tastes on his tongue. Dogen wants to know when Jacob's arriving at the Temple and Hurley tells them that Jacob is dead. Dogen and Lennon are shocked by this, and Hurley asks if they didn't know. The Other sounded the alarm and prepared for the monsters arrival and alerted all of the Others on the island by sending up flares. The Others then barricaded the doors and set up ash lines. Hurley remarked that they weren't getting out of here and Lennon said that it wasn't to keep them in. It was to keep the monster out. Ben realises that the man he was following is the monster and they talk about that and the murder of John Locke. Hurley says goodbye to Sayid and tells him that if he ever wants to talk, he's around. Miles tries to listen to Sayid and Hurley asks what he's hearing but Miles answers that he hears nothing. Kate tend to Sawyer and after he awakes, he asks where they are. Sawyer asked if they got caught by the Other again. Kate told him that this was correct but this time they were protecting them. Sawyer remarked that of course they were. Kate asked if he was all right and as he felt his head wound Kate said "I'm so sorry. I'm so very sorry".
Sawyer remarks "I was gonna kill you, Kate. That's why I really wanted you to stay away. So, I wouldn't throttle you to death, but now, now I don't want that. I want you to stay here, stay alive. Because you deserve to suffer on this rock just like the rest of us".
The monster exits and after mention chains to Richard, Richard realises who he is, and the monster beats him up before taking him. Leaving behind everyone stunned at what they are seeing and a scared Aaron hiding behind Claire.
Sayid awoke and Hurley noticed this and called out "Dudes". Everyone turned in shock to see Sayid awake. Sayid asked what happened.
