"WE KNOW YOU ARE IN THIS SUBURBAN HOME. SURRRENDER NOW!" A lizard barked throw a megaphone.
"Sir, how do you know she isn't plotting something in there?" A shorter, lanky Lizard mutant asked.
"There's nothing she can do that we aren't already aware of. Catching her will be a piece of cake".
Inside the house, Gwen was pacing back and forth, "Sh, we are in deep sh*! How do we get out of here?" Gwen panicked. Ami sighed a bit. Then turned the blonde to face to make eye contact.
"We proceed with my plan anyway, starting with an escape plan".
Gwen wanted to go fight the troop, but she also knew Ami was thinking logically and wisely. She had to trust her.
Outside
"It's been a quiet five minutes Sir".
"I know, I was also counting. That might mean she's up to something. Lieutenant Forty-Two, check the backyard area—"
Ghost Spider jumped out one of the upper windows and webbed every lizard mutant into a cocoon after yanking away the weapons in their hands. As she landed on one of their vehicles she pulled out a GPS device from the radio installment. One lizard was mumbling something in shock, realizing what the spider was doing.
Then once all reptilian enforcers were neutralized, the spider whistled, and a car was driven out of the garage. Ghost Spider made a high backflip, landing on the car flawlessly. The car drove off on the road ahead of the neighborhood.
During the car ride, Gwen laughed triumphantly, "The look on their scaly faces right?!"
"Interesting how you didn't take them out in a lethal method", Ami stated. Gwen just scoffed.
"Well, I don't see a reason why I should've killed them. And besides, you are a genius for coming up with that diversion".
Ami gave a half smile. "That kind of idea is only expected from heroes who were hunted down once".
"Yeah, I've been in that dance", Gwen agreed. Ami frowned at that confession, looking at her passenger.
"You were hunted down? For what?"
Gwen tensed as if Ami had asked for an uncomfortable topic. Ami mentally cursed for asking, so she changed the subject. "Which enemy is the nearest on the GPS?"
Gwen scrolled a bit. "Ah s, someone who is one of the most annoying a*h, his name is 'Spot', huge douche".
Ami couldn't cover her mouth fast enough to stop her laughter. Gwen made a mixture of a laugh and a sigh. "Right? The bad guys just suck at coming up with codenames".
Gwen focused on the route, "Take the next right, he's in Bert Avenue".
Ami felt like asking what her life was normally like in this dimension. Her friendships, family, and how she goes about her day with a public identity. She decided to keep that to herself, which might be another uncomfortable question she'd regret asking.
Ohnn, a man made out of dark matter, was in his hideout with plastic bags of food. "Can't believe I still need to eat food. How can I get some grub while making sure those ugly geckos don't see me?"
Then some invisible force punched him up the chin, so hard that he lost consciousness. Ghost Spider reappeared before him. White Fox came in from the back door. She made an impressed smirk. "Are all your adversaries this easy to beat?"
"Not…always, he didn't even know I had a camouflage power", Ghost Spider answered proudly while blowing imaginary dust from her fingertips.
"That's a very useful power". White Fox stated in fact, then giggled as she sniffed a scent from the spider.
"What?"
"Oh…nothing. Let's tie him up".
Ghost Spider clapped her hands together into eager rubbing. "Aw yeah! The Good Cop, Bad Cop routine".
Ten Minutes Later
Ghost Spider had her palms on each cheek, sitting on a stool with her left leg tapping the ground anxiously. White Fox thought distracted her from the boredom of waiting.
"So, what are his superpowers?"
"He creates portals in the form of pitch-black spots. Kind of like teleportation in a way".
The Kumiho stared at the villain with interest. "He could be useful. Okay, let's wake him up".
Ghost Spider was already upside down and hanging next to the man. She held out her hand to him as if she was going to poke him. Instead, she slapped him. He gasped in shock from the hit, but he had regained full consciousness.
"Wake up!"
"What—YOU! Can I get a f* break?"
"Shut it and listen, Fox, tell him why we're here" Ghost Spider yelled then glanced at her partner.
"You are being hunted down, right? Well so is Ghost Spider".
Spot deadpanned. "No s, you stupid—Ow!" Ghost Spider flicked him before he could finish his snarky retort.
"Since we are all being hunted down, that means we share a common enemy. So, we need to work together and end this dystopian hell".
Spot just laughed harshly, "Work with her? The spider freak?" Ghost Spider had an expression that was hard to depict as she was faced upside down.
"Dude, do you have other options?" She said as she pointed at a boarded-up window with alert sounds and an amped voice yelling out a hunt.
"She's right. If you did have other options then you wouldn't be hiding in a warehouse".
"Yeah, warehouses are the second 'most cliché' hiding places", Ghost Spider added with a pointed finger pointing below (above).
"Choose, spend the rest of your life in hiding OR helps us end this hellish tyrannical colonist".
Spot stared at White Fox for a second then sighed, "What do you need me for?"
Ghost Spider was now face to face (very close) and had a normal mask expression. "For starters, you can tell us everything you know about this whole tyranny, and teleport us to wherever we need to be depending on your knowledge of this mess".
Spot sighed in defeat. "Okay! I'll help. But I won't take you right into her front porch. She has eyes everywhere and—"
"She?" Ghost Spider made an intrigued expression. "Who is it?"
"She rewrote this world once and you stopped her".
Ghost Spider flipped and stood on the ground in a normal standing position. "Don't tell me it's…"
"Finale!"
A blue-skinned woman in a popstar outfit and star sunglasses groaned. "Oh Matthew", she frowned as a Lizard man called out for her. "You came back, without Gwen Stacy I see?"
"She is very elusive and she escaped, but—"
"But what? I gave you one simple task, and you immediately failed".
"She took the GPS signal!"
Finale hummed, "She's looking for her loved ones already?" She laughed hard at the thought. "Make sure there is a guard by all houses that her loved ones lived in".
A goblin spoke up, "Uh, shouldn't we tell her that her loved ones are—"
"No, it'll be more satisfying if she finds out the hard way".
