OMG, I can't believe that this is getting closer to the end of this compilation! At the point that I am typing this, I have handwritten a total of 137 of the 150 prompts for this series. So, including the interludes and this one-shot, I have posted a total of 130 chapters for this series! Thank you all so much as you continue to keep reading; I appreciate you all!
Also, this is not that long before the last interlude I posted, "Amazon Joins."
The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "How are you feeling?"
"I think you broke my fingers."
"Better your finger than your face."
Jacoba sighed as she finished tying her work-out shoes and stood, looking around. Today would be her first official training session since Toll had thrown her into a mat, accidentally breaking her left wrist and bruising some of her ribs. Since then, Barney and Lee Christmas had told her to watch as the rest of the team trained, so that she could see how the different people fought. Most of the time, however, Jacoba had decided to meditate (sometimes with her eyes open to freak them out from time to time), so that she couldn't do anything that she'd regret later.
"J.D." She looked over to see Lee standing next to her with his arms crossed. "Are you ready to train?"
She scoffed and rolled her eyes as she reached up and began to stretch out her back. "Do I really have a choice?" She smirked as the knife specialist rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, Christmas. I think you will be a bit surprised. So, let's get to it." Jacoba looped her arm through Lee's and led him out into the hanger's gym.

An hour and a half later, Jacoba sat down heavily on the mat. It had definitely been a while since she had trained, but it had still felt good to get onto the mats again. Sighing, she laid back as she felt Lee sit down next to her.
"Alright, J.D. How are you feeling now?"
Jacoba scoffed as she sat back up and poked the knife specialist in his bicep with her right hand. Then, she raised her left hand for him to see. "To tell the truth, I think that you may have broken my fingers again."
He scoffed, grabbing her left wrist before she could move it away from him, inspecting it before he let it go. "You know, it's better your fingers than your face, right?"
"Christmas."
Lee chuckled as he stood up, turning and holing out his right hand in order to help her up. "Don't worry, woman. Your hand is just fine, maybe just ice it if you're worried."
Taking his offered hand, Jacoba jumped up, shaking her head at his obvious amusement. "Nah, I'm not worried about my hand; it'll heal fine." She studied his face for a minute before she spoke once again. "Do you know if Barn is in today?"
"He should be. Why?"
Jacoba just smiled and patter the Brit on his shoulder. "Just wondering. I've got a couple of things I need to talk to him about that have been on my mind. See ya later, man."
Lee rolled his eyes as the woman began to walk away. He wondered briefly as wo what ideas that she'd gotten into her head, but just shook it off. If he needed to know, she'd tell him and not before. All he could do now was wait and see.
