The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "People don't understand that I don't know how not to walk around like I own every place I go to."

It had been a little while since this had happened to her. The team had taken a job (not from either Church or Bonaparte for once) and it had actually been going fairly well. That is, until that moment.

Jacoba had been on infiltration again, this time with Lee as her partner. They had entered the facility rather quickly and gotten to the data easily enough. The problem arose on their way out. One of the workers had insisted on stopping Jacoba, having thought that she was a new hire for the company. Before they could get away from him, a group of men ran into the room, yelling for everyone to get down. Jacoba and Lee both dove into a room just off of where they were; one of the only rooms that didn't have a whole wall of windows into the main area, as it were.

What they didn't realize until they were in there was that the main facility managers were meeting in there. So, while Lee locked the door and turned off the lights, Jacoba quickly (and quietly) caught the managers up on what was happening out in the main area. In doing this, she was also able to update the remaining Expendable team members via comms, as they were waiting in strategic places around the outside of the building. She heard hums of acknowledgment over comms as those in the room with her started to complain. Luckily, she and Lee were able to get them to quiet down before shepherding them to the wall farthest from the door.

As they all settled down, the two Expendables went back over to the door. Both knew that they were a bit limited on what they would be able to do, since they had potential witnesses in the room and covers to not blow. Jacoba furrowed her brow as she heard two of the men who'd rushed in talking just outside the door.

"Dude, I wish the boss would let you lead us for once."

"Why?"

"Because you can get people in line so easily!"

"Dude, you people just don't understand."

"Understand what?"

"People don't understand that I don't know how to not walk around like I own every place I go to." Jacoba rolled her eyes as she looked around in order to (maybe) find a way out. She was just looking out the window when the man spoke again. "Now, come on, man, there's no one around this area. And the boss has a clear plan for this. Let's go."

As they heard retreating footsteps, Jacoba felt Lee's eyes on her. He spoke almost under his breath. "You got a plan, Amazon?"

She scoffed as she continued looking out the window. "I've got a couple ideas. But I think that our boss has a better one."

They heard Barney scoff. "Not sure if it's better, but it will work for you. Head out."
