Alphys Updated Status: Well I know she's unbeatable, I'll just ask her about it later.
Seeing that message Frisk couldn't help but smile knowing how close Alphys and Undyne were and how close they usually ended up being when they got to the surface. With that thought in mind she decided to slowly continue heading through Hotland as she every so often got another update from Alphys.
Alphys Updated Status: For now, I have to call up the human and guide her.
Seeing that one Frisk couldn't help but smile slightly knowing just how much Alphys really wanted to help and while she might have set up some traps like the quiz show with Mettaton and while it was kind of scary it was also fun and she had a good time… plus if everything worked out the two of them would be really good friends so it was perfect.
With that thought and a small smile she continued as she walked along some conveyor belts and closed her eyes in thought only to frown slightly. "I hope you're ok… and when this is all over, I can do something to make up for what you must be going through. It was so hard when I had to do it but… hopefully it's finally going to be over soon."
Alphys Updated Status: Going to call them in a minute.
Hearing that Frisk smiled as she continued along the path, finding another conveyor belt as she closed her eyes in thought trying to recall what the first puzzle Mettaton was going to give her. 'Was it the news report, or the cooking show? I don't think it was the puzzle from Snowdin though.'
As she continued along the path, she soon found herself at a familiar sight, the vents connected to the Core. Smiling softly, she slowly approached one of the vents as she stepped onto it and the steam flowing out of the vent sent her flying across a short gap as she shuddered a bit. "I forgot how hot the steam was, but the ice makes it not burn at least."
Continuing along the path while using the vents to get farther through Hotland Frisk paused briefly as she looked up at the surface, whatever it was that kept forcing them to reset the timeline over and over… whatever was keeping them from their happy ending, she was determined to stop it one way or another… and hopefully the Sans from this current timeline would be willing to forgive her for everything she did to free them. With a small smile she continued along the path before her phone buzzed again and she took another look.
Alphys Updated Status: Oh my god, I've had my claw over the last digit for five minutes. I'm just going to do it! I'm just going to call!
Frisk took a few more steps before the phone started to ring only for someone to hang up immediately as she frowned knowing that Alphys was extremely nervous about this and what she was hiding under her lab, but hopefully she'd be able to help. As she continued along the path Frisk soon found herself staring at a group of lasers as her phone rang again but this time she managed to answer. "Hello?"
"Hello, Frisk?" Alphys asked uncertainly. "You… you're probably looking at a bunch of lasers by now… the blue ones should pass through you if you stay still, and the orange ones… you can move through them and be ok."
"Ok, thank you for letting me know Alphys." Frisk smiled. "I really appreciate your help."
"Huh? Oh… you're welcome. I'll try to help you out as much as I can from here." Alphys offered. "Do… don't worry, everything is under control."
Frisk smiled hearing that as Alphys hung up the phone and she looked at the lasers before taking a slow breath as she walked through the orange ones and let the blue ones pass by while she stayed completely still, and she managed to get past them.
Alphys Updated Status: Oh my god! I did it, and the human thanked me! I haven't been shaking this badly since Undyne called to ask about the weather.
Alphys Updated Status: Wait a second, there is no weather in the Underground… why did she call!?
Frisk couldn't help herself but smile at how Alphys was reacting, she knew that Undyne and Alphys would be happy together on the surface but right now she had to make sure they were all freed, not just from the Underground but also from whatever it was that was resetting once they got there. With that thought in mind and the feeling of Determination in her SOUL she continued along the path past the lasers before reaching more of the vents as her phone started to ring again.
"He… hello, Frisk?" Alphys asked again. "I… need to tell you something."
"Really, what is it Alphys?" Frisk asked curiously hearing that while smiling slightly.
"The… there's a door to the north but, it won't open unless you solve puzzles to the east and west first." Alphys explained. "I think you should try and solve the puzzle to the east first."
"The east, ok thanks for letting me know Alphys. I really appreciate that." Frisk smiled turning to head to the eastern puzzle.
"Oh… you're welcome, I'm just trying to help out if I can." Alphys admitted. "The puzzles… shouldn't be that difficult. You should be able to solve them without much trouble."
Smiling Frisk hung up the phone as she saw two monsters, a green monster in a suit and a completely black monster with sunglasses drinking some coffee near an open door as she smiled and walked over to them. "Hi."
"Oh hi, you trying to get to work too?" the green monster asked. "The way is blocked so I was able to take a break to catch Mettaton's show, that human he quizzed looked almost lifelike it was amazing."
"Yeah, but it makes sense." The sunglass wearing monster agreed. "Mettaton is the biggest star in the Underground, he must have at least… three dozen members in his fan club."
"Wow, that's a lot… he must be amazing." Frisk smiled.
"He is, I can't wait for his next show." The sunglass wearing monster grinned as Frisk smiled only to blink as her phone showed another update from Alphys.
Alphys Updated Status: Oh, should I have told the human how the puzzle works? I guess it wouldn't be very fun if I did.
Frisk smiled at that before she walked into a nearby room where there was a puzzle with two triangular ships and the goal was to reposition blocks so you could fire a shot to the enemy ship.
Looking at the puzzle Frisk eventually managed to solve it as she smiled firing the shot as the puzzle turned green and said congratulations as she paused and looked at her phone before getting an idea as she checked her phone before trying something.
Frisk Updated Status: The puzzles down here are all a lot of fun, I like working on them and trying to figure out the solutions.
Not long after she posted that she got a thumbs up reaction from Alphys as she smiled seeing that and headed back to the western puzzle room where she soon encountered what looked like two female monsters in school uniforms, one made of green fire and the other with purple skin and skateboard, only there was a blue laser blocking her way forward as her phone started to ring again.
"Hello, it's Alphys again." Alphys mentioned. "I don't think you can get past that blue laser, but don't worry… as the royal scientist of the Underground I have a few tricks up my sleeve to deal with that from here."
"Really, that would be a huge help Alphys, thank you so much." Frisk smiled.
"O… oh, it's the least I can do Frisk, I'll just hack into the Hotland laser database and turn that one off." Alphys mentioned as the laser turned itself off. "Did that work?"
"Yeah, it did. Thanks." Frisk smiled.
"Oh… you're welcome Frisk, don't worry… if you need any help on your journey I'll be here helping out in any way I can." Alphys mentioned before hanging up as Frisk took another step before her phone buzzed again.
Alphys Updated Status: Oh my god! This is really happening! I can't believe it… I'm actually… I mean I'm going to… oh wow!
Frisk smiled as she walked over to the two female monsters and the one made of green fire noticed her.
"Huh, oh wow that laser is finally gone. I guess that means we can…" the green fire monster started only to pause. "Well… I mean, we might just stay here, we can pretend the laser is still there so we can watch Mettaton instead of going to school."
"I know, we were just hanging out around here when the puzzles reactivated suddenly. It was amazing, they'll probably cancel school after this anyway." the monster with the skateboard agreed.
Smiling Frisk entered the nearby room and found a similar puzzle to the one she'd solved before and after looking at it for a few minutes she managed to figure out how to position the blocks to fire her shot and solve the puzzle. With a smile she left the room as she saw the two monster schoolgirls looking at something together as she turned to head back before noticing a door that had two glowing symbols on it that slowly opened as she approached it only to notice more of the vents along with part of the floor that looked different, almost like a set as she widened her eyes recalling what was coming, it was time for the cooking show.
Walking along the path and using the vents to continue she reached a tile floor as the area darkened until Frisk couldn't see a thing, but her phone started to ring. "Hello?"
"He… hello Frisk? It looks like it's kind of dark where you are." Alphys mentioned anxiously. "But… don't worry, I'll turn the lights on for you."
Frisk smiled as the lights turned on and just like she expected she was in the middle of a kitchen with some lights and cameras nearby.
"Oh… oh no…" Alphys shuddered as Mettaton slowly rose from behind the counter with a chef's hat on his head.
"OHHHH YES!" Mettaton mentioned eagerly. "Welcome beauties, to the Underground's premier cooking show, cooking with a killer robot!"
Frisk blinked as a title card magically appeared as she blinked, she knew that happened every time but at the same time she'd never actually considered how it appeared like that, maybe Alphys set it up to help with Mettaton's performance? When this was all over and they were finally on the surface for good she should ask about how they did it though right now she had to put on a good show.
"Pre-heat your ovens, because we've got a very special recipe for you today!" Mettaton told the cameras. "We're going to be making…"
He paused for dramatic effect as the cameras zoomed in on him.
"A cake!" Mettaton revealed enthusiastically before he turned and gestured to Frisk. "As you can see, my wonderful assistant will go ahead and get the ingredients so we can get started. Give her a big round of applause everyone."
Frisk blushed slightly as she waved to the camera before turning to Mettaton as she gave the robot a small smile "What do you need me to get for the cake?"
(Frisk has begun traveling through Hotland and reached Mettaton's cooking show and is now going to help him make a special cake for the residents of the Underground. Next chapter Frisk will continue traveling through the Underground and Sans will continue his rampage through the Underground to try and set another timeline… the last timeline, free for good.
