"I'll go first Yugi and I'll begin by placing one monster face down on the field." the spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked. "Then I'll set one card to end my turn."

"Then it's my move." Yugi replied drawing his card only to blink. "What?"

"Is something wrong, perhaps you drew a card that won't help you?" the spirit of the Millennium Ring inquired as Chara looked only to notice Yugi somehow drew Toriel Dreemurr, which shouldn't have been in his deck.

"What's going on, why is mom in Yugi's deck?" she questioned, glaring at the spirit of the Millennium Ring. "What did you do?"

"Why don't you have him play that card and find out for yourselves?" the spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked.

Looking at the card Yugi frowned. "I'll set two cards facedown and then I'll summon Toriel Dreemurr in attack position."

As Yugi said that he placed down the card and Toriel appeared only she blinked. "Huh, my child, where are you?"

"Mom?" Chara asked stunned before glaring at the spirit of the Millennium Ring. "What did you do!?"

"I simply moved her soul into that card, of course should she be destroyed well… I think you can figure out what will happen to her." the spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked. "Not that you need to worry as you'll be joining your friends in the Shadow Realm soon enough."

Hearing that Chara's eyes widened as she glared at the spirit of the Millennium Ring and clenching her fists. "If you do anything to mom, I promise…"

"Don't worry, I won't let your family or any of our friends be banished to the Shadow Realm." Yugi told her before turning to the duel. "Toriel, please trust me that I will help you and the others."
Hearing that Toriel looked up to see the more mature expression on Yugi's face as she nodded and turned to the spirit of the Millennium Ring and his own cards.

"Well, are you going to attack me or are you going to let your friends wander for eternity in the darkness of the Shadow Realm?" the spirit of the Millennium Ring taunted.

Yugi frowned hearing that but looked at his hand. "Alright, if that's what you want, I'll attack your facedown monster with Toriel Dreemurr!"

Toriel formed a small fireball in her hand before throwing it at the spirit of the Millennium Ring's set monster as it was revealed to be a large insect creature that cried out as it was set on fire before jumping at Toriel and grabbing her causing them both to shatter.

"MOM!" Chara cried in horror seeing that.

"You should learn to be more cautious Yugi, that attack triggered the special ability of my Man-Eater Bug an ability that destroys any monster once he's flipped face-up." the spirit of the Millennium Ring revealed. "Which means this poor girl's mother has been sent to the graveyard."

Yugi frowned. "Not for long, I play the spell Monster Reincarnation! By sending one card to the graveyard, I can return Toriel to my hand."

The spirit of the Millennium Ring frowned slightly only to smirk seeing the card that Yugi had discarded to the graveyard. "Well, you managed to protect her soul from the Shadow Realm for the moment but that won't last for very long."

"We'll see." Yugi frowned ending his turn.

"Then it's my turn once more." the spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked drawing his card. "This defensive game is getting a bit boring, so I'll go on the initiative this turn by calling on my Earl of Demise in attack position. Next, I'll reveal my facedown card Fatal Abacus now whenever a monster on the field is sent to the graveyard its controller takes 500 points of damage."

Chara blinked hearing that. "Wait, but doesn't that mean you'll take damage if your monster is destroyed?"

The spirit of the Millennium Ring only smirked hearing that. "It does, however that won't matter and soon enough I'll defeat Yugi in this duel and claim his Millennium Puzzle for myself. Now, I'll place this card facedown to end my move."

Yugi frowned at that as he drew his card and smiled. "Your Earl of Demise is powerful, but it pales in comparison to Gaia the Fierce Knight!"

Kaiba frowned as he followed the man in the suit through the dungeon in Pegasus's castle only to narrow his eyes. "We've been walking for a pretty long time; you better not be trying to pull any tricks."

"Of course not, this is the fastest way for you to get to Mokuba." the man in the suit told Kaiba with a smirk. "If you didn't have me to show you the way though, you could get lost down here for years and then you'd never find your brother."

"For your sake, you'd better not be lying to me. If anything's happened to my little brother…" Kaiba started only for the man in the suit to raise his arms defensively.

"Believe me, I know better than to lie to you in this situation Kaiba." the man in the suit admitted as they turned down another empty hall full of cells.

Kaiba narrowed his eyes hearing that but continued following the man in the suit only for him to suddenly press a button with his foot causing an alarm to sound. Hearing that Kaiba's eyes widened as he shoved him aside and ran down the halls.

"Your new monster is indeed more powerful than mine Yugi but are you certain summoning it was the correct move?" the spirit of the Millennium Ring taunted. "You remember what will happen should you lose this duel."

"I remember." Yugi frowned. "Gaia attack his Earl of Demise!"

Gaia let out a battle cry before charging towards the Earl of Demise and impaling him on one of his lances destroying him.

(Yugi's battle with the Spirit of the Millennium Ring has begun and he and Chara have learned that their friends and family have been sealed inside cards. Next chapter the duel will continue, and Kaiba will encounter Pegasus. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
