Mettaton could hardly believe what Frisk was saying. Every single Monster in the Underground, himself included, wanted nothing more than for King Asgore to break the barrier and set them all free but this… if what Frisk was saying was true the Surface was far worse than their lives Underground. "Frisk… how have you felt since you fell into the Underground? You mentioned a scary flower but… has everyone down here made up for that poor first impression?"

Looking up at Mettaton Frisk couldn't help but smile a bit. "Yes, the flower was scary, but… everyone else has been so nice… I really like being here with all of you but…"

"You want to see your sister again, even knowing what that means. You're a kind and mature young girl." Mettaton mentioned taking her hand gently. "I don't know exactly what's going to happen if you give King Asgore your SOUL and he uses it to break the barrier, but if it means anything everyone down here… what you're doing means more to us than you can possibly imagine."

That caused Frisk to start to tear up again as she embraced the robot and started to just cry in his arms as the cameras slowly faded.

At the MTT Resort Toriel was trying and failing to wipe away her tears listening to what Frisk was saying and how despite everything she and the other Monsters were doing her heart was so broken that she only wanted to meet Asgore and end her own life.

"YOUR MAJESTY, ARE YOU OK?" Papyrus asked seeing that as he walked over to embrace her gently.

"I… I don't know." Toriel admitted nervously as she frowned. "We need to speak with Asgore."

"that sounds like a plan, but are you sure you're up to talking with him about… well what happened?" Sans asked causing Toriel to sadly close her eyes with a nod. "right, well we're all right behind you."

Undyne glanced at the screen again where she'd just witnessed Mettaton interview the last human and she could tell this human was suffering… maybe king Asgore could ease her pain and if nothing else she should be reunited with her older sister and free them at the same time… it would make everyone happy after all.
"UNDYNE, ARE YOU COMING WITH US?" Papyrus asked turning to her. "SANS AND HER MAJESTY ARE HEADING TO SEE THE KING."

Hearing that Undyne nodded. "Yeah, I'm right behind you Papyrus."

Walking out she couldn't help but frown as she wondered just what the surface was like if someone like Frisk and her sister would choose to come and be trapped in the Underground.

After giving Frisk a few minutes to cry and get her emotions back under control Mettaton gave her one more gentle hug as the two of them continued traveling through Hotland only for Frisk to pause and look down quietly.

"Frisk, is something bothering you darling?" Mettaton inquired curiously. "Do you want to talk, no cameras just you and me."

"… Will it hurt?" Frisk asked hesitantly. "Having my SOUL taken away by King Asgore?"

Hearing that Mettaton could only look up thoughtfully as he gently shook his head before turning back to her.

"I'm going to be honest; I have no idea if it hurts or not… I know that fighting hurts… it hurts humans or monsters. That's not what you're going to be doing though." he explained to her. "You're just planning on giving your SOUL to him so that we can all be free, and you can be with your big sister again, maybe… maybe it will be painless, kind of like going to sleep. I don't know."

Hearing that Frisk slowly nodded as the two of them got into another elevator and rode up together as they slowly continued making their way to King Asgore, though she couldn't help but notice a spider girl having a bake sale.

"Hello darling, would you like to purchase anything? All proceeds go to helping the spiders in the Ruins." The spider girl explained.

"Spiders in the ruins… oh I remember… they had a bake sale too; I bought a spider donut from them." Frisk smiled. "I hope that helped a little bit."

The spider girl blinked hearing that. "You already donated to our cause, wait, are you the human? Frisk?"

Frisk flinched slightly only for the spider girl to frown and walk over before gently embracing her. "I caught a bit of Mettaton's interview with you and wanted to thank you. What you're doing won't just help Monsters, but all the poor spiders trapped Underground will be free too."

Feeling that Frisk's eyes widened slightly as she gently returned the hug only for Muffet to walk over and take another spider donut as she gently gave it to her. "Huh, but I didn't pay for this."

"Not with money, but you're paying a huge price… and this is the least I can do for you to say thank you." Muffet pointed out gently.

"are you sure you're going to be ok seeing him?" Sans asked Toriel as she was looking at a row of coffins outside of the throne room, each one marked with a different colored SOUL representing the seven children who had already died… including her first adopted child and Frisk's older sister Chara.

"I don't know, it's been far too long since I've spoken with Asgore." Toriel admitted as she gently put a hand on one of the coffins. "But this isn't for me, this is for Frisk… I need to speak with him no matter how painful it is."

"DO NOT WORRY YOUR HIGHNESS, WE ARE ALL RIGHT BEHIND YOU!" Papyrus declared as he walked over and gently hugged Toriel.

"Thank you Papyrus, that means a lot to hear you say that." Toriel smiled before taking a breath as the four of them entered the throne room where a figure in a cloak was happily watering some flowers.

(Frisk has met another resident of the Underground, the spider girl Muffet, and is slowly making her way closer to King Asgore, unaware of the confrontation she is about to have with Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne. Next chapter the four of them will speak with Asgore and some details about Chara will be revealed. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
