20XX August 2nd
Westside Island
Standing inside a large cargo plane, Sonic and Amy are standing together with a Polikarpov I-153 as the duo are looking behind.
"Okay, you two, this is your return to fighting against Dr. Robotnik. He's more dangerous by the looks of it, so I need you two to be careful when facing him." Madonna calls while approaching Sonic and Amy and hands over the backpacks.
"Don't worry, Miss Garnet, we'll stop the Death Egg from destroying earth. Me and Sonic will do our best." Amy nods while tossing the backpack into the plane.
"Yeah. So relax, Donna, we got this!" Sonic grins while pointing and then turns around while standing by Amy's side.
As the cargo door opens, a strong wind is blowing as both hedgehogs' quills as well as Amy's bangs are waving by a force of wind, even Madonna's hair is being blown.
"Don't forget! We're at the Kingdom of Acorn!" Madonna yelled.
Sonic and Amy hop on a plane together as Sonic is the pilot while pulling leathers and pressing buttons as he and Amy are seeing a plane's propeller spin, making them put on the pilot's goggles.
"Bye, Miss Garnet!" Amy waves while the plane starts to move.
"We have a liftoff!" Sonic calls out as the plane finally leaves the cargo plane, making the Polikarpov I-153 fall from the sky as Sonic attempts to control the vehicle.
"Sonic? Is this going to work?" Amy asks while leaning forward behind Sonic.
"It will. And there!" Sonic finally takes control of the plane as the plane starts to lift itself up, albeit struggling to keep the blade consistently spinning while Sonic takes the plane to somewhere safe.
Amy shrieks while Sonic grunts as the plane falls while not vertically, it's going down with a bit of gliding control with Sonic looking around Westside Island.
"Looks like we're finding a corner! Hang tight!" Sonic shouts while diving down as Amy screams.
With the plane hitting the trees, Sonic and Amy come across the beach as Sonic goes down as hard as he could without harming one another.
Finally CRASH!
"Ow…" Amy moans while rubbing her head.
"Ugh… This is Sonic. We finally made it." Sonic speaks out while getting off the plane as he and Amy land on the ground together.
Finally, their adventure begins at the beach as they'll head to the forest.
"Ready?" Sonic asked.
"Yeah. Let's go." Amy nods and then runs along with Sonic.
20XX August 4th
Emerald Town
In a peaceful town, many furry creatures are marching together as they play with each other.
A town where some kids escaped to.
Leaving the house, Tekno the Canary bows to a fox woman as she sees a purple haired, yellow furred anthropomorphic mongoose woman walking past with a suitcase with G.U.N.'s emblem with a cross as a sign of medical duties.
In a bedroom, snoozing is an orange furred twin tailed anthropomorphic fox boy who has some tools on his bed.
Shaking the fox boy's shoulder, a bespectacled brown and black furred anthropomorphic lynx girl also pulls the blanket as the anthropomorphic fox boy moans and opens his eyes.
"Mmn… Morning, Nicole." A fox boy yawns while sitting up and then rubs his eyes.
"Rosemary called, Miles. Breakfast is…" Nicole cuts herself off as she collapses, leading to Miles catching her and then lifts her up.
"Hey. Calm down, Nicole. I know mom called. Let's go get some breakfast." Miles Prower said while letting Nicole stand and walk out of the bedroom full of tools and gadgets.
In the dining room, an auburn hair, light brown furred fox woman, Rosemary Prower, prepares bacon, eggs and beans on different plates.
In the living room, the mongoose woman sits at the table as she waits.
Miles and Nicole appear in the living room together as the mongoose smiles.
"Hello, Miles, Nicole. It seems your mother is waiting for you."
"Morning, Miss Isabella." Nicole bows while approaching Isabella the Mongoose.
"Hey, Miss Isabella. So I see Nicole needs checking up again, huh?" Miles asks while walking by.
"Of course. We'll be there in a few minutes." Isabella said while bringing out a suitcase, revealing the medication tools for her to give to Nicole.
"Sure thing." Miles enters the dining room as he waits for Isabella and Nicole.
"Everyday… This poor girl is still pushing herself for her life." Rosemary sighs, lamenting the fact that Nicole is suffering Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
"Yeah. I still believe Nicole will get better." Miles said with confidence in his face.
Rosemary knows how Miles is sometimes naive with his beliefs, thinking an incurable disease is curable, even G.U.N. struggles to aid a single lynx that is living with the Prower family.
The saddest thing is, he was born with 2 tails as his parents have a single one.
Afterwards, Nicole and Isabella entered the dining room while taking a seat.
"Nicole is doing better than before and that's not saying much. Listen, Rosemary, Charles and Chuck are working on making a cure for Nicole. We just need some time." Isabella knows it's possible to save Nicole, even trying to support one girl from Emerald Town.
"I know, but it's impossible. Don't you think you're going a bit too deep into old research." Rosemary asks.
"Professor Gerald Robotnik's journal, page 7: 'It has been a... Trying time, to say the least. Redacted was diagnosed with Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome. There is no cure. Yet. I pulled some strings and had her brought aboard the ARK for treatment and assessment. The low gravity environment should help keep her symptoms manageable.' We don't have low gravity, but we do know that keeping her indoors, especially giving her a parasol when outside is an alternative, albeit not a good one." Isabella explained.
"If only her parents are still alive…" Rosemary mutters as she takes a bite of bacon.
"I know. But unfortunately man and animal can't live on forever." Isabella concludes.
As the family and a guest eat together, Miles turns around as the TV is showing an anthropomorphic black cat in a purple suit reporting the Death Egg in construction.
[This is Sasha the Cat speaking in News 11, we have found reports that a mad scientist in the name of Dr. Eggman, found in Metropolis building something this massive as it's described to be a Death Egg. Over to you, Soar.] Sasha the Cat raises her hand as the screen cuts to a white and turquoise feathered anthropomorphic Eagle in a pink polo shirt.
[Thank you, Sasha. I am here with Dr. Eggman, seeing as he develops the great Death Egg. So, doctor, anything you have to say once you fly into space?] Soar the Eagle asks while raising his microphone near a censored eyes Eggman as Eggman exclaimed.
[What is this!? Some kind of a TV show!? Get that camera out of my face!] Eggman shouts while pushing the camera away from him.
Slamming the table, Isabella growls as she recognises the appearance and what he's doing recently.
"That damn old man! How dare he show his face and ruin other people's lives! That traitor should give it up and rot in hell!" Isabella snarls, showing animosity towards Eggman.
"Isabella, calm down. You're scaring the kids." Rosemary warned while hugging both Miles and Nicole.
This stops Isabella as she lowers her head, feeling agitated after acknowledging Eggman's bad blood between him and the G.U.N.
"Sorry. We were partners and I still can't get over the betrayal he caused." Isabella sighs while holding her head as her elbows are on the table.
"I understand. It's hard losing your friends that turned out to be liars." Rosemary pat Isabella's shoulder while trying to help her.
A puking noise is heard as Rosemary, Isabella and Miles gasped and immediately turned around as Nicole fell to the floor as she passed out with food all over.
"Nicole!" Miles exclaimed.
"Nicole! Oh no!" Rosemary gasped, horrified that the illness is still going on.
"The NIDS have taken effect! Her stress is worsening it. I'll take her to bed while you two prepare yourselves." Isabella picks up Nicole after cleaning her mouth with a cloth and then walks towards Nicole's bedroom.
"Oh that's right. Miles, you go on without me. I'll catch up." Rosemary hands the bag over to Miles as Miles nervously looks down at his tails.
"Okay, mom." Miles nods and then walks towards the door, leaving the house as he's heading to school.
Outside, Miles is walking along with other kids to school as he comes across a bunch of children that consists of a black furred bear boy, a blue furred wolf boy and a white furred rabbit girl waiting at the entrance as the wolf boy wraps his arm around Miles.
"Hey, Tails, how's it going, little buddy?" The wolf boy, Hocke-Wulf the Wolf, giggles while messing with Miles' tails.
"Mind your own business." Miles snatches his tails back while holding them from the trio, nervous that they're near him.
"Aw, don't be shy, cutie pie. We ain't gonna hurt you." The rabbit girl, Carrottia the Rabbit, giggles while sliding her finger on Miles' arm, making Miles more uncomfortable.
"Well I will if you don't give us any lunch!" The bear boy, Bearanger the Bear, growls while raising his fists in front of Miles.
Miles is unsure why he's always on the short end of the stick because of his natural born mutation.
"Relax, buddy, we won't hurt you if you promise us." Hocke-Wulf said while letting Miles in the school building. "See you in class!"
As a trio of bullies stay at the entrance, Miles is still debating on the name Tails as one side thinks it's insulting because of his body and the other is a gift for his unique abilities.
Miles sighs and then walks towards the classroom.
In a classroom, other children including Miles, Hocke-Wulf, Bearanger and Carrottia are listening to a light shaded furred hedgehog woman with a tag, Miss Wing.
In the lesson, Miles is writing in his textbook until a scrunched up paper hits him.
As Miles picks it up, it reads: 'let's talk at the restaurant, Tails.'
Miles cringed at the name 'Tails' as it's a constant reminder that he'll forever be made fun of by the thing that's out of his control.
What Miles sees is 3 of the bullies looking at him as Miles lowers his head, fearing that he's about to go through their hijinks.
"Hm? Is something the matter, Miles?" Miss Wing asks while turning towards Miles himself.
"N- Nothing, Miss Wing." Miles lied.
This had Miss Wing worried as she frowned and then continued teaching the kids.
Outside at the restaurant, the trio are having a buffet as Miles sits in front of Carrottia and Hocke-Wulf and sits next to Bearanger as he gulps.
"Hey. Why aren't you eating? You clearly paid for our lunch." Bearanger asks while pointing his fork at Miles.
"I'm not that hungry." Miles sighed while looking away.
"What!? You're ungrateful!" Bearanger yelled as Miles flinched.
"Don't worry, Bearanger, he's giving us more. Tails is being a good boy as always." Carrottia says while taking a carrot from a plate.
"Yeah! That means more food for us!" Hocke-Wulf cheers as he and his friends chow down as Miles grunts.
Miles can tell they're disturbing the whole restaurant as he's the only quiet person around.
"You know, my two-tailed buddy, since you're being a good boy, we'll reward you with a party." Hocke-Wulf said while using a toothpick on his teeth.
"Thanks, but you see I need to get back and check on my friend. She's really sick and I don't want her to suffer." Miles points out as the trio are disappointed.
"Man, what a party pooper. But whatever, I guess." Carrottia pouts after Miles rejected the offer.
"Can I beat him up now?" Bearanger asks while clenching his fists in front of Miles.
"Bearanger! What did I tell you!?" Hocke-Wulf snaps as he tells Bearanger to stop being violent towards their 'best friend.'
As Bearanger sighs, Miles takes his leave as he apologises to the people in the restaurant and runs out of the door, leaving the trio of bullies behind.
Back at home, Miles enters Nicole's bedroom, only for him to see unopened packets and cans as Nicole is in bed.
"Hey, Nicole." Miles greets Nicole while sitting on her bed.
"Miles? Is that you? Ah. Why do you sound sad?" Nicole asks.
Miles already knows that NIDS causes semi blindness as well as paralysis as her stress is the reason why Nicole struggles to eat, drink, see, hear, move, feel and even think properly as her mind is not going great, leading to Miles holding Nicole's hand.
"I hope you get better. If Miss Isabella saves you, then you can go to school with me." Miles said with a confident smile.
Nicole is surprised to hear Miles being confident after sounding miserable when he got back.
Nicole then pats Miles' head as she giggles.
"Miles, you're always strange."
"It happens a lot." Miles also giggles.
It's just another day for Miles as he's never getting out of this loop of being surrounded by bullies.
Tomorrow is another day.
