20XX August 5th
Another day, another being made fun of, Miles sighs, realising that his life will forever be tormented, even his only friend is dying as Miles will end up alone.
What catches him off guard is a certain blue hedgehog standing on a pole as Miles exclaims.
"Hey! You're going to get-" Miles stops as a hedgehog leaps to another pole and then a rooftop while running off. "Hurt… Who is that guy?"
Miles knows a few hedgehogs as one of them was his teacher and the other is a stranger he met from a month ago.
Walking towards the school building, Miles is worried that he's encountering weird stuff as if he's a part of the surreal environment.
Inside the school, the kids are amazed by a drone that is made out of scrap parts as Miles shows them what it does by handing a book over to an orange furred vixen girl.
"That's amazing!" The vixen girl giggled.
"It's not a problem, Patty." Miles laughed while rubbing his head.
As the kids are watching a drone fly together, Miles has accomplished making people happy.
Until a fist breaks the drone as the kids shriek and Miles gasps out of horror.
"NO!" Miles charges towards his destroyed drone as he sees its remains dropping parts.
"Peh! How ugly!" Bearanger growls while waving his hand.
"Run along, guys! This is big boy talk between us and Tails!" Hocke-Wulf calls while wrapping his arm around Miles while laughing.
"Hey! You can't do that! You should apologise!" Patty the Vixen snaps while leaning closer to Hocke-Wulf and Bearanger.
"Beat it, fox girl! Unless you want pummeling like Tails' little toy!" Bearanger shouts as both he and Patty growls.
"You two, calm down. I think our little friend forgives him. Right, Tails?" Hocke-Wulf giggles while rubbing Miles' arm.
Miles remains silent as he's unsure what to do while holding his tails in fear.
"Also, I'm so sorry for my friend's fist. I could've sworn there's a fly here." Hocke-Wulf lied while snatching the drone and tossing it away.
Patty is worried that Miles is hurting himself after being wrapped under in the bullies' mess.
"Guys, the teacher's here." Carrottia arrives as she warns her friends that Miss Wing is near.
As the door opens, the kids are in their seats, including Miles and the bullies, only for them to see Miss Wing and Rosemary arrive in the classroom.
"Hello, kids! Miss Prower's about to take over class for now, so I need to see Miles in the teacher's office." Miss Wing calls as Miles gulp.
It's another thing that Miles hates being around the bullies is because not only his mother is a teacher, but he lived with his single mother without a father.
In the teacher's office, Miles is sitting in front of Miss Wing, thinking that he could be in trouble after yesterday.
"So, Miles, where were you yesterday?" Miss Wing asks while leaning forward a little.
"Um… I…" Struggling to speak out, Miles is unsure if he's truly in trouble.
"Tell the truth. I won't be angry if you tell me." Miss Wing places her hand on Miles' shoulder while encouraging him to speak his mind.
Lowering his head, Miles looks at his own hands and then lifts his head up.
"I was just seeing my friend back at home. It was after I left the restaurant and skipped class. My friend was suffering." Miles explains while Miss Wing raises her finger to calm Miles down.
"I get it. But that doesn't mean you skip classes. I think it had something to do with the bullies." Miss Wing said as Miles stayed quiet.
Afterwards, Miss Wing places the papers on the drawers and then lean forward.
"There was a boy who was just like you. He was a victim of bullying as well as other kids. I had to deal with this said bully for a while and exclude him from coming back." Miss Wing clenches her dress while lowering her head.
"You don't like bullies too?" Miles asked.
"It's not that I don't like them, I despise bullying." Miss Wing reveals her feelings towards the bullies as it surprises Miles himself. "The bully I dealt with is a horrible person with a family of horrible people, raised by their horrible mother. I hated them."
Miles didn't know that Miss Wing is actually worried about him in truth as if he sees a teacher trying her best not to get caught.
"So what happened to the bullies and their mom?"
"After I called their mother, she was very angry, furious even. She tried to call the school and have me out of the job, shutting the school down. I can't do anything for my students. Why? Because the world is scary, bad people are around, evil scientists are all over the world, good kids get punished for the things they didn't do."
"So why do you want to help me and the other kid?" Miles asked.
"Simple, people often say the bullies forget when they grow up, but the truth is the bullied never forgets." Miss Wing takes off her glove, revealing to Miles that she has scars all over her hand, causing Miles to widen his eyes.
"No way…"
"Unlike you boys, but soon, it was severe. Bullies are nothing but horrible people at heart. When I was young, I met a boy in Hedgehog Town who was my age. He was a popular soccer player in school and he had feelings for me."
"Really?" Miles is curious about what Miss Wing is talking about.
"You're too young for that, but you'll understand when you grow up." Miss Wing giggles as she carries on. "But yeah. When it was caught in public, I was targeted by the bullies. The boy I love left me for another girl and I was left to become their plaything. My teacher told me that bullies will change, but I think that teacher is a liar."
Miles is feeling sorry for Miss Wing after hearing what her history was like when she was a student.
"What I'm saying is don't become like me. A victim is going to be warped if they can't get any help. If you need any help, let me know." Said Miss Wing.
Miles nods as he understands why Miss Wing worries for him.
Finally, Miss Wing hands the broken drone over to Miles, knowing it belonged to him.
"You told the other boy a story?" Miles asks as Miss Wing nods.
"You know, you're both similar. Shy little boys who're good hearted. Never forget what I said to you." Miss Wing pat Miles' head while smiling.
"So what about your eye? Why is it covered by your hair?" Miles asks about Miss Wing's bangs in front of her left eye.
"Oh it's just a hairstyle. You can go back now." Miss Wing let's Miles go as he leaves through the door, making her sigh and look at an old photo of a bunch of students from Hedgehog Town.
"Nicky… He's just like you. If only you met him, maybe you two could make great friends." Tears are dropping as Miss Wing sniffles and wipes them with her fingers.
Quietly, Miss Wing weeps, knowing they'll never come back after the incident and it's been a month.
Behind the door is Hocke-Wulf, Bearanger and Carrottia as they're silent about who their teacher truly was and that means they'll be in huge trouble if they're caught.
As they nod, they leave the office.
Lunchtime, Miles is walking with his packed lunch while heading towards the tree to sit down by.
It's strangely peaceful when no one's around to pester him.
Opening his bento box, Miles starts to eat a sandwich while watching the birds fly under the sunny sky, making Miles wish Nicole is out to see the view.
Is Miss Wing right about the bullies forgetting and the bullied remembering?
Closing his eyes, Miles sighs as he's feeling guilty for ditching Hocke-Wulf, Bearanger and Carrottia for his own peace.
While Miles is peacefully eating…
A thwack to the head has pushed Miles to the ground as Miles comes across the same trio with Bearanger rubbing his knuckles.
"Hey, Tails." Carrottia teasefully greets as Miles rubs his face.
"So, trying to rat us out, huh!? You're a horrible friend!" Bearanger roars which had Miles flinching and crawling backwards in fear.
"Why're you running away? I thought we were best friends." Hocke-Wulf giggles while holding out a pair of garden shears.
"No! No please! Stay back!" Panicking as Miles tries to make a run for it, only for Bearanger to swing his fist on Miles' face and hit him to the ground as Carrottia sits on Miles' back.
"Relax, Tails, you'll be Miles again once we get rid of that tail." Hocke-Wulf's laughter is turning to insanity as he's excited to see what'll happen to Miles.
And they're all just kids.
"I'm sorry! Please don't do this! I won't tell anyone!" Miles tries to escape as Carrottia pulls Miles' head up to look at her.
"Don't worry, cutie pie, this won't hurt a bit."
All Miles could do is scream, knowing that his other tail is about to be removed, leading him to either be normal again, or suffer nothing but pain for the rest of his life.
Hocke-Wulf cackles as he places the shears on Miles' tail, leading to the 3 of them laughing as Miles is on the receiving end of losing a part of his uncontrollable mutation.
Then…
"Huh?" Miles opens his eyes.
Hocke-Wulf stops as he sees the garden shears vanish, causing the trio to exclaim out of confusion.
"What the- GAWK!" A boot to the face as Hocke-Wulf is being pushed to the tree.
"What the!?" Bearanger exclaimed while raising his fist.
"What's that!?" Carrottia is also shocked after an invisible wind has knocked Hocke-Wulf out.
Bearanger can see a blue hedgehog walking towards them as he looks serious.
Sonic is here.
"Who the heck are you!?" Bearanger growls, only for the Sonic to immediately stand closer, causing Bearanger to growl and raise his fist. "ANSWER ME!"
Instantly, Sonic grabs Bearanger's hand and then twists it as Bearanger screams, making Sonic drop kick and boots Bearanger forward.
As Carrottia shrieks out of fear, Miles is speechless as he sees someone fighting back for him.
"Wh- Who are you?" Carrottia is trembling while backing herself away from Sonic, making her shriek as Sonic approaches her.
"You little!" Hocke-Wulf yells as he charges with the garden shears he picks up.
This has Sonic quickly dodge the slashes as he comes across Bearanger swinging his fists, ganging up on Sonic as Sonic himself dodge from the shears and fists, making him smirk.
Sonic then punches Bearanger both sides and then kicks him in the chin and then leaps backwards from a snipping shears.
"Why won't you stay still!?" Hocke-Wulf yells until his shears snip onto a tree, making them stuck to the branches as Hocke-Wulf growls.
After Hocke-Wulf is booted to the face again, knocking him out the second time, Bearanger appears rushing towards Sonic, alerting Sonic to slide under and then spin kicks Bearanger's face.
Before Bearanger bear hugs Sonic, Sonic places his hand on Bearanger's head and spin dashes down as he pounds the bear's face as Bearanger's face is covered in blue quills.
The children are cheering as they see a fellow child going all out violence against the bullies, surprising Sonic as he turns towards them all.
"Y- You! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" Carrottia snaps while raising Hocke-Wulf's garden shears.
Sonic immediately catches it with a single hand, avoiding the sharp blades as he glares at the white rabbit.
This causes Carrottia to scream as she tries to flee, making Sonic spin dash as he charges towards Carrottia by hitting her back, slamming her on to a tree.
In the end, the trio of bullies are knocked out as they're tied up, making Sonic clap his hands as the children are cheering for Sonic, only for Sonic to wave a salute, look at Miles and nod to him and then run off at the speed of sound.
"Who is that!?"
"I don't know, but he's so dreamy."
"Man, I wanna be just like him!"
"He is so cool!"
To Miles' surprise, he's witnessing a real hero after knowing that this hedgehog smiled at him.
Standing up, Miles follows the trail of speed as he's curious about who or what this hedgehog really is.
His appearance looks familiar to him as if he's related to the yellow hedgehog Miles met a while ago.
