When Estella finally came to, she slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times to see that she was no longer in the woods. Instead, she was staring up at a luxurious looking ceiling and she furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to recall what had expired. 'Where am I? What happened? she thought to herself as she began to look around her.
Noticing that everything around the room looked white and was decorated with unfamiliar designs that she never seen before. Yet, it was beautiful and for reasons unknown, found solace within its walls. Despite being in an unknown place and it shocked her.
Turning her attention to the bed she was laying on, she noticed that it was huge and way more comfortable than the mat she used to sleep on. Green and gold blankets were covering her up to her chest, making her feel like she was a princess. Her arms laid on either side of her on top of the blankets and lifting her right arm to her face, she noticed the sleeves were unfamiliar to her.
They were loose and slightly hanging down from her arms. It was also a light shade of blue and she looked down towards her chest. Where she saw that she was in a sleeping gown, her dress no longer in sight and it got her wondering how long she was out for. As well as who changed her clothing and bandages.
Carefully and slowly sitting up, she continued to look around her and then she had a feeling like someone was watching her. Turning to the right-side foot of the bed, she saw an older looking man with a long white beard, puffing on a pipe. He wore a dark grey looking robe that looked worn and tattered. A big gash sat on the top left side of his head near the hairline, and he looked like he had just gotten away from a nasty battle. Yet, his grey eyes still shone with kindness and as if sensing her panic he replied with a sweet smile,
"Do not be afraid. No one here is going to hurt you."
"Where am l? Last thing I remember is collapsing in the woods," Estella wondered as she began to look around the room again before turning back to him. "How long was I out for?"
"You are in Rivendell, and you've been out for three days," he mentioned, and she turns to him with shock in her eyes, as he continued, "The infection had spread into your blood and so it took some time to get it all out. You are quite lucky that Legolas got you here in time."
"Legolas? Who is that?" she asked as her brows burrowed in confusion.
"He's one of the Elves that has been summoned here and a long-time friend of the one, whom you call Strider," he stated, and she gave a slight nod in understanding. "He's also been the one caring for you while you healed. You gave everyone quite a scare."
"Can I ask you what your name is?" she politely asked, and he chuckled lightly.
"Where are my manners? Some call me Gandalf the Grey," he said with a smile. "Most just call me Gandalf."
"Tis a pleasure to meet you, Gandalf," Estella greeted with a nod and received one back.
"Likewise, Lady Estella," was his response as he began to puff on his pipe again. Then her thoughts came back to Strider and the hobbits. Where were they? Did they make it here? Turning to Gandalf, she asked,
"Speaking of which, where is Strider, Merry, Pippin and Sam?"
Without answering, he then turned and looked towards the door with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. Following his gaze, she saw standing in the doorway the three hobbits and Strider, clearly happy to see her well and awake.
Pippin was the first to run up to her, throwing himself around her torso and making her laugh. Merry and Sam followed; but instead of throwing themselves at her like Pippin did, they gave her a gentle hug and she smiled. Strider then walked up behind the Hobbit's and gave her a small smile with a bow as he asks her in concern,
"How are you feeling?"
"l feel much better, thank you," she answered with a smile. In fact, she hardly could tell that she even had any wounds and found it rather shocking. Even after all the other times her previous wounds had healed, she could still feel that they were there and was like a constant reminder of the whippings.
Now, it's like the wounds have vanished and she knew that they probably were still there. Maybe later she would fully check her back and see how the wounds look. Regaining her composure, she was about to say something when Strider says with a small smile in return, "Glad to hear that, for you gave us quite a scare. More so, the Hobbits."
"l guess I kind of scared myself as well," she said shamefully, looking down at her lap. Having no luck in the medical department, she did her best to care for the lashings herself. However, she didn't do a fairly good job, and this was the result to that. Returning her gaze back up at Strider, she states, "l should have taken better care of myself."
"This is not your fault, Mellon nin," Strider exclaimed sternly and she gives him a shocked look as he continues, "Whoever gave you those lash marks is the cause of blame. Not you." (My Friend)
"Yes, but I should have taken better care of them so they wouldn't have gotten infected in the first place," she defends as she crossed her arms over her chest and lifts her chin in defiance. A jesting smirk could be seen, and Strider lets out a soft chuckle. Shaking his head at her enthusiasm antics, he too crossed his arms over his chest and stares her down as he tries to reason with her,
"Look, I understand what you mean, but that does not justify you to blame yourself for this action. If it wasn't for those lash marks, you wouldn't have to worry about it getting infected in the first place."
"l guess I see what you mean," Estella said with a small sigh as she looked towards the Hobbits; two who had taken the liberty of sitting down on either side of her, while Sam stood next to bed. This made her smile. "l sure missed you three."
"We're glad you're doing better," Merry pipped up cheerfully and Pippin nodded. A smirk crossing his face as he jested,
"Yes, and Sam wouldn't shut up about you."
Earning a blush from Sam who turned away in embarrassment and Estella smiled at this. Reaching out, she places her left hand on his head, and he turns towards her with a small smile as she asks him, "How is your friend, Frodo?"
"He's doing a lot better now," Sam stated happily, his small smile growing larger. Only to turn solemn just as fast as he points out, "Elrond healed him, but he's going to have a scar from the wound for the rest of his life."
"Hey, as long as he's alive that's all that matters," she stated in reassurance and his smile slowly returned. "Just be there for him and show him he's not alone."
"The lady is right, young Sam," Gandalf agreed with a warm smile and Strider then cleared his throat. Making everyone look over at him as he began,
"As much as you want to stay and spend the whole day with Lady Estella, she still needs her rest." Receiving reluctant nods from the Hobbit's. Then he turns his attention back to her and says matter-of-factly, "When you are able to get out of bed, Lord Elrond wishes to have a word with you."
Nodding at this, she asks, "Does he know the reason of my presence here?"
"He does," Gandalf answered to this, and she turns her attention over towards him, to see him rising to his feet as he continues, "However, it is Lord Elrond's place to tell you, not mine. Nor Striders."
With one more small smile, he heads towards the door and walks out of the room. Strider turns towards the Hobbits and calls out, "Merry, Pippin, Sam. Come! She needs her rest and you three need to go see Frodo."
Merry and Pippin jumped off the bed with a wave goodbye as all three Hobbits followed Strider out of the room. Estella watched until she could no longer see them before she muffled a yawn and then laid back down on the bed. The moment her head hit the soft pillow; she was out.
Aragorn found himself sitting on a bench looking out towards the gardens with a pipe in his hands and thinking back to the lashings on Estella's back. In all his life, he has seen lashings before, but nothing like what she had gone through, and he could feel this anger fester. Wanting nothing more than to keep her safe and not let anymore harm come to her.
Feeling someone sit down beside him, he knew who it was without looking over towards them and it was his good friend Legolas. His presence was something he grew accustomed to over the years, and it was always welcomed. Keeping his gaze fixated on the garden, he continued to smoke his pipe when Legolas finally spoke,
"How is Lady Estella fairing?"
"She seems to be fairing fine," Aragorn replied with a small smile, as he recalled how she acted earlier, and it caught Legolas' attention.
"What is that smile, Mellon nin?" he asks, and Aragorn looks over at him now as he chuckles out,
"You might find her amusing." Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion at this declaration, Legolas was about to ask him what he meant, when he continued, "Gandalf has been keeping an eye on her so no one will bother her while she heals."
"I've heard from Lord Elrond that she is what the Prophecy has for-told to us," Legolas exclaimed and Aragorn looked over at him. "Do you think she is the one this Prophecy claims her to be?"
"If Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel both think so, then who are we to say otherwise," Aragorn stated and Legolas nodded. "Even if she wasn't, she should still be treated with respect and kindness. Though, I am not too sure about Gladir. He tends to be a little harsh with those who are not by Elvish blood, including if the one is a girl and it matters not if she is by the prophecy."
"l know of whom you speak," Legolas said as he let out a soft sigh. "l will try my best to keep him at bay, but if he does manage to try something..."
"I would be there to stop him," Aragorn interjected and Legolas looked over at him in shock. "l have come to see her as a sister, and I won't accept any folly where she is concerned."
"She sure has you under a deep spell, Mellon nin," Legolas jested and received a laugh from Aragorn. (My Friend)
"Indeed, she has," Aragorn jested back, earning a Laugh from Legolas and he rose to his feet. "l better go check on Merry and Pippin, before they get into too much mischief. Then I must report to Lord Elrond's study for a meeting about Estella and her purpose here."
"Until later," Legolas said and Aragorn gave him a slight bow before heading off down the corridors to find the mischievous hobbits.
The next time Estella awoke, it was to someone knocking on the door and placing her right arm across her eyes she lets out a soft sigh. Looking over towards the balcony, she saw that it was nearly noon and wondered how long she had slept for?
Another knock was heard before a female voice asked, "My Lady, are you awake?"
"Yes, I am awake," Estella managed to say after a moment of silence. "You may enter."
A beautiful Elf walked in; her raven brown hair flowed down her back and her beauty surpassed even her own. In her arms sat a pile of what looked like to be towels and Estella couldn't help but look at them in awe. Never had she been able to use towels and these looked soft. Making her want to reach out and touch them but refrained from doing so.
Setting the towels down on a small stool, the she elf then turned her attention over towards her and saw that look on her face. Causing her to wonder what had caused this young woman to stare at the towel with such enthusiasm and enjoyment. For she never had seen this kind of reaction before from anyone else and it got her curious. Deciding that it was better to not ask right now, she gave a slight bow and introduced herself,
"My name is Arwen and l am one of the ones who helped looked after you."
"Tis a pleasure to meet you, Arwen," Estella greeted back with a small nod and smile, then asks out of curiosity, "Were you also the one who changed my clothing?"
"Yes, tis I that have changed your bandages and your clothing," Arwen exclaims with a slight bow, and it made Estella feel a little uncomfortable. Yet, refrained from saying anything, so to not hurt this she elf's feelings, she thanked her instead and Arwen gives her a warm smile as she continues, "I have heard that you are now well enough to leave and that my father has requested to seek an audience with you."
Upon hearing this, Estella looked over at her in utter shock as she asks, "Lord Elrond is your father?"
Arwen couldn't help but laugh at this as she nodded and says with a warm smile, "He is and has asked me to come help you get ready. Which I was happy to oblige."
"I am not used to be waited on," Estella states shamefully and Arwen only gave her an assuring smile as she walks over to her. Taking her hands into hers, she exclaims,
"We don't know what you have gone through before coming here, but you are safe here. So, feel free to look around and enjoy yourself."
Not sure what to say on this matter, Estella could feel tears trying to break through her barriers and she did her best to remain strong. Most of her life, she never knew much kindness and right now, she has been receiving more kindness than she had ever received. It was all overwhelming, but at the same time she found herself feeling loved and cherished.
Releasing her hands, Arwen turned and headed towards an adjourning room that sat off towards the left side of the bed. Which sat off towards the left side of the door and Estella pulled back the blankets. Swinging her legs out from under them and over the side of the bed, she rose to her feet.
When Arwen returned, she told her that she drew her bath and that she would return in an hour to help her finish getting ready. Thanking her, Estella headed into the adjourning room to see a large tub and basin for washing up. It sat underneath an open window to let the sun cast its glow over them and couldn't help but smile.
Looking to a small table nearby, she saw that different size of bottles sat on it and she figured that they contained shampoo of some sort. Walking over to the tub, she saw that it was filled with steaming water, and she reached down to touch the surface; to find it soothing and relaxing. Hurrying as fast as she can out of the gown she was in, she stepped into the tub and sighed as she lowered herself into the water.
Growing up, all she had was a cold bath after her aunt and cousins took one first; even then, she had to take a quick one so to get back to her chores around the house. So, she never got to fully clean herself and would look like she never took a bath.
Not knowing what bottles to use and having a hard time scrubbing off the grime, it took her over an hour to bathe. Finally managing to clean herself the best she could, she got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her. Heading into the bedroom, she saw Arwen standing in front of a hand-crafted armoire, with carvings made of the smallest detail.
Digging through the dresses, Estella noticed that there were dresses of every type and color. All were beautifully stitched and seemed to be made well. When Arwen found the one, she liked, she turned to Estella and held out the dress she chose, receiving a nod from her.
It was a beautiful dark green dress; with long see-through sleeves that seemed to be fitting at the top and then flare out at the bottom. Touching the material, she noticed that it felt lighter than it looked, and with a smile she carefully took it out of Arwen's hands. Before she could slip the dress over her head, Arwen stopped her and states,
"Before you put the dress on, I need to replace your bandage."
Realizing that her bandage was indeed soaked from the bath, Estella gave her a nod and set the dress down on the bed as Arwen went to work. Removing the towel, she placed it onto the bed and then went to unwrapping the old, wet bandage. Tossing it on the bed on top of the towel, she then went to check her back and made sure it was healing properly.
Noticing that majority of the old lash marks have indeed vanished from view, the deepest and fresh ones, were almost healed as well. Though, it still had some depth to it and was still likely to get infected if she wasn't careful. Letting out a soft sigh, Estella turns her back towards Arwen who began to add some type of ointment to the wounds, and she cringed lightly at the pain. Once she was done, she then began wrapping a new and clean bandage around her.
The moment that the bandage was secured, Arwen helped Estella slip the dress over her head and then helped with the string in the back. Making sure it wasn't too tight and when she was done, Estella looked at herself in a full-size mirror to see that the dress fitted her perfectly.
Heading out of the chamber, they made their way down the corridors and towards a set of huge oak doors. Arwen gave one of the doors a knock and waited to hear 'Enter' on the other side of the door before opening it.
Estella then entered what appeared to be the study and saw a regal looking elf sitting at the desk. His face was stern and his eyes somewhat cold. Like they had seen many horrors as well as pleasantries through the years. His long brown hair flowed down his back, and he wore a circlet upon his brow.
She also noticed that Gandalf, and Strider was there as well. Gandalf was seated in a chair beside Elrond's desk and Strider was seated beside him. When he saw Estella, he gave her a warm smile before Elrond interrupted, by saying,
"Ah, Estella. Welcome to Rivendell." Estella turned to Elrond, to see that he was now standing and with his hands behind his back as he walked over to a small table beside his desk, picking up a small oak chest and then walking back to his desk. "You are probably wondering why it is, that you are here, am I correct?"
Only earning a nod from her, for she wasn't sure on what to say on the matter as she cupped her hands together in front of her and bowed her head. Why is it, that she was sent here? What purpose does she have to play and what exactly is the cause of all the stress that she sees in everyone's faces?
"It came to my attention about a week ago, when Lady Galadriel of Lothlorien told me about a prophecy," Elrond started and caused Estella to look up at him. "That a young woman from a different world would appear around this time and play an important role in the fate of Middle Earth."
"Will I ever be able to go back home when my task is done?" Estella asked and Elrond's face fell a bit before he spoke again,
"She has also told me, that you could no longer be able to return to the place in which you've come," he told her with sorrow in his eyes. "You now belong here, in this world and you have a choice."
"What choice is that My Lord?"
Holding up the small oak chest that he had grabbed off the small table and looked over at her with a small smile. Walking over towards her, he held the chest carefully in his hands and when he reached her, he opened its lid. There, in the chest was a beautiful silver butterfly on a silver chained necklace and she couldn't hold back a gasp.
"Lady Galadriel informed me, that this necklace is of the prophecy," Elrond exclaimed as she ran her fingers over the butterfly and gave a small smile, as he continued, "Once you put this on, you cannot take it off till you chose what it is that you want to be. You can either chose to remain a human; or you can become an Elf like my people. You must choose wisely, for the change will be permanent and it only has one use."
Arwen walked up and gently picked up the necklace from the chest into her hands and put it around Estella's neck with a small smile, before stepping away. Estella saw that it hung just a little bit above her cleavage, and she then looked up at Elrond with a small smile, which he returned.
"l would be happy if you chose to become one of us," Elrond stated. "Yet, that is something that you alone must decide. Once you have decided, the necklace will grant your wish."
"My Lord, about this prophecy. What exactly is going on that I must help with?" Estella wondered.
"My Lord, if I may," Gandalf speaks up and Lord Elrond waves his hand in a 'You may proceed,' manner.
Gandalf went to explain how the Ring of Power came to be; to where it was found by Bilbo and then left in Frodo's care. Estella listened to every word and realized that the whole world is on the brink of destruction if something wasn't done about this 'One Ring'. When Gandalf was finished, Estella then turned to Elrond and took a deep breath before saying,
"l don't know how much help I will be, but I will try hard to help out anyway I can," she replied, receiving a smile from the three men and then Arwen spoke up.
"Ada, I don't think it's wise for her to go on this quest," she stated worriedly. "She is still young, and this quest will be too dangerous for her." (Father)
"Arwen, I understand your concern," Elrond said as he walked over towards her and grabbed her hands before continuing, "Estelion enni, iellig." (Trust in me, My Daughter)
"Estelion allen, ada," Arwen said as a small smile came to her lips, and yet it was just a small trace that could be easily missed. (l trust in you, Father)
Releasing one of her hands, he then raises it to touch the side of her face before taking a step back and turning to Estella once again, while suggesting, "We are having a counsel tomorrow after lunch and I would like you to be there as well." Receiving a nod a from, he continues, "There, you will make your final decision on whether or not you will aid in the quest."
After the meeting, Lord Elrond, Arwen and Gandalf headed towards the Dining Hall while Strider wished to speak with Estella alone. Once everyone had left, Strider turned to her and bowed his head slightly as he stated, "The reason I wish to speak with you alone, is over the choice you have to make with that necklace."
"What of it?" Estella asked nervously as she watched him began to pace in front of her.
"From what I have read, you don't have that long to choose what it is you want to become," he said as he stopped pacing and turned to her. Hearing this, made Estella a little on edge and she waited as he continued, "You have 5 months to choose, Estella. If you do not choose in that time, dire circumstances will take place, and I do not wish to see what that might be. I know you must be careful on what you choose but know this. I would like to see you as an Elf, for your beauty indeed surpasses that of a human girl."
"Flattery won't get you anywhere, Strider," Estella jested with a smirk, her nervousness slowly fading and Strider just laughed as he stated,
"I'm not trying to flatter you. I was simply stating the truth."
"So, you say," she jested again as she crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her nose in the air with a smirk, receiving another laugh from him.
"Come, lunch is being served and I'm sure you are starving by now," he said, and she looked over at him with a smile. "Also, I would also like you to start calling me Aragorn, Strider is my Ranger name."
"Aragorn? I think I like that name better," she stated with a smile, and he laughed.
"Flattery won't get you anywhere, Estella," he jested back, and she laughed out loud as they made their way to the Dining Hall.
When they entered the Dining Hall, Estella saw that it was already crowded, and they began making their way to their table. There, she saw that Elrond sat at the head of the table; on his left sat Gandalf and the four hobbits. The first, she assumed must be Frodo; followed by Sam, Merry and then Pippin.
To Elrond's right sat Arwen, two empty seats sat between her and a young-looking Elf with blonde hair that flowed down to his shoulders and blue eyes. She guessed that must be Legolas, the one who had brought her here and she would have to thank him for that.
At the other end of the table sat another man; he seemed to be a much larger build than Aragorn, with dark brown hair and was dressed as royalty. When they reached the table, Aragorn sat down next to Arwen as she took her seat next to him and the young-looking elf. As she was about to try the food that was sitting in front of her, the Elf began to speak,
"l am glad to see you looking well, My Lady," he greeted, and she looked over at him. My name is Legolas of Mirkwood and it's an honor to finally meet you in person."
"Tis a pleasure to meet you as well, Legolas," she said simply with a slight nod. Legolas then noticed that her eyes were a beautiful forest green, and he smiled. Maybe Aragorn was right, maybe getting to know her wouldn't be so bad after all. "l also want to thank you for bringing me here in time. You saved my life. So, thank you."
"It's my pleasure," Legolas said as with a smile, then turned a little solemn as he points out, "Though, I must say that I was most shocked to see the state of your wounds."
"Yes, it was quite common from where I hailed from," Estella exclaimed and Legolas asks in curiosity,
"Where is it that you hail from?"
"I come from 16th-century France," she tells him, and he looks at her in confusion. "It's a simple place really. Where I lived was just on the outskirts of the Kings Palace on a small farm. After my parents' death when I was 9, my aunt and her two daughters moved in to take care of me. In fact, they took over the whole farm and I was left as a servant in my own home."
"Tell me, is she the one who whipped you?" Legolas asks, a slight hint of menace in his voice and she sighed as she looks down at her lap before nodding. "Why would she do such a thing?"
"For many reasons really," Estella replied with a shrug.
"What reasons is that?" Aragorn now asks and Estella saw that everyone was looking at her.
"If I am late with my chores, if I accidentally break something in the house, and the worst one was just before I ended up here," she said as she took a deep breath and lowered her gaze.
"Whatever did you do?" Merry asks and she looks over at him with a solemn smile.
"l had found my oldest cousin digging into my mothers' belongings out of spite and I guess I just got angry with her," Estella confessed in shame. "I hardly ever get mad, but when I do... I can sure pack a punch and that's exactly what I did at her comment."
"What, pray tell, did she say?" Legolas asks now, slightly amused that this young woman could pack a punch as she so called it.
"l asked her why she was going through my mothers' stuff because they were special to me," Estella exclaimed as she sighed. "She sneered at me saying, that since my mother was dead that she gets first pick on her stuff and that I would never get to use them. I guess you could say I lost it and punched her in the face so hard that she flipped backwards over her bed."
Aragorn started laughing now and Estella turned to him in shock, soon everyone had begun to laugh except for her. "l guess in some way it was funny, especially with her dress going over her head," she thought as she smiled.
"l truly wish I could have seen that," Merry replied with a chuckle and Estella smiled for a second before turning solemn as she said,
"l guess at the moment I thought it was a good idea, until I saw the look on my aunts face, and I knew I was in deep trouble. Boy was I right, and I had regretted it since for letting my anger get a hold of me."
"You had every right to get mad, Mellon nin," Legolas suggested and she turned to him. "Even an Elf knows not to say evil things of the dead. Your cousin shouldn't have said such things." (My Friend)
"Thank you, Legolas. Though doing so has caused me great suffering in that sense," Estella pointed out. "Because of my actions I got the worst punishment, and it almost cost me my life."
"Estella, did she lash you harder than the other times?" Aragorn asks and she shook her head as she turned to him.
"Nay, she didn't. She has two sets of whips," she says, and his face turned grim. "It's far too hard for me to say, for I don't want to think of it. It's still too near in my memory."
Understanding that she has said enough for the time being, everyone let it drop for now and she was grateful. Yet, Legolas wasn't at all pleased, for someone to do such a thing to someone as gentle as her was folly. He now understood what he wanted to do and that was to protect her from harm again. He wasn't going to let any more harm come to her if he is able.
For the rest of the meal, Estella found herself laughing at Merry and Pippin as they argued on whose fault it was on setting off the dragon firework at Bilbo's birthday party. Then went on to whose fault it was that broke the vase in their shared chambers and then to whose fault it was on overflowing the tub. Which that received a disappointed look from Aragorn, which had Estella biting her lip to keep from laughing.
Legolas just sat there watching her with amusement and began to enjoy the sound of her laughter as she jested with Aragorn, in turn making him laugh. Unbeknownst to them, Boromir had also taken interest in Estella as well and he watched her with admiration. For never has he seen anyone so beautiful.
"Miss Estella," a young male voice had snapped her out of her conversation with Aragorn and turned to the source of the voice, to see a hobbit with black curly hair smiling at her.
"I take it, that you must be Frodo?" she asks, and he nods. "It's nice to finally meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too, Miss Estella," he says, and she just laughs.
"Please, just call me Estella," she pleaded, and he smiles.
She began chatting with him so to fully understand him more and he was quite fun to talk to. Even though he was a little shy and wasn't much for words, he found himself opening to her more. He would tell her about this life and the stories his Uncle Bilbo was writing in his book about his adventure to Lonely Mountain. Then he went to telling her about all the crazy stuff that Pippin and Merry got themselves into, earning a look of disbelief from the two hobbits.
After a while, Estella found herself getting sleepy as she muffled a yawn or two and Aragorn suggests that she get some rest. Nodding, she stands up and bids everyone goodnight as she heads out of the Dining Hall. Barely making it ten steps down the corridor when she heard a male voice call out.
"My Lady, wait!"
Turning around she saw the man from the other end of the table running up to her and she gives him a small smile. When he reaches her, he gives her a bow before saying, have not fully introduced myself, "I am Boromir of Gondor and it's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful lady."
"You are too kind," she says with a warm smile and a nod.
"I know you are tired, so I may I have the honor of escorting you to your chambers?"
"You may," Estella giggled softly when he offered his arm which she gladly accepted. Hooking her arm into his, he led her down the corridors towards her chambers. He began chatting about Gondor and on how massive it was. Not quite believing that a city could be that tall and yet, she decided to picture how it would look. Next, he went on about his younger brother and how their father didn't favor him for some unknown reason. Always treated him like a nuisance and Estella knew what that was like. Only, she had it a lot worse, but didn't want to tell Boromir that.
Especially when he would ask her about her life and what it was like where she lived. Which she would answer in a manically voice, especially when she would talk about her friend and the things they used to do growing up. Receiving a chuckle from him as he looks over at her and she gives him a small smile.
Then she went to talk about a few other things about where she lived, only leaving out the whippings she would receive and spare any kind of pity he might give her. Knowing that he probably heard during their meals about it but thought it best to not bring it up and was glad when they reached her chamber doors.
Grabbing one of her hands, he lifts it up and places a kiss on the back as he says, "Goodnight, My Lady. Sleep well."
"Goodnight, Lord Boromir," she says in a slight whisper as she gives him a small smile before entering her chambers.
Boromir heads back to the Dining Hall with a huge smile on his face. He may yet to win her heart, and he wasn't going to let the Elf win this one.
