Chapter 17:

Akko's first date

It was the Friday after the Samhain magic festival, and the students were looking forward to a relaxing weekend. All but two. Akko and Diana were to have their first date tomorrow and it was affecting both girls differently.

Currently classes were over for the day, and everyone was doing their own things. Diana was in her room as she sat at her desk with a book and some tea. The problem was Diana sitting there for over ten minutes and hasn't turned the page once.

"Diana are you ok?" Asked Hannah worried.

"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" Asked Diana as she picked up her cup.

"You've been on the same page for a while." Answered Hannah.

That was when Barbara spoke up.

"And your hand is shaking pretty badly." Barbara added.

Diana looked down at her hand as saw it was indeed shaking as her tea was splashing out.

"I see." Siad Diana as she put the cup down and went for something to clean the tea up.

"What's up with her?" Asked Barbara concerned for Diana.

"I don't know." Answered Hannah equally concerned.

But the truth was Diana didn't tell them about her date with Akko tomorrow. While they have matured in Diana eyes, she wasn't sure how the two would react to her going out with Akko or her going out with a girl in general.

As Diana was getting her cleaning supplies, she couldn't help but wonder if she was like this then how was Akko dealing with things.

With Akko she was currently tossing her clothes all over the room.

"No, no, no." Said Akko as she was looking at her clothes.

"Akko, what are you doing?" Asked Sucy as she was getting annoyed by Akko's clothes flying about.

"I'm looking for the right outfit." Said Akko as she looked at some skirts.

"Akko, you already have a great date planned." Said Lotte as she felt Akko was over reacting a bit.

"I know, but I want this to be as perfect as I can." Said Akko as she continued to look at her clothes.

"Can you do something." Said Sucy as she looked at Kero and Yue annoyed.

"I'm on it." Said Kero as he flew off.

Lotte and Sucy shared a confused look as they wondered where Kero flew off to. While Akko continued to look through her wardrobe.

Tomoeda, Japan

Later in Tomoeda at a large mansion with a huge yard sat Tomoyo and her mother Sonomi as they were having dinner.

As they ate and talked a maid entered the room.

"Mam." Started the maid as she looked unsure. "Miss Tomoyo has a guest."

"A guest? who is it?" Asked Sonomi curious.

"Um a stuffed animal that talks." Answered the maid as she felt like she was losing it.

"Is it a yellow lion?" Asked Tomoyo as she knew who it was.

"Yes, how did you know?" Said the maid surprised.

"He's a friend." Said Tomoyo with a chuckle as Kero entered the room.

"Hey Tomoyo!" Greeted Kero with a warm smile.

"Kero, what bring you here?" Asked Tomoyo as she was wondering where Akko and Yue are.

"I need your help." Said Kero seriously.

"With what?" Asked Tomoyo as she had a good idea.

"Akko going on a date tomorrow with Diana and can't find anything to wear." Said Kero as he dropped his seriousness.

Hearing that Tomoyo grinned ear to ear as she faced her mother.

"May I be excused for the evening mother?" Tomoyo asked her.

"Go ahead, but don't stay out too late." Said Sonomi with a warm smile.

"Thank you. Now then Kero I have just what we need." Said Tomoyo as she got up and headed for the door.

"Right behind you." Said Kero as he floated behind her.

Luna Nova

Back with Akko she was still looking for the right outfit. It got to the point where Lotte had to take Sucy out of the room because she was getting ready to use a potion on Akko. As for the type, well when Yue asked what she was doing all he got was her chuckling all evil like.

"What do I do?" Akko asked herself as she flopped down on her bed.

"Maybe I can help?" Said a soft voice. A voice Akko would never forget.

"Tomoyo?! What are you doing here?" Asked Akko as she shot up.

"A little lion told me about your situation." Said Tomoyo as she walked while pulling a trunk behind her.

"I see." Was all Akko could say.

"And from what I can see I am needed here." Said Tomoyo as she saw Akko's clothes all over the place.

"Tomoyo." Said Akko as she was grateful, she was here to help her.

"Let's get started then." Said Tomoyo as she set her trunk up and then opened it.

That was when Tomoyo revealed it had compartments inside of it. As she opened up the compartments Akko, Kero, and Yue all blinked as they saw an entire closet inside as the trunk was twice as big, by the time Tomoyo finished opening it.

"So tell me about your date." Said Tomoyo as she turned around and faced them.

"We sure she doesn't have magic?" Asked Yue as that trunk shocked him.

"Yup." Was all Kero could say also in shock.

But none of them saw someone standing near the open door.

"Interesting." Said the person as they slipped out.

The next day in Blytonbury Diana waited for Akko. Diana looked at her outfit again that consisted of white blouse and blue jeans with a light blue jacket. She looked at her watch as she was still 20 minutes early.

'I hope I didn't overdress. Or did I underdress?' Wondered Diana as she all Akko told her was to dress casually.

"Diana?" Said Akko as she just arrived.

Diana looked at Akko in awe. She wore a red skirt with a blue shirt under a red jacket. But what Diana was really looking at was Akko's hair was down.

"Akko." Was all Diana could say as all the time she knew Akko she had her hair in that ponytail.

"You're early." Said Akko as she still had 20 minutes before they meet.

"I was in the area already." Lied Diana as she was so nervous.

"You look great." Said Akko with a little blush on her face.

"Thank you. So do you." Replied Daina as her eyes kept going to Akko's hair.

"Thanks." Said Akko thankful for Tomoyo. She finally suggested to Akko that simple would be best for this date.

"Well, shall we?" Asked Akko as she gestured to Diana.

"Sure, but what are we doing?" Asked Diana as she still had no idea what Akko had planned.

"You'll see." Was all Akko told her as the two walked off.

Once they were out of sight Tomoyo walked into view as she wore her normal clothes along with a pair of sunglasses. And in her hands was her video camera.

"They look so cute together." Said Tomoyo as she glad she went with simple for Akko's clothes.

"So, we doing this?" Asked Kero as he popped his head out of Tomoyo's purse. And the funny thing was Kero was wearing sunglasses too.

"Of course." Said Tomoyo as she wouldn't miss this for the world.

"Glad Yue choose not to come along." Said Kero as the purse would be too small then. That and he didn't want to come.

"Oh, looks like we aren't alone." Said Tomoyo as she and Kero saw Amanda looking around a corner in front of them.

"Talk about an amateur. She's wearing her school uniform." Said Kero as he shook his head.

They then saw Amanda follow Akko and Diana.

"She's going to ruin things for us." Said Kero with a frown.

"That's only if they spot us." Said Tomoyo with a grin. A grin Kero shared.

A little bit later Akko and Diana were at an event hall. When Diana saw where they were heading she got excited.

"Akko, are we going to the ancient magic item event?" Diana asked her excited and hopeful.

"We are." Said Akko as she flashed two tickets to Diana.

"I wanted to go, but the festival took up so much time that I forgot about it." Said Diana excited as she took her ticket.

Behind them Kero and Tomoyo heard them as they grinned.

"Nice one Akko. Finding common ground for a first date." Said Tomoyo approvingly.

"So do we follow?" Asked Kero curiously.

"We do." Said Tomoyo flashing her own ticket.

"When did you?" Asked Kero confused.

"You forget me and Akko are like sisters. I know what's she thinking." Said Tomoyo as they followed the two.

Meanwhile Amanda was still following unaware where they were going.

At the event Akko and Diana were walking around. They stopped at nearly every display. They would read the discription on it and then talked about it. The two had such a great time as they went through the event.

Tomoyo smiled fondly at the sight as she was happy for her friend. Meanwhile Kero looked at the two as the briefly changed into Clow Reed and Beatrix.

'It's almost like history is repeating itself with them.' Thought Kero with a grin on his face.

"Hey Tomoyo." Said Kero suddenly.

"Yes." Said Tomoyo as she looked away from the two.

"I think we're done here." Said Kero as he looked at the two.

"Yeah." Agreed Tomoyo as she wanted to make sure things would go smoothly for the two. But now she wasn't worried as she two the two talking and smiling.

And with that the two headed off. As they left the hall, they saw Amanda sitting nearby. Probably waiting for Akko and Diana to come out.

"Should we?" Asked Kero as he looked at her.

"We should." Said Tomoyo as she walked over to Amanda.

"Hello Amanda." Said Tomoyo as she reached the bench.

"Um hello." Said Amanda as she wasn't sure who this was.

"You know if you're going to tail someone, you shouldn't wear your school uniform." Said Tomoyo as Amanda was surprised to hear this.

"Ok who are you?!" Demanded Amanda as she got up.

"It's been a while, but I did hope you'd remember me." Said Tomoyo with a chuckle as she slid down her glasses revealing her face.

"Yeah, she's extremely hard to forget." Added Kero as his head popped out of Tomoyo's purse.

"You're Tomoyo!?" Said Amanda as she was the last person she'd expect to see today.

"Yup." Said Tomoyo with a smile and a chuckle.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Amanda curious.

"The same thing you're doing." Said Tomoyo as Amanda looked away.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Said Amanda trying to play it cool.

"We saw you tailing Akko and Diana." Stated Kero as Amanda knew she was caught.

"How'd you even know? I don't think Diana even told her teammates." Asked Kero curious.

"I overheard you last night and thought it be worth a few laughs." Amanda told them as she had no point in lying.

"I see." Said Kero as he was kicking himself for leaving the door open.

"So, what know?" Asked Amanda curious if they were going to rat her out to Akko and Diana.

"Well we're heading out and you should join us." Said Tomoyo confusing Amanda.

"Why?" She asked them confused.

"If you do, I'll share a few tricks for tailing people." Said Tomoyo as Amanda thought about it.

It was getting a little boring here and to be honest she wasn't even sure when those two would leave. And maybe learning a new trick or two about tailing people would be useful later.

"Ok." Said Amadna as she left with them.

But if they waited a minute later they would have seen Akko and Diana leaving.

"So where to know?" Asked Diana curious as she has enjoyed this date so far.

"How about dinner?" Asked Akko curious as she was getting hungry.

Diana looked at her watch and saw it was near dinner time. And she was getting hungry as well.

"Sure." Said Diana curious what Akko had planned.

"Great. Follow me." Said Akko as they walked into town.

Soon the two arrived at a café. It was nice little café that was out of way.

The two had a wonderful meal together. As they ate, they talked. They talked about school, they're goals for the future, and Akko talked about her family and some of her adventures. Akko wanted to ask Diana about her family, but knew it was a touchy subject for her and choose to leave it alone.

Soon they were done and paid for their meals. By that time it was starting to get a little late.

"We'd best head back. Curfew is only a couple hours away." Said Diana as flying at night could be dangerous.

"Still the prefect student." Joked Akko as she was referring to her talking about curfew.

"One of has to be." Joked Diana as the two shared a laugh.

As they headed to the Key line they were passing through a park. But the lights were in need of maintenance making Diana a little worried.

"Akko, we should take another route. It's a little too dark in some areas for my liking." Said Diana as while the town had a low crime rate, it was still risky.

"Leave it me to Diana." Said Akko as she pulled out her key.

"Oh, key that hides the power of the stars, reveal your true power before me. I, Akko command you under our contract. Release!" Chanted Akko as her staff appeared before her and she gave it a twirl.

"Are you going to use the LIGHT card?" Asked Diana curious.

"No, it's too powerful for something like this. But there's another card that's prefect for this." Said Akko as she pulled out a Clow card as tossed it before herself.

"Card created by Clow, abandon your old form and reincarnate, under the name of Akko, your new master!" Said Akko as she pointed her staff at the card as it transformed into an Akko card.

"Glow illuminate our way." Ordered Akko as balls of light appeared before them.

Diana looked at the balls of light and saw they provided a fair amount of light. And provided a bit of an atmosphere as well.

"Is this ok?" Akko asked Diana curious.

"It is." Said Diana as the two started to walk.

"You know Diana this might sound cheesy, but I feel like we can do anything together." Said Akko out of no where.

"What do you mean?" Asked Diana as she had a blush on her face.

"When I was capturing the cards, I always knew I could do it with my friends at my side. But with you it's different. When we work together, I have no doubt in my mind we can do whatever we're doing." Explained Akko as she felt a little sheepish saying all that.

Diana said nothing as she thought about Akko's words, before speaking herself.

"I understand what you're saying." Started Diana as she had a far off look on her face. "I always strived to be the best. And because of that people put me on a pedestal. But then you showed up and changed everything. Before I knew it, we were standing side by side and I enjoyed that."

Hearing that neither girl knew what to say. It was their first date and they were getting a little heavy.

"You know Diana, I've always wondered what would have happened if you showed up while I was resealing the cards." Said Akko as she pictured herself in whatever costume Tomoyo had for her, Syaoran in his outfit, and Diana staring down a card.

"Me too." Admitted Diana as she had the same picture expect she was in her dress.

"I wonder what you're first card would be. Mine was FLY, Syaoran was TIME, so what do you think your's would be?" Asked Akko curious.

Diana thought about it as there were factors to take into effect.

"I'm not sure. It would be determined by when I got there." Said Diana as she wasn't sure.

"Come on Diana what card you would like to have?" Asked Akko curious.

"The RETURN." Said Diana without a moment's hesitation. Hearing that Akko knew why.

"Just know that card requires a lot of magic. And an anchor." Said Akko confusing Diana.

"An anchor?" Repeated Diana not sure what she meant by that.

"The RETURN can send you as far back as you can given your magic. But it sends you back wherever you are." Started Akko as that last bit confused Diana.

"What do you mean?" Diana asked her curious.

"If I use the RETURN at Luna Nova, say my room. Then I would end up in my room, some years ago." Explained Akko as Diana nodded.

"I see. So the RETURN would send you to the same spot in the past." Said Diana as the same thing happened with her with the TIME card.

"But if you go to a location with a strong magical presence, you can go even father back." Continued Akko as Diana nodded until she realized something.

"Akko what are you planning?" She asked her with a look saying don't lie to me.

Seeing that look Akko sighed.

"I'm thinking of going back in time to see Clow Reed." Said Akko shocking Diana.

"What!? Why!?" Was all she could say as she was not expecting that.

"Because of what's happening. I've been lucky so far that nothing too bad has happened. But how long will that last." Answered Akko as her grip around her staff tightened.

Diana wanted to say something, but Akko had a point. Whoever is doing this is stronger than anyone she knows.

"When will you do it?" Asked Diana curious.

"I don't know." Admitted Akko as she then added. "I first need to find a place I know Clow Reed will be, and I need a power boost."

"Akko." Was all Diana could say as she couldn't imagen the pressure Akko was under. Though she had an idea from that incident with the CHANGE card.

They then arrived at the Key line as Diana got on her broom and Akko used the FLY card.

"Still no luck with a broom." Said Diana as she watched the wings form on Akko's back.

"It's getting better." Said Akko as she can get into position now.

"That's good." Said Diana as Akko drive was something that borders inspiring and crazy.

Soon the two arrived back to the school as they stopped in the courtyard. The two stood there as they didn't know how to end the date.

"I had a wonderful time." Said Diana as she broke the silence.

"Me too." Said Akko with a smile on her face. She was glad Diana enjoyed their date.

"I have to try to do as well for our next one." Said Diana with a smile.

"I look forward to it." Said Akko with a grin on her face.

Then Diana leaned in and gave Akko a quick kiss on her cheek. As this happened Akko's eyes went wide.

"I'll see you around." Said Diana as she turned around and went to her room.

As Diana walked her face was bright red as she couldn't believe she just did that. Though she wouldn't deny it felt nice to do that.

Back with Akko she put a hand to the cheek Diana kissed and smiled.

"That's a nice way to end a date." Said a voice from behind Akko.

"Yeah." Said Akko as she then realized who it was.

"Tomoyo?" Said Akko as she turned around as she was there with Amanda and Kero.

"What?" Was all Akko could say confused.

"I won't lie that's a side of Diana I never thought I'd see." Said Amanda as that just didn't seem like Diana.

'History is repeating itself with these two.' Thought Kero as it was amazing and creepy.

"I just love this photo." Said Tomoyo as she turned her camera around to show Akko Diana kissing Akko on the cheek.

Seeing this Akko's face went beat red.

"Give me that." Said Akko as she went for the camera.

"Nope." Said Tomoyo with a giggle as she gave it Amanda.

Amanda grinned as she held the camera as Akko sighed as she knew she wasn't getting that camera.

"So when's the wedding?" Asked Amanda in a cheeky tone making Akko sigh while Tomoyo giggled.

Though Akko wouldn't have this any other way.

And done. I had a hard time with this chapter as romance isn't something I write. But I like it and I hope you did too. If you have any suggestions for future dates for the two let me know and I'll see if I can use it.

As for the talk with the RETURN card, I'm setting things up for the future. So look forward to it.
