Overlord: The Power of Two Book 1
Chapter 2. A New World
Great Tomb of Nazarick
Floor 5. Colosseum
In the arena of the great enclosure where the members of the legendary guild that was recognized throughout the world, Ainz Ooal Gown, once entertained themselves with exhibition duels between the summons they brought or even those invading guilds that dared to invade them.
Now there were a lot of Zombies in it, and these were accompanied by some mummified corpses of a human, as if all the moisture from their body had evaporated, the skin dried and cracked. In the socket of their empty eyes, there was a slight red tone.
These beings were Lesser Vampires, the lowest category of these beings.
The battalion made up of 50 Undead, were trying to reach a small albino-colored bat, which maneuvered through the air around these creatures. Flying in front of him, on his sides and even passing between his arms and legs.
Until finally the albino bat took flight above, where the Moon projected its shadow. Until it had a glow that was enveloped, before it changed its form to that of Blade Vlad.
"[Volt Wave]", the aforementioned incantation where his left palm launched a purple ray which hit the horde of Undead, causing those closest to the impact to be vaporized, and those furthest away to be thrown around by the force of the impact.
Blade fell to the ground on his feet. Seeing that the Lesser Vampires were the fastest to recover, growling and extending their sharp claws they ran to their enemy.
Vlad in response from his back takes out two twin swords. These had a dull dark color, along with ruby ornaments on the handles as if they were eyes, along with the symbol of his avatar.
Masterfully, he began to defend himself from the attacks of his enemies who were even surrounding him. Blade began to cut their necks, cut them in half and even annihilate them with a kick.
Vlad, now joining both blades of the twin swords, turning it into a double-edged sword, saw the last Zombies in the place.
"[Bat Flight," Blade said, raising his weapon, before throwing it in a spin. This weapon began to spin at high speed as if it were a saw, adding that it took the form of a bat spirit.
This one began to cut the Zombies into pieces with its wings in a way so fast that it was almost imperceptible to the human eye.
Finally the bat began to disappear, the double-edged weapon was seen again still spinning, until Blade, without moving a single centimeter from his position, caught his weapon by its handle.
"I no longer needed to move," Blade said to himself, dismantling his double-edged weapon to turn it into his two swords, and he put them away in their sheaths that he had hidden on his back.
The sounds of applause began to be heard in the place. Blade looked slightly to his side, remembering that he was not alone in the place.
Those who applauded were two exceptionally beautiful women with crimson eyes, wearing white dresses. These were not humans, but Vampires too, more specifically Vampire Brides.
Next to them was one of the guardians of the 6th Floor of Nazarick; Aura Bella Fiora. She and her twin, Mare Bello Fiore, are two Dark Elves, in which their personalities are quite contrary to each other, as well as each having different abilities. But the most important thing…
"Buku Chan. I will never understand why you dressed them like that," thought Blade, because Bukubukuchagama, the creator of the Elf twins, dressed Aura as a man, despite being a girl. While with Mare it was the opposite, he is a boy who wears a skirt.
The most logical thing would be to change them, but he and Momonga will not do it for different reasons:
1st.- Their creator was Bukubukuchagama, and out of respect for their friend from the guild to keep his wishes, they will not do it.
2nd.- They offered them the freedom to change, but the twin duo refused, because for them it is a reminder of their Master Buku.
3rd.- They couldn't force them to do something against their will.
"Wonderful display of skills, Lord Vlad!" the Elf praised Vlad as she came to stand in front of him.
"Thank you, Aura," Blade bowed slightly.
"Although I still don't understand why you came to waste your time fighting these low-level Undead," Aura said, looking at the annihilated corpses.
Blade was thinking about his answer, "It will never be a 'waste of time' to stay in shape. A true warrior never stops improving."
"Oh of course! Such wise words, but I'm not surprised coming from one of the Supreme Beings!", Aura answers with a smile of admiration.
"He believed it…although it is partly true," Blade thinks.
Also while he saw how Aura, and even the Vampire Brides bowed before his presence, he couldn't help but remember what happened a couple of days ago.
Flashback
Everything happened minutes after he and Momonga discovered that they had now become their avatars from the video game. They were at first worried about how it worked now, or even if they were still in the same game.
Another concern they had was about how the NPCs of the Tomb of Nazarick behave now, because if they can now think for themselves, are they still loyal to them?
The answer was answered when the twins showed great respect to the two, especially Momonga.
Suddenly, a portal opened and a beautiful young woman appeared, with pale white skin and crimson red eyes, much like Blade's.
"Oh, I'm the first to appear," Shalltear questioned.
"Greetings Shalltear, thank you for coming on such short notice," Blade greets.
She just smiles at him, but launches herself straight towards the skeleton present, "My beloved and beautiful Momonga. The only being I cannot possess," she expresses as she wrapped her hands around Momonga's neck.
"What the...?!" the aforementioned one thought.
"Did you make her perverted too?!" Blade accuses telepathically.
"I don't know what you mean!" Momonga replies also telepathically.
"Stop bothering him already," Aura tells Shalltear. At which point she lets go of him, and turns to look at her.
"Huh, what was that, shorty? I really pity you, Mare, for having such a pesky older sister," Shalltear shot back, while Aura bit her lower lip. But she relaxed as she thought of the worst insult someone could say to a woman.
"Fake tits."
"What?!"
"Looks like I hit the nail on the head, huh? Is that why you teleported to the center of the coliseum? Were you afraid to run because of how much you stuffed that bra of yours?" Aura asked with a small evil smile.
Shalltear, who at this point had crossed her arms to cover herself, glared at her angrily.
"Your case is even worse! Tablet Girl!" Shalltear replied.
But Aura was confident, "I'm only 76 years old and still growing, you, on the other hand, are already past your expiration date," she said in a mocking tone.
"I've had enough!" Shalltear bellowed as she went to face the Dark Elf.
Momonga and Blade remained silent throughout, analyzing the situation. Perroncino was the creator of Shalltear, while her older sister was the creator of the twins. It seemed that the personalities of each of the NPCs that their friends had named them had somehow been preserved.
"That's enough for you two, this is not the time for your bickering," Blade spoke, both Aura and Shalltear stopped abruptly and turned to him and quickly bowed.
"Of course, Lord Vlad," they spoke at the same time.
"It's embarrassing to behave like children fighting in front of the two of our supreme beings," a new voice was heard. It was a large beetle-shaped warrior with blue armor.
"It's okay Cocytus. It's good to see that you've arrived," Momonga said.
"Wherever you call me, I'll be there," Cocytus replied.
"I beg you to excuse our delay," a new voice spoke. This was Demiurge, an extremely brilliant strategist, as well as one of the oldest and most powerful NPCs in the place.
Momonga and Blade saw that he and Albedo were arriving. The aforementioned guardians, along with the rest of the guardians, lined up before kneeling down.
"Our lives are at your complete disposal. We serve and obey the supreme beings who created us," Albedo proclaimed.
"We serve and obey," the other guardians present repeated.
There was a small silence, where the first to react was Momonga, who extended his arms to his side, extremely excited and ecstatic by what he heard.
"It makes my heart happy to hear your words! There is no doubt that each and every one of you will perfectly fulfill whatever we want!"
The guardians smiled at his words, "…We do not doubt the kindness of your words, but there are more important things to deal with now," he said with an iridian aura around him, looking more intimidating.
The same thing had happened with Momonga, both of them wondering where the hell that came from.
Momonga turned to the side, where Sebas was standing near a pillar. After a conversation, he reported the situation.
"Plains?" Momonga and Blade said at the same time.
"That's right, my Lords. We are surrounded by grassy plains, stretching at least a kilometer around Nazarick in all directions," Sebas reported.
The two remained silent at the information. The Great Tomb of Nazarick SHOULD be in the middle of a cursed forest, filled with graveyards with traps for enemy Guilds.
"We are no longer in YGGDRASIL," the two thought.
"Other than that, have you seen anything else?"
"No, Lord Vlad. I haven't been able to spot a single human settlement, creature, or monster for miles around," Sebas reported.
"Good job Sebas. We're clearly not in Yggdrasil anymore, no one seems to have any idea how this happened I suppose," Momonga asked and everyone seemed to exchange a few glances with each other.
"Forgive me Lord Momonga, but it seems no one knows how or why we've been teleported to this strange land," Albedo spoke up.
"Very well, for the moment, we all do not know what this world has in store for us and for the moment I will consider the security of Nazarick, we will also need a way to hide the entrance to our tomb, any ideas on that," Momonga asks again.
"Mare. Do you have anything to say?" Blade said, noticing that the Elf was hesitant to speak.
"Hiding Nazarick with Magic would be difficult, but we can cover our walls with earth, with plants, and raise surrounding hills to better blend in with our surroundings," Mare suggested.
"Would you stain the glorious walls of Nazarick with dirt?" Albedo intervened.
"Enough Albedo, do not speak without our permission," Momonga said firmly.
"Yes. I beg your pardon, Lord Momonga."
"Also, Mare's plan is something we support," Blade spoke, Momonga slightly nodding her head, "We will cover the walls with dirt, along with also creating hills to go unnoticed. Along with creating illusions for the most vulnerable areas that we cannot cover."
"Understood Lord Vlad," Mare replied.
Blade remained silent for a moment, "Momo Chan, I hope you forgive me for what I am going to offer you," he communicated telepathically.
"What are you talking about, Blade Chan?"
The Vampire in response, created a small vortex, large enough for his hand to enter, and then took out a small wooden box. Momonga immediately knew what it was, but he didn't say anything against it.
"Due to these new circumstances, I wish to bestow upon all of our Guardians a ring of Ainz Ooal Gown," Blade spoke, revealing that the contents of the box contained 39 magic rings.
But they weren't just any rings, these belonged to each of the guild members. They allowed them to freely teleport throughout the Tomb of Nazarick. Immediately, the Guardians looked at him in surprise.
"But those are the rings that only supreme beings use, we are not worthy of such an honor," Albedo spoke quickly.
"You think too little of yourself, at this moment we unfortunately have more rings than supreme beings present in Nazarick, and I believe that everyone will be able to complete their tasks more efficiently with free teleportation around the tomb." Blade replied.
"In that case, we will accept this great honor, Lord Vlad," Albedo said once more, which was reciprocated by the smile of each of the Guardians.
"However, there are still areas that are completely strict off-limits. Like the treasury, and the 8th Floor. You can only enter if we authorize it," Momonga spoke.
Some of them looked confused, but none dared to question the decision of a supreme being, "And to finish, I am very curious to hear what you all think of me, Shalltear, and please be honest," Momonga requested.
Blade looked at his friend with a 'Really?' expression, but boy was he surprised when each of the guardians unconditionally praised Momonga. And he was even intrigued to hear from some of them how they call the two of them 'Supreme Beings'.
"I... I see, thank you all for your honesty, for now return to your floors, with the exception of you Mare, I want you to begin covering our location immediately. You may withdraw."
Momonga immediately teleported away, followed by Blade who followed him.
The Duo reached the 9th Floor, almost by the entrance to the Throne Room on the top floor.
"You seem to be held in high regard," Blade notes.
Momonga hunched over and held his face in one hand, "He really is…we are…we are the true leaders of Nazarick," Momonga said with a glint in his eyes.
End Of Flashback
Since that event, 3 days have passed. Days in which they accepted that they became Blade Vlad and Momonga, Sovereign of the Vampires, and the King of the Undead respectively. Days in which they have become accustomed to their new appearances. Days in which they discovered that they have the abilities of their characters' video games. Days in which they discovered that the items in their inventories still possessed them.
Although at the same time with distinctive differences; For example, Momonga does not feel sleep, nor hunger, nor embodied emotions such as lust have subsided. The opposite case of Blade, who despite being a Vampire, feels hunger, sleep and even lust, although he did not possess it as much as when he was a normal human.
A fact that undoubtedly left the two confused.
"There must be an important reason, one that we have not considered," Blade said as he walked through the halls of the 9th Floor. He was on his way to see Momonga.
During these days, Blade also wanted to buy the strength he had, now discovering his Vampire abilities and even his technique with his swords. Meanwhile, Momonga has been in charge of keeping Nazarick hidden.
When he walked, Blade felt that someone was following him. The Vampire turned around, unsheathing one of his swords.
"Whoever is there, appear," he ordered, looking at one of the columns in the hallway. A figure appeared from the shadow of it, which made Blade open his eyes slightly.
It was a man with an athletic and muscular build. He wore a dark jacket with a metal mesh underneath. He wore tight pants also in a strong black color, as well as a long scarf around his neck. His face was covered from nose to neck by a metal mask, which also had a hood on his head, leaving only intense white eyes visible. His appearance could be distinguished from a Ninja.
"Saibot," Balde said in surprise. He was already wondering when the NPC he had created was going to appear, watching as the aforementioned one knelt down.
"I am pleased to know that your survival instincts remain as admirable as ever, my creator," Saibot said with the utmost respect.
"Uh, yes, of course. Good job on your infiltration," Blade praised.
"I am honored by your words," Saibot continued to look at the floor, "I would like to continue following my lord. I understand that it might be a selfish request, so I will understand if you refuse."
Blade looked at him curiously. It was almost as if he were looking at his son, and truth be told, since this was the NPC he created, he recognized that he held him in high regard.
"For the moment I will deny your request. But I have an important mission for you. Mare is outside the tomb taking care that Nazarick has the perfect camouflage to avoid surprise attacks from this new world we find ourselves in. Protect it from any danger."
"At your command, my creator," Salbot replies.
"Although before you go, I need to ask you a question. Are you loyal to me and to Momonga?" Blade questions.
Salbot cast his gaze firmly, "I, Salbot, leader of the Shadow Clan, am willing to give my life to protect the Supreme Beings who gave us life. I would die for any of the 41 and kill anyone for you, my creator. I will always remain faithful to your cause," he answered with conviction.
Blade immediately smiled pleased by his answer. He now understood what his friend felt when the guardians flattered him.
"Perfect. You can go fulfill your mission."
"I will not disappoint you," Salbot answers, before with a movement of his fingers, disappearing from the shadows.
At that very moment, Momonga communicates with his friend, "I am going to get some fresh air, will you join me?" he offers telepathically.
"Of course," Blade answers, before using his guild ring to teleport away.
1st Floor of the Tomb of Nazarick
The duo of friends instantly appeared in a dark hallway, and when they climbed the stairs, it wouldn't be long before they were outside. Something that intrigued them a lot, because since they arrived in this new world, they haven't left the Tomb of Nazarick.
"And that armor?" Blade asks. Momonga in response takes it off to return to his true appearance.
"I just wanted to try and experiment," the aforementioned answers.
"I understand you. Teleportation still feels strange. Compared to the game, everything in front of my eyes changes instantly," Blade said.
Just as they climbed the stairs, they came across the path blocked by three powerful demons.
"Jealousy, Greed, and Wrath," Momonga remembered as he saw three generals in charge of Demiurge. Wondering why they were there.
"Hmm… big breasts," Blade briefly thought to the female member of the demons, immediately getting a zap in his head at his thought.
Meanwhile, the demons knelt down, Demiurge who was nearby also noticed this, so he imitated the action.
"Lord Momonga. Lord Vlad, what are you doing here on the first floor, and without an escort?"
"Hmm… there is a personal reason there," Momonga replies.
"I see. As expected of the great ruler of the Supremes. You want to check out the progress of Nazarick's camouflage for yourself. Your attention to detail is impeccable," Demiurge flatters.
"What are you talking about, I just wanted to get some fresh air?" Momonga thought to himself.
"However, I cannot allow our two Supremes to go out unprotected," Demiurge speaks.
"Very well. You can accompany us, Envy can also come," Blade said calmly. Momonga simply continued walking in the company of his friend.
"Thank you very much for listening and accepting my words," Demiurge spoke.
As the two Supreme Beings passed them, Demiurge stood up, along with Envy. The duo walked further behind Momonga and Blade.
"So, do you have any fetishes that I don't know about?" Momonga telepathically mocks his friend.
"Says the guy who altered Albedo's settings," Blade counters. The duo chuckled lightly to themselves.
As they reached the exit of the tomb, they were met with a wonderful sight. To the point that both of their pupils grew. Not only was the air as clean as he had ever smelled, but above was something so wonderful that it left anyone perplexed.
A bright blue sky stretched out before him. It was so clear that it made all the constellations and stars in the firmament shine in a glorious way that would make anyone fall in love.
"[Flight," Momonga cast a spell. To which he quickly flew through the air.
Blade spread his arms which manifested like those of a bat, and took flight as well. Further behind, Demourge ordered Envy to wait, before beginning to transform.
Finally, Blade managed to catch up to Momonga so that they could both break through a few clouds present. The duo took in the view from the heights of the vast New World.
"We can see very far with just the light of the moon and the stars," Momonga spoke.
"It is very… beautiful," Blade murmured.
"The stars shine like diamonds in the sky," Momonga expressed.
"Indeed if you will allow me my word, my lords," Demiurge spoke behind the duo. The aforementioned was in his demon form.
"This new world shines in such a way that you and Nazarick can adorn yourselves with its riches. Conquer this world for yourselves," the demon offers. Both remained silent at his words.
Blade was deep in thought, "Conquer it?...I intended only to know it and explore it," the Vampire thought.
"Perhaps it will be fun," Momonga spoke, surprising the Vampire present.
"I wish to spread the name of Nazarick to every corner of this world, perhaps the best way to do so is by conquering, it could even be fun," Momonga answers Demiurge, who smiled pleased by his answer.
"Conquer it?" Blade speaks telepathically without seeing his friend.
"I only consider... will we be the only ones from Yggdrasil who reach this New World? If someone is very far from our location I want them to find us. If we make the name of Ains Ooal Gown resonate throughout the world…".
"They will find us," Blade finished his words.
The duo continued to contemplate the sky. Wondering if they are the only ones who have arrived at this new place…
(-)(-)(-)
A couple of kilometers from the place, in an open field we see a bunch of horses galloping through the place. Their riders were humans in knight armor. All wearing a symbol on their chests.
In a higher area, we see those who must command the troops, "Tomorrow at dawn we will attack the next village," said the battalion commander with a wicked smile.
