Maybourne had had them escorted out, claiming he needed to start an investigation and since General Hammond had warned them before they'd left the Cheyenne Mountain Complex where the Stargate Program was that this was strictly a fact finding mission because they didn't have the authority to arrest anyone outside their base, the four of them had no choice but to leave and make a report to General Hammond. Unfortunately they never made it back to the airport.

Two black SUVs with equally black windows approached them from both head on and from behind and forced O'Neil to pull over to avoid a collision. "Stay calm, everyone." The Colonel murmured. "Give them enough rope to hang themselves." He was referring to the camera that was mounted on the dashboard. The invisible camera. Xander had been impressed with how quickly Colonel O'Neill had come up with a plan and how willing he'd been to let Xander use Magic to help them.

O'Neill had been impressed with Xander's willingness to play bait, but he'd been concerned that Xander didn't really understand what could happen if things went sideways.

"I could die." Xander answered. "I could be tortured. I'll probably have to defend myself. Besides Magic I've been studying martial arts and I can use a crossbow and an ax to split skulls if necessary, as well as a sword. Not that I have any of them with me. But I'm not helpless, Colonel, I promise."

"You could end up in a life or death situation." Daniel warned him.

"Our war has been largely quiet for the last year, aside from the crazy Mayor who wanted to rule the world, but prior to that I did fight." Xander assured him. "And that was before I started studying Magic, plus I've been a hostage before too. I got out of it and survived. If I die, Cordy'll find a way to resurrect me just so she can kick my ass to show how pissed off she is with me. An angry Cordy is scarier, trust me on that."

"We've all been married." O'Neill smirked at him. "Trust us, we know."

"Indeed."

Xander really hoped Colonel O'Neill was right and these idiots weren't going to risk killing SG 1 to get what they wanted as he forced himself to not stop the men who got out of the SUVs and shot them with something that might be a very weird looking stun gun. Him, he knew they wanted alive. He woke up tied to a chair.

"Ah, come on, can't you at least try to be original?" He glared into the shadows around him. "Kidnap, tie up, it screams cliche. Next you'll be telling me no one knows where I am and since I don't exist, sorta, anyway around here you can do whatever you want until I tell my secrets, right?"

"You seemed to have read the script already." A voice came out of the shadows. "I should probably add that we searched you and except for the bracelet you were wearing we found nothing of any interest." Well, that was because he'd hidden the Eye in the seat of their car. Invisible or not, they would have felt it when they searched him. He intended to get it back first thing. "So we know you're not wearing a wire. If you're counting on Colonel O'Neill and SG 1 to save you, they'd have to find you first and they have no way of doing that."

"You sure about that? I might have given them something." Like the fact the bracelets could track each other. Unless Maybourne was hiding in the shadows they might not catch him, but they'd catch whoever was in the shadows. Speaking of shadows..."It's a little dark in here, did you forget to pay your electric bill?"

"I suggest you start taking this seriously, Mr. Harris."

"Oh, there's no need to insult me, I'm not my father. And why should I? I just have to wait you out. Entropic cascade failure will catch up to me long before you get anywhere near getting me to tell you anything. I got to tell ya, General Hammond, Colonel O'Neill, they make a good impression regarding your reality, you guys not so much."

"We are fighting a war, Mr. Harris. Do you have any idea what that means? We need weapons to fight the Goa'uld, you could supply us with those weapons."

"You're not fighting anything." Xander responded coldly. "The people in that Mountain are fighting, you're armchair quarterbacking. Have you ever personally fought in a war? Actually fired on your enemy, watched the light go out of their eyes?"

"I suppose you're going to tell me you have?"

"Since three weeks passed my sixteenth birthday when I destroyed a monster wearing my brother's face. One year ago tomorrow I destroyed tens of thousands of our enemy. And a few months ago I personally destroyed a conspirator. Yes, I have and am fighting in a war."

"Quite a resume for one so young. Than you understand doing what's necessary to ensure the survival of your people."

"I understand, I just don't agree with your methods. You know I really don't like the fact that I can't see who I'm talking to, why don't we do something about that? By the seven suns of Cinnibus!"

He wondered if he shouldn't have figured out how to scale that spell down to just the light of one sun as he teleported blind, both literally and figuratively and prayed he didn't materialize inside anything.
