Sven watched the royal soldiers search for the real Selena and Yzak only to find multiple cars coming out of the hidden garage by the secret ramp that led down to it. The cars were taking off in all directions. He let out a chuckle as he watched the guards trying to figure out which one to follow. He then frowned as he had just realized he would be doing all the work now. Not that he didn't mind, but he wanted a few days to himself too. He walked away from the window to get back to work.
Invitations to come to the Kingdom were sent to those who were involved in this militant uprising. The people involved came a month later, as they were instructed. Sven met with Athrun, Cagalli, Kira, Lacus, Mu, Murrue, and Andrew. He met them at a safe house in the nearby city close to the private mansion. They were all curious as to why they were called. The group was sitting in the living room.
"Thank you all for coming," Sven explained as he stood at the front. "This is a safe house but it functions to let those that need to be safe from knowing others like us are watching them. We don't like to disrupt the fragile and innocent. I will need Cagalli in Room 1. Kira in Room 2. Mu, Room 3, then Murrue would also be in Room 3 after some time. Athrun Room 4. Kira could also head to Room 4 after he is finished in Room 2. Andrew Room 5. Lacus, I guess you're just here for moral support." Lacus gave a comforting smile. She was still invited but she was not there for the same purpose as the others. "I will instruct each of you into the rooms. So, with that, Cagalli, you are first. Let's head to Room 1." Cagalli gave a look to Athrun. He squeezed her hand, letting her know he was there for her. Cagalli stood up, and headed to where Sven had his hand pointed to.
The group was curious as to what needs to be shown. Sven let Cagalli enter the room first after he showed her the way. There was a window that showed another room. Inside the room were ten cylinders of artificial wombs with ten babies growing inside.
"I know what it may look like," Sven explained as he motioned for her to sit. Cagalli sat down. "Anita retrieved these children from the compound. Ra, trying to play God, was using his capabilities to bring children into the world. Four of these children are yours." He let that sentence sink in. Cagalli stood straight up. She headed over to the window, pressing her palms upon it. Staring in disbelief.
"Is..is this why I was abducted?" Cagalli lowered her head.
"Yes," Sven nodded. "Your eggs were retrieved and this is the result. Four healthy children from two different fathers."
"Huh?" Cagalli jerked her head to him. "Two?"
Sven came closer. "Yes. From his notes, he wanted to know what would happen with two Naturals whose genetics were subpar compared to their counterparts. He then wondered the outcome of a failed ultimate Coordinator and the sister of the Ultimate Coordinator would result. One set of children are Naturals, and the other set Coordinators."
"Who-who are the fathers?" Cagalli wanted to know.
"The first is Mu La Flaga," Sven answered. "The second is Canard Pars." Cagalli moved away to sit back down. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Sven stood by the window. "This isn't about questioning if you are going to take responsibility over them or not. This is just to inform you. These children are innocent. Whatever you choose in the future when the time comes to choose, we will understand. Regardless of what happens, these children will know love. Eventually one day they will be told the truth when they are able to comprehend and understand, but for now. Please take all the time you need in here to process this."
Sven left the room. He headed out to see Kira was anxious. Once Kira saw Sven, he jumped up ready to head into his room. Sven wondered how this was going to play out. Sven shut the door with Kira looking at a similar situation.
"He did this, didn't he?" Kira saw the babies.
"Yes," Sven came over to him.
"Why?" Kira couldn't help but think about his situation.
"Similar to your own situation," Sven informed him. "Ra wanted to make his own ultimate genetics. You are the father of two of these children." Sven watched for a reaction. Kira looked disappointed for a bit before going back to his regular self.
"Who is the mother?" Kira looked at each of the children.
"Selena," Sven answered.
Kira blushed from embarrassment. "What?!" He looked over to Sven, about to say he never had any relations with his sister.
Sven wanted to laugh. "He took your sperm without you knowing, Kira. We know you were never with my sister in that sort of sense. But did you think it would have been someone else? Ra believed you and my sister to be the top genetics after his predecessor. He wanted to know what would happen when you combined them. I am only here to inform you of the situation. You do not have to choose right now about any responsibility over them, just of their existence. Please take time this time to process this." Sven left Kira staring at the children. Sven headed back to the group.
"Looks like I'm next," Mu was ready to go. Sven came back to have him follow into Room 3. He explained to Mu about having 4 children. This gave a surprise to Mu. Sven informed him about the two mothers. Mu was surprised about it. "Well, now those can say I have children somewhere." He tried to lighten the mood.
"Ra's notes told us he felt a bit guilty but also wanted see if maybe your offspring would produce better genetics," Sven explained. "Offspring with Cagalli, who was the sibling to the Ultimate Coordinator, and offspring with Murrue, a random Natural. Ra was debating on wanting to fix both genetics to see how the children would be but that was later after the first children were born."
"You're saying he wanted to produce more children," Mu couldn't believe it.
"Yes," Sven looked to the children. "A man with the capabilities to play God, he had all sorts of ideas. I will bring in Murrue to inform her next." Sven left to bring her back. Mu held onto Murrue as she couldn't believe it. She looked to Mu, who only nodded. Sven repeated what he told the rest of them. Leaving the two to process it.
Sven went back to the room to see Athrun was standing, ready to go. Sven took him to the opposite side of the room. Athrun was confused yet still followed.
"Wait," Athrun asked before Sven opened the room. "How come it's you and not Selena?"
"After finishing her task sent forth by our parents, she is on a much needed vacation," Sven explained. "I also need to get back to my duties for being away for so long, but seeing as how you're asking for her, I'll make a note that she will interact with you mostly."
"Wait, no," Athrun refuted. He knew Sven was teasing. "And Yzak?" Athrun continued. "Did he get to leave?"
Sven smiled. "Yes. Yzak is gone as well. Any more questions, Athrun?" Ahrun shook his head. "Good. Before we enter, this room only allows you to see into it. The people inside cannot see you. This is for both parties." Sven opened the door, letting Athrun head in first. Athrun saw what he meant, and went straight to the window. Sven closed the door behind him. "Selena brought him back on one of her missions. The skirmish with the Minerva that headed for the Kingdom, this was why. Inside the torpedoes, Selena brought three others back with her. Next to him, is the man you took down." Athrun froze. "Hence, why Kira is allowed to come into this room as well." Sven came over to stand by the window. "You've read files on these type of people before, mostly the ones who could not take they are alive again when they should be dead. However, the process changed a bit. Ra played God and brought several people back to life. His experiments on them showed that if you tell them, they have a hard time dealing with it but if you let them be, they can live just fine. Nicol doesn't know much, as he is in an amnesia like state, how most of them are when they come out of the process. My favorite things about these cases are that we don't tell these people who they are, they tell us. Which defers from Ra's. Ra had a person act like people close to them, trying to bring out their memories. Don't know the results as we stopped it before he could finish it." Athrun had tears running down his face. "He chose his name. He continues to play the piano. He's older now but knows he's missing something. Him and Tolle are best friends. They depend on each other a lot. You can visit him like this any time you want. We can even send up updates. His parents know and have been doing the same." Athrun kept staring at the man he once thought was dead. "Take as much time to process this as you need."
Sven saw that Kira was out already. He showed Kira the same room, and explained the same thing. Kira dropped to his knees, crying as he saw Tolle and Nicol were alive. Kira wished the foes he had taken down were given a second chance like this. Sven left the two crying men who had lost their friends by taking the other down. It was almost a full circle, however when the two learn what happened to them, would they forgive those that struck them down?
Sven went back to the room to see Andrew and Lacus. Lacus knew that she would be the last. Andrew followed him to Room 5.
"I'm a little worried," Andrew teased.
"Don't worry Space Flamingo," Sven smirked. "You'll be fine. Now, remember your answer on whether you would heal your body parts again." Andrew was about to speak up but Sven stopped him. "There is nothing wrong with the process. Some of my internal organs are new. Thanks to technology. I can don't have to worry about my diet since I don't have to have shortened intestines or part of a liver. Now, before we enter, remember your answer. Because you can always change it and we won't look down on you if you do." Sven opened the door. He let Andrew enter first.
Andrew couldn't believe what he was seeing. "This is real? This isn't one of your tricks?"
"No," Sven shook his head. "They are the real thing. I am honored that I got to be the person to show you that this is your love of your life, Aisha, and your son, Artorius, Arty for short." Andrew started to cry; he knees starting to buckle. "Ra played God, and this was one of his first miracles. Aisha was with child during the last battle. Ra performed his work, and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She needed no saving, as she escaped on her own with son in arms. She trekked across South America and headed to the Kingdom."
"H-how did she know to go there?" Andrew wiped away his tears.
"Because the three of us have hypnotized the ones we care about," Sven explained. "If something bad happens and you need to escape to a place that will safe guard you, a small voice will lead you to the Kingdom." Andrew looked at his reflection to see his scars and remaining limb of an arm. "She still loves you. The first toy she held in her hands for your son when she shopped in our protected store for people like her, was a stuffed tiger. She chose a green jacket like the one you used to wear in the desert. You can live here in our Kingdom to watch over them. She doesn't remember like the rest of them. However, they try to remember things. Arty is close to Andy but she has yet to know that nickname. We limit people around her, along with certain names. We don't want to disrupt their world too much." Andrew kept watching the interaction between her and his son. "I will leave you now, to let you process this. Take as much time as you need."
Sven headed back to see Lacus still waiting. Sven sat down next to her. She patted his shoulder. "You're doing really well since you came back from a near death incident" Lacus comforted him.
"How are you doing?" Sven looked over to her, giving her a small smile.
"Happier now that the two of us no longer have to put up this façade," Lacus leaned back in the chair, relaxing. "It took many years, but now both of our goals have been accomplished. I'm ready for the two of us to be friends again. I had been worried that maybe she actually didn't want to be my friend at all and this was all a setup. I had many thoughts like that. It was something we agreed upon as children but seeing everything she has been through it was something she wanted me to feel. I see now all the strings she pulled behind the scenes to get the outcome she wanted."
"You're not the least curious as to what has gone on here?" Sven motioned to the rooms around them.
"I know the Kingdom is a safe place," Lacus explained. "Whatever you have showed them, is something they needed to know. I will know eventually when the time is right."
"Lacus," Sven gave her a disappointed look. "You can get angry at her. She put us through a lot."
Lacus let out a laugh. "I know, and I shall, but I can't get too angry. Look at the peace she kept." Some of the others started coming out of the rooms. "I've always known she was good but I never knew she was this good. She knew exactly how to get us to do what she wanted."
"What?!" Athrun didn't like what he was hearing. "What do you mean by that?"
Sven answered before Lacus could. "Simple. If it wasn't for my carelessness, this issue would not have blown up as it had, but Sel still came on top. She knew exactly how to get to her outcome." He wanted to speak to Lacus more, hoping they would get more time.
"By threatening Lacus?!" Athrun came over to him. Sven stood up since he did not want to be literally talked down to.
"They had a chess game," Kira was wiping tears from eyes. "I-I killed her though."
"You didn't actually kill her," Andrew came back to sit down. "I have some of her stunts worked out but not all. But Kira, she was never in that ZAKU."
"Well, she was for a few seconds," Sven corrected. "She had to place the helmet and suit inside. It was equipped with sensors, so she couldn't get around that. However, we were all played by her, since she made us move to her invisible strings."
"Basically, puppets to her," Mu was pulling Murrue by the hand. She too was wiping her tears like Kira.
"Was there no other way?" Murrue was sat down with Mu brushing her hair out of her face. She was still not over the revelation of that she had become a mother unknowingly.
"There were," Sven moved to the front. "However, Selena makes her path by the highest probability and how it will affect future events."
"Then did she actually need those things that she took before ZAFT?" Cagalli was the last one to come back.
"No," Sven beamed. "But it did help with her path to peace. Stirring emotions." He looked over to Athrun. "Calm and collected doesn't bend as much compared to emotions that are high and tense."
"So, we all got played then," Athrun frowned.
"Yes," Sven nodded. "You were the easiest to manipulate. Selena used your dissatisfaction of her to help make the argument that she was the enemy. Which helped Kira finally get the nerve to strike her down."
"Sh-she wanted me to strike her down?" Kira couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Yes," Sven nodded again. "And I undoubtedly lost another bet to her because of that but that's for another time." Andrew was intrigued, he wanted to know about the bet that was placed. Sven further explained that they can stay longer in the Kingdom, as well as make arrangements to their situations. Staff would be waiting for them outside when Sven left.
A few days later, Sven got to have Lacus for himself. He escorted her to a town that was solely for of new immigrants. In the town center, was a statue of her father. The two stopped in front of it.
"Honoring Siegel Clyne," Lacus read out loud. "Who helped get Coordinators autonomy and independence by cofounding ZAFT, paving the way for PLANTs to be its own entity. We will remember his legacy, as he gave his all to bring peace to those oppressed who only wanted to live amongst the rest." Lacus felt many emotions. It was a nice gesture. She read his birth and death dates, along with stating that he was born in the Kingdom, and was still a citizen.
"I know how much you want to continue on his legacy," Sven looked at her. "We will always have your back, and the Kingdom will always be a home to you." Lacus looked over to him, her eyes brimming with tears. "I have one more thing to show you," Sven explained. He led her on to other place where there was a wall full of names. It was those who lost their lives in the name of peace. Lacus saw that her parents names were both on there. "We want to honor those who continue to fight for peace. Their country may think of them as an enemy but we will always think of them as someone who fought for peace."
