Kazuto/Asuna's Big Day ~ February 14th, 2025:
Valentine's Day arrived in Tokyo, where couples exchange gifts with each other and express their love. However, on this day, it was very special indeed. The Yuuki manor is crowded as a special event is taking place... A wedding ceremony for both Kazuto and Asuna.
In Asuna's bedroom, the bride herself was being dressed, and by none other than her faithful and healed maid, Sada.
'I can't believe this is happening.' Asuna thought happily as she observed herself in the full-body mirror. She was dressed in a pure white dress that hugged her body. It was a beautiful as she had imagined it would. Anderson had Trinity take her measurements one week before and had a wedding dress made to fit her.
"Dear, you look absolutely gorgeous," Sada preened happily.
"T-Thanks, Sada..." Asuna replied, trying not to choke up in happy tears.
There was a knock on the door. "Asuna," it was her mother.
"You can come in, mother." Asuna called out. Kyouko came in, and she was taken in by the sight of her daughter in her wedding colors. Deep down, she was proud that her daughter's new future with her beloved. Asuna was positively brilliant and shining in the light with her dress. Her long, hazelnut hair behind the veil also matched perfectly with the dress.
Still, it was unique in that it appeared to be a bit armored with red bits in places like the chest piece and gloves. Kyouko knew that it was based off of her old outfit from SAO, the Knights of the Blood guild.
"Hello Asuna," Kyouko greeted with a small smile. "I can see that you're loving the wedding dress."
"I love it, mom." Asuna smiled.
Sada beamed as she did the last of Asuna's hair and veil, "I think it suits you, dear. Pretty, elegant, with a touch of strength and dignity."
"Kazuto-kun's gonna love it." Kyouko added. Asuna got up and twirled her dress. She had a bit of an amazon look to her wedding dress.
"I know that he will..." Asuna agreed.
"He'd better not bleed out from how hot you look," Sada joked.
"Sada," Asuna giggled with a blush and a wave.
Even Kyouko chuckled at Sada's joke. "He'd better not after all that he's done."
"I'm sure that he'll be the happiest young man to ever stand under the altar." Sada reassures with a smile. Asuna's face lit up at the thought of seeing Kazuto at the altar in the backyard soon.
Outside in the backyard:
The entire backyard of the Yuuki manor has been transformed into the altar, all of the chairs and tables have been arranged. Kazuto stood tall at the altar, with Alex standing next to him. Kazuto couldn't believe that this day has finally arrived, it felt like it's all a dream.
In attendance were a number of his friends, old and new from SAO and ALO. This also includes the small division of military officers. There were Japanese police and military security around the area, with the rest being guest officers of both the Japanese and American forces.
Speaking of Americans...
Colonel Steve Rogers, Captains Chris Burke and Thomas Anderson, and Lieutenant Jack Preston walked up to the altar, dressed in their formal military uniforms to fine form.
"Quite a gathering, huh?" Anderson chuckled as he observed the crowd.
Kazuto felt sheepish as he smiled.
"Hmm... your tuxedo is rather embellished," Chris bluntly stated as he observed some armored bits and gloves on Kazuto's tuxedo.
"It's a unique design, if I do say so myself..." Anderson remarked with a grin. "After all, both Kazuto and Asuna requested that it'll be a themed wedding..."
"Really?" Chris looked to Kazuto and Alex.
"That's right, captain." Alex nodded. "And it's very fitting for us."
"Not exactly conventional," Chris reminded, "but then again, you kids are hardly that."
"It's the least her parents could do for us." Kazuto explained.
Colonel Rogers smiled. "I speak for myself and many in Howler Platoon to say that we are happy and proud for you."
"And we thank you for helping us setting up the wedding, Anderson-san." Kazuto replied.
"Think nothing of it." Anderson smiled. "After everything, it was the least I could do for the both of you."
"And also," Alex added with a chuckle, "Valentine's Day will be easy for you to remember your wedding anniversary." He patted Kazuto on the back. "Not to mention that it'll be very special for you two."
"Yes, and for many others," Kazuto said as he nodded towards the crowds.
"Also, I've taken the liberty of setting up hologram projectors so that both your AI daughters can attend." Anderson stated. As if on cue, Strea and Yui manifested as solid holograms in their dresses.
"Hi Daddy and Uncle Alex!" They sang.
"Yui, Strea," Kazuto laughed.
"It's good to have you two here." Alex smiled.
"Yes we are," Strea chimed, "and I can't wait to find Nathan!"
"The others are still inside as I recall." Alex said.
Strea turned towards the mansion. She was aware that Nathan told his family about her days prior to the wedding.
Yui beamed as she saw her mother's house. "I can hardly wait for the wedding for both mommy and daddy!" She cheered.
Chris watch all of this with some bitter sweetness in his depths... everyone seemed to have a Valentine to look forward to.
It was then Anderson asks Rogers. "So... Any plans with Sharon for Valentine's Day?"
Roger gave a knowing smile.
Anderson nodded with a smirk. "Good to know, and I've made plans with Jenny as well..."
Colonel Rogers' phone then beeped. He sees that the caller's Sharon and he answers it. "Hi Sharon."
"Hello Steve, you know that we are in Japan right?" Sharon said.
"That is true..." Rogers agreed.
"There has been a change in the itinerary," Sharon indicated, "your should be getting your new orders from Okinawa soon."
"Understood." Steve was a bit surprised, but he appreciated what Sharon was communicating. "Did he ask you to call me?"
"Anderson? Perhaps..." Sharon replied. "Or perhaps my superior reminded me to call you..."
"Well, thank you, Sharon, I will let my troops know to expect you."
"You're very welcome, Steve. Be seeing you soon.."
"You too." As Steve ended the call, he soon got the orders. He looked around, and saw that Chris was looking at his phone. Chris then gave Steve a wondering look.
"Sir, are they serious?" Chris asked.
"I figured they're serious." Rogers agreed as he looked at the orders he's receiving.
"But here and now?" Chris did not seem to like the idea.
"No mistake." Rogers told Chris with a smile. "You and 7-1 have an hour to coordinate with the Secret Service."
"Very well," the hardened Captain shook his head. He then got his radio out. "Ramirez, do you copy? Orders from the top; have 7-1 assume Formation Ironclad."
Outside:
Private Damion was next to an MRAP standing guard when he overhead Ramirez. "Formation Ironclad? For real?" He paused as he listened to Captain Burke on the other end. "I see... yes sir."
"Sarge, what's up?" Damion asked.
Ramirez sighs as he takes his finger off of his earpiece. "Formation Ironclad."
Corporal Vance nodded. "You heard him," Vance told Damion, "the big man's on the way, so get to it."
Damion was now surprised; HE was coming here? Damion managed to snap himself out of his surprise and focus on the task in hand. He took up his position behind an MRAP as the Japanese also moved in response to a similar set of orders. Damion checked the surrounding streets, he saw nothing out of the ordinary.
True enough, black SUVs and armored trucks pulled up with flashing blue and red lights distinct from the Japanese police. A group of agents in a mix of tactical gear and tuxedos got out of their vehicles. "Alright, let's get this whole area squared away!" The lead agent told the others, who entered the scene and began to inspect the area and take positions.
"Secret Service doesn't waste their time," Ramirez muttered as he went over to the leader.
"Sergeant Ramirez." The Secret Service leader greeted. "We heard that you can get a lot of things done quick."
"That's correct." Ramirez replied.
The agent then pointed to the estate. "How many soldiers do you have on hand?"
"We have sixty troops of our company present, with another thirty to forty in reserve," Ramirez answered.
"I see.." The agent observed.
"Also, we have the best soldiers Howler Platoon can offer." Ramirez continued. "They can compare to the Marines that surround our big man."
"Good to know. Then maintain your formations as we set up. I want this place airtight."
"Yes sir." Ramirez saluted. He knew that Howler Platoon had just been given a big honor, and they were going to do well with it.
Inside:
Silica, Lisbeth, and the girls were happily chatting in waiting for the bride as some uniformed suits in shades with earpieces marched in through the doors with purpose.
"I wonder what is going on here?" Keiko asked Rika. "They don't look like Howler soldiers."
"They're fancily dressed Americans, that's for sure," Rika remarked.
Shouzou was just talking to some guests when he turned and saw the lead agent. He smiled a bit, as though apparently expecting the men. He walked up and bowed lightly to the agent. "So he is coming after all," Shouzou said in accented English.
"He is," the leader simply said, "we're just the advance team. We just need to scout out this perimeter before he arrives."
"Oh?" Shouzou raised an eyebrow. "And may I ask who else is coming to the wedding?"
"Just his wife and the rest of our men. Your invitation was specific to those two."
"I see..." Shouzou said. "And you have to inspect this mansion?"
"Secret Service protocol, sir," the agent responded.
"Perhaps I can assist you of inspecting our home?" Shouzou offered. "If you would, it will make our job much easier."
"Alright then, take lead." The agent nodded. "Carson, Newman, have your teams remain on ground level and clear the path for Ironside's ingress." The leader turned back to Shouzou as his men split up. "Now I will appreciate if you have a guest list..."
Two of the agents walked up to the girls. One asked, "are you all associates of Asuna Yuuki?"
It was Rika, who answered. "Yes, we're all bridesmaids for her."
"And who might you be?" Suguha dared to ask in English.
"United States Secret Service, young miss," the second agent answered.
Kotone did a double-take. "Secret Service? As in for the American president secret service?"
"Wait, the President?" Nijika asked.
"As in President Bruce Wilson?" Momiji interjected.
The USSS agents simply nodded. "We have questions to ask as part of our security procedures, and you all are fluent enough in English to converse?"
"Yes, we all fluent with English here..." Rika answered.
"We understand what you're saying," Suguha said calmly, though she found it a little daunting to be questioned by more government agents.
Suguha asks. "Is there a reason for the American president to be attending Asuna's wedding?"
"He was invited," the first agent simply replied.
"Oh... Well, it'll be an honor to have him with us." Sugu then smiled.
The second cut straight to business. "Any weapons on any of you?"
"No sir," Rika answered, "none of us aren't carrying any weapons of a sword."
Suguha ran a hand over her own dress, showing that nothing was printing. It was something she learned about pat-downs from watching some of her dad's police training. "Nothing here," Suguha said as she glanced back to the others.
"We do have female agents so as not to make things awkward," the first agent offered.
"Okay then." Suguha acknowledged.
"I don't like that," Momiji protested.
"Me neither," Keiko agreed.
"It's best that we get it over with..." Rika sighed.
A female agent then walked up. "All bridesmaids and maid of honor, please step forward for security inspections." She ordered.
The other girls groaned, but they complied and stood next to Suguha. She started with Suguha, who winced at her rougher-than-expected patting. The female USSS was quite tall and muscular, towering over the teens.
"Alright, you're clean." The female agent said to Sugu before moving to Rika.
"Ow! Hey, easy on the dress," Rika groaned in Japanese, which the USSS ignored.
"Clean."
"Sheesh." Rika muttered in Japanese as she straightened her dress.
"She's just doing her job," one of the other agents stated.
"It's alright, Rika." Suguha reassured her.
"Are all grown up Americans like this?" Rika wondered.
Keiko was next, and she wasn't too fond of the pat-down.
"Just hold still and it will be quick."
"Not too hard, Mikaelis," one of the agents said, "don't wanna get complaints of accidental bruising."
"I'll be quick, Lincoln."
Keiko winced as she felt the pat downs on her small body. However, they were much gentle to her.
"Clean, next!"
Keiko breathed hard. It was Momiji's turn. "You have to do this?" Momiji said in English.
"Don't like it anymore than the next girl, but I have to," Agent Mikaelis replied as she patted her down.
Momiji just sighed, the USSS were right after all.
Meanwhile, with the boys:
Nathan is observing the conversation with his male companions.
"No way, the Secret Service?" Timothy asked Scott.
"That's what I've been hearing." Scott answered. "I can't believe that President Wilson's coming here."
"Y'all think Wilson could be coming her to congratulate both Kazuto and Asuna?" Kenji wondered. "After all, he did made that speech regarding ALO a couple of weeks ago."
"I thought he was on official visit to the Japanese state," Randy expressed.
"He is," Kenji answered, "that's what was reported."
"Hey don't look now," Haruto pointed, "but I think some of those Secret Service are checking and patting down people."
"And it looks like we're next." Shigeru added.
"Young gentlemen," two of the younger agents approached.
"Greetings, agent." Randy replied with a nod.
"We need to search everyone present," the partner said.
"Assuming position," Scott rolled his eyes a bit as he stood and stretched his arms out. The agent started patting Scott.
"It's standard protocol." The other agent said.
"Clean," the second agent said before moving onto Shigeru.
"Hey hey, easy there," Shigeru squirmed under the agent's grasp.
"I don't know what you're saying, but hold still," the agent replied to Shigeru in English.
Shigeru groaned and remained still.
"He's clean."
"He ruffled my suit," Shigeru shook his head.
"It'll be fine." Randy replied before he stretched his arms out.
"Thank you for your cooperation," the agent said as he finished with Randy. Then, it was Tim's turn.
"Aw man..." Tim groaned.
"This will be quick, buddy," the agent assured as he brushed upwards.
"Might as well get it over with." Nathan sighed before assuming position as well. All the teen groomsmen were patted down.
With Kazuto, Alex, and Captain Burke:
Kazuto and Alex watched as dark suited men and women with earpieces shifted through the crowd, with some of them talking with the Japanese police.
"That's the secret service." Alex explained. "The very people whose only job is to protect the president from all threats."
"The President?" Kazuto was surprised, "he's coming!?"
"That's right," Captain Burke said, "the Colonel and I received orders for our troops outside to tighten up the perimeter around this block."
"We had no idea that he was invited." Kazuto expressed.
"Well, apparently he was," Chris Burke said with pursed lips.
One USSS approached Colonel Rogers. "Colonel, you and Captain Burke are required up front. The President wishes to have you both when his entourage pulls up."
"Yes sir, we're heading up front now." Rogers acknowledged. Chris heard this as well, and told the two boys, "excuse me." He then pointed to both Anderson and Preston, "Anderson, Preston, remain here."
"Got it, sir." Both Anderson and Preston saluted as Rogers and Burke headed towards the front of the manor.
Alex whistled to Kazuto. "You and Asuna are real lucky."
"Not everyday someone from SAO gets a meeting with the US President." He added.
"I guess..." Kazuto was a bit speechless that America's leader was actually taking time to visit his wedding to Asuna. It was then Kazuto remembered the speech Wilson made a couple of weeks back.
"Wait," he looked to Anderson, "you don't suppose he's here to-"
"Congratulate you two?" Preston finished.
Anderson gave a knowing grin. "I hear that he is most thankful, and wishes to express it in person."
Kazuto didn't know what to think of the news. He just hoped that Asuna would not mind.
With Asuna:
The Yuuki bride-to-be looks at the time on her nightstand clock.
"Only half an hour..." She could hardly wait. Asuna looked again in her tall mirror, to make sure that everything's perfect. She stroked her dress and chest plate... it almost felt like she was back in SAO as she remember the small wedding ceremony a few days after Kazuto proposed to her after their brush with Kuradeel's ambush. Asuna straighten her hair and made sure that the veil's in place.
It was then that Kyouko came in again. "Are you nervous, Asuna?" She asked.
"Nervous? No," Asuna swooned a bit as she said, "I'm about to be the happiest rich girl in all of Japan on Valentines Day."
Kyouko chuckled. "I'm glad to hear that."
"Is something up, Mother?" Asuna asked.
"Well..." Kyouko began. "We're expecting a special visitor from the States."
"A special visitor?" Asuna wondered. "Who could it be?"
"I just don't want you to be shocked, but we have the US Secret Service in our house," Kyouko revealed.
"Secret Service?" Asuna asked, before it dawned on her. "The President?"
Kyouko nodded. "He was invited to the wedding... Or rather... he requested rather earnestly to come here."
"The American president himself requested?" Asuna was surprised that President Wilson was making time in his day to see her and Kazuto tie the knot. She couldn't help but feel that it was more than attending the wedding ceremony.
"He did," Kyouko confirmed, "and his wife as well."
"The American first lady too?" Asuna blinked. "They are taking time from their state visit just to see us?"
"That's what President Wilson said." Kyouko explained. "So much so that he went in early for his meeting with the Prime Minister, and asked that he bring him to our house."
This was all a surprise for Asuna, she didn't know what else to say.
At the entrance:
Colonel Rogers and Captain Burke stood ready, uniforms prim and prime with their sidearms on their belts.
"Any minute now..." Rogers said.
"I'm still not sure about this, Colonel," Chris expressed, "can we be sure that it is safe for him to be coming out like this?"
"Well, the president himself have requested the invitation to the wedding." Rogers specified. "He and the First Lady wanted to come here for quite some time."
"But in the middle of an insurgency?" Chris questioned.
"It was their decision, captain." Rogers replied.
Chris shifted in his uniform and faced forward, by now, the crowds had grown with Secret Service joining the Japanese security and his troops, and Blackhawk helos from the USMC were early signs that the President's entourage was soon to arrive.
Rogers checked the time, there was another ten minutes before the arrival of the president.
"I'm checking in with the troops," Chris told his superior.
"Alright then, I'll greet the President and First Lady when they arrives." Rogers replied.
"This will only take a minute," Chris replied as he went down to one of the MRAPS, where he saw Ramirez talking with the Japanese and a USSS. "Ramirez."
"Captain." Ramirez greeted.
"I take it that our perimeter formation is up to snuff with the USSS?" Chris inquired with a tone of confidence in his unit.
"Yes sir, everyone's been checked and the USSS are in position with our troops."
"And the crowds?"
"They're all been accounted for. And the USSS has reinforced our checkpoints with their own security measures, including metal detectors and omni-directional cameras."
"I'd expect no less from them," Chris hummed, "and excellent report. Ramirez, carry on."
"Will do, captain." Ramirez saluted before Chris turned and walked away. He rejoined the Colonel as the both of them were approached by a USSS. The agent told them. "Ironside is on approach. ETA one minute."
Rogers then radios the rest of the Howlers. "Get ready everyone, Ironside's one minute towards arrival."
Damion felt his heartbeat quicken in anticipation from the communique, gripping his rifle as he exhaled. He was about to be within passing distance of the President of the United States.
'Stay calm, Damion.' He thought to himself. 'Make sure to be on guard when he arrives.'
"Steady yourself kiddo," Vance's steely voice broke in, "just because the President is coming does not mean you can lose your cool."
"Who says I'm losing my cool?" Damion calmly defended.
"You stiffened up," Vance observed.
"Just making sure that they're no threats." Damion replied.
"Just do your usual duties, and do it well. Overthinking it just makes you jittery," Vance said.
"Right..."
"See that you do..." Vance then walked away. Damion Burton sighed as he steadied his rifle. But he knew that he had to keep his cool and not overthink.
"Hey Burton, looks like the jarheads are coming in," one of his soldier friends jested. He pointed down the road, where a group of Humvees flying American flags drove in front of a long line of SUVs.
'Okay, Damion. Keep your cool, but keep on guard.' He thought. True enough, as the Humvees got closer, Damion could make out the MARPAT uniforms of the Marines. Moments later, the Humvees and the SUVs began to slow down. People were now clamoring with their phones as the convoy rolled by. Soon enough, a group of limousines flanked by MRAPs and armored SUVs rolled in. Damion could not help but glance at the procession of USMC and USSS, which seemed to steal a lot of the show of force from the Army Rangers, impressive as Howler 7-1 was.
The limousines then stopped in front of the gate, the USSS agents step out of the SUVs and opened the doors to one of the limousines. The Marines also formed a middle perimeter between the Rangers and Secret Service, M4A1s at the ready. President Bruce Wilson then steps out of the limousine, that got the crowds chatting. He then reached a hand back in, and pulled out Stephanie Wilson.
Together under the escort of the Marines, they headed through the front gates of the Yuuki manor.
"Atten-hut!" Chris and Rogers snapped to their salutes for their commander-in-chief. "Welcome to Japan, Mr. President." The latter greeted.
"I'm most happy to be here, especially on this special day," Wilson said with a smile. "Please walk with me, Colonel and Captain America."
"Sir," Chris simply acknowledged as he and Rogers turned on their feet, flanking the President and his wife. As they walked in through the front door past Japanese police, the inside of the foyer went silent as people realized that POTUS was actually in the house.
With Kazuto and Alex:
Klein rushed up to his two young friends. "Hey guys, the President is actually here!"
"He's here already?" Alex asked, surprised.
"Yeah, and he's got Burke and Rogers with him," Klein was breathless.
"Let's go see him." Kazuto chimed.
"You sure you want to leave the altar, kid?" Andrew Mills came walking up, "if anything, the President is coming right out here, soon."
Kazuto thought about Andrew's statement and shrugged. "Well... In that case, we'll stay here..."
Inside the house:
Shouzou and Kyouko walked towards the front of the house, where Captain Burke and Colonel Rogers were flanking the US president and his first lady with some Marines and US Secret Service.
"Welcome to our home, President Wilson." Shouzou greeted before he and Kyouko gave a respective bow.
"Ah... you both must be Mister and Misses Yuuki," the President smiled. He then extended his hand. Shouzou then took Wilson's hand and shook it.
"Thank you, for allowing me to visit your abode," Wilson expressed, "and allowing my wife to come as well."
Stephanie, dressed in a lovely 1960s era dress, was quite radiant, which got some of the men in the room chattering.
"We're more than happy to have you and your wife here.." Kyouko smiled.
"And we both wish everyone here a Happy Valentine's Day," Stephanie beamed, "especially to one Kazuto Kirigaya and your daughter Asuna Yuuki!"
"It's a perfect day for a wedding." Bruce added with a smile.
"Speaking of which, when do we get to meet them?" Stephanie asked.
"Well... The ceremony will be starting soon." Shouzou explained. "But, you can meet with the groomsmen and bridesmaids." Speaking of which, the boys and girls soon saw the President as he and his escorts walked into the massive living room area. There were murmurs with surprise and excitement.
"My, my," Bruce Wilson said, "there are a lot of them in here."
"They are the comrades of the groom and bride, sir," Chris reported. "And they're the ones who help them during the whole ALO incident."
"Ah..." Bruce chuckled as he held his arms out. "Hello, everybody!"
"Hello, Mister President." Everyone greeted in unison. It was then Randy Mitchell step forward and was the first to greet him.
"Hello, Mr. President. It's an honor to meet you... I'm Randy, Randy Mitchell."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Randy Mitchell..." Wilson greeted as he shook the Mitchell boy's hand. "Are you related to Alexander Mitchell by any chance?"
"Yes sir, he and I are cousins." Randy answers.
"And where is he now?"
"He's out at the altar with Kazuto, waiting for the ceremony to begin. If you want, I can take you out to meet them." Randy offered.
"If you may, young man."
Stephanie then walked up to the girls. "Well hi there!"
Suguha then spoke up. "Greetings, Misses Wilson." She then bowed.
"Ah... I recognize you from that video!" Stephanie beamed as she hugged Suguha, surprising everyone.
"Oh!" Suguha was surprised from the sudden friendly gesture from the American First Lady. Stephanie Wilson was an outgoing person for someone her station and age. Her hug then relaxed and she held Sugu by her shoulders.
"You must be that Kazuto boy's young sister!"
"I am..." Suguha replied. "And you are the President's wife."
"That's correct." Stephanie smiled.
Rika then chimed in. "You're a lively woman. I thought all politicians were supposed to be more formal."
"Not all of them." Stephanie chimed. "And I'm actually a musician and singer."
Suguha blinked in surprise. "Musician and singer?"
"That's right."
"Wow..." Keiko said in amazement.
"Who knew..." Kotone added.
"Same here." Momiji agreed.
"Where did you sing then?" Nijika asked.
Before the war, sports events." Stephanie answered.
"I was a Gospel and Patriotic singer."
Misumi, also a bridesmaid, then said, "that sounds, like Hailey Felix." That caught Stephanie's attention.
Then Misumi explained. "Before SAO, I used to listen to her music all the time. Even shown some of the albums to Asuna."
Rika gave Misumi a look of astonishment. "You continue to surprise us every day since ALO..." She commented. "I didn't know you were into American country."
"Well, my mother introduced me to them when I was young." Misumi said.
Stephanie recognized the name of Hailey Felix, and her face fell. "Why yes... Lord bless her soul."
"She was gone too soon..." Misumi lamented.
Suguha gave Stephanie a look. "Wait, what happened?"
"Well..." Stephanie began. "Her plane went down a few weeks ago while enroute to Japan. She and everyone onboard are missing, maybe dead."
Suguha gasped before asking. "D-Did they find out how the plane went down?"
Stephanie then said, "they had leads on the flight attendant..."
"Don't all planes have that small box that help tell us what happen?" Kotone then asked.
"Destroyed... the flight attendant reportedly destroyed it," Stephanie lamented.
There was silence filling the air, the news of the attendant destroying the black box unnerved them. Was there a real reason why the copilot did it?
"But... how do you know it was the copilot, and why would he do something like that?" Misumi asked.
"Well, it was the MID, the Marshals by the way, that checked his room... and found some notes and stuff he left behind..."
"Stuff like?" Rika asked, dreading the answer.
"I'm not sure if I should."
"What?" Misumi begged.
Stephanie relented, "he reportedly hated his job and pay... and wanted to kill himself."
Suguha and the other girls gasped. Stephanie sobbed, as her USSS held her gently. "Sorry, girls... just the thought... that she left a good man this Valentine's Day without her."
Suguha and the other girls nodded in sympathy.
"She had a boyfriend?" Keiko asked. Stephanie nodded, and looked towards Captain Burke as he was standing with Rogers next to the President as he spoke with the boys.
"Wait... him?" Suguha gasped.
"This Valentine's Day must be a somber one for that young Captain..." Stephanie shook her head.
Suguha felt a growing pit in her stomach. During their mission in ALO, she knew that Chris Burke was rough around the edges and determined to finish the mission. And now after learning that the new Captain America's beloved killed in a plane crash...
"Sheesh... no wonder why he's been so... mopey," Rika was blunt.
"Rika!" Keiko whispered sharply. "He might hear us!"
"He's Captain America, and with sharp hearing," Momiji added.
True enough, the Captain looked both girls' way. They all expect him to give a frown of disapproval. Instead... Chris just gave a downturned mouth hinting of a deep and silent sadness, before looking back away.
"Told you..." Keiko remarked towards Rika.
Rika scratched her cheek nervously.
"That poor young Chris... he's experienced more loss and sadness than any young man should ever go through..." Stephanie sighed, "hundreds of times."
Silence fell around Suguha and the other girls, unsure what to say next.
"Maybe... him being here to see the wedding of the two young ones he helped save," Stephanie sniffed, "is his way of coming to terms with what happened."
"I see..." Suguha nodded. She could not imagine how anyone could keep going after seeing his friends and loved ones die hundreds of times over the length of a military career. The idea that her brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law getting married would provide Captain America II some sense of reassurance was striking.
It was then Misumi felt the dark atmosphere around them, so she had to say something. "If so... then let's make sure that today is a good one... for Kazuto and Asuna, and for the Captain," Misumi clapped her hands lightly, "a bit of happiness in strife."
Keiko gave Misumi a soft smile. "Yes... let's make it a good day."
"For Kazuto and Asuna." Rika chimed in.
"That's right," Suguha said, "everyone's been through enough for a while. We should enjoy today, and make it enjoyable... even for the Captain."
"Agreed." The girls said in unison.
Colonel Rogers looked to his subordinate. "You okay?" He asked.
"Y-Yeah... I'm fine..." Chris nodded. "I just... I was just thinking about this Valentine's Day... how unique it is."
"That is true, Chris." Rogers agreed.
"I'm just proud for Kirigaya and Yuuki," Chris added. "They managed to prove to all of us that love could be indeed found in the midst of a war."
Rogers, however, could tell that there was more going on with Chris, and he knew why. "Hey... Hailey Felix is missing, not confirmed dead."
Chris didn't face Rogers, but it was clear that he was still dealing with it. "It's... very unfortunate." He was trying to sound composed. "It's just that it's been a few years since Hailey and I had Valentine's Day together... and now she's gone."
"Missing Chris, missing," Rogers reminded. "We don't really know what happened. Since not all of the bodies are recovered, there's a possibility that she managed to escape from the plane before it crashed."
"In the middle of the Pacific?" Chris raised an eyebrow.
"All planes are equipped with parachutes and lift rafts since the end of the civil war." Rogers explained. "And she could be somewhere near Hawaii, if not on it."
"I know about the emergency equipment, sir," Chris whispered back, "but-"
"Don't give up hope, son," Rogers urged, "Captain America does not give up hope."
Chris just exhaled and straightened up. "Just have a Happy Valentine's... sir."
"And that we will..." Rogers smirked.
Meanwhile, President Wilson was chatting with the boys. "So, all of you met young Kazuto in SAO." He deduced.
"That's correct, Mr. President." Randy replied.
"And we spoke out for Captain America when your military was trying to railroad him," Scott huffed critically.
"But it turns out that Hydra managed to infiltrate the JAGs, and then tried to kill him when the truth came out." Tim added.
"Still," Scott shook his head.
"Yeah, that was totally uncalled for," Haruto added.
"I happen to agree here, President Wilson." Kenji agreed.
"And I understand all of you," Wilson said. "I should have seen that it was another ploy made by Hydra and I should've made sure that the people that filled in the gaps of the old US government had been thoroughly checked. And because of that, we lost a valuable air base here in Tokyo."
"Yeah, that's a pretty big loss," Shigeru said.
"I heard that senator from Tennessee was mighty pissed off too," Nathan chimed in, "I think he was a relative of Burke."
"I believe he was too." Kenji added. "What was his name again?"
"Senator Daniel Burke." Randy clarified. "Captain Burke's uncle. And of course, the 'Captain Burke is my Captain America' video tread we created."
Wilson then gave a laugh. "He was so furious when he called my office, I thought he was going to march in front of the White House with his constituents and lead a chant with that."
"Well, we were glad that Captain Burke was acquitted from the trial." Tim said. "Scary though that Hydra had men inside the USFJ to try and still kill him, though."
"Don't forget that both Kazuto and Asuna ran towards the heart of the fight and repelled the attack." Scott added. "They had powers some more!"
"It's hard to believe that they were able to manifest super powers just like that." Kenji stated.
"I was wondering about that," Wilson remarked.
"It took all of us by surprise," Haruto admitted.
Wilson was fascinated, but soon Shouzou came in. "Mr. President, honored guests," Shouzou announced, "now that the Prime Minister and his wife have finished speaking with the media... I believe it is time to move to the altar in our backyard."
"Certainly." Wilson nodded before he rejoined with Stephanie.
"Well, I guess it's almost time." Randy deduced.
"This way, Mr. President," Chris directed. President Wilson, Stephanie, Suguha, and the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen all headed to the backyard.
With Kazuto:
Kazuto and Alex were talking with Yui and Strea when more of the crowd started to file in.
"We're almost ready." Alex observed the crowd.
Yui looked up to her dad. "Should I get the flowers ready, daddy?"
Kazuto patted her solid head. "Sure thing, Yui. And when the ceremony starts, remember that the flower girl goes first."
"Oh, oh, and what about me?" Strea childishly raised her hand as she giggled.
"You're one of the bridesmaids, you'll come out with Nathan." Kazuto chuckled.
"Really?" Strea asked.
"Yep, since any couples that are invited to act as groomsmen and bridesmaids are paired up with their respected partners."
"Thank you, Dad!" Strea glomped Kazuto. The latter laughed as the big-little daughter hugged him.
"Strea, people are staring," Yui said nervously.
Strea broke the hug and observed the growing crowd, some looked at her rather curiously.
"Don't want others to think there's another girl seeing daddy." Yui explained.
"Oh," Strea put her hands up and backed off. "Sorry!"
"It's okay, Strea." Kazuto reassured Strea. "Just gotta be careful next time as no one knows that you're Yui's little sister..."
"And with your teenage appearance, it can send the wrong message," Alex added kindly, "just take it easy in the real world."
"Okay Uncle Alex, I will..." Strea said sheepishly.
Klein then pointed to Burke, Rogers, and Wilson as they entered with the Marines and Secret Service. "And the American big man is in the house."
Kazuto, Alex, Yui, and Strea turned their attention to the large number of USSS agents.
"Why are these people here?" Yui asked.
"Well," Alex began. "According to Anderson and Preston, President Bruce Wilson and his wife Stephanie requested an invitation to the wedding."
"And there they are," Kazuto pointed. The President and First Lady of the United States arrived and took their seats.
"So that's the President," Strea tilted her head, "but why is his skin so dark?" That innocent question drew gazes from the others around her.
"Umm... that's because he's African American," Andrew decided to break the awkwardness quickly, "we humans come in all sorts of different colors."
"That's correct," Alex added. "And we've come from different nationalities, whenever they're born in those countries or migrated to other countries. Those countries included America."
"Oh..." Strea was fascinated. "So, Wilson is the first African-American to be president."
"Second, actually..." Alex clarified.
"That's right," Andrew nodded his head.
Kazuto smiled as he saw everyone else, including his friends. "We'll learn about the US history in another time. As the wedding's gonna start soon."
"Okay dad, Yui-nesan and I will get in place." Strea smiled before she and Yui headed off to the others.
Wilson laid eyes on Kazuto for the first time. 'So that's Kazuto.' He thought. 'Kazuto Kirigaya.' Wilson could not help but notice the black embellishments to the tuxedo. It was a nice touch for a themed-wedding. Kazuto had gloves and what appeared to be some ornate armor on his chest.
'Very interesting...' Wilson observed. He had heard of themed weddings, and military weddings could be seen as a sort of themed type... He then turned his attention on his friend, Alex Mitchell.
"David Mitchell's boy," he whispered as he led his wife down the rows of seats. "And Kazuto's best friend."
"Not to mention the best man." Stephanie whispered in agreement. "Those two look very well-dressed and handsome."
"Right this way, Mr. President," Chris pointed towards some seats, "reserved for you and your wife."
"Thank you, Captain." Wilson nodded. Chris and Rogers led their leader to his seat, allowing Bruce and Stephanie to be seated. Among the guests, Minetaka was with Midori, dressed in his formal police uniform.
"Hard to believe the day's finally here, Minetaka..." Midori whispered.
"Our Kazuto has certainly grown up," Minetaka smiled, but it was clear that the policeman in him was tense.
"And soon, we'll have our daughter-in-law for real.." Midori added. She then noticed the strain in her husband. "Minetaka, what on your mind?"
"I'm sorry, it's just..." Minetaka paused for a moment.
Midori held his hand. "It will be fine, dear... you've got your colleagues watching everything, and there are soldiers to help. Just enjoy this day and let them handle any Hydra and rabble around."
Minetaka glanced back to Midori and he felt at peace when gazing into her eyes. "You are right... and our boy has proven to be able to fend for himself."
"That he has, Minetaka..." Midori agreed. "And soon, we'll have a large family of grandchildren." She then glanced towards both Yui and Strea who are with the others. Both the Kirigaya adults were impressed on the hologram projectors being set up all around the backyard. If anything, aside from a slight sheen, Yui and Strea looked as real as anybody here.
"A large family indeed." Minetaka observed.
On the perimeter:
Damion watched the perimeter closely, now finding himself on the outer edge of security as Marines and Secret Service covered the rear of the Rangers.
'Someone would be foolish to try to get past now...' Damion thought. The Secret Service worked with the Japanese Metro Police and SDF MPs to screen the guests coming in, while the Rangers and Marines had additional air support from the helos to survey the neighborhood and streets.
"Quite the affair, eh?" Damion's best friend in uniform grinned, "all this for a couple of kids tying the knot."
"Hey, Kazuto and Asuna are very special, Jenson," Damion replied to his friend, "they could use it after all the crud they went through."
"Tell me about it." Jenson agreed. "Most others their age would have gone mental, and you and I know how that turned out back home."
"Tell me about it." Damion shook his head. He continued to survey the crowd, when he laid eyes on a hooded figure who seemed to be trying to stay hidden, while rushing through the crowd.
"Honestly, I'm both a little happy and jealous at the same time," Jenson continued, oblivious to what Damion was suddenly observing.
"That is true." Damion agreed as he scanned the crowd. The hooded figure was ducking in and out, but Damion's vision could somehow make him out as clear as a hi-res camera.
'What is this guy doing?' He thought. He felt his grip tighten around his rifle.
"I mean... who gets married that young-"
"Jenson, can you hold here for a minute?" Damion suddenly said as he took off in the direction of the potential intruder.
"Damion, where are you going?" However, Jenson didn't get a reply as Damion left his position. The young soldier continues to scan the crowd while remaining around the perimeter.
"Come on, come on..." he muttered as he kept track of the figure.
"Hey, where are you going, Howler?" One of the Marines hollered to him, but Damion just picked up the pace as he saw the hooded figure suddenly go into a sprint, slipping past a startled guest and the USSS at one of the checkpoints.
"Hey, halt!" Damion yelled as the figure ran past several of his fellow soldiers.
"What's going on?" The second Marine asked as Damion ran past him. However Damion suddenly burst forward with a speed that shocked everyone and his fellow soldiers as he slammed into the intruder, flying a good yard into one of the MRAPs.
The hooded intruder struggled to get up, only to be pinned against the side of the MRAP by Damion. He ripped off the hood to reveal a Japanese boy no older than eighteen, eyes full of hatred as he struggled. Yet Damion did not struggle, feeling the intruder strangely wiggle futility against his elbow press. It didn't take long for the Marines and the Secret Service to surround the boy with their weapons pointed.
"Set him down!"
Damion back away, but kept this rifle trained on him. A Marine held his foot and M4 on his back as an agent put on his gloves and patted the teen down hard. Feeling something in the sleeve, the agent roughly pulled it up, allowing a scalpel to fall out.
'He's planning to kill someone here... The president...' Damion thought as the agent then pulled out ziptie cuffs and placed them on the teen's wrists. The agent went through the waist and then felt something again, and ripped out what Damion recognized as a Tokarev pistol. And with it, a couple of boxes of ammunition for the pistol.
"Oh, you are so in trouble," Damion muttered.
"Hey, stop him!" Damion whipped around to see another young hood slip out from past a policeman and rush the gate, only for the USSS to pull out their Kriss Vectors. The hood reach into his jacket, only for him to be knocked down. There were gasps and mutters as Damion body-slammed yet another intruder. It was then that Jenson and other soldiers moved in and restrained the intruder, pulling the hood off to reveal a punkish girl.
Damion then turned his attention back to the crowd to spot any more hooded intruders, there's no telling how many there are.
"Close up the perimeter troops," Ramirez yelled, "keep everyone back!" Jenson held a foot and rifle to the girl's back as his colleagues searched her. True enough, she had another gun and a capped syringe.
"You're lucky we didn't shoot you, stupid brat," he taunted.
As her sleeve was pulled down, it was then that a tattoo was revealed... it looked like a creepy smiling face in the shape of a coffin.
"What kind of tattoo is that?" Damion asked himself.
She was then restrained with her accomplice and pulled up by the Secret Service. "Take them to the command trailer," their leader ordered. As they were led away, the girl yelled in accented English.
"You die, Kirito, Asuna! You and friends die!"
This newfound revelations shocked Damion. They weren't after the president at all, but Kazuto and Asuna. "Why is that?"
"Hey Damion, what the heck was that?" Jenson then asked.
"I have no idea..." Damion replied. "But they appear to be after Kazuto and Asuna."
"Are they Hydra?"
"No..." Damion shook his head. "One of them had a tattoo I don't recognize."
It was then that Ramirez came up to Damion. "Hey private, mind telling me what was that you did?"
"On how I was able to tackle the would-be assassins?" Damion asked, his mind was still processing of what has happened.
"Yeah... you were running them down like some thoroughbred on steroids," Ramirez remarked.
Damion remained silent for a moment before answering. "I'm not really sure, when I saw those hooded assassins, my senses suddenly kicked in and everything was clear. I managed to spot one of them starting to slip by the checkpoint and acted quickly."
"Next thing I knew, I was just running and tackling them. I just didn't want to shoot somebody in the confusion."
"I see..." Ramirez said. "At least none of them managed to penetrate the manor grounds."
"I don't think they're after the president or the prime minister." Damion explained. "You heard what she was screaming about, Sarge?"
"She said something about Kazuto and Asuna..." Ramirez replied. "Were they..."
"Planning to kill Kazuto and Asuna..." Damion finished.
"Well, that new from someone wanting to off Wilson," Jenson remarked with a whistle.
"I don't think they're from Hydra..." Damion then gave the details of the tattoo he saw on the girl's arm.
"You think it's some sort of gang?" Damion asked.
"Maybe," Ramirez replied. "I'll see if I can make a cross reference of that tattoo. In the meantime, you should return to your post."
"Right..." Damion nodded.
"Also..." Ramirez added. "Thanks for stopping an assassination attempt."
"Just doing my job."
"Ramirez," the Secret Service lead called, "I need to talk with you."
"Alright..." Ramirez went with the Secret Service lead agent while Damion returned to his post. Jenson was still staring at him as they both resumed their positions. So far, everything has returned to normal despite the entrance remaining closed off for a time being. Some of the crowd were just pointing and staring at Damion. Most of them had their phones
However, that wasn't on the young soldier's mind as he thought about the punk girl's remarked before being dragged away. 'Why did they want to attack those two?'
The backyard:
"There was a perimeter breach?" Captain Burke was radioed by Ramirez. Colonel Rogers overheard him as he whispered in the radio. "Anything else?"
"No sir, we have the situation under control..." Ramirez replied in a hushed tone.
"Roger." Chris said as he lowered the radio. "Someone tried to breach the security checkpoints outside the Yuuki manor.." He reported to Rogers in a hushed tone. "Two... young teens."
"Any of them connected with Hydra?" Rogers asked.
Chris shook his head. "Private Burton reported one of them had a unknown tattoo on her arm. Based on their behavior and getup, there doesn't seem to be connections."
"Also," Chris continued. "Private Burton managed to spot them and tackled them to the ground."
"Good work for him."
"That's not all, sir."
"How so?" Rogers asked.
Chris looked around for a bit, before leaning in and whispering. "Private Burton took down the assassins with super-human speed. As Ramirez described... 'tackled them like a thoroughbred quarterback'."
"You'd think he could be one of the Inhumans?" Rogers asked.
"Negative," Chris shook his head, "enlistment evals would have picked it up."
Rogers pondered this for a moment. "That is strange... wait," Rogers looked to Chris again. "You mentioned at the hospital..."
"That he was injected with a serum by Wade," Chris finished, "and he was recovered in short order."
"You don't think it could've gave him super strength and agility, did it?"
Chris looked to his superior. "That would certainly warrant investigation. You want me to order Ramirez to hold him?"
"Has any of the innocent bystanders get hurt?" Rogers asked.
"Negative."
"Well, as long as these would-be assassins were quickly captured... And besides... the wedding is about to start."
By now, the backyard seats were being filled as police and USSS took their positions, with the Marines covering the entrances and walls of the compound. A few minutes, the music begins to play on the speakers.
'Canon in D.' Rogers thought. 'That hasn't changed.'
Yui was the first to go first as she begins tossing virtual flowers to the altar. "Yay for Mommy and Daddy!"
Then, it was Kazuto's turn, Midori escorts him to the altar. Then shortly after, the Best Man and Maid of Honor strolled to the altar.
'Hard to believe it.' Sugu thought to herself. Her brother was getting married, and she was with her new boyfriend to see it through. After reaching the altar, Alex stood next to Kazuto while Suguha stood next to Midori. Then Scott and Rika strolled down to the altar. They were followed by the others as the guests marveled at the procession.
Even Strea was the happiest for both her parents, as well as being able to walk down the aisle with Nathan by her side. She was fascinated by the wedding. The fact that her adoptive mom and dad were at the center of it made it even more fun.
After both Nathan and Strea arrived, it was Asuna's turn.
Inside:
"It's time, Asuna." Shouzou said as he, Kyouko, and Asuna watch everyone gathered at the altar. Shouzou turned earnestly towards his daughter. Asuna takes her father's hand as they both headed out onto the aisle.
Kyouko followed behind as the family strolled out to the music. There were gasps of wonder and awe as Asuna was led down. This also including the style of her wedding dress which lead guests admire the details.
Naomi watched her friend in awe, along with Mito. The two girls were happy for their friend getting hitched. The groomsmen and bridesmaids beamed as Asuna came walking past them with her parents. Kazuto was mesmerized by Asuna's beauty and her wedding dress. She was so elegant, lovely and strong, he almost thought he could faint from the sweetness of it all.
Asuna gazed lovely towards Kazuto at the altar. As the distance closed, Kazuto and Asuna could only focus upon one another as the world became a blur.
It was like they're back in SAO... ...back in that church... then back at the log cabin...
And now, they're tying the knot for real...
"Now she is a real bride," Stephanie complimented.
"That she is, dear..." Bruce agreed.
Chris watched as Asuna was led to the front of the altar. As she looked to her parents, they released her to ascend the steps. Chris nodded to both groom and bride in silent approval. 'This is your Valentines Day both of you... cherish what you have now...'
Soon, both Kazuto and Asuna are standing in front of the altar, not taking their eyes off of each other.
Alex and Suguha watched with happiness for the both of them as the Christian priest went forth. He begins to speak. "We have gathered here today to witness the celebration of the holy matrimony between Kazuto Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki."
Outside:
A large holoscreen had been erected outside by the media that were specifically allowed onsite. Damion made glances towards the holoscreen, while not taking his eyes off from the crowd. Everyone else who was not police or military was muttering about how beautiful Asuna was or how lucky Kazuto was.
Even Damion cracked a smirk from the compliments the two teens are receiving.
Back inside:
Yui stood off to the side of the altar in her solid hologram form, observing the wedding ceremony taking place for her parents. While she only met them sometime after they were married, this will be the first to see it in action. As well as to see how marriages work in the real world.
The priest continued, "while these two are young, their hearts and minds have shown strength and maturity well beyond the years. Found each other on the battlefield of SAO, these two continued to support each other and protected each other. And even after finding love, they never lost sight of their purpose and duty."
Yui was beaming happily. She remembered clearly just how devoted her mom and dad were in the latter days of SAO. After being adopted from the forests on the 22nd floor, they grew together to become a happy family.
Midori meanwhile was crying. She still remembers the day they took Kazuto in and raised him as their own son. And now... they were here on his special day. Minetaka watched on, proud for Kazuto.
'That's my boy.'
The priest continued. "I've been told that they've written their own vows and will read them to each other..."
Asuna and Kazuto faced each other. Asuna began.
"Kazuto, ever since I've first met you in SAO, I couldn't help but wondered what my life would've been if I never logged onto SAO. But I am glad that I did, otherwise, my life would've been different without you..." Asuna was speaking from memory, which made her eye contact even more soulful.
"There were times where I thought I'd lose you and became scared, but you managed to pull through for me and for all of us. And when SAO was cleared and I was held prisoner. I never gave up on you and hoped and prayed that you'll come in and rescue me and everyone."
There were tears, especially among Asuna's friends and the ALO survivors. Even Kyouko was moved to tears herself.
"You were my first partner in battle... Whenever if it were quests in SAO or behind enemy lines in ALO. My love for you will always be strong, through the thick and thin... And I testify to all this under heaven's watchful gaze to you, my husband-to-be."
It was now Kazuto's turn to read his vows.
"Asuna... When I logged into SAO, I never thought I find love inside a death game... I was a man with purpose... but my world was a narrow and lonesome one. That was until you were introduced into my life after the first month..."
Alex and Suguha looked emotional.
"You've comforted me through the roughest days whenever I've experienced loss or became overwhelmed..." He continued. "You were there after I had lost my first guild and friends. You were there together to clear floors. And you were there to save me from an ambush on my life."
"And I knew that same day and night, I could not deny the love and affections that we forged together. And after we've defeated the creator of SAO, I thought I almost lost you while in both SAO and after we cleared it."
Asuna trembled a bit. Everyone else seemed intrigued as to why Kazuto would say that.
Kazuto sees this and quickly continues. "However, I never gave up on you, and you never gave up on me. And together, with all the support we got, we managed to defeat a greater enemy against all odds, and reunited at last." He smiles. "And now, we'll live a long, happy life in the real world like we had back in SAO..."
"... and according to a mutual friend of ours serving as a soldier, he had this quote to share with the both of us," Kazuto revealed.
This gets the crowd's attention as he continued. "He told me that an old general named Eisenhower had this to say about love; 'love comes in all shapes and sizes, and that it can be found in the most unexpected places.'"
President Bruce Wilson was impressed by the young man's knowledge of history and inspiration.
"And our friend had this to say about the biggest regret of any soldier, that they have only one life to give for their country, friends, and family. Well... if I had the luxury, I would give seven for you and our family, Asuna."
That elicited some chuckles, especially from the Marines escorting the president and the officers invited.
Rogers gave Chris a sideways glance.
"... And with that, I'm more than happy to spend every single moment with you as your knight in shining armor, your black swordsman, and your husband..." Kazuto finishes.
"Kirito-kun," Asuna gasped lightly as she gazes into his onyx eyes.
"In love and war..." Kazuto muttered.
"Through thick and thin..." Asuna replied softly.
"You and I," they said in sync.
It was then the priest speaks. "And now it's time for the exchanging of the rings..."
'It's happening,' Suguha thought excitedly as Alex stepped forward with the ring case. He opens the case's lid and hands it to Kazuto.
"Thank you," Kazuto accepted the ring for Asuna.
He smiled as he lifted her gloved hand, and slipped the ring on her finger.
"Do you, Kazuto Kirigaya, take Asuna Yuuki to be your lawful wedded wife until death, do you apart?" The priest asks.
"I do... in this world and beyond," Kazuto affirmed.
The priest then turns to Asuna and asks. "Do you, Asuna Yuuki, take Kazuto as your lawful wedded husband until death, do you apart?"
"I do... in this world and beyond," Asuna affirmed as Alex gave her the ring for Kazuto. She slides it onto his finger with ease.
"By the power invested in me, the government of Japan, I now pronounce you husband and wife." The priest smiled. "You many now kiss the bride."
Kazuto swept up Asuna and planted a kiss on her sweet lips. The crowd then cheered for the newly-weds, even their friends cheered as well. Suguha cried out in tears of joy while Alex gave out a cowboy whoop. Both Yui and Strea cheered happily for their parents.
"He did it!" Midori yelled.
"He sure did." Minetaka smiled. The two held hands in happiness for Kazuto.
Afterwards, Kazuto sets Asuna back down on her feet and they begin to make their way towards the reception area. The bridesmaids threw cherry blossom petals as the groomsmen cheered.
"Hurray for mommy and daddy!" Yui cheered as she and Strea threw cherry blossom petals.
"Hahaha!" Strea laughed.
Colonel Rogers and Captain Burke led the other officers invited in a hearty applause for the two young heroes.
