Hello everyone, and welcome back!

Before we begin, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Rei T. Scarlett. Rei and I have been chatting for a few months now and it was Rei who brought Galadriel to my attention and gave me the idea of an Athens arc. Given that, and the fact that many of the characters we're going to meet soon are Rei's or brought to my attention by Rei, I just wanted to show a little appreciation here and now. So, thank you, Rei.

Now, it's time to see what precisely Athens wants and how it will affect our heroes, so let's get going shall we?!

Freya stared down at the image before her with regretful eyes.

"Oh Bell," she whispered, her hand reaching out as if attempting to stroke his cheek. However, her hand simply passed through the image, making the distance between them seem all the greater.

That's not the only thing either, she thought as her eyes turned to the young woman beside him.

Aiz smiled blissfully as she snuggled up to Bell, all troubles and worries seeming to have left her as she shared warmth with her love.

Freya's fists tightened.

That should be me, she growled within her mind, jealousy mixing with her misery.

Unable to bear that sight, she turned her gaze away, towards another of her beloveds.

Achilles sat alone on a chair, happily chatting away with his newly arrived familia.

I do love to see him smile, she thought as her own smile returned and her anger began to cool.

This lasted but a moment, as not a second later her dear Achilles's face lit up in a way that she knew all too well. Her heart sank as that wonderful look was not directed towards her, but towards the all too familiar elven princess who, within moments, had been pulled into his lap where she was then smothered with kisses.

Freya's jealous rage instantly turned to boiling point and she cried out as she dispersed the image.

"This isn't how it's supposed to be," she said out loud. "They are meant to be with me."

No sound passed through her empty room for a time, except for her angry, labored breaths. However, after a time, a new, near silent sound passed through the air. The sound of water droplets hitting stone.

"How did this happen?" she asked herself as tears slowly rolled down her cheeks. She suddenly chuckled bitterly. "I know exactly how it happened. Because I wanted so desperately to see Bell shine that I pushed him and pushed him until he no longer shined, but burned."

She brought the image of Bell back, finding that he just so happened to be next to his father at the moment, talking and smiling.

I'm sorry you two. I never wished to hurt you. I just wanted to see you at your very best.

Her eyes filled with more tears, only to suddenly stop as another familiar face appeared in her vision.

Haruhime, she thought as she reached out towards the smiling renard. That's right, Freya realized, her tears evaporating as hope filled her heart. I haven't lost all of you. There's still a chance, I just need to think.

A knock at the door snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned, and a moment later, Ottar walked in.

"My lady, we have received a message from the Guild. Ouranos has called a meeting. Apparently it's important."

Despite her recent thoughts, Freya found her interest piqued.

"Oh?"

"Do you know what Ouranos-sama wants from us, Hestia-sama?" Mikoto asked.

"Not a clue, and given how these meetings tend to go, I don't really want to go at all, but I guess that's not really possible," Hestia answered.

"Well, given Bell and I haven't caused any trouble in the last couple of days, we can probably rule out it has something to do with us this time," Achilles joked, earning a few laughs.

"Maybe it's because we're back," Patroclus suggested.

"That's possible," Achilles replied, nodding. "Though I don't think he'll be foolish enough to try and banish you."

"You never know," Galadriel said, stepping forward, a frown playing across her lovely features. "That's why I'm coming with you."

"That's not necessary, Galadriel-san. Ouranos-sama only asked for us, and I don't think he'll do anything we need to be worried about," Bell said.

"I appreciate your optimism, Bell, but you don't know Ouranos like I do or what he's capable of." Everyone tensed at those words and the cold way they were spoken, but Galadriel pressed on. "You also don't scare him like I do."

"Why would Ouranos-sama be scared of you, Galadriel-san?" Lili asked.

"Probably because I slapped him hard enough to dislocate his jaw."

Eyes widened and jaws dropped.

"And pray tell, why did you do that?" Achilles asked.

"He was considering doing something very foolish."

"That being?" the Father On High pressed.

"If I wanted you to know, I would have simply told you, Achilles. No need to test that temper of yours," she replied with a smile.

"Great, now I'm going to be wondering all day what I should be pissed about."

Galadriel laughed, even as the tension and confusion in the room remained.

"Or you can let it go. It didn't happen, I saw to that. So, no need to be angry."

"Hm, maybe. But I still don't like being left in the dark," he returned.

"I know," she said, still smiling.

He stared at her for a moment longer before sighing and shrugging.

"Well, I guess there's no point standing around here then. Will you guys be alright here by yourselves?"

"We're not children, Achilles," Dido replied harshly.

"We'll be fine. A few hours in a mansion is hardly the worst fate that could befall us," Ajax joked.

"Alright, then let's head on out," Hestia stated.

A few goodbyes later, the Hestia familia plus one, headed out the door and in the streets.

"Oooh, it's a bit nippy. I wish Ouranos had called us after it had gotten a bit warmer," Hestia said, rubbing her arms.

A moment later, she was wrapped in warmth as a presence placed itself by her side.

"Better?" Bell asked as he pressed himself against her, his arm wrapped around her shoulder.

"Bell-kun," Hestia stared up at her captain. Then she began to beam and snuggled deeper into him. "Yes. Much."

Everyone watched the interaction, none with more intensity then a certain prum, elf, and renard.

At least Aiz isn't here. If she was, I think she'd have a jealousy overload and claim him right here in the street, Achilles noted, chuckling.

His chuckling quickly died though, as the cold tingle of unfriendly eyes crept up his spine.

Turning his own eyes, he saw many of those they were passing were looking at their group, most with eyes that could be described in only two ways: fearful or hostile.

I swear to Heaven if any of you try what Bjorn and his gaggle of shits tried, I will crucify and impale you! he mentally roared as his grip on his sword tightened.

A hand on his shoulder caused him to turn.

"It's alright, Achilles. Let the fools be fools. They can't do anything but stew in their fear, jealousy, and anger," Galadriel said.

"Doesn't mean I like it," he growled.

"I'm not asking you to. I'm asking that you don't poison yourself for such creatures," she responded gently.

He was quiet for a moment but then, taking her advice, he took a deep breath and his shoulder relaxed.

"Alright. Alright."

"Thank you," she said, her soft smile returning.

The Hestia familia plus one, arrived at the Guild and made their way inside, instantly finding themselves the center of attention, or at least, Bell was, and in the worst kind of way.

Glares and fearful eyes fell upon the young man, and now it was impossible for any of them to miss it. As a result, most members of the Hestia familia began to return the glares, forcing many to submit and turn away.

"My patience is running dry, Galadriel," Achilles growled lowly.

"Fools Achilles. Nothing but pathetic fools and cowards," she replied.

"Bell-kun!"

All eyes shifted towards the counter, finding a smiling Eina waving at them to come over.

Bell, glad for the distraction, eagerly did so, the rest of his entourage following after.

"Good morning, Eina-san," he greeted, giving her the best smile he could manage.

"Good morning. And good morning to you all as well," she said to the others. "We were informed of your meeting with Ouranos-sama. If you'll all please follow me."

They did so, most of the Hestia familia giving one final glare to those present within the Guild before disappearing into the back.

The trek through the back halls of the Guild was quiet for a time, until Galadriel decided to cut in, hoping to fully pull everyone's mind away from the anger and sadness they were feeling.

"Do you know anything about what this meeting is about, young lady?"

"Not too much I'm afraid. I do know it has something to do with some messengers that arrived from outside the city carrying official seals," Eina responded.

"Do you know which seals?" Achilles asked.

"I'm afraid not, but I did see one of the messengers. He was a high elf and was wearing quite official looking clothing. Regal, even," she answered.

"A high elf, hm?" Achilles hummed.

Hopefully it has nothing to do with Riveria, he thought.

"Here we are," Eina said, gesturing towards Ouranos's chamber.

"Thank you, Eina-san. We'll see you later," Bell said, turning to head into the chamber.

"Actually," the half-elf quickly said, stopping him. "I was hoping I would be allowed a moment to speak with you alone, Bell."

The seriousness in which she said this was not missed by anyone, nor the tinge of sadness hidden in her voice.

The group shared looks between themselves, with the only exception being Bell who looked at Eina with concerned eyes.

"Will it take long?" Hestia finally asked.

"No, it should only take a moment," Eina responded with a shake of her head.

"Alright," Hestia continued warily. "But if you try anything, little miss half-elf, and I do mean anything, there will be serious repercussions, am I understood?"

"Perfectly," Eina responded with a bow.

"Good. Bell-kun, we'll head inside, but don't be afraid to call us if you need anything," Hestia said.

"Alright. Thank you, Hestia. I'll be with you all shortly."

The entourage went inside, each wondering what the young Guild employee wanted with Bell and each worried about the state he would be in when he returned to them.

When the last of his entourage disappeared, Bell focused entirely on Eina, his heart started to pound a bit more rapidly as he began to truly fear the worst.

"What is it you wanted to talk about, Eina-san?" he asked, his voice just shaky enough for her to notice.

Hearing his uncertainty and fear instantly broke the young woman's heart and not a moment later she was shamelessly bowing before him.

"I'm so sorry Bell!"

He jumped at the force of her voice.

"W-What are you apologizing for?" he asked, as confused as he was stunned.

"For thinking negatively of you. For being afraid of you. For not remembering how good you are and for making you worry just now. For all this and more, I'm very sorry!"

Bell stared down at the bowing woman, unsure of how to respond for a time.

"Eina-san, please, don't bow. I understand. What I did...what I became...it was frightening, even for me. When I look back…" he stopped, his eyes falling. "I'm ashamed of what happened. Everyone says I had good reason or that I'm not a monster, but I'm having such a hard time believing them. What I did was monstrous, so if you are afraid of me or...or even hate-."

"I could never hate you, Bell!"

He jumped again, but he didn't have time to respond as she instantly took his hands and pressed them against her chest.

"Even when I was afraid, I didn't hate you. But I know now that I don't need to be afraid either. You are Bell Cranel, my favorite adventurer, my hero, and the man I love. Nothing you've done or could do will change that, and you are certainly not a monster!"

Eina's breath was a bit ragged after her spiel, but she felt so much better after clearing the air, and so smiled brightly at Bell, only to see his face become a very nice shade of red.

"W-What?" he asked, his voice far shakier than it was before.

"Bell-kun?" she asked, cocking her head in confusion.

"W-What did you just s-say, E-Eina-san?"

She blinked, then began to replay her words, finally landing on the ones that had caused the reaction.

Her eyes widened and her face exploded in a fiery burst of color.

"I-I-I…"

I can't believe I blurted it out like that! It wasn't even the crux of what I was talking about, but more of an afterthought! she mentally screamed.

"You...you should get inside and join the others!" she suddenly declared, spewing out words so rapidly they were all basically combined into one.

"But…" Bell reached out, trying to stop her.

"Nope nope, no time to waste. It's rude to keep a god waiting, Bell-kun. Got to have manners! Okay, I'll talk to you later, bye!"

And before Bell and his level six reflexes could do anything to stop her, the half-elf maiden was booking it down the hall, mentally screaming the whole way.

Bell stared at the now empty hall, completely unsure of what to do or if he had even really heard correctly.

"Heaven above."

Bell turned to see Achilles leaning against the wall and staring at him.

"Did you gain some sort of Charm ability or does this just come naturally to you?" the older man asked.

"Dad," Bell whined, too confused to make a better reply.

"Sorry sorry, I'm sure your mind's a mess now, but we still have the meeting."

"Right," Bell said, deciding that, for now, he would put Eina's confession to the side, though he wasn't sure he was ever going to be able to look her in the eye after this.

"Though," Achilles continued. "It looks like Aiz has even more competition than she thought."

"Dad!"

The two entered, and Bell was surprised to see quite a few familias were already present, including the Loki familia.

Naturally, his eyes turned towards a certain blonde maiden who was just as eager to meet his eyes and soon the two were smiling at each other and waving.

The other couple of the two familias were doing much the same, though perhaps with a bit less puppy love.

"It's nice that we keep finding time together," Achilles said, going up to Riveria.

"Indeed," she replied, scooting herself up against him.

"You guys can flirt later," Loki teased, getting a few chuckles from the surrounding group. "What's this about Ouranos?"

"You shall be told once Freya arrives."

Bell and Achilles lost their smiles, which immediately created a tense atmosphere in the room.

"I suppose that makes sense," Achilles replied dryly, Riveria rubbing his back to calm him.

Bell didn't say anything, his eyes simply fell to the floor as a flurry of emotions flew through him.

His eyes snapped back up when he felt his hand being taken and quickly discovered Aiz next to him, smiling reassuringly.

"It'll be okay, Bell. Whatever happens."

Her words and smile eased his heart and he managed to squeeze her hand and smile back.

"Thank you, Aiz."

Not much time later, the missing goddess and her familia arrived.

"Pardon my tardiness, Ouranos," she said, her voice subdued but nowhere near as cold as it had been during the Denatus.

"You are here now, that's what matters," the seated god stated. "Now we may get to the purpose of this meeting."

Everyone gave him their undivided attention.

"Yesterday, Royman received emissaries from Athens." That piqued interest throughout the room. "Three were received: the vice-captain of the Athena familia, a lord from the High Elves, and finally the captain of the Mania familia."

To the confusion of the Hestia familia, a lot of attention suddenly shifted to Achilles.

"M...Mania?" the former captain asked, his eyes wide.

The Hestia familia shared looks, wondering what was going on and more than a bit alarmed by the reaction.

"Yes," Ouranos continued, unperturbed. "She took up residency in Athens some years ago and is now one of Athena's most trusted allies."

"S-She's in Athens?" Achilles whispered, his voice even shakier.

Riveria, knowing what was troubling him, returned to rubbing his back.

"It's alright, Achilles. She'll be happy to see you, I promise," she said gently.

"After what I did?" he asked, his uncertain eyes meeting hers.

She smiled.

"I promise," she reiterated.

That wasn't enough to completely end his anxiety, but it was enough to ease the unknown burden on his shoulders and a moment later, he took a deep breath and nodded.

Seeing that the situation had calmed, Ouranos continued.

"The purpose of their arrival was to request aid against Rakia. Apparently they are on the offensive once more. However, unlike previous attacks on Athens, according to the emissaries, they have new strategies which are causing a great deal of damage."

"What are they doing now?" Loki asked.

"They have apparently taken to monster herding and using that as a means of offensive against Athens. According to the emissaries, many villages have already been destroyed using this method."

The already tense air in the room grew worse at this news.

"Mercenaries, including many former adventurers have been hired and combined with the monster herding have kept most of Athens forces at bay. Finally, Ares seems to have finally learned after his many failed invasions of Orario that numbers don't mean as much when up against levels. He has created a special unit within his army of falna carrying soldiers. They are harshly trained and battle-hardened, but according to the emissaries they are mostly in the level two or three range. These new soldiers have been tasked with special missions such as assassination of officers and sabotage, leading to disarray amongst the Athenian troops and forcing them to pull resources away from the front," Ouranos explained.

Many nodded, seeing how this could put pressure on Athens, however, it was noted by many that something was off.

"Ouranos-sama, permission to speak," Finn said, stepping forward.

"Granted."

"While I won't make light of this situation and I can imagine the suffering occurring, this doesn't seem like enough for a nation as powerful as Athens to request aid. They are the great magic nation and have more mages than even Orario. I'm sure things are stressful for them at this time, but not enough to call for outside help."

"You are perceptive as always, Finn Deimne, as well as correct. We at that Guild do not believe that this request is genuine, but serves another purpose, a major clue of which they provided for themselves," Ouranos said, turning to Royman.

"The Athenian emissaries provided us a list of adventurers they wanted to take part in this expedition," the elf said, pulling out a scroll. "First and foremost was Achilles Caesar," he began, turning his eyes to the man. "This was effectively a demand from the captain of the Mania familia and he warned of repercussions should this be denied."

Eyes shifted back to Achilles as they wondered why he was so sought after. Sure, his strength and power were legendary, but to make a demand during a diplomatic mission to request aid seemed mad.

"Next, was Ottar." The boaz's frown deepened a bit, clearly indicating that he had no intention of following the request and leaving his lady's side. "After him was Riveria Ljos Alf. This time it was the High Elf who was making demands. Apparently Larfal was quite adamant about this."

Riveria didn't like the sound of that, but was soon pulled away from her concern when Achilles returned her comfort by squeezing her hand.

She smiled and silently thanked him before turning back to Royman.

"Aiz Wallenstein was also requested. Tsubaki Collbrande. Asfi Al Andromeda. Shakti Varma. And finally Lefiya Viridis."

"Me?" Lefiya asked, confused. The others she understood given their strength and renown, but she couldn't picture why Athens wanted or even knew of her.

"It's likely because of your magic," Riveria explained. "Someone who can use all elf magic is something a country built upon magic would very much like to see and learn more about."

Now understanding, Lefiya nodded, though she did feel a little good knowing that she had apparently caught Athens's attention.

"That's quite the list there," Achilles stated.

"Indeed, and I suspect many of you already understand what the actual purpose of this request for aid is," Ouranos said.

Many nodded, but Finn explained for those that didn't.

"They want to test our strength. To see how much of a divide there is between Orario and Athens, if there is one at all. They want to know if they need to be afraid of our strength or if they can take advantage of our weakness."

That last bit did not sit well with anyone and the seriousness of the situation grew.

"Yes. This is an intelligence mission, not a cry for help," Ouranos continued. "As such, I will not force any of you to go. However, I am offering it as an official mission for any that do wish to."

This time, it was Loki who explained.

"You want us to spy right back."

"Yes," Ouranos answered immediately. "It is no secret that many, if not most of the other nations around the world, covet Orario. As the only true source of magic stones and with the only Dungeon in the world, we are an exceptionally valuable resource and power onto ourselves. Many would like to place themselves atop the Dungeon and gain access to its resources and riches. In order to prevent their aggression and the repercussions that would occur in such a scenario, we need information. The more we have, the better our situation."

Again, many nodded, though a few did look confused.

Achilles stepped forward.

"If my familia will allow me, I will go," he said.

"You want to take this mission, Achilles-kun?" Hestia asked.

"I need to take this reason for...personal reasons," he answered.

His familia shared looks and were even more desperate for answers, but knew they would get them soon enough and so nodded.

"Well if you're going, then we are too. All of us," Hestia stated, smiling as she placed her hands on her hips.

"That may not be wise," Royman cut in. "Welf Crozzo would not be welcome in Athens at any point, least of all when they are in conflict with Rakia."

It was clear that the Hestia familia hadn't thought of that and they turned to their smith, who sighed.

"I can stay back. Someone has to watch the manor," he said dejectedly.

"No," Bell said firmly. "You are a member of this familia and have as much right to come with us as anyone. You stood by me when the whole city turned against me, so let me return the favor now by standing by you."

The power begin his voice was a reminder to everyone in this room that Bell Cranel, for all his youth, kindness, and good heart, was still a force to be reckoned with and was not someone who would stand by when those he cared about needed him.

Welf, after getting over his surprise, smiled and nodded.

"If you're sure."

"Definitely," Bell replied, smiling right back.

"You heard him, Athens can eat a fat one if they don't like it. Beggars can't be choosers, after all," Achilles said.

Royman didn't seem to like this, but remained silent.

"Very well, the Hestia familia shall be added to this mission. Any others?" Ouranos asked.

"I'll go. My father will have a tantrum if I don't," Riveria said.

"I'll also go," Aiz said, turning to Bell and receiving a smile.

"I'll go as well!" Lefiya said a bit too forcefully, blushing after calming down. "If that's okay with you, Captain?" she asked, turning to Finn.

"We'll manage," he replied, smiling.

"I wanna go too! This sounds like fun!" Tiona said, surprising Lefiya and Aiz with a hug.

"Did you not hear anything that's been said?" Tione asked, annoyed.

"Not really!"

As Tione rolled her eyes and others laughed, Hephaestus stepped forward.

"I can't spare my captain. If they want to see what we're producing they can go to one of my shops in Athens," she said.

"I also cannot spare Shakti. She's the heart and soul of my familia and things will become disorganized should she take part in this pseudo-mission," Ganesha stated.

Ouranos nodded.

"I will not leave my lady's side for the whims of some other goddess," Ottar stated firmly enough to cause chills.

"I will send Hedin and Hogni in his place," Freya said. "They are high enough level to please Athens little conspiracy and maybe having other elven royalty around will please Larfal."

Riveria didn't like any of what the goddess just said, not one bit.

Why do I feel like this has more to do with me than the mission? she wondered.

"Very well," Ouranos replied.

"Asfi will also be happy to join in!" Hermes suddenly declared.

"What?!" his captain asked indignantly.

"Oh don't be like that, Asfi. It'll be fun to get out of the city walls and besides, they asked for you by name. You wouldn't want to disappoint a customer, would you?" the god asked.

She stared at him in disbelief for a few moments before realizing what he was doing and sighing.

"I shall also go, Ouranos-sama."

"So will I," Aisha said, stepping up. "It'll be nice to see some of the world, and I got to make sure my little sis isn't snatched up by some Athenian noble asshole."

"Aisha-san!" Haruhime cried, mortified by her 'big sister'.

"It seems we have our expedition," Ouranos said. "Very well. Officially you will be aiding Athens against Rakia, but you will all be tasked with gathering information on the strength of Athens as well as its intentions. This must be done in secret? Am I understood?"

"Yes, Ouranos-sama!" they all replied.

"Then you are excused."

Released from the meeting, everyone prepared to leave. However, the patience of the Hestia familia had officially run dry as they immediately gathered around Achilles.

"Dad, why are you so nervous about Mania-sama?" Bell asked.

Achilles sighed.

"Because I'm afraid to see her."

"Why?" Bell continued to press as gently as he could be.

"To put it bluntly...because you weren't the first person to adopt me."

The Hestia familia blinked, not having expected that answer.

"I was never that close to my birth family," Achilles began to explain. "I was the oldest child, but it was clear that my parents and siblings all thought I was odd. Too much of a dreamer. As such and to no one's real surprise, at fifteen, I left my village and made my way to Orario where I joined the Zeus familia, as you know. At first I sent money home and wrote letters somewhat regularly, but as more time passed the Zeus familia became more and more my real family and my contact with my blood relatives began to dry up. That last letter I sent them was right before we began the great quests."

Everyone nodded, waiting for the bit about Mania.

"During my time with the Zeus familia, my captain, Chiron, became like a father to me. I looked up to him, asked him for advice, and wanted to be like him. He was the first 'true' parent I had, and ironically it was through him that I met the woman I would soon view as my true mother, Mania," he smiled, but it lasted only a moment as a guilty look soon replaced it.

"It's alright, Achilles," Riveria reiterated.

He took a deep breath and nodded, before continuing.

"Chiron was old friends with Mania and introduced us. Like you, Bell, we shared a love of the old legends," he smiled at his son, who returned it. "As well as discussions of history, philosophy, moral dilemmas, so on and so forth. Besides Briseis and Freya, she was the woman I spent the most time with. Finally, one day I came back home after being rejected by Freya again. I was in low spirits as I didn't think I'd ever be worthy of her," shame returned to his eyes, and only burned away when Riveria squeezed his hand. "Mania found me and comforted me. It was the first time I received a lap pillow," he laughed, getting a few smiles. "I actually told her that and she was surprised and asked me if my mother ever had. I said no, and explained my family situation to her. She was quite displeased with that and promptly stated that, as of that moment, she would be my mother." He laughed again while his familia got over their surprise at the proclamation. "Just like you, I was a bit shocked by that, but after smiling at me and going into a whole spiel about how 'boys need mothers', I found myself relenting. From that point on she was my mother."

"That's so sweet," Hestia cooed.

Achilles nodded.

"Just like Mania. One of the sweetest women I know. However," once more his smile dropped. "That's the problem. After what happened with the Dragon, I was so focused on running towards the ends of the earth that I lost contact with her. For nearly sixteen years I've not had any contact with my mother. It's why I haven't mentioned her or...perhaps more accurately, couldn't mention her. Just thinking about her now..." he couldn't finish.

Now his familia understood.

"You're worried she's going to be mad at you?" Bell asked.

"Worse, I'm afraid she's going to be disappointed in me, disappointed to the point of disgust. Not only for failing to contact her, but for failing the quest and running away like a coward."

"Dad," Bell said gently.

"Achilles," the others said.

"I know what you're all going to say, but I can't believe it, not after everything. She'd be totally justified in her disappointment and disgust and, if she wished to rescind her claim on me, I wouldn't blame her."

Many a sad look were shared amongst the mortals and deities, the sight of Achilles self-loathing weighing heavily on his heart.

"Dad," Bell called, going up to the older man and hugging him. "It sounds like Mania-sama loves you. If that's true then the only thing I can imagine her being when she sees you is happy and relieved."

Achilles smiled sadly down at Bell and stroked his hair.

"I wish that was true."

"Then we'd best make our way to Athens as quickly as possible so that you can see that it is!" Bell declared, his voice filled with determined fire. "Plus, I'd rather like to meet my grandmother."

The declaration, especially the last part, surprised the others a bit, Achilles most of all, but soon they were laughing.

"I suppose an introduction is in order," Achilles relented, finally smiling genuinely.

The mood lifted, everyone that remained began making their way out of the chamber.

The goddess of beauty had watched the entire scene from a distance, making sure to keep a healthy distance. It was only when it was clear they were about to leave that she called out.

"Hestia." Her call caused all to turn to her. Many eyes immediately turned suspicious, most notably those of Bell and Achilles, which hurt her tremendously, but she held firm. "A quick word, if I may."

"Alright," Hestia replied before turning to everyone. "You guys go on ahead, I'll be just a moment."

"Are you sure you don't want one of us standing by, Hestia-sama?" Ryuu asked.

"Yes, it's fine, we're still in Ouranos's chamber after all."

Wary as they were, the goddess still received a series of nods and the others continued on their way out.

"What is it, Freya?" Hestia asked.

"I just wished to ask if you had given Bell and Achilles my letters," Freya responded.

Hestia blinked.

"Oh...no. I'm sorry, with everything that's happened I guess I forgot."

"I see…" Freya returned, her voice becoming the low, sad thing Hestia had heard at the Denatus.

"Freya." The goddess of beauty met the eyes of the hearth goddess. "I don't know what's going on with you. Part of me wants to believe that you've actually changed. That you've realized the mess you've made and want to correct things, but most of me doesn't trust you one bit. However, because I said I would and because I think Bell-kun and Achilles-kun deserve to make up their own minds about you, I will give them your letters. I promise."

Freya smiled and nodded.

"Thank you, Hestia. I do appreciate that."

"Show your appreciation by not plotting anything or causing any more trouble."

"I think I can do that."

"Good. Now, I need to join the others before Achilles's very limited patience runs out," Hestia stated.

Freya laughed lightly.

"I won't keep you any longer."

With that, the two goddesses parted, one with a lifted spirit, the other wondering if her old acquaintance had truly grown.

"We're back everyone!" Hestia declared. "And we're not alone!"

A few moments later, the children ran in and began asking the numerous familias questions, much to everyone's amusement.

"Welcome back, and hello everyone" Astraea greeted, joining the group.

"Sorry about them. Too much energy and not enough ways to use it," Polyxo said as she tried to calm down her children.

"It's alright," Bell said, his million valis smile playing across his lips.

"We do have quite a bit to tell you all," Hestia said.

"Well then, let's all sit down," Astraea suggested.

Everyone gathered in the living room and sat down, the couples naturally joining each other on their given seats.

"So, what did Ouranos want?" Take asked.

"Apparently, some emissaries from Athens just arrived and asked for aid against Rakia," Hestia began.

"Athens? That's a bit of a surprise," Miach said, noting that Cassandra seemed suddenly more interested in the conversation.

"It's even more surprising that Athena would ask for help. Things must be pretty dire for her to make such a request," Astraea stated.

"Things are, apparently, a bit worse than their previous conflicts, but Ouranos doesn't believe that's the real reason why Athens made the request. He thinks that is just a convenient excuse to have Orario's best adventurers come to Athens so they can see, as he put it, 'how much of a divide there is between Orario and Athens, if there is one at all'," Hestia explained.

That was a bit surprising for those present, and a tad concerning.

"Given that it doesn't appear he outright denied them, that means Ouranos wants you to go and spy on them," Dido said.

"You got it, Frowny," Loki said, causing the frown to deepen.

"Yes he does," Hestia reaffirmed. "We decided that we would all go as Achilles was specifically requested, no surprise there." The others nodded. "Also, apparently, Mania is there," the goddess continued.

That got some real surprise, namely from the Zeus and Hera familia who turned to Achilles.

"Mama Mania's there?" Ajax asked.

"It appears so. One of the emissaries is her captain, according to Ouranos."

"Wow. I can imagine she outright demanded you come once she heard you were here," Ajax said.

Achilles nodded.

"If only so she could properly scold me."

Sad eyes returned as the guilt and shame returned to the former captain.

To most everyone's surprise, it was Imilce who stepped forward.

"Achilles, I doubt very much that Mania is going to be anything but thrilled to see you," she said honestly and with a tender smile. "Especially," she turned to Bell. "Once you tell her she's a grandmother."

Bell smiled back before turning to Achilles who managed a small smile.

"I hope so," the father said.

"It appears we're missing something," Take said.

"Mania is effectively Achilles's mom. She all but legally adopted him, which is why we call her, Mama Mania," Ajax explained.

"That sounds like a story we'd all like to hear," Astraea said, getting a few affirmations.

Feeling the interested, if somewhat worried eyes of those present, Achilles sighed and retold the story.

"I see," Astraea. "Well, I for one again with Imilce-san's assessment about how Mania will be nothing but thrilled to see you. Even so, I will add a little warning. You'd best be prepared, because I suspect that she is going to hug you so tightly she might break your back."

A few laughed and even Achilles couldn't help but smile.

"I hope so. I've missed her so much."

"As any son should. However, if you're all going, who will be here to guard the manor?" Astraea asked.

"We can help with that," Miach said, getting agreement from Take.

"I can send someone around every once in a while too," Hephaestus offered.

"And I'm sure plenty of our familia wouldn't mind having some nice, simple, house-sitting duty," Shakti added.

"I am Ganesha! No, I don't think they would!" the god added boisterously, getting laughs from the children and a sigh from his captain.

"Thank you everyone, I appreciate your help," Hestia said.

"No need to thank us. We get to enjoy staying in your lovely home while you're away. That's plenty of reward by itself," Miach said.

"Actually." Everyone turned to see Daphne pushing a very nervous Cassandra forward. "Do you mind if we ask a favor in return?"

"What's the favor?" Hestia asked.

"Take Cassandra with you."

"Daphne!" Cassandra cried.

"She's always wanted to go to Athens since it's the country of mages and all that. Also, she thinks that she might find someone there who can help her with her weird dreams."

"D-Daphne!" Cassandra cried again, now looking like she was actually going to cry.

"Well, Ouranos already officially assigned this mission to us," Achilles said. Cassandra deflated and her tears grew. "However, I don't think Athens is going to complain about getting more 'help', plus if you wanted to 'take a trip' to Athens alongside us, there's not much we can do to stop you, is there?"

Cassandra's tears stopped and her eyes lit up.

"I-I promise not to get in anyone's way!" she vowed before bowing.

A few people laughed and once Cassandra stopped bowing she got a thumbs up from Daphne, making the girl blush, though it was clear as day she was still pleased as punch, given her smile.

"I think I'll stay behind too," Ajax jumped in.

That caused surprise, especially from his wife.

"You don't want to come?" Patroclus asked.

"It's not that I don't want to, I'd love to give Ares a good kick to the pants, but I can't ask my family to come traipsing with us. We just got here and the journey was tough on the little ones. I can't ask them to pick up and travel hundreds of miles again and into a warzone."

Everyone understood and nodded. However, his wife touched his arm, catching his attention.

"You should go with them. We can manage here for a little while," she said.

"Oh come on, Poly, these brats run us ragged together, you'll be pulling your hair out without me."

"And you'll feel guilty if you don't go," she pointed out. "I'll be fine. Besides, it sounds like I might be getting a little help from the other house-sitters."

"We'd be happy to help," Chigusa said, smiling and hugging Ouka's arm.

"Of course," Ouka readily agreed, happy to go along with whatever made her happy.

"I'll come by too! It'll be good practice for when Captain and I have babies!" Tione declared.

"Tione," he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose while a blush played across his cheeks.

"See. I'll have help," Polyxo said.

"Still…" Ajax said warily.

"Honey. Go. It's alright. I and the children will be fine," Polyxo vowed.

The conviction behind her words finally pushed him over the edge and nodded.

"Good. Help your friends, and bring me back something nice. That'll be enough," his wife ordered.

"I think I can do that," he said before leaning down to kiss her. "I love you."

"I love you too, big guy."

"Looks like that's settled," Hephaestus said.

"But it does bring up a question. Do the rest of you plan to join us?" Ryuu asked.

"I'm definitely coming along!" Patroclus declared immediately.

"As annoying as it is to be leaving right after we finally returned to this city, we shall also follow. Athens has many rare items and unusual tools that are hard to come by elsewhere, so passing up a chance to go would be unwise," Dido said.

"I'll go as well and help whatever way I can," Imilce said.

"You can't get rid of me that easily," Galadriel said, smiling.

"Great. Then it looks like we're keeping the gang together," Achilles said.

"Happy to hear it," Hestia said with a smile.

"If that's all settled then you all should probably start packing. It's a long way to Athens and you don't know how long you'll be gone," Finn pointed out.

"He's right. We need to make sure we're prepared for whatever challenges this mission will have to offer," Achilles said.

Those going on the mission nodded and with that the meeting ended and everyone got up to leave.

Haruhime was also making her way out, when she heard her name being called.

"Aisha-san? How can I help you?" she asked.

"Come with me a second," the amazon told her.

Confused, the renard did as she was asked and followed after her big sister.

The two went to a more secluded part of the manor and once Aisha was sure she they were alone, she pulled out something from a satchel she was carrying.

"Here," she said, handing the young woman a book.

"What's this?" Haruhime asked.

"A grimoire."

"What?!"

"Shh!" Aisha said, covering her mouths. "I thought it could help you, so I snagged it."

"'Snagged it'? You mean you stole this?!" Haruhime asked, shocked.

"No, I just took it from my god. He's got a whole bunch of them just laying around. He won't even notice one's gone," Aisha replied.

His uptight captain, however…

"I...I can't accept this."

"Yes you can. You need to get stronger, Haruhime. Not only so you can better protect yourself, but also so you can get closer to your man," Aisha said.

"He...he's with Aiz-sama now," the renard replied, looking away

"So you're giving up on him?"

The way that Aisha said that, with disbelief and a clear bit of anger, that made Haruhime's eyes snap back to her. The two stared into each other's eyes for a few moments, before suddenly, the fire that Bell had awakened with her, roared to life.

"No. Never," Haruhime answered firmly. She then took a step back and bowed. "Thank you very much, Aisha-san."

The amazon smiled proudly.

"That's a good girl. And if you want to thank me, share him with me once you snatch him up."

Despite her previous fire, Haruhime's face immediately burst into flames.

"Aisha-san!"

Freya had spent hours thinking about the meeting, namely her conversation with Hestia.

I do wish she had given them the letters, if only so I could rip the proverbial band aid of their rejection off, but I suppose I can not blame her. Much has happened the last few days and I'm not exactly in her good graces.

A knock at her door stopped her thoughts and she turned. A moment later, Ottar entered.

"My lady, Gumi has arrived."

"Has she?" Freya asked with a smile. "Well bring her in, and stay as well Ottar, I have something I wish to discuss with you two."

Ottar was curious what his lady needed, but, of course, would happily do all that she requested. As such, he simply opened the door wider and held it open to allow the girl behind him to rush in.

"Freya-sama! I've missed you so much!" Gumi declared, beaming at her goddess.

The girl before the goddess was quite a bit more eccentric than even the average Orario citizen was used to.

The first thing one would notice was that she was a prum. She had red and white hair that was tied up in braids and, even more interestingly, her eyes were different colors. One was red, the other blue. However, the thing that really stood out about her was that she was wearing a western style maid outfit the same colors as her hair, along with expensive and powerful looking gauntlets and greaves, while also carrying an eastern style paper umbrella.

"Hello, Gumi," Freya greeted. "It's good to see you."

"Hehe, and it's wonderful to see you, my lady. How can I help you? You need me to kill someone for you?" she asked using the same tone as someone asking if their friend needs help moving furniture.

"Always so eager," Freya said, not at all displeased or off-put by the question. "But no, I do not need anyone killed. I actually had an entirely different plan in mind that I think you and Ottar will be very helpful with."

"Really? Me and the big guy?" Gumi said, turning to Ottar, who quickly shared a look with her before they both turned back to their goddess.

"Indeed," Freya said, smiling at the two of them. "You see, Gumi, I have found myself falling in love with three, absolutely wonderful people. However, I have recently made a series of mistakes that has caused a distance to open up between us."

"That's impossible. You don't make mistakes, Freya-sama," Gumi said, her voice filled with adoration and a tad bit of desperation.

"I appreciate you saying so, my dear, but even I make mistakes, and unfortunately in this case, I have. The result of my mistake is that two of my dearly beloveds want nothing to do with me."

"What?! How dare they turn you away! I'll kill them for the insul-!" Gumi cried.

"Gumi!" Freya shouted, cutting off the prum girl and instantly cowing her. "You shall not harm a single hair on their heads. Am I understood?" the goddess demanded, her voice deadly seriously.

"Y-Yes, F-Freya-sama."

"Good. As I said, I love these two dearly and it is I, not they, who have done wrong. However, there is a way for me to redeem myself, a way that just so happens to be through my third beloved. A lovely young woman named Haruhime."

"What would you have of us, my lady?" Ottar asked.

"I was correct when I said that Haruhime was the key to bringing Bell and Achilles to me, but I was wrong in the method," she explained. "I do not need to seduce her but take after her. To have the same kindness and warmth that she has. I need to show them that I've changed. That I take what I did, the mistakes I made, very seriously, and wish to make amends."

"But you are the kindest person ever, Freya-sama!" Gumi said, her desperation on full-blast now as she could not imagine her goddess as anything but wonderful and perfect.

"I agree," Ottar seconded.

Freya smiled in appreciation to the two of them.

"But Bell and Achilles wouldn't," she pointed out.

"Then they're stupid buttheads!" Gumi couldn't help but shout, despite her goddess's earlier warning.

Freya laughed.

"No, they aren't. As I said, I made mistakes and pushed them too far. But through Haruhime I can correct my mistakes," she turned to Ottar.

"I want you two to join the expedition to Rakia. There you will play nice and do as requested, but your primary job will be to protect Haruhime."

"To what end?" Ottar asked, wanting only t o fully understand his lady's mind.

"Protecting Haruhime is a gateway. A starting point to show that I have changed. That all I want is the best for the three of them and that I will love and cherish them, even from afar. I will not push or demand, at best I will request, but even that will be rare. It will take time, and I will have to be patient, but given Haruhime's kindness and compassion, in time I suspect she will become open to speaking with me and growing closer. From there I must work to prove myself trustworthy and worthy of love. If I can earn her trust and love, then, through their love of her, I will earn their love as well."

The two thought on their lady's words for a time. Gumi was perhaps the most resistant to the plan, not because she didn't trust and want the best for her goddess, the opposite, in fact. She wanted to immediately go and force these 'two beloveds' to apologize for making her lady upset and demand they love Freya. Ottar however, saw what his goddess was trying to do and its potential.

She will have to be patient. The Hestia familia will be untrusting at best and paranoid at worst about even our mere presence, but in time, they may become more open, Haruhime especially, given her gentleness. However, there is an issue.

"Are you sure that Bell Cranel loves Haruhime? Achilles sees her as a daughter and loves her as such, but the plan may be difficult if Bell does not hold such feelings for her." Ottar stated.

Freya smiled.

"Oh she has a place in his heart, of that I have no doubt, it simply needs a chance to bloom, and given how much like the sun she is, I don't think that will be a problem."

Her confidence eased Ottar's concern, though he did remember another problem his lady faced. Or, more accurately, two problems.

"But there is still the Sword Princess and Nine Hells," he pointed out.

Freya's smile wavered, but only for a moment.

"True, as long as those two are around, it will be more difficult to win Bell and Achilles. However I think you're right about them, Ottar. Riveria's a member of high elven royalty and it'll be a scandal once it's revealed that she's with a human, even one with such an exceptional resume. Her family will likely compel a separation, especially her father. The idea of his daughter being so close to a 'monkey' wouldn't sit well with him." Ottar nodded. "As for Aiz Wallenstein, revenge has eaten away at her heart, that's been clear for a long time. Much longer than she's known Bell. And while she can smile now, one day she'll have to confront a choice. Revenge or Bell; and as much as she might be enjoying Bell now, she's had her quest for vengeance burning within her for years. That is not something easily given up, even for love. Even if she tries to hold onto him, she will still pull away in the name of her quest, causing a rift between them. A rift that our lovely renard will be able to fill and, by extension, myself as well."

"Are you alright with that, Freya-sama? It makes you sound like you're playing second fiddle to the foxy girl," Gumi asked.

"I wouldn't think of it like that. It's more like an orchestra. Many players are a part of it, but each one brings something different, which makes it all the more wonderful. Besides, why should I be jealous of her, when I will get her, and my dearest Bell and Achilles?" she answered, her smile now shiny brightly and without restraint.

Seeing her smiling so brightly, her two familia members smiled as well, happy to see that their goddess was back and, perhaps, even better than before, if that was even possible.

"Very well, my lady. We shall follow to Athens and ensure Haruhime's protection," Ottar said.

"Yeah! You can count on us!" Gumi declared.

"I know I can," Freya said as she went up to them. She placed a hand on Ottar's chest and smiled at him, before turning to Gumi and placing her other hand on her head and lovingly stroking her hair.

"Hehe," Gumi laughed, beaming at her goddess.

"Oh, and Gumi," Freya said suddenly, remembering something.

"Yes, Freya-sama?"

"Feel free to have your fun with the Rakian soldiers. Just make sure you don't do it near the Hestia familia."

Gumi's eyes darkened and her smile went from childish beaming to sadistic glee.

Night had fallen and Bell had finished packing and now sat on his bed, smiling.

Athens. The city of mages. I've wanted to go there since I was little, and now I get to, and I get to meet Dad's mom, I mean, grandma, he chuckled. I hope she likes me, he chuckled again. I guess Dad's not the only one who's nervous about seeing her.

A knock at the door snapped him back to reality and he went over and opened it.

"Hestia. Dad?" he greeted, a bit confused to see the two of them at his door. "What's going on?"

"I'm wondering that myself. Hestia said she had something she needed to tell us," Achilles replied.

"Do you mind if we come in, Bell?" Hestia asked.

"Uh, no. Not at all," Bell said, taking a step back so they could come in.

The two entered and Bell closed the door. A silence fell over the room for a moment, before Hestia took a deep breath and pulled out two letters.

"These are for you two."

The two looked at each other, before reaching out and taking the letters.

"Who are they from?" Achilles asked.

"Freya."

The two froze and a furious and regret tinted tension filled the room.

"These are from Freya?" Bell asked, a toxic concoction of emotions in his voice.

"Yes. They're apology letters, at least that's what she claimed," Hestia said.

"Apology letters?" Achilles asked, making sure he'd heard correct.

"Yes, I was surprised too. Until she gave me those, I've never heard Freya apologize. But she did, and, shocking as it sounds, I think it was genuine."

"Really?" Achilles questioned, his voice filled with the disbelief that Hestia had expected.

"Yes. She sounded so broken when she admitted that she had made a mistake."

"That's...beyond surprising," Achilles said.

"Believe me. It came as a shock to me too."

It was as the two fell silent that they realized the owner of the room had gone very quiet. They turned to him and saw him staring down at the letter.

"I won't ask if you're alright, because it's clear you're not," Achilles said.

"I'm not sure what I am," Bell said, with an unusual, dare they think it, unnatural, coldness. "Part of me is angry, yes. Part of me is confused. Part of me is shocked. Part of me feels crippled with regret over what happened. But I don't really know how I feel as a whole."

"That's understandable, given the situation," Achilles said.

"But that doesn't help me decide what I should do," Bell pointed out.

"You don't have to do anything," Hestia said. "If you want to read it, you can. If you want to rip it up or burn it, that's alright too. You can also just set it down and push it from your mind until you are ready to make a decision."

That did provide Bell some comfort and his anger and regret began to dissipate, which he was grateful for. Still, being stuck in limbo wasn't ideal.

"What do you plan to do, Dad?" he asked.

"Well, at first I was going to rip it to shreds and let the wind scatter the pieces," Achilles replied quickly. "However, after hearing what Hestia had to say, I'm going to read it. Not tonight mind you, I'm nowhere near in a good enough mood to deal with this tonight," he said holding up the letter. "But I want to see if she's actually changed. If some part of her has finally recognized that we're not just toys to be moved around and played with at her pleasure. It'd be the first time, in all my years of knowing her, that Freya has actually changed and, dare I say it, actually grown."

"I see," Bell said, his eyes turning back down to the letter.

"But that's my decision, Bell. Not yours. Hestia and I will support you no matter what. Hell, if you asked me to give that back to Freya by sticking it up someplace where the sun doesn't shine, I would."

That finally ended the tension in the room as Hestia and Bell smiled.

"I don't think I need to go quite that far," the young man said.

"Well it's an option in case you change your mind," Achilles said, smiling at him.

Feeling lighter, Bell looked down at the letter for a few more moments, before turning and strolling over to the pack he had prepared for the trip, opening it up, and placing the letter inside.

"Then I'll wait for now. Until I'm ready."

"Sounds like a plan," Achilles said.

"Is everyone ready to go?" Hestia asked.

"Not quite," Ajax replied.

The big man went up to his wife and kissed her breathless. When they broke apart, she playfully smacked his chest and bid him farewell.

"Alright kiddos, I expect you to be on your best behavior. If I find out you lot caused your mother extra trouble just because I wasn't around, I'm gonna be really mad."

"We'll be good, Papa!" Antiope promised.

"We swear," Telamon added.

"Good," Ajax said, kissing his daughters' heads and ruffling his sons' hair. "Then I'll be back soon, with stories and gifts in tow."

"Yay!" Antiope cried.

"Now I'm ready," Ajax said, turning to Hestia.

"Then let's head out," the goddess said.

The Hestia familia and their Zeus and Hera add-ons departed the manor with one final wave and round of goodbyes and entered the streets of Orario.

It was still relatively early, so there weren't as many people out and about as there would be, but that didn't stop the Hestia familia from forming a protective wall around Bell to guard him from any unfriendly onlookers. It was pretty clear what they were doing, but luckily for them, Bell was currently distracted by his new pet rabbit.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to bring him, Bell-sama? I'm sure the children would have been happy to take care of him," Lili asked.

"You're probably right, but it seemed cruel to part with him so soon after getting him. Plus, I was a bit afraid he'd forget about me if I left him alone for so long," Bell replied as he continued stroking the rabbit's fur, much to its clear delight.

"So have you thought of a name for him yet?" Welf asked.

"Not yet," Bell replied as he continued to pet the ball of fur.

"Bell Jr. seems the most fitting," Hestia said.

"What?" Bell asked, finally snapping away from the loveable fluff.

"I wholeheartedly agree," Ryuu said, causing Bell's head to shoot towards her only to have her smile teasingly at him.

"That's got my vote," Welf added.

"Lili thinks that would be the most suitable," the prum stated.

"I agree with everyone," Mikoto said.

Haruhime laughed and nodded.

"It does seem perfect."

"Guys!" Bell cried, causing everyone in his familia to immediately start laughing.

They arrived at the gates of Orario where the others were waiting for them.

"There you are, Chibi," Loki greeted.

"Here we are," Hestia greeted back.

"My my, quite the entourage," Hermes said, eying the Zeus and Hera familia members. "I feel safer already."

"And my kiddies didn't already make ya feel safe?" Loki asked.

"Of course, but it's always nice to have more friends nearby, especially ones with such experience," the playful god replied diplomatically.

"Where's Bell?" Aiz said, trying to find her lover.

"He's here, pouting," Achilles said, pointing to Bell's location.

The Hestia familia parted, revealing that, indeed, Bell was busy pouting, even as he snuggled with his bunny.

"What's wrong?" Aiz asked, a bit concerned by his evident bad mood.

"Let me guess," Riveria cut in. "They teased you about the rabbit."

"They said I should name him Bell," the Hestia captain replied, his pout growing.

Riveria smiled, but restrained her chuckle, which could not be said for everyone.

"I'm guessing they also made some comparisons," the elf added.

He didn't reply this time, only pouted more.

Aiz looked between Bell and the rabbit before reaching out and petting it. The rabbit immediately pushed its head into her hand seeking more affection, delighting the Sword Princess.

"Well you're both very cute," she said.

Bell's pouting evaporated in an instance and was replaced with a dusting of red on his cheeks and a small smile.

"Thank you."

Oh, so when Aiz says you're cute, it's acceptable, Achilles thought before turning to Riveria and rolling his eyes playfully.

"Hate to break the moment, but there's something really not cute headed this way," Bete growled, his eyes pointed down the street.

Everyone turned and found that the Freya familia was headed their way. Hedin and Hogni were there as expected, but so was Ottar, much to their shared surprise, and a very colorful prum girl who was positively beaming.

"Good morning," Ottar greeted.

"I thought you said you weren't coming?" Achilles questioned.

"I did not plan to, but my lady requested that I do so, along with Gumi," the boaz replied.

"Gumi?"

"That's me!" the prum girl declared, jumping in. "Hi, I'm Gumi! Oh, is that a bunny?!" she suddenly rushed over to Bell and Aiz. "He's so cute! Is it a he? Or is it a girl!?"

The girl was overwhelming Bell with how quickly she was spitting words out, but he eventually managed to respond.

"He's a boy."

"Oh, good. Whew, I was worried I hurt his feelings. I should have known given how handsome he is. What's his name?"

"I haven't decided on one yet," Bell answered honestly.

"Oh, it should be Snowball. Or Snowstorm, that's cooler! No wait, Destroyer of All, no one would expect a bunny to be named-."

"Gumi," Ottar cut in.

"Whoops. Sorry," the prum replied, rejoining her familia.

"O...kay," Patroclus said.

"Let's just get to the ship," Achilles said, having already had enough of his travelling companions.

"Yeah, don't want to be late," Loki said. "But I guess this is where we'll part. As much I want to spend more time with Aiz-tan and maube try to get one more grope in from Lefiya." The elf girl blushed and stammered. "I don't want to have to walk back from Melen after bidding you all tearful farewells."

A few people rolled their eyes.

"Stay safe. You're all very powerful, but you'll technically be in hostile territory while fighting an army," Finn warned.

"We'll be careful and keep our eyes and ears open," Riveria replied.

"Don't do anything stupid, you hear me?" Tione demanded of her sister.

"Why would you assume I would do something stupid?" Tiona asked, frowning.

"Because you always do."

"Hey!"

As most watched the sisters go at it, Bete placed himself behind Bell.

"Be careful of the Hera bitch, rabbit. She's not a friend," he whispered.

Bell turned and met the werewolf's eyes. The seriousness in them let him know this was no joke or prank. Understanding this, Bell turned to the person he knew Bete was talking about and eyed Dido warily before turning back.

"I will. Thanks."

Bete nodded and strode off.

"I'm going home and going back to sleep," he called.

"Bete! Sheesh, I'm going to need to get a collar for him," Loki groaned, earning herself a few laughs.

"I'll throw in a muzzle," Achilles added, causing more laughter.

"I can hear all you assholes!" the werewolf roared in the distance.

"We know!" Loki and Achilles called back, which in turn earned them a rather rude hand gesture.

They reached Melen and made their way to where they had been told their ship would be, not they needed to be told as the ship was not only large, but carried the Athenian Owl on its sails.

"Wow, I've never seen a ship this big," Bell said.

"It is something," Hestia said, eying the massive transport.

"Are you the Orario entourage?"

They turned to see a rabbit person in adventurer's clothes and armor standing before them, looking eager.

"We are," Hestia answered.

"Wonderful! I've been so looking forward to meeting all of you. My name is Rei and I am the captain of the Mania familia," he said with a bow.

Achilles tensed a bit, but after a gentle touch from Riveria and a deep breath and calmed down, at least until Rei turned to him and the rabbit man's eyes widened.

"You're...you're Achilles, aren't you?" Rei asked.

"I am."

Rei smiled.

"You looked just like Mania-sama described you. When she found out you were back in Orario she was ready to pack up and head straight here herself, Athena-sama barely managed to restrain her, and suggested that you come to them, that way Mania-sama could prepare a proper greeting."

"I...see," Achilles responded, still very unsure of what to think. "How is she?" he asked.

"Great now! She was practically bouncing off the walls when we left, kept saying that she wanted to use her Arcanum to come to you more quickly and cursing at storm at Athena-sama for not allowing her to come herself."

"I'm surprised she listened," Achilles said.

"Me too, but Athena-sama has helped our familia grow, so I guess that's why Mania-sama is playing nice, but her patience is very limited right now. Anyway, why don't you guys come aboard and drop off your stuff. Once all that's done, I'll tell the captain and we can set sail."

"Sounds like a plan," Achilles said.

Rei walked off, leaving the others to head onto the ship.

"See? She's happy," Riveria said, smiling.

"That helps, but I know I won't be at ease until I see her again."

"Hey, where are all you headed off to?"

The entourage stopped and turned to the voice.

"Kali," Tiona said, getting tense.

The goddess and her two captains strode up to the entourage, the goddess and Argana both smiling as they did so.

"Hm, by the sails, it looks like you're heading to Athens. I remember hearing something about some emissaries being in the city, and even mention that Rakia's invaded again. Is that why you're all here? To help them out?"

"Why so interested?" Achilles asked.

"Because if you are heading out to Athens, we'll join you," Kali replied casually.

That did not sound like a good idea to anyone.

"Why? What could you possibly get out of following us to Athens?" the Father On High pressed.

"For starters, fighting. We love a good fight and a war, even a war against someone as weak as Ares, is sure to be entertaining. Beyond that, I'm mostly doing it for my dear captains," the goddess explained, smiling. "You see, Argana's been wanting a piece of you ever since you crushed her in your fight." Said captain licked her lips as she stared at the former captain with lustful intent.

Seeing this, Riveria's hand tightened around her staff and Patroclus's tightened around his sword.

Don't even think it, girl, they both mentally growled.

"And Bache here's positively smitten with the snow-haired boy over there."

Bell froze and his eyes widened into saucers.

"W-What?"

"She wants you, boy. Bad. Never seen her interested in anyone, but she sees you as worthy of fathering her children, so I thought I'd help her out by getting her some time with you," Kali informed her, her voice dripping with mocking glee as she took joy in his evident shock.

"B-But why?" Bell managed to ask.

"You are strong, but not just of body," Bache told him. "You have a strong, good heart, which I find very desirable in a man. As such, I offer myself to you, body and soul."

Now, thanks to Aisha's training, Bell wasn't quite a blushing mess after this statement. Oh, his face was red, true enough, but he wasn't falling over himself in embarrassment. However, his mind was positively jumbled, not just because of Bache's confession, but because of the other, very recent confession he'd received.

First Eina-san, now Bache-san?!

As Bell fought with his confusions, the others weren't exactly just standing around.

Achilles looked at Bell with disbelief as he began to actually wonder if he'd developed some sort of skill version of Charm and Hestia had just somehow missed it or refused to mention it.

Meanwhile, many of the nearby ladies, as one would expect, were positively bristling, looking like they wanted to eat the amazon's heart for that comment. However, among them, one lady's anger was the worst.

The Sword Princess walked forward, her eyes fire and her hands clenched into heavy stones. She walked straight up to Bache, glared into her eyes and said.

"He's taken."

Bache seemed surprised by this and turned her eyes to Bell, who was still too stunned to say anything. Bache looked him over for a moment, before the surprise in her eyes began to fade as she noted something.

"Have you claimed him and allowed him to plant his seed?" she asked.

Aiz blinked and, in spite of her fury, her face turned scarlet.

"N-No."

"Then he is not taken. Not truly."

Bache then strode passed Aiz and up to Bell.

"My door will always be open to you," she said, smiling at him from behind her scarf.

She then gently stroked his cheek and continued on towards the ship.

"Looks like that's settled," Kali said. "See you all onboard."

The dock was utterly silent. No grave or crypt was ever so silent. Somehow, even the waves had quieted themselves, or so it seemed to all of them.

"What just happened?" Bell finally asked as he clung to his rabbit.

"We just got some uninvited, and very eager shipmates," Achilles said.

He immediately noted that his words did not seem to please many of those around him, including the elf beside him, and so he decided it was time to make an exit.

"Come on Bell, let's get onboard," he said, grabbing Bell's shoulder and turning him around.

Bell followed after, partly because he was still a bit stunned, and partly because he was now lucid enough to feel the eyes upon him and understand what they meant.

With the two men heading to the ship, the others, at least those who were burning with jealous rage, followed after, being no more inclined to stick around than the father-son duo were.

This left only the lovers and would-be lovers of the Red Dawn and Father On High. They however, were still stuck in their trances. That was, until, Aiz, realizing that Bell and Bache were now on the ship together, turned and ran after them, intent on making sure the two never had time alone together.

That snapped the rest of them out of their stupors and almost immediately, the others began to follow. The very last to do so, was a certain High Elf.

Looks like any chance of us taking it slow just flew out the window, Riveria thought as she followed after her man.

Doneso!

Alright well, that took a lot longer than expected. Sorry about that guys, motivation's been a bit low these last couples of weeks and this chapter did not want to work with me. Kept having to stop and think on how to do this one.

Anyway, enough of that, please tell me what you guys thought. Bell got two confessions after all, increasing Aiz's list of challengers and would-be usurpers. Not only that, but Freya might have turned over a new leaf, yet she has certainly not given up on her beloveds, that's for sure. Perhaps most importantly of all, were on our way to Athens, where Achilles's mother and a war await our characters! I hope you're all excited, because I certainly am.

Oh, and before we wrap up, I need a name for our dear little rabbit. No, not Bell, the actual rabbit. What should we call him? Just like the aliases, please feel free to share your thoughts as I would love to hear them.

That'll wrap it up for this chapter, so until next time everybody, bye for now!
