Chapter One

"Hey, look at that, just the girl I was looking for!"

Kagome paused mid-step, adjusting the strap of her purse as she turned on her heel. She wasn't so surprised that he'd found her so easily, but the timing could've been a bit better…- Still, she glanced up, her blue eyes meeting a much lighter pair. "Did you need something, Satoru?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "I can't stick around for long."

That comment made him give a curious hum, arching a brow. "You got plans?" When she nodded, he couldn't ignore the pang of jealousy he felt. "Yeah?" he grinned, shaking it off. "With who?"

Kagome shrugged, not phased by his questions. "Just some friends from middle school," she responded. Before he could say anything, she swiftly shook her head. "And no you can't go with me."

He pouted, putting on a dejected front when she rejected the idea before he could even propose it. "Geeze… way to crush a man's spirit."

Kagome rolled her eyes. "It's a girls' day," she explained. "Anyway…" she trailed off with a sigh. "I know how it'll go if they get a good look at you, and I don't wanna hear them fawning all over you for hours."

"No need to get jealous," he remarked with a grin. She arched a brow before turning away from him.

"Whoever said I was jealous?" she countered. "It's more so about me saving myself the grief of you being the only thing they talk about."

He sighed and backed off. It didn't look like he was going to convince her otherwise, anyway. "Oh well, if you're so sure," he stated. "I was gonna see if you wanted to do something, but you already have plans."

"Maybe next time," she responded. She glanced at the time on her phone before she turned away from him entirely. "I have to get going, or else I won't hear the end of it."

He sighed and waved her off. Once she was out of sight, he folded his arms over his chest, a small pout visible on his face.

When Kagome made it to the meeting spot they'd agreed on, it took her no time at all to notice the extra person tagging along. She was surprised as she came to a halt across from the brunette boy.

"Hojo?" Kagome craned her head to the side, confusion melding onto her face. She glanced at the three girls. "What's he doing here?" she asked. "Wasn't this…-!"

She was abruptly silenced when Yuka covered her mouth, waving her hand in Hojo's direction. "Why don't you wait right here?" she asked. "There are a few things we girls need to talk about."

"Yup!" Ayumi chimed in. "Girl stuff and all."

"Surely you get what we're talking about, right?" Eri asked, hiding her mouth as she whispered those words to him. He was taken aback, and he swiftly nodded.

"O-Oh right!" Hojo exclaimed, distancing himself by taking a few steps and giving them some more privacy. "I'll be over here when you're done."

Once he'd stepped away, Yuka unclamped her hand from Kagome's mouth. Instantly, the raven-haired girl whirled around with a glare on her face.

"About time," she hissed, her hands tightening into fists at her sides as she puffed her cheeks out. "What are you doing?!" Kagome snapped.

"Sorry for lying," Yuka stated, "but we had to come up with a plan to get you to come out."

"Lying…?" Kagome trailed off. "What'd you lie about?" she asked. The three glanced amongst each other before glancing at the boy waiting off to the side. Realization struck, and her eyes widened. "You've gotta be kidding me," she hissed. To her dismay, the three shook their heads.

"Come on, how else were we supposed to get you to go on a date?" Yuka asked, flipping her hand by her head. "You two make the perfect pair, too."

"That's not for you to decide," Kagome remarked. "Maybe I already have a boyfriend," she added after a second, huffing. "Did you ever think of that?"

"But you don't," Eri stated in a matter-of-fact tone, making Kagome's eyes narrow. "Can't you just give him a chance?" she asked. "The dates you had with him in middle school never went as planned, but it's gotta work out now."

Ayumi nodded. "You're already out here, too," she remarked. "You can't just pass it up."

Kagome glared at the three. "I can," she remarked, and the three whined.

"Oh, come on," Yuka sighed as she set her hands on her hips. "It's one date."

"That I didn't even know about!" she hissed.

"It won't hurt anything," Eri responded. "And if things don't go well, then we'll let it go."

Kagome was silent for several long seconds as she processed what was going on. After a minute, she turned away from them with a growl.

"I can't believe you three…" She turned to leave. Before she could take a step, her gaze landed on Hojo, and she stopped herself. "You didn't tell him that you were setting this date up, did you?" she asked.

The three looked at each other before shaking their heads.

"No…" Ayumi said. "He thinks you were aware."

Another prick of annoyance flared up in her, and she suppressed her groan. "I can't believe you're doing this to me," she muttered under her breath.

She'd feel guilty if she just ditched him, and her friends knew she wouldn't be able to do it. The three giggled and pushed her forward before scampering off together.

"Enjoy your dateee~!" They sang.

Kagome glared at them, tightening her grip on the strap of her purse.

"... those little rats."

The type of silence emitting from him was easy to pick up on. Maybe it was the irritation on his face, or the way he impatiently tapped his shoe on the ground. Maybe it was the intense glare plastered on his face.

Well… It was really a combination of all of it.

"Did you have to point it out?" Shoko drawled out, glancing up at the black-haired guy at her side.

"He would've noticed sooner or later," Geto responded, catching her gaze. Shoko shrugged, unable to deny that.

"That's the type of guy she goes for!?" Gojo unceremoniously motioned to the pair all the way down the street, seated at an outdoor cafe.

What'd she even see in him? Especially when he was right there!

She'd said she was going to hang out with friends from middle school for a girls' day, yet there were no others with them. Had she been lying…? No, he would've caught it if that was the case. If there's one thing Kagome was, it was a horrible liar.

No words were exchanged when Gojo pushed himself away from the other two. They watched as he walked off. After a few seconds, Shoko looked back up at the taller figure beside her.

"... Should one of us try to stop him?" she questioned.

"Logically, yes," Geto responded. "Is it going to be me?" he asked. "No. I want to see how this goes."

Shoko nodded, seemingly in agreement. "Might be entertaining."

Gojo reached the pair, coming up behind the raven-haired girl. He didn't bother to hide the glare on his face, directed to the brunette boy across from her as he came to a halt. Kagome was swift to notice his presence, tilting her head back to look up.

"Sorry, am I interrupting your date?"

Auroua-chan: I've been wanting to post this one for a little while now. Got it revised and ready to go up finally.
This story will take place during Gojo's school years.

There's been a bit of a misunderstanding (provoked by those three little pesky friends of Kagome.) Gojo might make it worse, letting his jealousy get the better of him. Kagome being so oblivious of the way he feels doesn't help much, either.

Anyway, that's it for now! Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed! Hopefully I caught all the errors before posting, but if not sorry.

Please remember to Review&Favorite&Follow, thank you.

Bye for now~
