"Mikasa how dare you defy the laws of our clan!?" demanded a furious Hyashi Hyuuga. The man had pale skin with long black hair and the signature white eyes of his clan. He was angry.
Very angry and he was directing it towards one woman in particular. She had pale skin and long black hair. She also had the signature Hyuuga eyes but she had something on her forehead.
If you looked closely at it, it was a seal. They were in a room inside of the Hyuuga compound that held other high ranking members of the clan.
Next to her stood an anbu. He had gravity defying silver hair and wore a dog mask. This was Kakashi Hatake. "I am tired of the clan and their cruel and twisted practices. I've been tied down long enough" she said defiantly.
Many eyes narrowed at her but the clan head spoke once again. "You ungrateful woman. You are to serve the main branch and nothing more.
To conceive a child with an outsider is an act that's unforgivable and you will be severely punished" Hiashi said. "You will watch how you speak about my father" warned Kakashi. "Your father is dead Hatake.
He had no business with someone of our clan and now there will be consequences for his actions " said a Hyuuga elder. His sharingan eye started spinning slowly but his arm was grabbed by Mikasa who gave him a pleading look.
"Go wait outside for me. I will handle this" she said. He was going to protest but she squeezed his arm and he conceded defeat. He slowly walked out of the room eyeing every single Hyuuga member present.
Once the door was closed she turned back to Hiashi. "I will accept my punishment as long as no harm will come to my child" she said. "Are you mad!? You have no power to make any demands woman!" yelled an elderly woman that was present.
Hiashi raised his hand to halt any further arguments. He turned to Mikasa and spoke. "The child is innocent but it still belong to the side branch of the Hyuuga clan.
It will be branded with the caged bird seal and will serve me directly." "I will not allow my child to be branded with that accursed seal even if it kills me" she spat.
"So you're willing to sacrifice your life for a halfbreed?"asked an elder. "That halfbreed you speak of is my child and you will do well you to remember that" she said. "Your attitude has soured quite a bit over time.
But if you're willing to go so far, even giving your life to not have the child unharmed then so be it. If the child is to live without the caged bird seal, he will be banished from the Hyuuga clan" he said and Mikasa nodded at that.
"And you will have to die" he finished. "Brother, don't you think this is a bit much?" asked a man that looked identical to him. "Hizashi, she disobeyed the law. Which is an inexcusable act in itself.
But to demand that the caged bird seal not be implanted on a branch member is even worse. If she wants the baby to live, she must die" he said.
Hizashi said nothing more, only looking at Mikasa with pity. "I will accept these terms if my baby gets to live freely" she said.
"Very well. After you give birth, I will activate the caged bird seal and you will meet your fate" he said emotionless. She slowly nodded as she bowed and excused herself from the room.
"Do you think it was wise to go through with such a plan?"asked Hizashi. "It was the only way brother. She broke the rules, so this is the punishment" replied Hiashi. "But she's our sister!
Our younger sister and you're going to kill her because of some stupid rule!?" Hizashi yelled angrily. "You will do well to mind your tone when speaking to me. I am still the clan leader and your seal still works" Hiashi warned. The man did not reply but sent a heated glare toward his twin.
Outside, Kakashi and Mikasa walked leisurely through the Hyuuga compound. It was a silent but comfortable walk. "So, what was the decision?" Kakashi asked.
"They will let my child live as long as it does not take up the Hyuuga name" she said. "And the seal?"he asked. She bit her lip and the masked man noticed. "What of the seal Mikasa?"he asked again.
He saw tears from at the corners of her eyes. He stopped walking as he grabbed her hand. "Mika-" "I will die once my baby is born"she said quietly. There was a moment of shock before Kakashi spoke again. "What?"he said barely above a whisper.
"In order for him to be free, they will activate my seal and it will kill me"she said. "That's bullshit!" Kakashi yelled in fury. "Don't you think I know that? I've been dealing with this since the day I was born.
The seal was on me for as long as I can remember. Sakumo wouldn't forgive me if I let it happen"she said. Tears freely flowing. "I can't lose you too. I don't know what I would do"he said.
She smiled as she took off his anbu mask and patted his cheek. "You will do what you've always done. You will continue to live. You will raise your little brother and you will make your father proud"she said. "But I don't know how to raise a kid. I'm an Anbu"he said.
"You still have Minato, Kushina and Gai. They will help you because they are your friends"she said. He slowly nodded and closed his eyes. "Now go home. It's getting late and I'm sure you have a mission to do soon"she said with a smile. She didn't even wait for him to reply as she walked back inside the compound.
Kakashi immediately flashed to the Hokage office. He flashed inside the office and kneeled in front of Minato. The man had golden blonde hair and azure blue eyes.
He was currently at his desk reading over a few documents. He sensed someone enter the office and saw Kakashi. "Kakashi you aren't on duty at the moment, you don't have to kneel" he said with a smile. The silver haired man stood up and took off his mask.
This caused Minato to raise an eyebrow but he remained silent. He motioned for Kakashi to speak. "The Hyuuga did not take the news well" he said.
Minato sighed. "I expected that. What she did was against their laws. What is her punishment?" Kakashi said nothing, only leaking a small amount of killer intent with the blonde man noticing immediately.
"Kakashi" he said. The man just hung his head low. "In order for the child to survive and not be branded with the curse seal, he'll be banished from the Hyuuga clan and won't take their last name.
But after Mikasa gives birth, she'll have to die" he said.
4 months later
Peaceful sleeping could be heard in the hospital room. Mikasa could be seen holding a baby who had silver hair and pale white eyes. Currently in the room with them was Kakashi, and Hizashi.
"He looks so much like Sakumo" said Hizashi with a smile. "Even in death, he got one up on me" said Mikasa with a chuckle.
"He will also be quite the lady killer when he grows up" said Kakashi. "My Naruto will find one woman to love and will not become a pervert like you or Jiraiya, you got that?" she said smiling sweetly at Kakashi.
Kakashi have an eye smile and held his hands up in surrender. "Yes ma'am" he said. "I know he won't be able to live in the Hyuuga compound or take up the name but I will still like to introduce myself to him and be apart of his life" Hizashi said nervously.
Mikasa smiled at her elder brother and grabbed his hand. "I was going to ask you to do that. You aren't like most of our clan and it would be nice to have you present in his life."
He nodded and looked at the clock.
"Hiashi will be here at any moment Mikasa" said a frowning Hizashi. She smiled sadly at him. "I know, he was never one to stall things" she said.
"There has to be another way" said Kakashi. She gazed at Kakashi with a motherly smile. "I wish there was. But this has always been the nature of the Hyuuga. And I don't regret my decision, so you will not pity me"she said.
"But you're the sister of the clan head, how can he treat his family like this?" he asked angrily. "He was born minutes before me and ever since had the knowledge of himself being the clan heir, he disregarded me and later Mikasa" said Hizashi.
"And what am I supposed to tell Naruto when he asks about why he isn't apart of the Hyuuga clan or why he has no parents?" he asked.
"I myself don't have the answers to that. I don't want you to lie to him but I fear what would happen if he found out the actual reason that me and Sakumo aren't present in his life" she said with a chuckle.
Kakashi ruffled his hands through his hair. "I will think of something" he finished. There was a knock at the door and in walked Hiashi Hyuuga.
Stern face and all. The 2 other men in the room did not move, they just eyed the man and waited for his next move.
"I see the birth was a success. I congratulate you on bringing life into this world, even if the circumstances weren't in you favor" he said.
3 sets of eyes narrowed at that but not one word came out.
"May I speak to you outside Hizashi?" It wasn't a question judging by the tone of his voice. The man nodded and followed the man outside of the room.
When they got outside, Hizashi spoke up. "What is it that you want to talk about?" "There has been a change of plans" he said.
Hizashi raised an eyebrow. "So you're not going through with this?" he asked. "Unfortunately not" he said. Hizashi's eyes widened.
"So she'll live? What changed?" He then noticed the look on his brother's face. "As I said, unfortunately I'm not going through with this...
you are" he said. Hizashi's jaw dropped as he stood in absolute shock. "W-what?" "You will have to kill her" he said.
Hizashi grabbed his brother by the collar. "What is the meaning of this?" Hizashi yelled furiously. "The elders decided that you will go through with this" he said.
"This is outrageous! I will not kill my sister because of your cowardice" he said. "Watch your tongue. I am still your superior" Hiashi warned.
His younger brother's glare did not falter but he released his grip. "I can't do it" he said softly.
"I'm not asking you, this is an order" Hiashi said. He walked away as he left his brother speechless.
Back in the room, Kakashi was holding Naruto as Mikasa was sleeping.
He was just gazing at his brothers sleeping form. He was innocent and oblivious to the chaos that surrounded him.
He thought about everything that transpired in the past 3 years. The 3rd Great Shinobi War kicked off and it was the bloodiest and most violent war in history.
Thousands upon thousands perished and among those lives were 2 of his comrades. His teammates Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara.
He touched the implanted sharingan that was gifted to him by his fallen teammate. He remembered that day all too well. His friend sacrificing himself to save him and Rin.
'Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are far worse than sum' he repeated in his said.
About a year later he went on a mission to rescue Rin who had been captured by the Hidden Mist. He subconsciously flinched as he thought about how the mission played out.
He recused her but she was adamant on not going back. The 3 tails was sealed inside of her and she didn't want to come back to the village because of the fear of the beast being released once she arrived.
But before they came to a conclusion, they were attacked by Mist shinobi and in the midst of aiming to kill one of the ninja with his chidori, she jumped in front
of the move. "K-Kakashi" was what her last words were as his hand was pierced through her heart. Nightmares on top of nightmares followed.
His father and Minato did their best over the following months to keep him mentally stable. Even encouraging him to join the anbu to focus his hatred into being a productive shinobi.
'That might've worked too good' he mused. He became anbu captain month's after that and made a name for himself as The Copy Ninja.
That was when his father introduced him to Mikasa. She was a retired kunoichi who had done nothing but shower him with unconditional love even when he didn't deserve it.
His mother died when he was young so he never truly felt what it was like to have a mother's love. But that was until she came.
He never saw his father so happy with anything in life.
And then, just a little over a year ago, his father went missing after a mission failed. There was a search party held and he himself found the body and the note that came attached with it.
Any normal 15 year old would've lost it and gave up on life. And he was so close to doing so but he had support in the form of his comrades and friends.
And now, he had a brother to protect and he promised to not let him go through the same pain he had to.
"You know if I didn't know any better, I'd mistake you for father and son" spoke the smiling Mikasa.
Kakashi smiled behind his mask. "I don't think I'll be having one of those anytime soon" he said. "Calling your brother a 'those' is not nice" she said with a lighthearted glare.
They both laughed. Hizashi then came back in the room and they noticed his downcast expression. "When is he going to call me?" she asked.
"He's not going to do it" Hizashi replied hesitantly. They looked at him confused and he sensed their questions. After a moment of silence he spoke once again. "I-I am" he said quietly.
Kakashi clutched Naruto tightly as his body trembled. Mikasa was more shocked than anything. "W-what?" she replied.
"Hiashi has ordered me to go through with the plans" he said with his jaw clenching afterwards. "But why?" asked Kakashi.
"He said it was a collective decision decided upon by the clan elders but I suspect it was due to his cowardice. He would rather not live with the knowledge of knowing that he killed his own sister for nothing"Hizashi spat bitterly.
That was Kakashi's breaking point. He could only tolerate the clan head for much longer. He handed Naruto to Mikasa and excused himself. There was a certain Hyuuga he needed to visit.
Hiashi was currently in his office, about the events that just transpired. His brother was ordered to kill his sister. The usual stoic face of the Hyuuga clan head was now one reflecting guilt.
He was not as heartless as people made it seem. Of course he didn't want to kill his sister, he did not want her blood on his hands. But the clan came first, you break the rules, you are scum and will be punished as such.
That's why he made Hizashi do it, he was to serve the main branch in any way and by this, he'd prove his worth. He would never forgive him for making him do it but he was not one to beg for such anyway.
Kakashi was another thing to watch out for. That man was emotionally unstable and an emotionally unstable shinobi is a dangerous one. He did not have such liberties as one of a clan head.
He refused to take the seat after his father passed and in result, failed to protect his brother from banishment. The Hokage had no power in this situation as it was clan affairs therefore his opinion did not matter.
He would do anything in his power to prevent that boy from becoming powerful. The byakugan could not fall into the hands of any other clan.
The boy would not learn their techniques, or how to properly use the eyes. He then heard a hard knock at the door and used his eyes to see who it was on the opposite side. "Kakashi you may enter" he said stoically.
The man walked in, anbu gear all on aside from his mask. The younger man's eyes were anything but kind. It was a tense silence before Hiashi spoke. "How may I help you Hatake?" Without missing a beat, he responded. "You're a coward."
The Hyuuga glared at the man. "Excuse me?" Kakashi did not falter. "I said you are a coward Hiashi." The man calmed his nerves and responded. "Why are you here?" "I heard about what you're making Hizashi do" he said while his voice portrayed his anger.
"And what of it? It's a clan matter as far as I'm concerned" he said. "You're making your brother murder your sister for Kami's sake! Have you no shame?" Kakashi replied finally losing his cool.
"She should have obeyed the rules, she's not a child. One of the perks of being a direct relative to the clan head is that you have access to most if not all clan information. Politics wise of course."
"I could care less about clan laws. He is my brother and Mikasa is going to die because of something foolish" he yelled back. "Well I advise you to tell your dear sensei Minato-Sama. I'm sure he'll tell you the exact same thing i just did" Hiashi said.
"You're lucky enough I'm even allowing the child to live. I could have him killed-" was all Hiashi managed to get out before he was roughly pushed against the wall and inches away from having a chidori going through his chest.
"I let you insult my father, my sensei and even let you get away with murdering the mother of my baby brother but I will not let you threaten his life.
I promise you that if you lay a finger on Naruto, you will die" he said in a whisper. The door was opened quickly as Hiashi's wife came in.
"Hiashi what is all that noi-" "Hitomi, tell this man to unhand me" Hiashi ordered. "Kakashi, you will not kill my husband. Go back to the hospital" she said. His sharingan still spinning wildly, he turned to the man one last time.
"Remember what I said" he finished and then he flashed away. Once he was gone. Turning back to his wife, he noticed she was gone. He sighed as he sunk into his chair.
In the Hokage office, Minato sat in the room with 2 other men. The man that sat across from his left was a rather tall man who had long spiky white hair. The man to his left was much shorter and much older. He had grey hair and was smoking a pipe.
"So brat, how's the hat treating you?" asked the white haired man. "Honestly it has been refreshing Sensei. I enjoy the peace that comes with not fighting everyday" Minato responded.
Both older men nodded in agreement. Having both fought in previous wars themselves. "I assume you have been enjoying the paperwork" said a smirking Hiruzen.
"Actually yes I have Lord 3rd but I've been meaning to ask you something. Why is it that you hate paperwork so much?"
"Because it's the bane of all kage!" he responded a little dramatically. "Didn't you use shadow clones to do your work?" Minato asked.
Jiraiya and Minato watched on in amusement as Hiruzen's pipe dropped out of his mouth as his eyes widened. He stood up and flashed himself out of the room.
Turning back to his sensei, he spoke. "Mikasa went into labor today." "Ah so Sakumo's boy has finally been born. What's his name?"
"It's Naruto" he replied. "After the character in my book?" Jiraiya asked. "That's what Kakashi told me" replied Minato with a smile.
"And when do you and a Kushina plan on having kids?" Minato blushed and Jiraiya giggled perversely. "Come on Minato, I couldn't corrupt you but I will still pass my perverted smarts down to someone else" he said.
"Jiraiya if you so much as think of anything perverted around my future child, I will castrate you and feed you your own balls" said a beautiful red haired woman entering the room.
"Ah Kushina, you know I was just kidding" replied a sweating Jiraiya. She ignored the man and turned to her boyfriend.
"I heard little Naruto was born today. When can we go see him?" asked a very giddy Kushina. "We can go tomorrow. I'm sure you know of the implications of his birth" said a sad Minato.
She too nodded solemnly. She really despised Hiashi. The man was pure evil in her eyes. "Fine but I expect a baby as well" she said.
Minato coughed on the water he was drinking and Jiraiya was scribbling something down in his notebook with a nosebleed.
Back at the hospital, Kakashi, Hizashi and Mikasa just sat in silence. They all know what had to happen but none of them were ready.
Hizashi looked like he was about to explode. He was conflicted with what he was ordered to do. Never in his life would he have ever thought to use the caged bird seal on someone.
The act was disgusting in his opinion and it didn't help that he had it as well. But to use it on his own sister, his direct blood. The woman who had just gave birth to his nephew.
In all honesty, he just wanted to go crawl into a hole and die. Kakashi had just relayed the story of what happened with Hiashi. That got a a chuckle out of Mikasa and a frown from Hizashi.
Naruto was in his mothers arms sleeping as the adults just waited for the inevitable. Having enough of the silence, she spoke. "I think it's time that we stopped stalling boys."
They both flinched at her words. "I've already accepted my fate. Let me just say my final goodbyes to my baby boy."
They have a nod as she looked down at Naruto. His peaceful sleeping form with his innocent look made her smile sadly. "Hello Naruto, I'm your mother Mikasa Hyuuga.
This will unfortunately be our first and last conversation with each other and I just want you to listen to me please. Son, I'm sorry that I won't be able to see you grow up to become the strong man I know you will be.
Our clan is bound by a seal that is cursed. I myself have one and so does your uncle Hizashi. We had to serve the main clan since birth and were essentially enslaved. But we never let that stop us from accomplishing what we wanted in life.
Your other uncle Hiashi is a big meanie, but even after all he did, I still love him because he's my brother. I got my wish to find love and it was in the form of your father. His name was Sakumo Hatake.
Your father was a strong shinobi but an even better person. He loved me, you and Kakashi unconditionally. He unfortunately died a few months ago. Now you won't be alone because you have Kakashi, your older brother.
You may have to keep him in line because he's a bit of a hothead but he means well. Make friends Naruto, don't let the circumstances from birth define who you are in life as a person.
I will visit your father and be with him once again soon but promise me you and Kakashi won't see us for a long while. Make sure to give me lots of grandkids since Kakashi won't.
Also, don't turn out to be like the rest of the clan young man. You have a gift in the form of your eyes but don't become arrogant and use the gift recklessly. I'm sorry I can't leave you with anything to remember me by, but I'm sure you won't forget me.
And Naruto Hatake, above all I love you" she finished with tears forming at the corner of her eyes. The men in the room weren't fairing much better. Kakashi was shaking while Hizashi was on the verge of tears himself. "Kakashi take Naruto and go home. You have been through enough and i don't want you to see this" she said.
Kakashi slowly nodded and walked up to Naruto and picked him up. He turned back to Mikasa with an eye smile. "Thank you for taking care of me and loving me as if I was one of your own.
I promise to protect him, train him in the shinobi arts and love him to my best capabilities. Goodbye Mikasa" he said as he left the room. She was freely crying by that point but she still smiled. Hizashi walked up to his sister and grabbed her hand.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" he asked. "I've been ready since the day I found out I was pregnant. I know it's selfish to leave my child without parent's but I don't want him to go through what we had to.
I will finally have my freedom Hizashi and I'd much rather it be granted to me by you, than Hiashi."
He squeezed her hand and shut his eyes. He knew everything she said was true. She has wanted to be free for a long long time and now she finally got her wish.
His shaky hand formed the hand sign to activate the seal on her forehead and it glowed as she grit her teeth and shut her eyes from the pain.
Her form was trembling but she did not utter a sound. He couldn't open his own eyes because he refused to see what was happening in front of him.
The silent struggle was over within 30 seconds as her body stopped moving. He released the hand seal and opened his eyes and his heart shattered.
Her eyes were closed but she still had a smile on her face. He activated his eyes to see if she was really gone and he found no signs of her being so.
He dropped to his knees and cried. 'This wasn't supposed to happen. She was not supposed to die like this!' he thought.
Kakashi heard anything as he was on the other side of the hospital door. He himself trembled but held his brother firmly. The cries of Hizashi was something he would never forget.
He decided to flash away to leave the man alone for now.
17 Years Later
"Ghost" called an elderly voice. Then appeared a man about 6ft with slick black silver hair and pale white eyes. He had the traditional anbu gear on and wore a white mask with the left side of it covered in grey lettering.
Strapped to his back was a sword that was nothing short of legendary. It had a long silver blade and a black handle. It was a chakra sword that once belonged to Sakumo Hatake, The White Fang of Konoha.
The man nicknamed ghost was apart of the Hokages personal guard. He along with Neko, Crow, and Tiger the team captain were infamous in the shinobi world.
They were one of the strongest teams of anbu in Konoha's history aside from the previous Team-Ro lead by Kakashi Hatake.
Ghost himself was also apart of that team. In fact the only difference within this current team and the previous Team-Ro was Kakashi's departure which displeased Ghost greatly.
In front of him, sat an elderly man. But don't let the appearance fool you. The man was said to be the God of Shinobi in his prime and had not lost all of his strength since then.
"Yes Hokage-Sama" he replied. Hiruzen took back the hat shortly after Minato's death. He vividly remembered that tragic night. Even at the tender age of 4, he remembered the screams of terror and despair from civilians and shinobi alike.
Hundreds of people lost their life that night including the 4th Hokage and his girlfriend Kushina Uzumaki. Nobody knew how the Kyubi escaped the seal or appeared in the village but the effects of the beasts rampage was still felt today.
"As you know, the chunin exams are coming up and they happen to be in Konoha this year" Hiruzen said. Ghost tilted his head in confusion but spoke.
"I know of this Lord Hokage but you're telling me this because?" he asked. "Suna is sending their Jinchuriki to participate in the exams. He is unstable and that in itself justifies my concern" he replied.
Ghost nodded. Having known this information as well. "So I'm assuming I have to keep an eye on the jinchuriki while also investigating with my team as to why they would do such a thing?" he asked.
The old man nodded with a smile. "As sharp as always Naruto" he said. "But why is it that you only summoned me and not the rest of Team Ro?"
Hiruzen sighed. "You know why. You and Tiger aren't really fond of each other especially after he was given the captain title by your brother" he said.
He remembered the day he ordered Kakashi to leave Anbu and had him pick up a genin team. He was to choose a successor to lead his former team and Naruto thought it would be him but he chose Tiger instead which greatly disappointed the teen.
Even if they did not like each other, they worked like a well oiled machine. "Ah Captain Tiger" he said with hidden anger. "I trust that you will inform them of this upcoming assignment?" Hiruzen asked.
Naruto reluctantly nodded as he put back on his mask and stood at attention. "Is there anything else you need Lord Hokage?" Ghost asked. "No Naruto, you are dismissed" he said. Naruto saluted and vanished.
He reappeared at Anbu-HQ and walked to the lounging area. He saw Neko sitting down with her mask off, luscious purple hair and brown eyes on display and walked up to her. "Yugao, we've been given an upcoming mission by the Hokage and we need to find Itachi and Tenzo to discuss it."
"Fine. What kind of mission is it? Espionage? Or assassination?" she asked. Naruto sweat dropped. "You know you are really violent and have an unsaid thirst for blood" he added.
She stood up and patted him on the head. "We are Anbu Naru-Chan. The strongest group Konoha has to offer. It's only natural I enjoy the risks" she said.
Naruto just ignored her as he went to fetch their other 2 teammates.
They found Tenzo in his office as he was going over paperwork. The man had short brown hair with almond shaped eyes. "Captain, Hokage-Sama gave us an upcoming mission and we need to discuss it" said Yugao.
He looked up from the paper and spoke. "How come I wasn't informed first?" he asked. "Because 'Captain' Naruto said with emphasis, he summoned me first to debrief you all on it.
"I am the captain of this team not you Naruto. If anything the Hokage should inform me of important matters such as this, not my subordinates" he said.
Naruto narrowed his eyes at the man and Yugao took it upon herself to intervene. "Guys calm down, you both act like children. Naruto go find Itachi and I'll wait here with Captain" she said.
He huffed and flashed away but not without taking another glance at Tenzo.
After leaving, she turned to her captain and spoke. "You two got along just well when Captain Kakashi was still here."
"Well that's the problem, he's not here anymore so Naruto can't do whatever he wants. He expected to be given the title due to his power but power isn't everything. He is not responsible enough to lead a team such as this one "he said.
She rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Come on, we have to get ready for the meeting."
Naruto found Itachi training with his brother in their backyard. Itachi had long black hair tied into a ponytail and the signature black eyes of the Uchiha clan.
His brother, Sasuke had the same eyes as him but had what Naruto liked to call, a duck but hairstyle, which greatly annoyed the younger Uchiha.
He flashed behind Sasuke as the Uchiha was going through hand seals.
Itachi didn't sense him appear in the clearing but his ever trained eyes followed the flash. He smirked as Sasuke jumped in surprise.
He turned around to glare at his brothers friend. "What the hell you idiot! I told you to stop flashing behind me" he said. Naruto laughed at the 13 year old.
"Now, now Sasuke, I thought i explained to you that I don't do well with instructions."
Sasuke just huffed. "And tell your lazy brother to stop being late to team meetings" he said. Naruto grinned sheepishly. "I'm afraid that he won't even listen to me."
"Whatever" was all Sasuke said. Turning to the older Uchiha, he spoke. "We have an upcoming mission Itachi, we are to discuss this with the rest of our team back at HQ."
Itachi nodded and went inside to get ready. Naruto turned back to Sasuke with a grin. "So, do you plan on winning the chunin exams? I'd hate to see the famed Uchiha clan be put to shame" he said.
" Of course I'll win. I'm the strongest genin in Konoha and the Uchiha clan will once again prove why we are the best" he said confidently.
"Let's make a bet. If you win, I'll teach you the purple lighting" he said. The boys eyes opened comically at the thought of learning such a powerful jutsu.
"Deal" he said as they shook hands. "You know it's quite embarrassing how you make bets with children for powerful jutsu" Itachi said reappearing decked out in his Anbu gear.
"I just can't help myself. Like you remember the time me and Izumi-" was all he said as Itachi grabbed him and flashed away.
Sasuke just shook his head at their antics and left to go meet up with his team.
In the Hyuuga compound a boy could be seen striking a training post with effortless precision. He had long brown hair and pale white eyes.
Observing him from the porch was none other than Hiashi. The boy was the son of his late brother Hizashi but he was a prodigy among prodigies. He had the most promise out of anyone in the clan and potentially any genin in the village.
He walked up to the boy as the boy stopped training. "Neji, the exams are coming up and I assume your sensei requested you to join along with your team?" he asked.
The boy now known as Neji nodded in confirmation. "He has. He'd given us the forms to sign" he said.
Hiashi nodded. "I expect nothing less of success. Make the clan proud" he said as he walked away.
Neji didn't bother to respond as he glared angrily at the back of his uncle. He then returned to striking the post, albeit with more viscousness this time.
