A few weeks have gone by and the two desk mates have barely communicated with words. Instead, it has all been head movements and implied actions. The day after the notebook incident, the teal haired boy arrived early to replace the notebook to its rightful spot on the desk, as if it had never moved. As he went to sit, shock flashed in his eyes due to the fact he wasn't the first one in the classroom and instead his desk mate had beat him. No questions asked or answered, Kuroko placed the book in front of the red haired boy with a small nod of his head and a quiet thanks under his breath. Without a verbal response and a slight nod of his head, he silently opens the book to do his own work. They sit there in silence, while the red haired boy works, Kuroko notices his name tag for the first time as it displays "Seijuro Akashi" in bold letters. Nodding to himself, he tucks this new piece of information into a small section of his brain for future use.

By the second week of school, only shared silent gestures and nods have been exchanged between them. Out of the blue, Akashi Seijuro opens his mouth, turns to Kuroko and says, "Here, you'll need this. ", passing Kuroko a pen. Confused with the random gesture and surprised by the words directed at him, Kuroko takes the pen with a silent nod and a slightly raised eyebrow. Placing it on his desk and blanking his expression, he goes back to his work, mulling over the fact that someone had noticed him on their own accord. The thought brought a warmth to his cheeks however Kuroko assumed it was because of the warm weather they had been having.

No sooner than turning the page did the teal haired boy encounter an issue that, miraculously, got solved before it even occurred. His pen dried out and stopped working and no matter how much scribbling or moistening of the pen tip he did, it just wouldn't work. Perplexed as to how his desk partner knew this was going to happen, he turned to ask but was met with a subtle shake of the red haired boy's head so he waited until the end of class.

The hour goes by dreadfully slowly and finally the bell rings deafeningly through the halls, announcing time for break. By the time Kuroko turned in his chair to ask Akashi Seijuro about the pen, his desk-mate was nowhere to be found. That was the first time they'd spoken and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

The end of the day draws Kuroko towards the library to complete the homework that had been assigned and finds his desk-partner with a purple-haired giant. Looking up from his book, as if sensing Kuroko was there, Akashi motions for Kuroko to join them. Looking at the new person's height made him second guess whether he had made the right choice to sit with the pair once he had set up his books and pens.

Scribbling in notes from throughout the day, Kuroko looks up to catch mysterious heterochromatic eyes gazing at him . Putting his own pen down he says, "Thanks for the pen but how..." with a flourish of his hand, Akashi Seijuro stops him before he can finish his question

"It is my pleasure. And I noticed your pen ink was low so I assumed it would stop working soon enough"

"You must have a keen eye"

"Indeed"

The tension between the two was high as it managed to get Atsushi Murasakibara to get up and go for a walk.

"I'm Kuroko, Kuroko Tetsuya by the way". It had just occurred to him that he had never introduced himself even though he knew the other person's name.

"I know" came the simple reply. That was the end of that conversation as both turned and buried their noses in their respective books.
