When the group pulled up behind Dom, who had already gotten out of his car and was speaking with the local racers, and bunnies, only Elena, Letty, Mia, Vince, and Jesse got out of their cars while Leon hanged back to be on cop monitor duty.
Elena, who had slammed her car door shut, along with Letty, to get Dom's attention, easily moved around Vince and Letty, who looked annoyed on her behalf, when the older Werewolf didn't even glance back at them, to stand in front of the two bunnies and Dom, who was standing between them.
"If he wasn't in trouble before for getting Lena's Brother fired, he sure is now."Letty hissed to Vince as a silent reminder when she noticed that he had caught sight of Brian and looked ready to blow a fuse, but paused at the reminder and nodded in agreement.
The short haired brunette let out an angry and sarcastic meow, gaining the trio's attention."I smell"Elena made a show of sniffing the air before giving the two bunnies a dirty look."skanks."She bit out."Why don't you girls pack it up before I leave tread marks on your face?"Elena posed it as question, but everyone around them knew that she'd actually go through with her threat, and she raised an eyebrow at them, wondering if they'd try to fight back.
However, it was obvious that they wouldn't."Ok."One of the girls said meekly and they darted off, away from Dom.
Dom frowned at Elena when she turned her full attention to him."Elena, I was just talking."He defended himself.
Elena scoffed."Yeah, whatever."Elena spat and started to walk past Dom, only to pause when he caught her by the elbow.
"You still pouting?"Dom asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Oh boy."Mia mumbled under her breath and Letty shook her head while Vince looked on warily.
"Pouting?"Elena echoed, eyes narrowed as she looked up at Dom."I don't pout. And I'm fucking pissed off, asshole."She added in a snarky voice, ripping herself free of Dom's grip, and stalked off to the sidelines with Letty and Mia following, shaking their heads at Dom in disbelief or anger.
Shaking off Elena's bad mood, Dom got everyone's attention when he started getting the other racers to join him in a circle. While they talked, Elena and Letty stood behind him and Vince sat on the hood of his car.
People gave their money in before Brian came out of nowhere and handed in a pink slip, saying that he had no cash. Brian of course, went on about respect causing everyone, except Elena, who tilted her head to the side slightly, to laugh.
"Jesus."Elena choked out, eyes wide at what Jesse was telling everyone about what was under Brian's hood and Edwin said that he's got enough NOS to blow himself up, making her wonder just what was wrong with her Brother.
"So what'll you say? Am I worthy?"Brian asked cockily.
"We don't know yet."Dom said, beginning to reveal his trademark shark smirk.
"I think he is."Everyone's head snapped to Elena when she spoke up and she walked over to them, smirking."I mean, if he's really got enough NOS to blow himself up? He must really wanna prove himself to someone."Elena looked up at Dom, raising an eyebrow at him."Remind you of anyone? Because he sure reminds me of someone."She glanced back at Brian with a grin while Dom wondered what he was missing out on when he saw the same grin form on Brian's face.
"Yeah."Dom finally agreed, easily reminded of what happened a few years ago before he and Elena officially got together."You're in."He added, pointing at Brian."Let's go."He said to everyone else.
Soon, everyone started getting in their cars and followed the Dom and the cars that were in the lead to where the start line was going to be. Once there, Elena and the crew stood on the sidelines, by their cars, and watched as Brian accidentally went over the starting line causing people to laugh.
"Is he really the same boy who taught you how to hot wire cars?"Vince couldn't help but ask and Elena glared at him sharply before stalking over to Brian's car after he went back behind the line.
"Bri,"Elena said, leaning her elbow on top of Brian's car and bent her legs slightly so that she was at eye level with Brian."do me a favor?"Ocean blue eyes stared into chocolate brown, with hints of green, eyes."Drop the amateur act and beat Dom to that finish line for me? He needs to be knocked off his high horses."Elena stated.
"You sure you should be talking to me? Dominic doesn't seem to like it."Brian stated casually, although there was a hint of mischief in his eyes, and Elena rolled her eyes after they both glanced at Dom, who was frowning at them.
"Right now, I don't give two fucks about what Dom does or doesn't like."Was all that the brunette said before she walked back over to the others and leaned back against her car to watch the race after it was cleared by Leon.
Everyone, except Elena, was surprised when they saw Brian beat Edwin and RJ out of the race and pulled ahead of Dom, causing Elena and Mia to inwardly cheer him on. However, Elena's hope that Brian would be able to knock Dom down a peg slipped through her fingers when Dom shot over the finish line.
As everyone booed at Brian when he came over to the crowd, Mia turned to Elena."Ellie...?"The older brunette glanced at her."Can we go?"
"Yeah-Oh shit!"Elena exclaimed, eyes wide at hearing the sudden sound of cop sirens filling the air."Let's go!"She snapped at the others, catching their attention and they looked at her in confusion before they heard the sirens as well, and they all scrambled for their cars.
"You're the last person in the world I expected to show up."Dom said to Brian once they were in the clear, after checking to make sure that the cops still weren't tailing them.
Brian glanced at him then back at the road."Yeah, well, I thought if I had gotten in your good graces, you might let me keep my car."
Dom nodded slightly."You are in my good graces, but you ain't keep your car..."He trailed off as he looked at Brian with a small smirk."Even if you are Elena's Brother."He added.
Brian's eyes widened."She told you?"He asked sharply and warily.
"Nah, she ran after you, after she told Vince off."Brian raised an eyebrow at him."Mia told me."He added before looking away."You drive like you've done this before."Dom stated, almost knowingly."What are you? A wheel man?"He half joked, half asked seriously.
"No."
"You boost cars?"
"No, never."
"Have you done time?"
"A couple of overnighters. No big deal."
Dom merely nodded, as if he actually believed Brian."What about the two years in juvie for boosting cars?"Slightly amused dark brown eyes met calm ocean blue eyes."Tucson, right?"Brian looked away from Dom."Even though you're Elena's Brother, I still had Jesse run a profile on you, Brian Earl Spilner. He'll find anything on the Web. Anything about anybody."Dom's eyes narrowed as Brian shook his head."So, why bullshit?"
"Why do you think?"Brian retorted, raising an eyebrow at Dom."Don't tell Ellie. She'd kill me if she found I went to juvie even though I promised her I would stop."Brian said and Dom winced, knowing fully well how Elena would react."So, what about you?"
"Two years in Lompoc."Dom stated and Brian barely stopped himself from flinching."I'll die before I go back."He added, sounding dead serious and Brian understood where he was coming from. The sudden sound of multiple motorcycles behind them caught Dom's attention and he glanced over his shoulder before groaning in annoyance."Oh, great."
"What?"Brian asked worriedly as the motorcyclists surrounded them.
"It's going to be a long-ass night. That's what."Dom growled out before one of the motorcyclists on Brian's side got closer to the window and tapped the door with a gun.
"Follow us."The motorcyclist said, although it wasn't like they had much of a choice so they followed them.
As soon as Elena and Mia entered the Toretto Household, they went straight up to Mia's room, knowing that lots of people would be coming in soon to party like always after the race scene was either finished or the cops ruined their fun.
While Mia sat on her bed and pulled out her notes from school to begin studying, Elena found herself pacing around the room, worrying about Dom not getting caught by the cops and if he did, she'd be waiting for the phone call that would have her going down to the station to bail him out.
A few minutes later, Elena heard the music start up downstairs and knew that the others were back, and she darted out of Mia's room and down stairs to look for Dom, only she couldn't find him and turned her attention to the others.
Letty, lying on the floor, on her stomach, was playing video games, Vince was tuning his guitar, Leon was sitting in a chair with a girl on his lap, chatting about who knows what, and Jesse was making out with a girl in a corner.
"Where's Dom?"Elena asked Letty, but didn't get an answer."Letty."She said in a sharper voice, getting Letty's attention."Where's Dom?"She echoed her question, raising an eyebrow.
"Dunno."Letty answered before turning back to her game and Elena's eyes flashed yellow as she growled lowly under her breath.
"He's not back yet."Leon spoke up, causing Elena to look at him."Don't worry, Lena. He knows how to evade the cops."He added dismissively.
Sighing in annoyance at the clear lack of worry for the Alpha Wolf of their makeshift of a Family, Elena crossed her arms and started to head back upstairs when she heard Brian's voice over the music with her enhanced hearing say;"Take care.", followed by Dom asking;"Yo Spilner! You wanna beer?", and a;"Yeah, sure."came from Brian before Dom came in.
Elena was lucky that she was out of Dom's way, because when he looked from one Team Member to another, he looked pissed, before he swiftly moved around people, heading straight for Leon. He would never go after Letty or Elena, but he could still act coldly to them, well, he'd be cold towards Letty, but never Elena.
"Yo, Dom. We were just about to go looking for you, Brother."Elena winced when Dom flipped Leon's Corona Bottle out of his hand, giving Leon a sharp look, before storming towards Vince as Letty paused the game and stood up.
"Where were you?"Dom demanded.
"There were mass cops there."Vince made a few small gestures with his hands to get his point across."They came in from every direction. It was orchestrated."The younger Werewolf exclaimed.
Dom stared at him for a moment before noticing the beer."This your beer?"
"Yeah, that's my beer."Vince answered the pissed off Werewolf, who didn't say anything else other than taking the beverage and walked away from Vince.
"Yo, Einstein."Dom said, pausing a few feet away from Jesse, causing the youngest man of their group to pause in his make-out session with the bunny he was with."Take it upstairs. You can't detail a car with the cover on."Dom turned and walked back to where Elena and Letty, who had came to stand next to Elena, were."Can't even get that right."He grumbled.
"You all right?"Letty asked wearily and Dom paused by her.
"Am I all right?"Dom asked sarcastically in a gruff voice as Brian came in.
"It was just a question."Letty mumbled, glaring slightly at Dom and turned to Elena."You deal with him."Letty whispered, knowing that Elena was the only one who could make Dom calm down.
Before Elena could do anything though, Vince spoke up;"Yo, Dom."Vince called out to Dom, who had grabbed another Corona, having noticed Brian walk in."Why did you bring the buster here?"Elena openly glowered at Vince, wondering what the hell his problem with her Brother was.
