Team Making for the Riding of Survival

"(It doesn't matter how many points my teammates have since I've got so many. I just need to pick the right people. Okay, I know who I want.)" Izuku thought hoped those people would agree to become his teammates.

"Who do you think Izuku is going to team up with?" Shouta asked.

"Well, I know that he won't ask Katsuki to join since he would want to destroy him rather than team up with him. Maybe he could ask that Eijiro boy or his other friends like that Tsuyu girl." Inko guessed.

"Whoever wishes to join Izuku won't matter because that boy is going to once against dazzle everyone with the might of the dragons!" Tohru grinned.

"I don't know about that, something unexpected could happen. Just saying." Kobayashi shrugged.

"Well, I better hurry up and get more food before the next game starts." Elma left the booth to get some more food from the food stances.

"I'll go make sure she doesn't go overboard." Lucoa decided to follow her.

"At least I'll finally get some peace and quiet from that bitch." Tohru mumbled.

(Breakroom, Staff Only)

Death Arms, Kamui Wood, and Mt. Lady are inside the break room to get some time off from the patrolling duty around the stadium and watching the TV to see the festival going to have the next game soon.

"The sports festival isn't really about seeing how prepared they are at being heroes. It's more about simulating the competition they'll face if they go pro." Death Arms stated before taking a smoke.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Mt. Lady was confused about what he said.

"We both know this country's overrun with agencies right now. If you wanna put food on the table, you gotta be willing to step on top of the other heroes. That was the whole point of the first round." Death Arms explained.

"That's such a sad way of looking at our jobs." Mt. Lady commented while covering her mouth and nose from the awful smell of the smoke.

"Seriously? You never had a problem stealing the spotlight." Kamui Wood recalled the time when Mt. Lady made her debut by stealing the villain he was gonna stop.

"But on the other hand—even if you're battling each other for popularity, there are plenty a' cases where you have to work together." Death Arms pointed out.

"Huh. You're right. It's just like this cavalry battle! Every point you score isn't just for you, but for your teammates as well. Plus, you have to think about how Quirks work together and who you're compatible with." Mt. Lady realized that now.

"It's kind of like coordinating with your sidekick or doing Quirk training with other agencies." Kamui Wood said before realizing he can't drink his water bottle with his mask still on.

"I'm sure at least some of the kids are thinking about all this. If they become pros, it'll be their way of life." Death Arms stated.

"They've still got a long road ahead of 'em." Mt. Lady said.

"You know, I wouldn't mind having that first-place boy as my sidekick should decide to after graduating." Kamui Wood said.

"The first-place kid?" Mt. Lady asked.

"Yeah, he's the kid who fought that sludge villain a year ago. The one who charged in like crazy to rescue his friend." Death Arms mentioned.

"The sludge villain? You mean the kid who almost got killed? That was him?!" Mt. Lady was shocked that the dragon kid she saw once on TV was the same kid from back then.

"The same." Kamui Wood nodded.

"Oh shit, I think I've just fallen for the kid!" Mt. Lady said.

(Back in the Stadium)

The students are now going with each other and talking things out about becoming teammates, some are a little easy picking while the others are a little hard because of how strong they are. Such as the case with Katsuki being surrounded by some of his classmates.

"You should team up with me!" Rikido said.

"No, you definitely want me by your side." Mina pointed at herself.

"I don't wanna beg, but please." Yuga exclaimed in pain from his stomach still hurting.

Katsuki said nothing for a second as he saw them a little good to be on his time, he just needs to clear something up first.

"Wait, remind me what your Quirks are again. And your names." Katsuki said causing his own classmates to be shocked.

"You're kidding? We're your classmates!" Mina was shocked that Katsuki didn't bother to even know their names.

"Can you really be that self-centered?" Rikido asked angrily.

"(Oh man, I knew I should've gone to Izuku.)" Mina thought regretted not going to Izuku first.

Toshinori saw how some of the students surrounded Katsuki to try getting him to one and the other.

"Bakugo!" Eijiro called out getting the explosion young man's attention.

"I was gonna try Todoroki, but he already picked a group. So, hey, we should team up!" Eijiro offered to lend Katsuki his aid.

"Hey, Dumb Hair." Katsuki greeted deadpan.

"My name is Eijiro Kirishima! And my hair's not that different from yours!" Eijiro corrected for his name and pointed out about their hair style.

"Come on, you wanna be the rider, right? So, you're gonna need a strong front horse who won't be hurt by your blasts. That'd be me." Eijiro stated as he hardens his arm.

"Hmm, I need someone with guts." Katsuki said.

"My Quirk was made for this! I got you covered, man! Let's go charging into battle together. Ten million, bring it!" Eijiro smirked of excitement and a fierce look.

Katsuki grins widely upon seeing how front this guy is being and showing some serious guts, now this is someone he can respect.

"Shoji! Shoji!" Minoru called out to Mezo who turn to see him crying.

"None of the girls wanna team up with me! Please, be my partner!" Minoru begged, this just makes Mezo want to walk away.

"I'm super tiny, so I can't be a horse, but for some reason no one wants me to climb on top of them so I can be a rider! With your huge body and those tentacles, you could cover me completely, so no one'll take my headband! Right, please!" Minoru begged some more.

Hearing that his body could be the perfect shield for the rider, this could also show some of the heroes what he can do with his Quirk. So, he moves one tentacle with a mouth in front of Minoru.

"Good idea, let's go." Mezo smirked.

Izuku looks around to see how the teams are being formed and who's teaming up with whom.

"(Just like I expected. Everyone's sticking to the people in their homeroom class. It's too much of a gamble to partner with someone if you don't know what their Quirk can do. I need to find a team of my own and fast.)" Izuku thought knew he has to form a team, but there is just one problem.

"(But everyone is avoiding me since I'm worth so much!)" Izuku thought felt isolated.

"Look at them being scared and helpless before Izuku, that's how dragons should be fear to these puny humans." Tohru chuckled.

"Aren't you supposed to be one of the heroes?" Elma reminded her rival of that.

"And wouldn't that also beat the point that Izuku needs to have people to form a team?" Lucoa mentioned that as well.

"Oh dear, I really hope Izuku finds someone." Inko worried.

"Oh, hey. What's up, Ojiro?" Izuku tried to talk with Mashirao.

"Sorry." But Mashirao walked away.

"(It makes sense. No one's worried about keeping their own headbands the whole game. It's a better strategy to steal as many points as you can at the end.)" Izuku thought knew of this.

"(And even though there were only a few of them who wanted to team up with me, they didn't have the right stuff besides their Quirks for me to work with. So, I need to find some people and fast!)" Izuku thought need to hurry.

"Izuku." Tsuyu walked up to him. "Do you mind if we team up? Rabbit."

The moment Tsuyu said those words, Izuku suddenly burst into giant waterfall tears that almost got on her.

"No way, Tsu! I was going to ask if I could team up with Deku too!" Ochaco smiled.

Once again, his tears came out even more wetting the gravity girl on the face a little bit.

"Uraraka! Tsu! Are you sure? Everyone'll be after me and my ten million stupid points! Tell me neither of you are kidding!" Izuku exclaimed, hoping this is not a joke.

"Nope, I'm serious about teaming up with you." Tsuyu answered.

"Me too. If we run away the whole time, then we'll win, right?" Ochaco asked.

"Um, you're either overestimating me or underestimating everyone else here." Izuku said, not sure which one it is.

"Phooey!" Ochaco smiled.

"Anyway, it's better to team up with people you like!" Ochaco stated with her cute smile.

Hearing that from Ochaco suddenly made his heart squeeze which also causes his face to squeeze.

"Is something wrong? You look so gross." Ochaco asked.

"You look like you need to go to the bathroom." Tsuyu said bluntly.

"No, I just thought my chest was gonna explode for a second." Izuku tried to quickly calm his heart down.

"That sounded like a love confession before dying in battle." Tsuyu commented, causing Ochaco's face to blush up in shock.

"No, no, no, no, no, it wasn't anything like that! It just because we're friends and nothing more!" Ochaco proclaimed, but her heart won't shut up.

"A-Anyway, how do we know that you're not here just because you're grown a liking to Deku?" Ochaco pointed at Tsuyu, trying to embarrass her.

"…I shall neither confirm nor deny." Tsuyu said, turning her head away to hide her blushing cheeks.

"(Damn it, heart! Please calm down!)" Izuku thought exclaimed.

"Actually, I wanted to team up with Uraraka too. Thanks a lot." Izuku thanked her.

"You're right. For a game that requires so much teammate, it's smart to find people you can communicate smoothly with." Izuku said as both girls nodded.

"In fact, if we had both your Quirk and one other person… You know what—I think I might have a solid plan." Izuku said as he looks over to find one more person for this team.

Tsuyu and Ochaco look over to see who Izuku is looking at, and it's the back view of Tenya Iida as they go over to him hoping he'll join their team.

"Iida." Izuku said, getting his attention.

"The three of us would be horses with Iida in the front. Using the combination of my wings, Uraraka and Tsuyu's Quirk, we would be able to make ourselves lighter and move around in the air, so we'd be able to maneuver around really easily. No one could catch us." Izuku explained his plan.

"Good idea." Ochaco agreed with this.

"And with Iida's speed, it would make things harder for the other teams to even see us coming." Tsuyu added.

"I know it may not be much, but it's the only evasive plan I could think of this fast." Izuku said to Tenya.

"A good strategy, but I'm sorry. I'm afraid I must refuse your offer." Tenya turned down Izuku, causing him and the girls to be shocked.

"You're already on another team, are you?" Tsuyu asked.

"Since this all started, I've been losing to you. Please don't take this as an insult. You're a great friend, but if I continue to follow you, I'll never get stronger." Tenya believed as he looks at Izuku with a serious look.

"Bakugo and Todoroki have challenged you already, but they aren't the only ones who see you as a rival." Tenya shared his thoughts on seeing Izuku as his own rival too.

"Midoriya, I'll try my best to defeat you." Tenya turned away and walked over showing that he's on a team with Shoto along with Denki and Momo.

"Whoa, Iida…" Ochaco was surprised by this.

"That went south." Tsuyu commented.

"(So, it's already begun. Everyone's an enemy. I'm at the top, and they'll all be coming for me. I can't rely on anyone. Not this time.)" Izuku thought looked determined more than ever.

"Looks like we're gonna have to find someone else fill in for Iida to complete our team." Tsuyu said.

"Oh, perfect, you're still looking for one more. And you're the star."

Hearing that causes the three to turn around to suddenly see Mei right in front of them.

"Team up with me, person in first place!" Mei said, right in front and very close to Izuku's face.

"So close! Who are you?" Izuku asked gasping.

"I'm a student in the Support Course. Name's Mei Hatsume!" Mei introduced herself.

"Oh! You're that weirdo from the obstacle course." Ochaco recognized that girl from the last game where she showed off her gadgets at the Fall.

"We haven't met, but I'd like to use your current fame to my personal advantage." Mei revealed why she wants to team up with Izuku.

"(That's straightforward!)" Izuku thought surprised to see this girl being honest with her reason.

"That's pretty straightforward of you." Tsuyu commented.

"If I team up with you, then I'll be in the spotlight! Part of the team that everyone is keeping their eyes on. That means my super-cute little babies will inevitably be seen by the big company CEOs who's tuning into the Sports Festival. And following that line of reasoning, this is the best way for me and my marvelous gadgets to get recruited." Mei explained more as she moves in closer to Izuku.

"Could you slow down a minute?" Ochaco asked, having a hard time to keep up with what Mei is saying right now.

"When you say "babies" do you mean the equipment you're wearing right now?" Tsuyu asked.

"Plus, you three would definitely benefit…" Mei is more focused on Izuku than the two girls.

"(Oh, she doesn't care about us.)" Tsuyu and Ochaco thought realized this now.

"The Support Course specializes in creating equipment that helps heroes deal with their Quirks and enhance their skills." Mei opened a chest that she brought along, showing him the support gears inside as they are shiny and new.

"I packed a ton of powerful babies to bring with me, so I'm sure you'll find something you like floating around my arsenal!" Mei bragged, showing off her big love for gadgets which is shocking to Izuku.

"Oh, I see one's caught your eye. I based this on a certain hero's backpack. Though, of course, I added my own twist." Mei showed a jetpack that she seems to suit Izuku's fancy.

"Wait, I recognize that! Air Jet, the Buster Hero has one of those." Izuku remembered a Pro Hero who uses a jetpack just like the one Mei has.

"I loved that guy!" Izuku smiled.

"Isn't he awesome?" Mei laughed, thrilled to see that this guy here has some interest in support gears too.

"Ribbit. Those two get along well." Tsuyu commented, seeing how Izuku and Mei have suddenly become friends.

"Yeah, they are." Ochaco said. Almost feeling a little something in her about this scene.

"(Okay, so I got Hatsume, Tsu, and Uraraka making our team complete and maybe most would think we're a little out of order. That might be our advantage, we're to win this and make it to the next game!)" Izuku thought determined to get through this.

Meanwhile, there is a little talk going on within Class 1-B.

"Almost everyone in the audience is foaming at the mouth for Class 1-A. Why is that? At first, I thought they were full of themselves until Tetsutetsu told us all about what Midoriya said about their experience with the villains. Meaning they're not overconfidence or any of that, guess we can give them a break for that." One boy of Class 1-B decided not to hold anything against Class 1-A.

"Surprise you're calm about this, Monoma." The orange-haired girl from Class 1-B said.

"Maybe I am, but that doesn't mean that we of Class 1-B aren't second rate or can't show everyone that we're just as good as Class 1-A. That means we're going to step it up and show everyone that we're heroes in the making too. Are you with me?" Neito Monoma asked.

Neito is a young man of average height with slick blond hair, which gets shorter the further down his head, styled so that it's parted to the right, his bangs left hanging over his right eye. His irises are a periwinkle blue, his pupils white, and his eyes are shaped so that they're slanting downwards towards the far sides of his face. He wears the UA gym uniform.

"Let's go out there and make our class proud!" Neito grinned.
