"How fast can this car go?"Caroline, who was sitting in the backseat with Bonnie and Katie, asked Elena, looking excited as Elena drove them to the Falls."Do you have one of those cool buttons that makes you go really fast?"Katie paled while Bonnie looked slightly when Elena smirked at them in the rearview mirror.
"You really wanna know?"She asked, and took one hand off the wheel to reach down for said button.
"Oh my god, no, please, Elena, don't."Bonnie begged, looking at Elena pleadingly, causing Caroline to pout at her when she saw Elena put her hand back on the wheel.
"Aww, come on Bonnie, why not?"Caroline whined.
"I don't think Elena would want me vomiting in her car."Bonnie stated and Katie nodded in agreement with her, knowing that Elena would be extremely pissed off if that happened.
Elena grimaced."Yeah, no, you vomit in my precious car and I will force you to clean it up and will never drive any of you anywhere, ever again."Elena warned them, glaring.
"Ok, maybe next time when it's just me and you in the car? Oh! Can you take me to one of those street car races?"Caroline asked, looking hopeful.
"Maybe one day, Caroline. One day."Elena said, not really promising the blonde that she would take her to said event.
And honestly, Elena didn't know if it was even a good idea to begin with, especially since Liz wasn't really happy with how Brian decided to live his life through illegal street racing, and Elena didn't want Liz on her case if Caroline decided to follow in hers and Brian's footsteps.
"Yes!"Caroline cheered, not hearing the doubt in Elena's voice.
"Anywhere, we're here."Elena stated, pulling up to a stop near the path that led to the Falls, and the trio got out of the car and would have walked off if they hadn't noticed that Elena had made no move to get out.
"You coming?"Katie asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"In a bit. I just gotta make a call to a friend."Elena said, waving them off as she pulled out her phone.
"Ok."Caroline chirped, already dragging Katie and Bonnie away. Taking a deep breath, Elena pressed the call button and wasn't surprised when Dom picked up on the second ring.
"Hey, Babe."Elena greeted him gently.
"Elena."Dom stated, sounding relieved to finally hear her voice."Where are you?"
"I'm fine. Safe. Didn't Mia tell you that?"Elena asked, although she already knew the answer to her own question.
"Elena, where are you?"He repeated with urgency in his voice.
"I'm not gonna tell you, Dom. I know you."She stated firmly, putting one hand on the wheel and rapped her fingers on the wheel in a soft rhythm.
"Elena... I..."Dom trailed off, not sure what to say."You're sure that you're safe?"
"Very."Elena stated calmly and couldn't help but roll her eyes at his protectiveness."I miss you."She added, glancing out the window of her car.
"Me too, Babe."Dom said softly."And... I'm sorry I got you caught up in my mess."He apologised, causing Elena's smile to widen slightly at the heartfelt apology and she shook her head.
"I know you're sorry, and I forgive you."Elena leaned back in her seat."I just wish you hadn't have been so reckless and stupid, Dom... But, I guess that's what I love about you."
"I love you too."Dom instantly replied and meant it."I just wish I knew where you were so I wouldn't have to worry about you."
"You shouldn't have to, I mean, I'm the one and only all Powerful Tribrid."Elena said dryly with a smirk on her face."I can protect myself."
"Yeah, but I like protecting you."Dom said, smirking.
Elena couldn't help but laugh."I know, baby, I know."
"What are you doing right now?"Dom asked, sounding curious.
"Sitting in my car, wondering if I should go to this racing scene and beat these punks who think they know how to drive, and score some money while I'm at it."Elena said, wishing she didn't have to lie through her teeth to her own boyfriend about what she was doing, but it seemed to please him, judging by the laugh he let escape.
"Oh you know you'd beat all of those punks who think they're better than a girl like you."
"Yeah?"
"You know it."
"Just like I know I can beat you?"
Dom smirked."You know I let you win, right?"
"Bullshit."Elena exclaimed fondly and they both laughed."What about you?"
"I'm staying with Tego and his Family."
"Tell 'em I say hi, yeah?"
"Of course, baby, you know I will."Dom said, getting the feeling that Elena was getting ready to hang up on him."You better win some good money, babe."
"You know I will."Elena answered."Love ya, Dom."
"Love you more, Elena."Dom said softly and Elena, just from hearing him say it again, felt tears build up in her eyes, and she quickly hung up so that she could get rid of the tears before they decided to fall.
Getting out of the car, and after locking it, Elena walked down the path to where all the teens were hanging out near the falls by a bonfire, and after scanning the crowd, Elena found her Sister and Bonnie, and took note that Caroline was off to the side, chatting with some other teens.
Elena immediately made her way over to the duo by the bonfire just in time to hear Bonnie say;"Just admit it, Katie."in a teasing voice.
"Ok, so he's a little pretty."Katie admitted, rolling her eyes at Bonnie.
"He has that romance-novel stare."Bonnie said, causing Elena to raise an eyebrow.
"Who does?"She asked as she came to stand opposite both girls, creating a triangle.
"'Stefan looked deep into her eyes, piercing her very soul.'"Bonnie said in a narrator's voice before sharing a laugh with Katie while Elena faked a smile."So, where is he?"Bonnie looked around for Stefan before looking back at Katie.
"I don't know, you tell me. You're the psychic one."Katie retorted playfully.
"Right. I forgot."Bonnie said in an airy voice and Elena paused, suddenly looking at Bonnie with an intense look in her eyes, not that either of the younger girls noticed."Ok, so give me a sec. Grams says I have to concentrate."She added dryly and closed her eyes.
"Wait!"Katie cut in."You need a crystal ball."She turned away from the duo and looked around before picking something up and turned back to them."Ta-da!"She was holding an empty beer bottle.
Scoffing, Bonnie grabbed hold of it and her grip suddenly tightened as she gained an intense look in her eyes and Elena pursed her lips as Bonnie suddenly looked between them oddly.
"What?"Katie and Elena asked in unison.
"That was weird."Bonnie stated."When I touched Katie, I saw a crow."She explained to the Siblings.
"What?"Katie asked softly while Elena's eyes narrowed.
"A crow."Bonnie repeated.
"There was fog, a man."Seeing the panic in Katie's eyes, Bonnie stopped."I'm drunk. It's the drinking. There's nothing psychic about it."Bonnie lied as she took the bottle from Katie."Yeah? Ok, I'm gonna get a refill."Before Katie could say anything, Bonnie walked off.
"Ok. Bonnie?"Katie said questionably to Bonnie's retreating back before looking at her Older Sister."Elena-Hey!"Katie cut herself when Elena suddenly stole her cup."You're driving us home, remember."Katie reminded her Older Sister, who shrugged.
"What? It's just one cup."Elena stated, shrugging as she took a mouthful."Besides, it takes more than one cup to get me drunk, Katie-Cat."With that said, Elena started walking off.
"Where are you going?"Katie called out to her, confused.
"To the sideline, where I can see all of you."Elena said over her shoulder and pointed in a random direction.
"Elena!"Katie groaned and turned back around, only to nearly jump in fright when she came face to face with Stefan.
"Hi."Stefan said, smiling at her, causing her to chuckle.
"Hi."Katie automatically replied.
Elena, who had made herself comfortable on a log that was against a tree, which she leaned her back against, pursed her lips when she saw Stefan talking with Katie, and gritted her teeth in silent anger.
Deciding to just let it go for now, Elena decided to drink from her, well Katie's, cup, before noticing a familiar brunet walking off into the woods. Oh, you have got to be kidding me. Elena mentally screamed and put her drink down to follow after Jeremy with the intention of dragging him home.
Just as she caught up to Jeremy, she saw two teens against a tree, and Elena would have ignored them if one of the teens, obviously a girl, started protesting;"I said no. Ow! That hurts!"She cried and shoved the male teen away from her person at the same time Jeremy said;"Hey! Leave her alone!"
"You know, you're starting to get on my nerves, Gilbert."The black haired boy said, glaring at Jeremy, and looked ready to attack him if Elena hadn't had moved to stand in front of him, glaring darkly at the black haired boy.
"And you know something else, when a girl says no, you should back the fuck off."Elena practically growled at the teen, who took a step back and looked at her with wide eyes, not realising that the teen she was threatening was Tyler Lockwood."Get out of here before I call the cops and have you arrested for assault and attempt rape."Elena threatened him.
Tyler paled, looking terrified."Th-they wouldn't believe you. Do you even know who I am!?"He retorted, trying to sound just as threatening as Elena was, seeming to not realise that she was Jeremy's Older Sister.
Elena let out an amused huff."No, I don't know who you are and to be completely honest, I don't give a fuck as to who you are. However, the Cops would believe me because the Sheriff is my Godmother, so it's your word against mine."Elena crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Tyler, just go."The girl, who had been quiet since Elena started threatening the boy, spoke up, pushing the boy, Tyler, into leaving and he looked at her in anger.
"Wow, Vicki Donovan says no. That's a first."He said, trying to brush off Elena's threat.
"I mean it, Tyler, scram. I have the Sheriff on speed dial."Elena gave him one last warning as she pulled out her phone.
Scoffing, Tyler stormed off with the trio watching him before Vicki turned to them."I didn't need your help, Jeremy."She said to Jeremy, sounding annoyed as Elena stepped away from them.
"Seems like you did."Jeremy stated.
"He was just drunk."Vicki snapped defensively.
"I'm drunk. Am I throwing myself at you?"Jeremy shot back questionably.
"No. You're worse."Vicki stated and Elena felt as if she was watching a lovers spat."You wanna talk to me, get to know me, see into my soul, and screw and screw and screw until you're done with me."She said in a sarcastic voice.
Jeremy stepped closer to her."Is that what you think?"
"That's what I know."Vicki said, her voice soft, yet thick with emotions and it looked like she was trying to hold herself back from crying.
"Ok, I've had enough."Elena said, stepping between them."You,"She looked at Jeremy."go to my car, now."She said, pulling out her keys and shoved them in Jeremy's chest and he took them."You're grounded."
"What?"Jeremy spluttered, looking at her in disbelief.
"You said you were staying in, not going out. You lied to not only me, but Jenna as well. So you're grounded."Elena stated, leaving no room for discussion."Go."She pointed in the direction of where her car was and she and Vicki watched him leave before she turned to Vicki, who looked at her, as if just realising who she was."I have no idea what's going on, and frankly speaking, I don't care, as long as Jeremy does not come with a black eye one day because of your idiot of a boyfriend."Elena said coldly as she stared Vicki down.
"It won't happen."Vicki said softly.
"It better not, or else I will hold you responsible, Miss. Donovan."Elena warned her.
"But-But nothing."Elena cut her off before she walked off, leaving Vicki to stare after her before she scoffed and walked off in the other direction.
"Where's Katie?"Elena asked, trying to keep calm, as she appeared behind the trio, being Matt, Bonnie, and Caroline, who all jumped at her voice and turned to her."And also, would it kill one of you girls to answer your phones?"
Caroline and Bonnie looked at her sheepishly."Sorry."They said in unison.
"Katie's talking with Stefan."Bonnie added, pointing at the bridge that the duo in question were standing on, causing Elena to look in their direction and groaned softly.
"Of course she is."She muttered.
"What's going on?"Matt asked, frowning as he looked between the girls.
"Elena's our ride... I guess we have to go?"Bonnie explained and looked at Elena questionably.
"What? But the night's still young!"Caroline protested.
"I don't care, I'm pissed off as it is."Elena snapped, causing the trio to look at her with wide eyes.
"What happened?"Matt wondered out loud.
"Jeremy lied, came to the party, and is drunk."Elena said cryptically, not wanting Matt to find out the whole story because it wasn't exactly her story to tell."I'll be in the car, waiting with Jeremy. You've got ten minutes. If you're not there by then, find your own way home."Elena warned Caroline and Bonnie before storming off, leaving the trio to stare after her with wide eyes.
"What crawled up her ass and died?"Caroline asked out loud.
"Caroline!"Matt and Bonnie hissed, hoping Elena didn't hear them.
"Just saying."Caroline grumbled, shrugging before she looked back at where Katie and Stefan were still talking, along with the others.
Getting back to the car, Elena expected Jeremy to be there, but to her surprise, he was nowhere in sight. Growling lowly under her breath, Elena felt her fangs extend and her nails sharpened into claws, which she fisted at her sides. Suddenly, the smell of smoke caught her attention and she turned around to find a tree starting to catch on fire.
"Fuck."Elena cursed, realising that she had let her emotions get the better of her, causing her Magic to go haywire.
Taking a deep breath and relaxing her stance, Elena uncurled her hands and the fire went out. After taking a few more deep breaths, Elena's features became more Human, and she headed back in the direction of the party, hoping to find Jeremy or the girls, but she ran into Stefan instead.
"Have you seen my Siblings?"Elena asked, realising that Katie wasn't with Stefan.
"Uh, Katie went after Jeremy in that direction-Somebody help!"Katie's voice rang out, causing the duo to turn with wide eyes and saw her, and Jeremy carrying someone.
"Vicki?"Matt said questionably before he ran over to the Gilbert Siblings."Vicki, what the hell!?"
Elena, getting out of her shock, ran over to them."Clear that table!"She snapped at a couple of teens close to the table that Jeremy was close to."Jeremy, lie her down."She said as soon as the others had cleared the table.
"What happened!?"Tyler asked as he rushed to Matt's side, trying to look Vicki over.
"Back off."
"Call an ambulance."
Matt and Elena said in unison. Although Elena was actually speaking to everyone who was trying to get a closer look at Vicki.
"What happened?"Elena asked her Siblings as she checked Vicki's neck.
"We don't know. We just found her in the woods."Katie said, starting to sound hysterical."Something bit her, she's losing a lot of blood."She added worriedly.
"Noted."Elena said dryly and fought to roll her eyes at the obvious."Katie, I need you to take a step back, you too, Jeremy."She said, giving them a quick glance and couldn't help but notice Stefan staring at them but turned her attention back to the matter at hand.
"Is there anything you can do?"Matt asked, having heard from Katie that Elena had studied at a Med School, and watched as she put her hands against the wound.
"All I can do, is wrap her neck with something to stop her from losing anymore blood until the medics arrive..."Elena trailed off as she looked up at the group of teens, noticing that no one had pulled out their phones."Why hasn't anyone called 911!?"She exclaimed, which snapped everyone out of their states of shock. Tyler, having been told before to call the ambulance, pulled out his phone and did just that."Matt, I'm going to take my hands away, and as soon as I do, I need you to put your hands against the wound firmly, ok?"Although he was confused as to why Elena was taking her own hands away, Matt nodded and took Elena's place the moment she pulled away.
"What are you doing?"Caroline exclaimed in confusion when Elena backed away from them.
"We need to wrap her neck."Elena repeated her earlier statement."And I have a med-kit in my car. Jeremy, my keys."Jeremy handed her the keys and Elena took off to her car to get the med-kit before returning to Vicki's side, Elena glanced at everyone that was close to them before looking directly at Bonnie, noticing that her eyes weren't as glazed over as everyone else's, nor did she look as distress as the rest of the teens around them."Bonnie, I need you to grab her arm and put it above her head when I say so, ok?"
"O-Ok."Bonnie said, nodding and moved by Vicki's head.
Elena opened her med-kit and pulled out a dressing pad."Matt, when I give you the word, you let go."Matt nodded, growing more concerned for his Sister by the second."Now."Matt moved away, and Elena quickly put the dressing pad over the wound and wrapped it firmly once with a bandage."Put your hands back on the wound and gently lift her up, but not into a sitting position, ok."Elena told Matt."Now, Bonnie."The black haired girl quickly grabbed Vicki's limp arm and put it over her head, and Elena finished bandaging Vicki's neck and under her armpit.
Once she was done, she had Bonnie lower Vicki's arm."Why'd you wrap under her armpit?"Tyler asked, confused.
"It'll put extra pressure on her neck which she needs. How far away is the ambulance?"Elena stated questionably as she looked back at Tyler.
"They're on their way."Tyler said, looking at her in worry."Is she going to be ok?"
"I..."Elena glanced back at Vicki before looking at Tyler."I'm not a Doctor, Tyler, so I can't tell you. We need to wait for the medics, ok?"Tyler nodded with a grim look on his face, before Elena turned her attention to the rest of the crowd, and her eyes narrowed when she noticed that Stefan was nowhere to be found.
