"Are you sure you don't want me to drop you girls off home?"Elena, who had been speaking with one of the Officers, who had wanted to speak with her, before going to find Bonnie and Caroline, after Katie had told her what they were going to do, questioned the duo, who both shook their heads, no.

"Like we told Katie, we're going to go mainline coffee and wait for news."Bonnie repeated what she said to Katie.

"Ok, be safe."Elena said and they gave her a weak smile before she walked over to her car and got in the drivers seat, glancing in the rearview mirror at a silent Jeremy and Katie."I know you're worried about Vicki, Jeremy..."Elena trailed off as Jeremy looked up at her."But you're still grounded,"Elena turned around in her seat to look directly at her Younger Brother."and I know this sounds harsh, but what happened to Vicki, is what could have happened to you, and Jenna and I wouldn't have known about it until we got a call."Jeremy looked down at his lap, feeling a strong urge of guilt well up in his chest."This is why you don't lie to us, ok?"He gave a small, but sharp, nod."When we get home, go straight to bed, both of you, and don't you dare wake up Jenna."

"What if she's already awake because of this?"Katie asked in a weak voice.

"Again, go straight to bed, I'll speak with her."Elena stated as she started up the car and drove away from the falls.

After the trio got inside the Gilbert Household, Katie and Jeremy quietly snuck upstairs, after Elena checked to see if Jenna was still awake and was somewhere downstairs, but after finding no trace of her anywhere downstairs, Elena gathered that Jenna was indeed asleep, to their rooms with Elena watching from the bottom of said stairs.

Once she heard them shut their doors, Elena quietly headed back outside to her car, and drove off to the Salvatore Boarding House.

The moment Elena got to the Boarding House, she didn't bother knocking and just used her Magic to unlock the front door and stormed inside, surprising a confused and worried Zach.

"How-Where is he!"Elena snarled, cutting Zach off as her eyes turned yellow, causing him to gulp softly, having never seen a Werewolf, and wasn't sure how to deal with one, especially a pissed off one.

"He's upstairs, in his room."Zach admitted, gesturing to the stairs.

He watched, feeling helpless, as Elena raced up the stairs and headed to Stefan's room. Elena slammed open Stefan's door with her Werewolf Strength, drawing Stefan's attention to her.

"Elena, I swear, it wasn't me."Stefan said and Elena scoffed as she stalked towards him.

"You actually think for a second, I'm just gonna believe you?"Elena questioned him, although she didn't wait for an answer, she grabbed him by the neck and slammed him into the nearest wall.

However, before she could tear his head from his neck, a crow cawed as it flew into the room, drawing their attention to it, and they watched in confusion as it landed above them on a wooded frame, and looked down at them.

Sensing eyes on her back, Elena glanced over shoulder, at the balcony, and found an unknown man standing on said balcony, looking at her with a raised eyebrow, and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, causing her to tense.

"Damon."Stefan suddenly said, sounding wary.

"Hello, Brother."The man, Damon, greeted Stefan with a loop-side smirk."Am I interrupting?"He wiggled his eyebrows, and Elena looked at him in disgust.

"Brother?"Elena suddenly echoed, realising that Damon wasn't a man, but a Vampire."Just what I need."She growled lowly as she let go of Stefan."Another Vampire."She spat, glaring at Damon, who walked over to them.

"The crow's a bit much, don't you think?"Stefan questioned Damon as if he hadn't just been choked and nearly had his head torn off mere seconds ago.

"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog."Damon stated.

"When did you get here?"Stefan questioned him while Elena, who had backed away, watched the duo warily.

"Well, I couldn't miss your first day of School."He said, walking over to the bookshelf and glancing at the books."Your hair's different."Damon glanced back at Stefan."I like it."

"It's been fifteen years, Damon."

"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the '90s."Damon started walking around the room."That horrible grunge look"Damon snickered"did not suit you."Stefan glared at him."Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads."

"Ok, enough of this bullshit!"Elena snapped, drawing their attention to her as she eyed them with a furious look in her eyes."Why the fuck are you here? Are you the one who attacked that girl in the woods?"Elena questioned Damon.

"I forgot you were here, sweetheart."Damon admitted and was suddenly in front of her."In fact, how about you leave and forget everything you heard and saw."His eyes dilated as he looked Elena in the eyes.

Unexpectedly, Elena punched him across the face, sending him sprawling to the ground. Grabbing the side of his jaw, Damon looked up at her in shock and confusion, wondering why his compulsion didn't work.

"Sorry, but I'm not Human and I can't be compelled."Elena's eyes flashed yellow as she glared down at him.

At seeing her eyes flash yellow, Damon jumped to his feet."You're a Werewolf."He looked from her to Stefan.

"And you're a blood sucking leech."Elena spat back at him."Why are you here, Vampire?"

"I missed my Brother."Damon said, trying to sound like he meant it but Stefan knew better.

"You hate Small Towns."Stefan stated."It's boring. There's nothing for you to do."

"I've managed to keep myself busy."Damon stated in a deadpanned voice but smirked at them.

"You know, you left that girl alive tonight."Stefan stated and Elena's eyes darkened."That's very clumsy of you."

"Ah, that could be a problem..."He trailed off thoughtfully."For you."

"Why are you here, now?"Stefan echoed the one question that he and Elena had continued to try and get an answer from Damon.

"I could ask you the same question."He stated, glancing at Elena."However, I'm fairly certain your answer could be summed up all into one little word; Katie."As soon as Katie's name left Damon's lips, Elena lost it and she would have attacked him if Stefan hadn't held her back.

"Stay the hell away from my Sister!"Elena snarled as she fought to get out of Stefan's arms.

"Elena, Elena, listen to me."Stefan whispered against Elena's ear, grunting as she struggled against him."Go home. I'll deal with him."Elena paused, side eyeing Stefan but kept her attention purely on Damon, who was watching them with an amused look on his face."I promise you, I'll keep him away from Katie."

Taking a deep breath, Elena fully relaxed in Stefan's arms and nodded. After a few seconds, Stefan let her go and she moved away from both of them, eyeing them warily before she stormed out of the room and down stairs, only to pause when she saw Zach standing there, looking her over before meeting her gaze.

"You didn't kill him."Zach stated questionably.

"He was telling the truth. He isn't the one killing people. His Brother is."Elena said curtly and left Zach standing there, frozen in pure fear by her answer.

As soon as Elena got home, she checked in on her Siblings without them knowing. She paused in the doorway when she saw Jenna looking at something in the living room and silently peered over her shoulder, finding Jeremy on the couch, looking at a photo of Grayson and Miranda, before she left for upstairs and checked on Katie, who was writing in her diary by the bay window.

Sighing softly, Elena headed for her room and lied down on her bed, grabbing a pillow and hugged it to her chest, wishing more then anything that she had Mia and Letty to talk to, or even have Dom to help her.

Elena nodded off to sleep, unaware that sometime later, Katie would speak with Stefan and invite him into the house, not realising the danger she was bringing into their home.
